Im not happy at all. I paid double price to rent this 5x9 trailer so I could drop it off a bit (12miles) closer to me in Greenfield. It was a 24hr rental, but I brought it back the same day to the agreed upon location in Greenfield because according to their hours, they're closed at noon on Saturdays at the drop off location, I brought it by at 11am and they were closed. I did this because they're closed Sunday, so I went ahead and tried to bring it in ahead of the agreed upon rental. They charged me an extra 20,00 $ after hours fee on top of the already doubled fee? What? Why, how do they figure this was after hours? There was no explanation, just a charge to my card. I never mentioned the guy working in the Northampton location, zero personality, seemed annoyed, but whatever, I get it, maybe he hates his job. This was just the icing on this terrible experience though, no more Uhaul, I'll go to Home Depot next time, I'm finished. I also know that no human being will even see this review and it won't be responded to. It's not the 20 bucks, it's just the entire way this went down, from beginning to end, not a customer friendly experience and this is why these faceless monsters are failing. Graham HaywardGraham H.

The worst rental experience I have ever had! I reserved a truck more than a month in advance for a nearby location. Less than 24 hours before pick-up, I was told I had no choice but to travel 1 1/2 hours and 50 miles to pick up the truck. No allowance for the 1/4 tank of gas it cost me. Absolutely horrible customer service. I will never rent from U-Haul again. Also, the windshield wipers were very poor, and the truck leaked on the furniture I was moving.Thomas L.

The pickup staff were lovely and helpful, but the circumstances of not having the booked truck and car tow nor having any backup options for a reservation booked well over a month in advance was abysmal and almost completely derailed my move. Having the location moved from my original location to this one 45 min away added 3+ hours of driving (including 2,5 in the truck) and multiple additional hours of stress and headache into my move.Matthew M.

Uhaul sucks! I had a pickup reservation and the day before I get a call saying that the location does not stock pickups even though it was on their website! So I scrambled to find something else and reserved a van. The morning of, I go to pick up the van I get another call and someone calls me again telling me the van is not available because someone crashed it. So I ask him if he has anything else for me and he says only an hour away! So I go to the rental place to tell the guy to cancel the item because I have no truck to transfer it And I happen to look next door and see a large Uhaul box truck and it's available. Your service sucks!!! And I got a truck but paid a lot more for it!!!!!â˜¹ï¸Timothy S.
I have received a 50 dollar credit due to the frustration of trying to pick up a uhall truck on a Sunday via mobile phone. When I made the reservation with a live person fromthe location I was not given any instructions or information on how to go about executing obtaining the truck via a website. I arrived in the Am on Sunday and went to the website sent via text the uhall website was not able to obtain my location. It took 4 phone calls and 1 hour 30 mins to solve the issue. My phone blocked the request to give uhall the location! I cannot be the first frustrated person who has encountered this. The truck did also smell like BO. And there was a huge carpenter's bee nest next to the key box. Apropos to the situation for sure.Rayna D.
The truck was disgusting. There was cigarettes ashes all over it. It smelled horrible. If I didn't need this truck so badly I would not have taken it. I called for a week U-Haul places in Brattleboro, Hinsdale, Keene and Geenfield. I got this one last minute. It still needs to be a clean truck. WTF we are in a pandemic. It's a good thing we carry hand sanitizer in are cars. I want a refund on a part of my rental. I don't want it for free because nothing is for free. But I should be compensated for having rented a disgusting truck. I have pictures I was I could add. A manager was supposed to call me before I was Billed. WTFangie J.

The location had a truck but was dead when I went to start the truck causing hours lost out of my day. The Uhaul customer service once you get to them was not helpful at all. I had to rent a larger truck which was told over phone has same gas mileage however Uhaul website and common sense says otherwise. I wanted 10 foot truck that averages 12 but had to use 15 foot truck which averages 10. I was basically told to pound sand when I asked for some sort of compensation for all the inconveniences my day had from mot having a truck available after securing day before and calling uhaul center to ensure an early pick up. On way I was trying to get my truck done as much as possible but said had to wait till opened. Once finally got a customer service person she said that I would have to go back to Greenfield MA, where I lived from 2 towns over where I was told a truck was ready. Said that I would get 50 $money back, which still havent seen in billing. All and all took over 3 hours to just get truck in first place causing me to miss being with my family for most of the day because we hot traffic when we wouldnt have adding hours on day and fuel burned at a faster rate than should have been. I called Uhaul customer service when trip completed to say what happened and see what would be willing to do for my troubles and after being on hold 15 mins then transferred the girl said sorry sir nothing we can do for you. I'm very displeased with whole situation and as you can see from my past bookings I use UHAUL fairly frequently but believe I will be going to one of the others in my next time.Matt F.
