Tell the truth if you don't rent ten footers to go out of town then say so, you first agreed to rent one from Gatineau to Montreal two weeks in advance then called the night before saying there was no ten foot truck and agreed to rent the fifteen foot for the same price, gas cost $100 bucks though. I stopped in at two places in Gatineau and ask if they had a ten foot truck to rent to go to Montreal they both said the same thing we don't rent the ten foot truck to go out of the city we keep them in town easier to rent So other than that it was kind of nerve racking driving that big truck in the city of Montreal. but other then that was happy I got there and drop off at the agreed spot. Truck was clean comfortable.

While this location was good, it was 45 km away from where I asked for my original pickup to be. It seems like a rather odd and arbitrary choice, and it did make the pickup a little inconvenient.

When arriving in at the location, I found the staff to be less than helpful. I barely received a hello when walking in the door. While their system was "down" they did not communicate that to us when we walked in the door we simply had to listen for context clues on what was happening. we finally received service after I had finally given up on communicating with the people running the location and openly announced to my partner that I was looking on my phone for another U-Haul in the area. Which was at best a bare minimum of customer service. On to the truck, upon opening the back of the truck, we found left overs from the last move that had happened along with garbage that was left in the cube area of the van. neither attendant bother to walk around the van with us and check the condition with us, simply handed us the keys and charged my credit card. On top of all of this the truck had limited fuel in the tank under 1/4th of a tank, while we were not travelling far, the truck on the whole did not feel look after and neither did we.

Lack of communication between U-Haul service in Aylmer and U-Haul in Hull , my 15 feet truck was in Hull instead of in Aylmer. Therefore I wasted my time and movers had to wait. I should have received a Gmail and a phone call 48 hours ahead of time, explaining the change of location to pickup the 15 feet truck.

I reserved online and didn't want CDW (insurance) and when I picked up the vehicle nobody asked me about insurance. After I dropped off the car and they sent me the receipt I realized that they charged me for insurance. That location they acted they cannot speak english, I called customer service. Customer service told me location sent you a text about that. The text they sent it to me it was in French and I could'nt understand that. U-Haul is an international company and didn't provide everything in English. That location is taking advantage of that.

The girl that helped me had her headphones in and didn't take them out when I was there. When I dropped off the truck, she had a bunch of friends in the shop with her. The truck I rented was almost empty, and there was no windshield washer fluid. The box of the truck was muddy and there was something sticky on the dash console. My phone is still sticky from what ever it was.

They made it so uhaul overcharged me for gas when I returned the vehicle the same amount of gas I picked it up with. Would not recommend for uhaul deposits!

C’est ma pire expérience avec le sévices au la clientèle. Honnêtement horrible!! Je suis arrivé ils m’ont dit qu’ils avaient pas de camions quand le parking était plein. Je suis parti voir un autre endroit à quelques bâtiments de la, il avait pas de camions du tout et je pouvais le voir. Je suis alors retourné et une autre personne a dit que oui ils avaient des camions disponibles. J’ai attendu parce que là mme savait pas comment faire son travail et aller dans le système. L’autre uhaul proche était bcp plus loin et c’est la seule raison que j’ai resté là. Après 30min ou plus la Mme me sort une facture de $200 pour un 10" qui coutait 19 plus le kilométrage. Ridicule!! J’ai pas payé bien sûr, j’ai demandé son wifi pour faire la réservation moi même puis il m’ont pas donné. J’ai du partir chez moi pour avoir le wifi et faire la réservation moi même. Ça m’a coûté $40 puis la Mme voulait me charger $200!! J’étais vraiment fâché parce que en plus on avait déjà perdu tout le matin a cause d’une personne qui pouvait pas faire son travail et était même pas prête à m’aider ou bien faire SON TRAVAIL. Honnêtement pire expérience… ils m’ont chargé plus d’essence en plus… je suis vraiment déçue

Everything quite good. But the mirror on the right was not adjusted so I used only the left one. I'm not sure how you could improve that, perhaps have a sticker explaining the mirror adjustment, something like "Check mirror adjustment", but I guess that's on the customer, not sure.

