The customer service was heavily waning. The location was set to open at 8:00, (1HR later than other locations in the area). The staff was unfriendly and seemed inconvenienced by my presence when they decided to open the doors at 8:05. They spoke in mumbles & were unable to make eye contact. All in all it was disappointing & left much room for improvement.

Well, U-haul - you are crooks! I booked a van and it was $19.99 on the website plus fees and insurance. But not when it came to the actual bill! Now I came to find out that it's $119 per day! It's a rip off! Never again I'm going to book you guys. I'd rather find someone else. And I'm ok to pay a more expensive price! But NOT when it's done like that - I drop off the van and you just charge me afterwards! Oh the agent who was on duty should be paying more attention. We reported wrong mileage on the van BEFORE we left and he didn't even bother changing it, so you guys charged me for the miles that I didn't even drive! Crooks!

Communicate to your customers when you are going to release their reservation. Also, clearly communicate that the tank needs to be re-fueled upon return. The service at Storage Blue in Union City and Jersey City was horrendous. I would never rent a U-Haul from either of these locations again.

You guys charged me $280 for damage that I didn't do. Ridiculous!!! I didn't hit anything. The damage on the vehicle was there when I picked it up last Saturday. Such dishonest people. I drove the vehicle back and the lady just said you'll get a receipt in 30 minutes. No walk thru to inspect the vehicle...nothing!!! I even filled up the gas past the 3/4's mark! I thought that was it...next thing I know is that I get a +$280 charge for damage. You guys are dishonest. Will never use U Haul again.

The employees at this location need to be trained or fired for submitting false information to generating revenues. I rent a 15' truck; I went twelve miles (Mileage out 77,706, Mileage in 77,718) I put $10.00 gas in the truck within the twelve. The manager and employees wrote down I used 7 gallons of gasoline and charged my CC. I had to call U-Haul twice to resolve this matter. I went back to the location and talked to the manager; base on his answer, I have a feeling they been doing this for a while, and the customers just not realizing that the shitty business practice. I will never go back to this location again.

Front desk staff: awesome. Phone staff: awesome. Both picking up equipment and dropping it off were smooth, easy, and fast. That said, I arrived for each with absolutely no line at all, which makes a difference. Either way, they were rad.

The amount of hoops to jump through for approval on pickup was ridiculous. I spent 30 minutes outside trying to get through the process. Pads I ordered were not present in truck upon pickup. Location was using pictures of truck to verify condition that were clearly months out of date (trees in picture were completely bare, taken in winter). Overall unacceptable. Will be contacting customer service Monday

The check-in process was horrendous. Due to COVID-19 I opted for a self check-in. I kept having to reenter my information multiple times, only for U-Haul to say that my info needed a 3rd form of verification. I selected to have a referral of mine called. This person was sitting next to me and U-Haul kept saying they called the person but no phone call was ever received. Finally after about 15 minutes the phone call that lasted maybe 10 seconds happened. This process was so inefficient and the customer service reps I spoke to seemed to lack knowledge about how to handle the process. I'm very disappointed in how this experience went and will not be using U-Haul's services ever again.

None of the extra equipment requested was readily available. I had requested 1 order of furniture pads and a furniture dolly and when I checked the truck it had neither. I was advised that they "were busy" and had run out of furniture pads. As for the dolly I was pointed to a spare sitting in the office. The truck itself was disgusting on the inside. So much for the "cleaning" fee as there was a layer or dust, dirt, and other dry "stuff" caked onto the bed of the van I rented. I ordered the furniture pads to protect the furniture that I was moving. Local employees: make sure that renters clean the damn vans. Employees had no sense of urgency or customer service.

Love uHaul, however the van that I rented was not full in gas when i picked it up, there was an oil change alert, and also the drivers window was getting stuck half of the time when opening/closing it.

