I have had to move many times throughout my life. I have had to use U-Haul's services most of the times I have had to move, and, unfortunately, I have experienced some sort of issue with my reservation almost every single time I did. Sometimes, my particular vehicle had not yet been returned by the previous renter, forcing me to rent another, more expensive vehicle which did not fit my moving needs. Sometimes, the vehicle was not available at all, forcing me to rent another vehicle from another company -- all at the very last minute, costing me hundreds of dollars more. When such an incident happens, in addition to the cost, I have had to suffer additional, unnecessary stress and the waste of precious time for the inconvenience. When these incidents occurred over the years, I was lucky to even receive an apology at the time from the U-Haul agents I dealt with - normally giving me little more than a curt: "Your truck and/or equipment is not available. You can come back tomorrow or deal with it some other way." (Responses like that one - yes, pluralized - were always exceptionally helpful solutions. I could just leave my belongings in the street in the meantime just to see if my truck and equipment would be unavailable again.) While my experience with this particular rental was not as extreme as before (insofar as my truck was actually ready when I arrived), I still had to endure the hassle of dealing with my reservation for furniture pads and furniture dolly not being available for my rental. The agents at StorageBlue were kind enough to secure the equipment free of charge for me at another rental facility; however, I still had to endure the hassle of making my way over to the new facility, wait for an agent to hear me re-explain my case, then fight traffic on the way back to my original facility to pick up my hired moving help. All this extra hassle caused a significant delay in my day's plans. I was lucky enough to learn that the hired help would not charge me extra for the delayed start; however, not all moving companies can be as accommodating - assuming that I was even able to get back with the equipment at all. While I was loading my truck, there was even some debris and other items left behind by a previous renter inside the cabin. It was as if U-Haul had not even trained its staff to ensure that its vehicles were ready for the next user. I am seriously dissatisfied with the service that U-Haul has provided to me over the years. This particular incident was little more than the icing on the cake. I see no logical reason to recommend U-Haul's services to anyone.

I ordered a dolly, but there wasn't a dolly available for pickup. You know that people who move need dollies, right? So you should plan for this kind of shit? The cashier told me this kind of problem happens all the time. WTF.

No one told me that they didn’t have my cargo van available for pick up. So I was stuck renting a bigger truck I didn’t need and paying a higher mileage rate. Huge disappointment and I called customer service because they said they could refund the difference between 1.09 and 1.99 and now I keep getting the round around.

Advise ahead of time that there is limited customer parking for those under 2-hours and NO PARKING for anyone who need to rent a vehicle for over 2-hours. After i got my keys, I found that i could not park my car anywhere close for over 2-hours and had to drive home and Uber back to get the truck I rented. This would have been fine, had I known ahead of time and thus would have Uber'd there to begin with. Lost over an hour of time I could have been using the rental, as it was dropped off the same day @ closing.

the dolly i ordered was not available. i was told if i wanted one i should drive to “an actual Uhaul location” both mileage and gas levels were incorrect when i arrived to my vehicle. this was ultimately corrected, but i had issues with the gas level when i arrived at my drop off Uhaul location: apparently the “equipment condition” link i followed and took the time to fill out completely with photos did not take successfully in the system. also, the agent behind the desk suggested i call Uhaul in order to fix the issues, she did not take the initiative to call herself — until i asked her to do so.

The people working here are so rude and irresponsible. There were two men running the whole building. First, the 24/7 online system didn’t work and I had to go inside to get my keys anyway. Second, I returned my car at 1pm (I had it rented until 2pm) and waited 30 mins to check out. Not because there was a line (I was the only one there) but because one guy didn’t know how to handle customers and the other guy had stepped out to go to the convenience store and didn’t come back until 1:15pm and even then he didn’t inspect the uhaul like I asked him and told Me I’m done. Luckily I have rented uhaul 5 times in the past 5-6 years so I know how it works. They’re suppose to inspect in front of you to tell you if there any want issues so I told them I’m waiting for them to inspect and they took their sweet time with that. Again, very rude, irresponsible, and like didn’t care about their customers or the business we bring at all. Good to know, happy to take my business to Penske or other businesses. There is no shortage of rental truck providers.

I told the agent I didn't want insurance. I selected no insurance in the app multiple times. Somehow I was still scammed out of $11 for useless insurance that doesn't cover anything. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. They probably have some sort of commission on insurance and scam everyone that comes through.

When I arrived to this location they did not had vehicle available for me based on reservation, they said sorry I have to cancel reservation as someone did not returned the vehicle. My entire plan was in stake, then I requested them, they said they will try, after half a day spent on there office I got a 15 feet vehicle but they charged me more than what I had booked for, I will never recommend anyone to this location.