My truck rental experience was highly unsatisfactory. The rental was delayed, and upon receipt of the vehicle, I noted discrepancies in the mileage recording. What concerned me even more was the apparent forgery of my signature on the rental agreement, where the initial mileage was stated as 134 900 miles-an oddly precise and likely inaccurate figure. Furthermore, the check engine light remained consistently illuminated during my rental, indicating a need for an oil change. Upon return, I discovered an overcharge for mileage and a fuel fee, despite minimal deviation from the intended route. While I admit to a slight error in refueling, I believe this should have been mitigated due to the substantial delay I experienced during pickup and the unsettling matter of the forged signature. I initially spoke with Theo, who conceded to a mistake in the mileage conversion and offered a cash reimbursement of $40, a practice seemingly at odds with U-Haul policies. Subsequent attempts to resolve the matter through U-Haul's customer service proved unfruitful, despite assurances of assistance. Given the lack of resolution and the forgery of my signature, I am left with no recourse but to consider pursuing legal action to recover the excess charges, court costs, and lost wages unless a full refund is promptly issued for the disputed charges.

The door to the trailer was stuck open. It would have been nice if the trailer had been properly inspected and made ready before pick up. Also, the U-haul rep was not physically present. I had to organise everything over the phone…

The location was closed on a Monday morning at 10h30! It was supposed to be opened from 8h30 to 18h00 Monday to Friday, whih is why I accepted that location for the return . I was not prepared to do the closing online/on site and had returned the keys when i realized through the app that I needed to take pictures and be onsite to complete the transaction.. Lesson learned for me; I will only deal with Uhaul locations that offer the full line of services (such as Crémazie in Montreal and St Louis in Gatineau) where the staff is competent /friendly /helpful, where you can buy supplies and other services and where Uhaul rentals is their main business and not a side hustle. Therefore in the future I may have to look elsewhere if my rental is transferred to a second rate location as it happened this time.

The location for the rental was changed the night before. The truck had no gas in it, it had about 1/8 of a tank. Furthermore, the cabin was all dirty and the check engine light was on. This was a very frustrating way to start a long move day.

Very filthy rental cargo van. Have to clean it up prior to use it. Lots of garbage, left over stuff. Plus on contract there was 3/4 full gas tank but when I picked it up, only 1/4 left. Really gross place, need to clean up "office". There was a crack on the windshield.

I was overcharged. I returned the truck cleaner than from what I was given yet I was charged a cleaning fee. Additionally, I was charged an extra 19 litters of gas. I returned the truck with 1/8 tank. The tank holds 155 litters of gas. 1/4 tank is 39 litters. 1/8 tank is 19 litters. I was charged for 38 litters. That means they claimed I returned the truck with 1 litter of gas. I have the picture of the gas gauge. If 1/8 tank equals 1 litter then the tank would only hold 8 litters! U-Haul has not assisted me in rectifying this. It's absolutely ridiculous. I have spent hours trying to fix this but instead they charged me a late payment fee even after I tried to pay this. It's a big joke. DON'T RETURN EQUIPMENT HERE!!!

I have been trying to settle a gross overcharge and have had no help whatsoever on a previous return. I returned the truck cleaner than when I picked it up but was charged a cleaning fee. I was overcharged for 19 litters of gas. U-Haul has not helped me. Poor service all around.

Very disatisfied with my experience this time around with U-Haul at this location. Was supposed to pick up the truck at 9:00am on August 06, 2022. When i got to the pick up location, there was no one work there to give me the keys to the truck. The owner of the business partnered with U-Haul had sent a friend to tell us he was on his way. After 30 min of waiting, i started to get impatient and asked where the owner was where i was told that i could either wait or go somewhere else. I had to wait until 9:45am (and make the moving crew wait as well) until someone showed up to serve me and give me the truck. During my inspection, there was blood smeared on the inside door panel that i had to clean myself, isnt the U-Haul provider supposed to ensure the trucks are clean before renting? Totally disgusting!! We returned the truck for 4:26pm same day and once again no one was there so we dropped the keys in the drop off box. When we received the finalized bill, we were charged DOUBLE the mileage we used plus a after hours fee when we had returned the truck before 6:00pm. This brought our bill to $234 instead of roughly $150.00. How does this location get away with such horrible customer service and ways of functioning/disorganisation. If you are proposed to pick your truck up at this location, ask for litteraly anywhere else.

