The person behind the counter told us she was recovering from Covid, which made us uneasy because she claimed she still did not feel well. Then we went into the van and it did not look like it had been cleaned in awhile. We are vaccinated so fingers crossed we don't get sick!Susan M.
The rental location was EXCELLENT. My issue is with the corporate U-Haul website. On Thursday, that website allowed me to make a reservation for a 15' truck to be picked up at 2pm on a Saturday. I then got a call a few hours later that the truck was't available at the location I picked - a bigger truck was available farther away in the opposite direction I would be traveling. So I had to cancel that reservation and look for a different location. The website then allowed me to make the Saturday 2pm reservation at a place closer to the direction I was going in. But in reality the truck wasn't available for that time. The poor guy that runs the pickup location had to tell me that the day before the rental (Friday). My choices were that I had to either use the truck that day/night (Friday) or on Saturday morning. Which then created a domino effect because others were involved with this move. Then when I finally worked it out for Friday afternoon, my reservation changed from a 15' truck to a 20' truck - which was overkill for moving a patio set. Thankfully the man that runs the pickup location was nice enough to call the customer with the 15' truck and ask him if he wanted to swap with the 20' truck - which the customer did (a big thank you to that customer as well). U-Haul corporate needs to get their act together and not overbook. It was a ridiculously frustrating and time consuming experience. The only saving grace was the rental location itself. The customer service was great and the truck was immaculate and in great running condition and pickup/drop-off was easy.BARBARA M.

Please know that the truck leaked and damaged approximately 10 boxes and their contents. In additon the truck's drivers seat had a metal wire sticking up out of the seat which caused me to rip my pants. I would appreciate at least a 100,00 $ discount off my bill EDEdward K.

This was an exceptional moving experience. Advancements in the actual vehicle made for an easy moveâ€¦ Such as doors that open wide making access simple, rubber floor mat in the bed kept items from shifting, rear camera on mirror made reversing a cinch, app made pickup/drop off smooth and easy. I originally reserved the rental for pickup/drop off local to me in Whitehouse Station, NJ. At the last minute UHaul changed that to South Brunswick, NJ, more than an hour away aNd in the wrong direction. That would have added 4 hours driving between pickup and drop off. Totally unacceptable. The guy at Stowaway solved the problem for me. I am very grateful for that.Mark F.

I was giving a truck without a ramp and was not made aware of it. I have a federal disability and needed a ramp. I cannot lift boxes. I cannot lift up furniture. I needed a ramp and was not told the truck didn't have a ramp. I ended up in the hospital. I had to get my stuff out of storage June 1, I was in the hospital. The guy didn't go over the mileage for the truck. I didn't know he was supposed to tell me that also I do not believe I should have to pay for any of this. I am very hurt, sore, and in pain I did extra work I should not have done I needed my stuff out of storage, I was not giving all the equipment that is supposed to come with the truck. I ended up in the hospitalKiona K.
This place is very dishonest and tried to over charge us on fuel. We added more fuel that we started with. Thank goodness we take pictures of the gas and odometer before and after.I find the other recent reviews suspicious. Mike had 5 stars but negative comments. We have been regular uhaul custmers in the past at many other locations. This never happened. Scott was rude, plain and simple. Thank goodness the 1800 uhaul helped us out and gave us our refund. U-Haul should make sure essential items are available. Our truck was available, however, the furniture pads & the furniture dolly we reserved where not. We had to go to home depot and pay an extra 120 $for these items.Michael D.

We did the automatic drop off after hours and had some challenges. Worked with 2 different customer service people who were not able to assist in closing out our rental. We needed to sing on as a non-account owner in order to upload photo and close out rental.Karen S.
Your app sucks. (1) There was a delay in getting my vehicle because the app was not functioning correctly, which led to a delay in picking up my vehicle. (2) There is no way on the app to view the rental - meaning, I was trying to look up the amount of fuel that the vehicle had when it was picked up because I filled it to where it was but I was still charged for two gallons of gas. (3). The rental location was very good and the owner was great. Concerned about the overall safety of myself and others who would be in the vehicle, considering the pandemic that's going on. It would be easier if the tank was full. I had to stop twice to put gas in because I had to leave it exactly one dash over a 1/4 tank so I did not have to pay a huge fine. That is hard to determine when you dont know the truck.Mary R.

I was charged an additional 45 $dollars for service I did not willingly purchase. I had purchased everything online and did not want any insurance. When I arrived to pick up the truck they told me I had only paid a portion of the amount online and still owed money. They made it seem like I had only paid a holding fee, but I realized afterwards when I looked over my emailed receipt that they had added insurance without telling me. It's not worth the trouble for me to fix this, but I am extremely disappointed by this scam.Nathaniel D.

I filled the tank up to what I thought was the required level before returning the tank. The level was marked with a yellow marker that has quite a wide pen. The gentleman at the drop off location who was efficient and helpful interpreted the very right side of the marker was the required level and charged me 9 $for gas. I rented the truck for 400 $. Had it for three days, but returned it within 24 or 25 hours. It wasn't worth arguing about but leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Do i Have to take a picture of the fuel gage next time?Charlie T.
