I placed an order and had it changed to another location without an email notice, so went to the wrong place. The place I then had to pick up from was not open until almost 10am even thought the time listed for open on a Saturday was 9am. There were at least 12 people waiting out there for their trucks. I was told the fuel was full but it was slightly less than full but given how late I was, I had to leave to make the move happen on time. I would not recommend UHaul and had Budget had a drop off sight closer to where I was headed I would have used them.

No one was there at the time of our appointment. Had to call multiple times to get someone to show up. Lot was filled with customers in a similar boat. No one was there when I came to drop the van back off either and had to call again. Procedure was not explained by workers. Total charge was not given to me until I received receipt via email and no discount was applied.

Lot when we pulled in is littered with potholes. Worker came out, unhooked our trailer and said "we'll mail you a receipt" in a not very friendly way. Took 10 days to get a receipt. In the meantime, I got a threatening voicemail from Uhaul stating that the trailer had not been returned and I'd be charged $20 per day until it was. Luckily, I took pictures of the trailer, the worker, and their office (including potholes) as proof I returned the trailer. Not very customer friendly or appreciative that I used Uhaul - instead accused me of not returning the trailer and threatening to charge me more. Will never use Uhaul again.

I had scheduled a 9 am pick up time using the online service. When I arrived at the location, I followed all the steps, but the keys were not placed in the lockbox. I had to wait an hour until an employee arrived (note that the location’s posted hours state they open at 9, not 10). Then I had to wait in a line of other customers who were also experiencing problems with pick up. When I went to get my keys, the employee stated he was going to change my reservation. I flat out refused because the whole thing seemed sketchy. I was able to get my CORRECT rental at about 10:15. The whole process was extremely frustrating. Uhaul customer service was also really poor as no one knew how to assist me and just kept transferring my call to yet another person who didn’t know how to help. I got transferred about four times waiting almost 30 minutes until I just gave up.

The owner of this shop showed up 45 minutes late to open, and smelled like weed. He had no idea what was going on, I was late getting the truck, late getting my keys to my new apartment and ended up having to rush to get it back before close. On top of all of that, he gave me an empty uhaul which I returned at 1/8 full (more than the amount I used) and was charged for gas. I was also charged for coverage which I declined. Shut this guys branch down he’s an absolute embarrassment to your company and to humanity. Legitimately the worst experience you can have at a business, and perhaps the worst person I’ve ever had to deal with.

I was very disappointed to find out that my drop off location was changed on my moving day. I found out about that when I arrived to the original drop off place that was scheduled for me and had to go much further for the new one. No one called to inform me and that caused a lot of inconvenience. VERY DISAPPOINTING

Person responsible was 45min late opening in the AM there were 8 other people waiting. None of the equipment I ordered was provided (blankets, etc) The movers I hired recommended through Uhaul never showed up. Id like a full refund.

The office is an old trailer that is very dirty and poorly maintained. Unfortunately my picked Uhaul location did not have my equipment so I was forced to come to this location to pick up my truck. When I arrived they didn't have my reserved furniture pads/blankets so I had to go to another Uhaul location to get those. Additionally, the guy at the register only briefly reviewed my contract and did not offer to print it. Very unprofessional, I would NEVER go back.

Our reserved truck was no where to be seen. We called Uhaul and after an hour of being transferred from person to person on the phone they did nothing to help us. Thankfully Sunshine Movers had one cargo van left on their lot and allowed us to take it. I'm never renting a truck from Uhaul ever again.

About as unprofessional as it comes. This includes attire, attitude, organizational skills, and just about everything involved with being in business. They are an embarrassment to the U-Haul name. I came in to pick up a 26' truck and was first looked at as though I was insane and was completely bothering them by being there. I next watched the gentleman working the location go to every vehicle looking for keys to the only 26' truck on the lot. After 45 mins, another 26' truck pulls into the lot and the guy working the counter tells me I could have that one because he couldn't find the keys to the other one.