The vehicle was a lil dirty inside but nothing serious. I don't understand why it costs $122,74? I was under milage, under time limit requested, had no dolly which I preordered at an extra cost, and I even brought it back with extra fuel.

I have rented cargo van 9 and the mealage I drived was about 18 miles(29 killometers) that gasolin consumption would be about 1 galon(3,78 litr) while in the bill the fuel charge is calculated 11 litre!!!! How could this be possible?? Considering the consumption of only less than 4 litr, the gasolin tank was not less a quarter of capacity so i should not pay for extra fuel service fee of 30$ . I insist that the mistake to be corrected as soon as possible. I am waiting for the refund.

Make it clear that when you return the unit, you are not expected to stick around. When returning any rental car, you do a hand-off and walk-around, and at this location they do that later without you being present which I found a bit weird.

Short story: Equipment ok,service poor. Long story: When I arrived on location, there were no one behind the front desk. It wasn't until after 5 minutes that a mechanic from the garage came in asking if I had been served. After I replied no, he told another employee that was behind a curtain not even 5 feet away if he had notice my presence, which he had not. Confirming the booking was then fine, no issues. For the trailer hook up, no walk around were done, the employee had issues with the hook up, I provided assistance but then he just left and I finish the hook up myself. I did the lights check all alone and once I was ready to leave, he asked if I needed more help which I said no. The trailer did satisfied my need. All went well from an equipment perspective. After returning the trailer less then 3 hours later at 1:15pm, I was greeted by a sign in the window that said returning in 15 minutes. I waited for 35 minutes then decided to call the number of the business. The person answered, I explained that I was on site to return the trailer and he said just un hook it and leave it where you found it and we will send the receipt via email. No disconnection help. Other U-Haul location have done all the hook ups and disconnection. I will not use this location again and will not recommend to anyone.

It took a long time to be served, instructions were not clear, the clerk would not come outside to do the final check of the trailer with me, forcing me to trust that they would not find some fake damage. Overall a a bad experience.

Hitch was wear enough that my new 2 inch ball was loose , witch made me wonder . Also brake actuator was really rough when hard sudden braking.

When you cancel with short notice honour the original price. Paid triple what I was supposed to die to the round trip trailer being canceled for an unknown reason and nothing being available nearby in the time frame required. I was told I could drop the trailer at any uhaul location. That apparently only meant uhaul buildings not ANY uhaul location.

Lorsque j'ai retourné la remorque, le personnel sur place n'est même pas allez voir la remorque. Je leur ai indiqué où j'avais déposé la remorque, et ils ont dit "ok c'est beau". Aucune vérification. J'ai remis la remorque dans le même état que je l'ai pris, mais je trouve ça bizarre qu'on vérifie pas, une approche un peu "non-chalante".

Employee had difficulty communicating, language issues. Pickup location charged us for insurance even though we specifically declined online. They did not provide contract at pickup employee only had a cellphone. Only noticed insurance when they emailed receipt. They would not correct so are communicating with Uhaul customer service to get a refund.

I said yes about recommending this location to a friend, however I must note that the UHaul representatives had mistakenly given my 15' truck to another customer, fortunately they had 2 other 15' trucks available. The issue was that I had to wait almost an hour for things to get sorted out. Overall not a bad place.

The employee here was very helpful, but it would have been nice if UHaul hadn't preset my drop off location in Quebec (without notifying me in advance and also making it unable to be changed) when my final destination location was in Ontario.

Truck had 1/8 of tank remaining, the contract they printed showed 1/4, girl told me last customer brought it back low made the change on the copy she gave me told me to take a picture which I did. Did not sign contract as it was incorrect. Return was scheduled for 8:30 pm returned truck at 7:58pm took pictures with time stamp and location of mileage and fuel level. returned truck at 1/4 tank. next day get a charge of over 400$ saying late return and returned with less fuel then indicated. checked their online reviews this is something they do on a regular basis. awaiting u-haul customer service to sort out the charges. i know standards are not high to be a dealer but when they are scamming your customers maybe they shouldn't be a dealer???
