My original booking got changed the day before to this new location and a different time, which was three hours later than I originally wanted. Then there is the whole painful process of self check in. That took close to an hour, despite me already having the app and all my info and payment on there. Then, the truck is in a tight parking in a mall. Try backing this beast without a backup camera and all by yourself. Then the dolly and blankets I requested were not there. And the pickup location has no connection with uHaul, they just provide their store wall for a lock box to drop off/collect the keys. It was my worst uHaul experience.

This is not a U haul owned facility. Looks like they are only proving the lock box. I had terrible experience with the mobile check out. The software could not locate me. Customer service was unable to trouble shoot for 15-30 minutes, it was realized the trucks are parked about 100 meter away in the parking lot and the GPS would not find me standing in of outside the store. After the location problem solved, could not upload the drivers license etc. Apparently Android has this problem. Finally with the help of the UPS store person I managed to get the key. I noted the fuel level ad instructed. When I returned I was instructed by the customer server person to just drop the key and take pictures for my records. I did that. I received bill yesterday with fuel charges to the tune of hundred. I had filled the gas before returning to the same level or more. I disputed the charge and sent my picture of furl level and mileage right away. I have not heard back anything.

Everything was good EXCEPT the vehicle did not have either the utility dolley OR the furtniture dolley I ordered, which caused some issues with moving and we had to go find a dolley from another location.

Advise them to note the “miles to empty” on the fuel gauge as this also helps to know how much to refill the tank with vs just going by the fuel gauge itself.

My truck drop off day was thanksgiving, so there was nobody there.

The doors of the 9' van we rented locked us out and we were stranded for 7 hours with our phones and purses inside the van. Why did the doors automatically lock like that? When I called Customer Service upon my return trip and told them this, the agent stated that she had heard this happening to another customer the week before. Also, we returned the van within our return time slot, and filled the tank to even more than what was in the tank at the start. As this location had no actual personnel on site- I called that day and several days after to ensure it was indeed indicated 'returned'. It wasn't as no one had gone to check the returned keys in the lock box. I was assured not to be concerned. 5 days later I receive a call stating that my account was not closed and I was asked if I still had then van!! For the love of GoD!!! That got resolved quickly as all the notes were on my file and the person calling me could see them. However, then I see my receipt ( finally) and they've charged me for an empty gas tank. When I called them AGAIN regarding this- they replied that someone else had used the van after me- and because my account wasn't closed, and the new customer had not filled the tank at all- it was my issue. They reversed those charges when- again, they could see all the notes throughout the week that I had been trying to get my account closed.. The whole experience was so frustrating and maddening. And I still don't understand how the van locked us out. Luckily there's rarely a need for me to rent Uhaul. And from now on- I will seek any other option at all cost, than to ever rent from Uhaul again.

Van was buried in a snow drift upon arrival for my 'automated' pickup using my cell phone. No shovel or snow brush provided. Was left to return to my vehicle to use my own snowbrush to dig the vehicle out which took over half an hour before I was on the road. Ther was also a note on the van saying "Please do not oark here, stall is reserved." Someone should at least check on the vehicle after return and before another customer uses it. We live in Winnipeg which gets snowstorms. The customer should not be left to dig out the vehicle. Or should be instructed to bring a shovel. Unimpressed. Piss-poor customer service.

I added a dollie to my reservation, it was not there with the car. Had trouble for the self pick up, cause for some reason I was being asked for a US photo ID even though I am in Canada.

There are no visible, efficient signage to indicate where the rental vehicle was. My 24/7 mobile sign-in was not working, and had it not been for the open UPS store to field my inquiry, I wouldn't have been able to use my rental. The virtual-to-reality flow of the user experience has many issues and is not user or first time friendly, which not only discourages customers from coming back, but will deter future customers through word of mouth. The videos meant to show the procedure of pickup and drop off are helpful, but they in no way match the website layout, so the prompts make no sense. I would suggest sticking to in-person sign ins and vehicle pick ups for now.

Key wasn't in lock box. Spent 30 minutes on hold and was told that my rental was canceled. Then 2 days later I get billed $300. Based on the math I would have had to have travelled at 126 km per hour for the entire time they accused me of having had the rental. Its not even possible! So then today I spend 30 minutes on hold to get through and then another 20 with the rep only to be told that someone will contact me in 72 hours. What is happening! How come you are so disorganized?!

Send copies/pics of the pick-up statement like they used to when you went in and signed the rental agreement. This way you can see the start mileage and gas gauge for comparison upon return.

Vehicle was due for service/ oil change. UPS store front could use signage to help you find the pickup location, which is behind the retail complex.

i dropped off the vehicle after hours and it was difficult to understand where to park the vehilcle so i parked it in a spot right by the UHaul Key Dropbox.

We ordered and paid for an appliance dolly and it was not in the truck when we picked it up. We had to make another trip to another location to get one. It was a hassle. And the truck was covered in snow and ice when we picked it up. It took 30 minutes to thaw it out and get the windows clear enough to drive.