The location and the manager there were good. Overall my experience with U-Haul was a disaster though. I originally ordered a 10’ box truck at a closer location to my apartment for a 5pm pickup time, and as U-haul described it -“a “guarantee” that it would be available at that location. I opted out of earlier reservation times because the options did not guarantee that specific truck available. As it got closer to pickup time, I got an email stating that my truck was still guaranteed, but I had to pick it up from a further location. Once I got to the location, I am told that my truck is not available. What kind of “guarantee” is U-Haul offering? Not only was it not at the closer location that they “guaranteed” but no truck was available as “guaranteed”. Luckily the manager at the elston location was nice and got me into a pickup truck, but I have no respect for the people who coordinated that joke of a “guarantee”

We arrived at 8:30. Nobody turned up at the rental center until 9. You online system took 30 minutes to authorize us to take the vehicle. We only had the truck for two hours and this debatable made us 30 minutes late leaving. Ridiculous

Give correct lock box code, answer the "24 hr phone number," arrive before 9am on a Saturday, put rental blankets in truck ahead of time, not overcharge by 2 days for rental fees. Terrible 1st experience with UHaul and Sunshine Movers.

Scheduled to pick up in Morton Grove IL near our home. Got email to go to the Elston location at 8:30AM. No one there, no way to contact anyone. UHaul tried to get us key by using App- stuck me in endless loop of verification. YOUR APP IS USELESS AND FRUSTRATING! Worst experience I have ever had. Finally someone showed up around 9:30 or so. Truck was new- 160 miles- but someone had spilled some kind of sticky liquid in cab on seats.

I made a reservation for a 17’ truck. Once I arrived to the location there was no one there and the door was locked. Finally someone arrived and proceeded to tell me I can only get a 10’ truck. Which made the move way more difficult. The man working was rude and was terrible at his job. Overall terrible experience.

My experience was good, but everyone around me was having trouble getting they uhauls due to over laps in scheduling. I was very anxious and worried that they would not the truck I reserved over a month in advance...but they did. Service was quick and easy. The uhaul truck had no gas in the tank when picked up and was definitely not cleaned.

I am never going to use mobile pickup again. None of the furniture pads I ordered were with the truck. When I called to be sure I would not be charged or held accountable for them I was put on hold for 45 minutes during which I was transferred 3 times and ultimately was disconnected. When I called back someone was finally able to answer my question, but with no furniture pads several things were damaged.

No one was there at drop off at 9:45am so we did it online. There was another customer who needed help and no one was there. Initial receipt for charges had about 750 additional miles that weren’t actually correct but I think we corrected. We will be watching our credit card statement to confirm.

They wanted me to fill up the tank to a quarter, but when I got the truck it was basically empty (less than an 1/8) so I got charged $27 for gas and a fee for filling it up, but I shouldn’t be charged for that at all. The actual cost was over double what they estimated for me. The trunk was not swept out either when I got it.

Absolutely unethical location. Returned my truck on time (several days early) and then was charged for returning at a different time. Was also charged for not returning with the correct amount of gas even though I had proof on my phone with a receipt of having returned with the correct amount of gas. In addition to being charged the incorrect amount on my return, the staff was not helpful and instead preferred smoking and talking with their friends rather than helping paying customers. Absolutely AVOID this location. Unethical employees/owner.

Showed up at agreed pickup time (4:30pm) and no one was there. Called 10 times between 2 and 4:30pm, no one answered the phone. Then finally at 5pm, after I had already left, someone answered and said we could come pick the truck up. Arrived and waited 30 minutes inside before the truck was ready for me. I paid for furniture pads and didn't get them. To top it all off, the truck they gave me had literally no gas in it (it said "0 miles until empty" right when I turned the truck on) so I had to go get gas first thing, and I was already an hour behind schedule due to their terrible business practices. This was by far the worst U-haul experience I've ever had, I'd rather have a full shit in my pants for an entire week than rent a truck from these motherfuckers ever again.

Horrible experience. The uhaul was 45 minutes late. Management was incompetent at best. There was a lock on the uhaul that no one knew what to do with, management suggesting that we break it with a hammer. Despicable. Will not be using Uhaul ever again.

