My comments are not for this location, but for U-Haul in general. The fact that I booked and was charged for my truck rental 1 month before my trip and then called 24 hours before and told I wasn't going to be able to get a truck or the auto transport I added on to the order was absolutely RIDICULOUS! We did end up getting a U-Haul truck, but it really put a damper in our trip by not being able to get the auto transport. We were traveling with a toddler and cat. We had to split up our family which added extra unnecessary stress to our trip. I don't think the compensation of not being charged for an extra day (which was something we had to do because of U-Haul not having a location near us for 24/7 pickup) and not charging us for the extra miles (which again was an issue because we had to pickup 39 miles away from our preferred location) is not enough for the inconvenience we experienced by using U-Haul. I would not recommend this service to anyone ever due to the terrible systems you have in place for renting equipment. Next time I would rather pay someone else more money for something more reliable.Rick P.

The floor was filthy with grease like substance which got on the bottoms of our boxes and anything touching the floor, not in an area where I could open up the trailer for a pre rental look inside. It was hitch up and go, staff were very friendly!LORI S.

The check engine light came on. Also, I was charged for the insurance when I should not have been. I opted out when I reserved. Somehow it was added. This location was VERY slow. I waited around while the rep took a long time to figure out the process. They argued with me when I insisted they remove the insurance charge and then pretended to call uhaul and claimed the charge would be removed despite the fact that it was not.Scott L.

Require your locations to have dedicated UHaul staff in order to maintain equipment and wait on Uhaul customers. Had to wait for the staff to complete my pickup paperwork three different times so they could go pump 10 $worth of gas or ring up a store sale of junk food. I had a contract for over 1 700 $. Never felt like my Uhaul rental was important enough to warrant their full attention. Truck was filthy inside and out, not mechanically up to the expectation of a Uhaul truck. We had a reservation for a few days in advance so attention should have been given to their Uhaul fleet and customer.Donald R.
I was charged for an extra day even though I returned the trailer a day early. My contract clearly states 3 days and I returned it in 2. So the mobile app the return store was using was incorrect. Called Customer Service and that is being handled but somewhere the system was wrong.Larry W.

The truck was filthy. The cab floors were covered with dried mud. When I opened the back of the truck the box had a terrible odor. If I had not been on a tight schedule I would have brought the truck back to Truckes. The staff at Truckes are very nice but someone dropped the ball. I was told to just return the truck like I found it. There was no offer to clean it when I picked it up. When I got home to load I spent an hour cleaning the truck before I was comfortable enough to even use it. My number is 503-739-0181 if anybody cares.Pat M.

I reserved a cargo van from U-haul in Gearhart OR. When I arrived at U-haul Sat am I was told there were 3 cargo vans available but all 3 had been recalled and therefore unavailable for rent. They called U-haul in Seaside and arranged for another cargo van. Fortunately the distance between the 2 was less than 10 miles.julie W.

I reserved two vans at the Gerhart location three months in advance, and the week before pick-up I was told I had to drive to Seaside to get the second van. Extremely poor customer service to make a change last minute. If I had another option I would never use U-Haul again.todd G.

Better Customer Service and also not adding additional charges that were not explained at the time of rental. So that when the truck was returned, it brought the expected bill from 225 $up to over 400 $. I am not Happy with anything to do with U-Haul. I know that I kept the truck for an extra day but both me and my son are disabled and we had to wait for some one to help us to unload itpaul S.
The people at Truckie's one stop turn picking up a uhaul from the typical hour long wait of questions and upselling back into the six minute business transaction it should be. I was insured, fueled and on the road with my uhaul at 9:06am this morning. I dont know if that's a record where you're from, but it made a difference today.Jake S.

Reserved from Seaside Oregon To Albuquerque NM by CC and phone a 4X8 Trailer and was told: 15,00 $ a day, to buy a hitch 20,00 $. Arrived and was told a hitch was 37. and change and the rate was 142,00 $ for 4 days travel . When I asked the difference in the quote was told the lady who made the reservation was mistaken and not available. No apologies, No consideration for the customer and Deceptive marketing. Makes Uhaul , liars and cheats. I will get the word out to other vets and active duty service personnelMelvin D.
It was not explained to only fill the gas up 1/4 tank and I filled it 80,00 $. I was supposed to pick it up I Gearhart but I had to drive to Seaside. My experience with the Seaside return location was horrible. I will never use U-Haul again because of this experience. From telling me one thing and then changing the story when I arrived at their location when I needed to keep the truck longer, to charging my credit card twice, to telling corporate that the truck had not been returned when it had been, nothing about that location was positive. Because of their incompetence I had to spend my time and effort to correct things ... very poor business.KIM S.

Locations aren't the problem. The U-Haul company is the problem; I reserved a 20' truck several weeks in advance and they substituted a smaller 15' truck. That sucked! Of course, I could have driven 50 miles out of my way to pickup a bigger truck that I didn't need. I can't think of another business that allows you to order something from their site in advance and substitutes a smaller item and the only option is for you to drive 50 miles to another brand store to get a bigger item that you don't need.