1. Though its 24x7 truck share, there was no key box and bit difficult to find the parked truck 2. Truck was not maintained in condition. The rear view mirrors on passenger side was not working properly. Truck controls were not smooth to operate compared to previous experience from different location. 3. Billing/receipt shows unexpected charges for not opted items as well.

Their facility has a sign that says “open from 8am to 8pm” and then when I get there at 7:45pm to return the truck they were closed. There is a key drop off box but no place to park the truck. Also I got the truck with less than half a tank of gas and I filled up and returned it the same but they charged me for a full tank of gas and another gas service charge. I had left my sofa pillows in the van at the backside that to fixed on between the wooden bars attached to inside side of the van. When I asked first thing in morning if they have them and they said they were stolen, we had our windows properly closed still they mentioned it was stolen. And they were fixed in the wooden bar in between which are not easily identifiable to get stolen. Not sure I would never recommend anyone to store the stuff their

I was not notified of where to return the vehicle & they are charging me for a parking ticket for parking in front of the building, which is what the customer service rep recommended since the gate to the lot where I picked up the truck, was locked. There was no signage indicating another lot on the contract, the gate, the building, the return app & even corporate had no instructions. Very poor communication here.

Even though I only went 5 miles and put in 2 gallons of gas, and took a photo of the mileage and gas gauge before I took the truck, and returned it with the gauge at the exact same spot, you charged me $7.50 for 2 gallons of gas. I complained about the charge and sent you the photo and you still charged me the $7.50. Others, beware that, even for a local move, the “$19.99 plus mileage” rate will be nearly tripled by the time uhaul is done nickel and diming you.

Workers at this facility falsely accused me of making the damage to the vehicle. They didnt even bother coming outside at the time of the pick up and at the time of the drop off. Called me 3 hours later to tell me that i caused a front damage to the vehicle. Shame on them!!! Never will use the facility again.

reserved a dolly, then when I got there was told there was none available. I then pointed out there was one literally 10 feet from where we were standing. The rental charge was $10 for the dolly, but I was charged $65 for some unexplained reason. I sent 3 emails requesting an explanation but go NO response.

Drop off point parking lot was locked, no street parking, the side street parking has 'No parking boards', absolutely no U-Haul parking signs there (High Street) and hence I wasn't able to drop off the vehicle on time. First customer care representative I spoke with was helpful and understanding of the situation. The second representative was rude and not at all helpful. I had to keep the u-Haul with me overnight so I paid for parking and to and fro uber which increased the cost. (The only reason I usedu-haul was to save some money otherwise packers and movers could have done this job easily and at about the same price) The only thing I'm thankful is that they didn't charge me for the overnight and the first CS rep extended my reservation duration at no cost (Thanks to her!) This was my first U-Haul booking and looking at this experience I will really think a 100 times before I book again. This is just to share my experience, if it sounded rude please accept my apologies. I got late to work because I wasn't able to return it, was stressed and wasted money and 3 hours just to figure out what needs to be done.

We rented the Uhaul in MA and drove it to Manhattan. We were given three return locations: Jersey City, Brooklyn, or Staten Island. JC was the closest. It took us 2.5 hours, with traffic, to return the truck and drive back to Manhattan. Ridiculous. Later we learned there's a Uhaul location down the street form where we were on Broadway. Not happy.

I reserved a U-Haul for a move. While reserving, it told me I could save $30 dollars by dropping it at a location 20 min from my home. Instead of dropping it off at the one close by, I chose this option to save money. On the day of pick up, they told me they could no longer honor this price for that location and if I wanted the $30 cheaper rate, I would have to drop t off at a location 40 miles from my home. This would have put me over on mileage, cost me more and added a nearly 2 hour round trip for the drop off so I said no thank you and I’d like to drop it off at the location closest to me for the more expensive rate. The employee told me fine. When trying to return my U-Haul, they told me I had to drop it off at the location 40 miles away AND I didn’t receive the discounted rate. So now i was out 2 hours of my time (not including the 1.5 hours on the phone trying to straighten it out), I was charged almost $25 extra dollars for the extra mileage, I had to pay substantially more in gas and I never even received the discounted rate for this location. I was told a regional manager would be contacting me regarding this issue and that was a week ago and I have not been contacted. This experience was bordering on fraud. My orinigal reservation was not honored, i was lied to, overcharged and no one has contacted me to rectify the issue. I will not be recommending this service to anyone.

The truck I rented did not have AC, I explained that to the people helping me that day. I explained that to them and by the end of the rental they were awesome and compensated my bill reflecting the no AC in the truck. They were eager to help and great to rent from.