This location gave me a truck with a fuel level below the level on the contract. I filled up gas tank back to the level where it was when I received it and they sent me a final fuel level read well below the level that I returned it. It seemed very obvious that they were trying to charge me extra for gas no matter what and they ended up charging me $50 extra for gas and refueling fee. I do not recommend this location.

Latch mechanism was rusty and wound up jammed in open position, luckily after the contents I was moving had been removed. Was not the cleanest interior either. Positive was at pick up good service at check in and with the help hooking to the vehicle.

Try honesty! The attendant at the facility charged me for starting mileage of 780 when in fact it was 800 (I took a picture of the odometer at the time I got the truck). I was charged for 46 miles when I used 25 miles. He did not walk me around the truck to check for any existing damage to the van. I had to point out the damage to him before leaving the facility. If he over charged me I’m sure this was not his first time he has committed this type of thief to customers. Bad for business. Completely DISAPPOINTED in someone stealing from a customer. Shameful behavior!!!!!!

When we arrived for our reservation no one was at the location. By the time someone finally arrived, a line had formed further delaying the process that would have taken 5 minutes. By the time we got our truck we were set back nearly an hour. As a result, we nearly missed our reservation to move into our new building, creating an incredibly stressful experience for the entire day. I took time off of work to make sure my move efficient and this left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Not charge them twice 2 days in a row. Have them better manage their equipment. Have the smartphone option actually work instead of getting all the way to the end then not being able to use the camera or upload a picture separately. The team was nice and helpful but I’m pissed about the charges and I’m on hold with you now and I’d rather just listen to hold music than be told to do the review. Over and over. It’s fucking annoying. I just want my card to be charged the right amount and be done with this bullshit.

Make sure the equipment is fully cleaned before renting it out. The seats were dirty and it smelled like Marijuana. There was a drug scale in the glove compartment and we could have gotten in real trouble if we were pulled over and didn't even know it until the end

The location was a but weird and looked to be scary when open. We did return after hours and did not get to meet anyone that worked there. They could be awesome, however the location looked uninviting. Also, it did take us about 20 min to figure out how to return the equipment with the app. We finally did and found it to be a good experience.

We were on a timeline and could not bring the truck back to get a new one.....previous renter had smoked pot and cigs (one left in ashtray). I wiped everything down and ran air freshener all the way to Florida and it still smelled. We reported this at drop off. Other than that the rental itself and customer service were great. Not sure why we couldn’t return our truck closer to home.. that was an inconvenience.

I was overcharged -- I did not sign up for $14 insurance and I returned the truck with more than the amount of gasoline when I rente it, however, I was charged far more than the $19.95 plus mileage. I am very unhappy and when I tried to call the rental service location the phone number is disconnected -- this is fraud and I'm very unhappy

Be there/be open during regular open operating hours, especially when a customer has a pick-up appointment that is not self-service. I waited outside for 30 minutes (8:50am-9:20am) for John to arrive (late to work) and open the door, when this location supposedly opened at 8am. It was 28 degrees outside and I could not feel my toes. The inside "office" AKA trailer that should probably be condemned smelled like cat pee. The whole experience was horrible.

The trailer is good but the staff is not well-trained - he attached my hitch ball upside down to trailer! Luckily I found out before anything bad happened. The hitch ball is almost fall out and it was really DANGEROUS!

We went 12 miles. No paperwork was signed when my husband went to get the keys, they just looked at his drivers license and gave him the key. The Uhaul was on E, we added gas. we drove 12 miles and they claimed we drove 144! we were charged $244.72 for something that probably should have only been about $50. When my husband called they said the tank wasn't filled enough and so we got an extra charge. I am currently waiting on a manager to come in to rectify the situation. So far I have been told that I WILL get my money back but this is ridiculous and it should not have happened in the first place.

The UHaul Van had about an 1/8th of a tank of gas in it, had to immediately get gas for it before making any trips. The Left Rear tire had low air pressure, the warning light was even on and was not taken care of. Additionally, the back of the Van was not swept or cleaned. There was bits of drywall and screws all over the back. Not the quality of service I was expecting.
