I don't know if it was the fault of this location or if it is a corporate policy that does not forbid smoking in these vehicles but the cargo van I rented on January 10, 2020 reeked of tobacco smoke, there were butts on the floor of the van, and someone had expectorated on the floor next to the driver's seat. In addition, something had been spilled in the tray near the cup holder and been left to dry. There was also what appeared to be blood on the window control switch. I rent a van or truck from U-Haul about once a month for business and sometimes more often. This is the second experience I have had in the past year where the smell of cigarette smoke was so heavy that it gave me a headache. One way or another, these rentals are public accommodations and smoking is illegal in most of these. Please clean up your act and prohibit renters from smoking in these vehicles. Local affiliates need to monitor this and penalties need to be assessed. Honestly, it was disgusting.

The vehicle that I rented smelled like someone had just got done smoking a pack of cigarettes. There were several cigarette butts and a lighter on the floor. There was also some type of liquid in the cup holders that had more ashes from the cigarettes in them. I am not sure how the attendant at the pickup location didn’t notice this when he went to check the mileage. Fortunately, the items that I was transporting were wrapped in plastic so they did not end up smelling like cigarettes.

Nick went out of his way to make my renting experience a positive one. He checked me in personally and made it much faster than the self check in. I was glad to save alot of money compared to other rental companies. I will be returning to rent here again.

What went well: The vendor was friendly, the van was in pristine condition, the process went smoothly. Reason for poor review: The vendor asked me if I wanted to purchase insurance for $10 dollars. I said no. After returning the vehicle, we found out that the system had added $10 dollars for insurance anyway, and the vendor said "that is strange, I distinctly remember removing this from your contract". That made it sound like he was taking care of removing it. He then wouldn't tell me the final amount, but said "I just sent it to your email". It was weird to me that he wasn't upfront about it. Sure enough, the $10 was on my receipt, it hadn't been removed. I'm not too pleased with this but didn't think it was worth the effort to go back and complain. If the customer service team reads these and would like to make it right, I'd be happy to change the review to 5 stars. Otherwise, I simply won't be back.

I would like someone to contact me at 443-994-3535. I missed a meeting and also rushed to catch a flight home. When I got to the first location which was confirmed when I booked 10 days prior, they told me they weren't with uhaul for over a month.They sent me to another location but then when I called, I was transferred 3 times before someone told me to go to another location which was different. When I got there, the gentleman had no idea I was coming and I waited another 45 minutes at that location for him to wait on other customers first. It was a horrible experience and I would like some compensation for my time. The man was nice but the return experience was horrible and took 2 hours out of my very short time in Columbus. Please contact me.

The gentlemen who assisted me with my check out and check in for the truck were rude and seemed to be bothered that they had to deal to me... even asking me to turn the truck back in early because I had shown up early (8 minutes to be exact). I would NEVER go back to this location and would shy others away from using it as well!!!!

This was a bit different than previous experiences. No paperwork or receipts were given during pick up or drop off. Everything worked out fine in the end, but that lack of consistency was worrying at first.

The location itself left something to be desired. The parking lot was dirty and had trash blowing around. The lock box itself was a struggle as well, as about 20 keys were all jumbled together in the lock box and it took me several minutes just to find my key. I also requested that I receive moving blankets which were not anywhere in the truck. When I reached out to U-Haul for a refund, I didn't hear back and I STILL haven't heard back, and it's been weeks. The truck itself was fine, although the gas gauge was near empty so that was disappointing. Overall a subpar experience and I likely won't be using U-Haul again.

My pick up time was scheduled for 9:00 AM but the owner at the location didn’t show up until 9:30. This threw off our entire moving schedule as we had precise pickups times for furniture that day. Likewise the truck had a strange odor and still had empty cardboard boxes in the back.

Pick up and drop off could not have been more convenient for our purposes and both went smoothly. The cab of the truck was not at all clean but that wasn't a big deal to us... I mention it because it's part of the survey. The engine ran pretty rough - I had minor concern that we could have trouble - but, again, no problem. I wouldn't hesitate to rent here again for a local move. Thanks!

This location had a very confusing process of getting the keys. I felt like the online process was way more challenging than it needed to be. There were too many steps and pages, that I wish I would have been told to complete before I arrived at the location to pick up the truck. Additionally, the location did not at all feel safe. It's located at a liquor store and there was an unwell individual walking around and hitting the trucks/yelling at me. Because of this, I rushed the process of getting the truck and didn't notice until I had already left that I didn't have the SafeMove protection or a utility dolly. All turned out okay, but it was a bit nerve-wracking.

There was change in the console and a gatorade bottle in the door. The moving compartment wasn't awful, but not clean. It was fine though. Picking up was a wait. returning was easy, but he was on the phone the whole time. The location was great for OSU.

The service was fine but there is nowhere to park a car for an extended period of time in this neighborhood. Obviously not the fault of UHaul or the Dairy family but just a warning to others who plan to pick up a truck here. The whole neighborhood is pay to park/3 hour limit.

We were planning on an after hours pickup and that did not work at all so I would like to rank this one star - but it has nothing at all to do with this location. We were not able to pickup the truck until the store opened and they are great. I was not able to get any assistance from UHaul - after being on hold for a half hour. We had a short window to move my daughter and this did not hellp. 24 hour assistance is certainly a joke as is after hours pickups.

U haul needs to provide better instructions for the 24/7 reservation. If the owner had not appeared to help me, I would have had no idea where/how to obtain the key, etc. I called Uhaul and was put on an endless "hold" cycle, listening to their recordings.

The idea of mobile check-in sounds good on paper, but this was not a smooth process. I had scheduled a pick-up for 9am, and after multiple issues with the website and customer service, didn't leave with the truck until 9:40. Each person I spoke with over the phone was extremely helpful, but they were also confused as to why I was even able to book a 9am pick-up.

I used the online self serve feature theough uhaul and it was an absolute disaster. I was on the phone 4+ times because the website/app was not working properly and was given poor customer service on one of the calls. I spent an extra hour (or more) of my time between trying to pick the vehicle up and trying to turn the vehicle in. The final lady that i spoke with (who was very helpful) told me that uhaul was experiencing many problems with their self serve feautre and was able to finally turn in the vehicle on her end. This was beyond frusterating and i want some reimbursement for my troubles. If the feature has so many problems, then is should be disabled until all of the bugs are fixed as it would have been 10 times faster simply going through the normal channels of renting a uhaul. VERY disappointed.
