Set better expectations of using the app vs. in-person checkout/checkin. How to do it, what to expect, charges that could be encountered....it's not a difficult process, but people usually rent a uhaul once every few months at most, so it is unfamiliar and downloading an app for a one-day truck rental is a pain.

I tried renting a trailer from the Tulane Ave. U-Haul and they said my Jeep wouldn't tow the weight. However, your online reservation said I could. One wasted trip to U-Haul. So I called reservations and they found a trailer at The OW LLC. I think you need to get on the same page with other U-Haul locations and be consistent.

My rental reservation was at a different location, and I didn’t find out it was moved to this location until I made it to the original location. Location two wasn’t an actual “uhaul store” I’ll just put that out there too...Someone lied and said the called and left a message saying my rental location was changed. I wouldn’t have wasted gas had they did. Anyway! Once we made it to location two, there was one truck, the truck I rented. It was nasty, and smelled like a wet dog. I had to make that trip that day, or I would’ve declined the truck, it was that bad. My 11 year old daughter and I had to use an entire can of febreeze throughout our 10 hour drive; the worst. I’ve been using uhaul for years, and I’ve never had this problem or such a horrible experience. Hopefully no else has to go through that.

Ordered 3 dollys with my uhaul 4 weeks in advance. They did not have them when I showed up so I had to move a 3 BR house without any Dolly’s. Pretty disappointing considering I did everything I was supposed to do and UHaul failed to provide the equipment that I paid for. They refunded me but that did not solve the problem of needing Dolly’s on the day of my move.

Have properly operating equipment. Such as no broken lights, no broken mirrors and all accoutrements for the trailer still attached. For example the tow dolly we rented had to be exchanged at another location as soon as we hit the road because the fender was wagging in the wind and the brake lights and blinkers were not working . Also the mirror on the passenger's side of the truck was smashed.

1) The "check engine" light was on in the vehicle. 2) Gas seemed to be coming out of the engine at one point. 3) Vehicle didn't have a ramp (which wasn't mentioned on website or at time of reservation). 4) Employee that helped check in/out the vehicle had poor customer service. There was a long wait before being helped.

My only complaint, and this has nothing to do with The OW, was that the trailer required a 1 7/8 ball rather than the standard 2 inch ball, so that was a pain in the neck!