I have had to move many times throughout my life. I have had to use U-Haul's services most of the times I have had to move, and, unfortunately, I have experienced some sort of issue with my reservation almost every single time I did. Sometimes, my particular vehicle had not yet been returned by the previous renter, forcing me to rent another, more expensive vehicle which did not fit my moving needs. Sometimes, the vehicle was not available at all, forcing me to rent another vehicle from another company -- all at the very last minute, costing me hundreds of dollars more. When such an incident happens, in addition to the cost, I have had to suffer additional, unnecessary stress and the waste of precious time for the inconvenience. When these incidents occurred over the years, I was lucky to even receive an apology at the time from the U-Haul agents I dealt with - normally giving me little more than a curt: "Your truck and/or equipment is not available. You can come back tomorrow or deal with it some other way." (Responses like that one - yes, pluralized - were always exceptionally helpful solutions. I could just leave my belongings in the street in the meantime just to see if my truck and equipment would be unavailable again.) While my experience with this particular rental was not as extreme as before (insofar as my truck was actually ready when I arrived), I still had to endure the hassle of dealing with my reservation for furniture pads and furniture dolly not being available for my rental. The agents at StorageBlue were kind enough to secure the equipment free of charge for me at another rental facility; however, I still had to endure the hassle of making my way over to the new facility, wait for an agent to hear me re-explain my case, then fight traffic on the way back to my original facility to pick up my hired moving help. All this extra hassle caused a significant delay in my day's plans. I was lucky enough to learn that the hired help would not charge me extra for the delayed start; however, not all moving companies can be as accommodating - assuming that I was even able to get back with the equipment at all. While I was loading my truck, there was even some debris and other items left behind by a previous renter inside the cabin. It was as if U-Haul had not even trained its staff to ensure that its vehicles were ready for the next user. I am seriously dissatisfied with the service that U-Haul has provided to me over the years. This particular incident was little more than the icing on the cake. I see no logical reason to recommend U-Haul's services to anyone.

I ordered a dolly, but there wasn't a dolly available for pickup. You know that people who move need dollies, right? So you should plan for this kind of shit? The cashier told me this kind of problem happens all the time. WTF.

No one told me that they didn't have my cargo van available for pick up. So I was stuck renting a bigger truck I didn't need and paying a higher mileage rate. Huge disappointment and I called customer service because they said they could refund the difference between 1.09 and 1.99 and now I keep getting the round around.

Advise ahead of time that there is limited customer parking for those under 2-hours and NO PARKING for anyone who need to rent a vehicle for over 2-hours. After i got my keys, I found that i could not park my car anywhere close for over 2-hours and had to drive home and Uber back to get the truck I rented. This would have been fine, had I known ahead of time and thus would have Uber'd there to begin with. Lost over an hour of time I could have been using the rental, as it was dropped off the same day @ closing.

the dolly i ordered was not available. i was told if i wanted one i should drive to “an actual Uhaul location” both mileage and gas levels were incorrect when i arrived to my vehicle. this was ultimately corrected, but i had issues with the gas level when i arrived at my drop off Uhaul location: apparently the “equipment condition” link i followed and took the time to fill out completely with photos did not take successfully in the system. also, the agent behind the desk suggested i call Uhaul in order to fix the issues, she did not take the initiative to call herself — until i asked her to do so.

The people working here are so rude and irresponsible. There were two men running the whole building. First, the 24/7 online system didn't work and I had to go inside to get my keys anyway. Second, I returned my car at 1pm (I had it rented until 2pm) and waited 30 mins to check out. Not because there was a line (I was the only one there) but because one guy didn't know how to handle customers and the other guy had stepped out to go to the convenience store and didn't come back until 1:15pm and even then he didn't inspect the uhaul like I asked him and told Me I'm done. Luckily I have rented uhaul 5 times in the past 5-6 years so I know how it works. They're suppose to inspect in front of you to tell you if there any want issues so I told them I'm waiting for them to inspect and they took their sweet time with that. Again, very rude, irresponsible, and like didn't care about their customers or the business we bring at all. Good to know, happy to take my business to Penske or other businesses. There is no shortage of rental truck providers.

I told the agent I didn't want insurance. I selected no insurance in the app multiple times. Somehow I was still scammed out of $11 for useless insurance that doesn't cover anything. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. They probably have some sort of commission on insurance and scam everyone that comes through.
