Now returning my vehicle to 220 East 117 st, NY NY 10035 was a nightmare. I returned after hours and wasn't able to to access myuhaul.com for return. Called customer service who left me on hold for more than 2 hrs. At this point phone died. I called following day was on hold for 40 minutes when Uhaul called me inquiring where was the truck. Your customer service team were not able to locate the truck nor speak to anyone at the drop off facility for over a week. I called everyday with no luck for a closed account. I was told I would be contacted in return, but no one has yet to call and it has been a week and a half already. Smh losing faith in this company rapidly.Michael J.

The first night I booked a pick up where you do it yourself. Apparently they allowed me to do this but then after an hour waiting on hold the customer service rep told me this location doesn't allow that type of service. So we re booked for the following day. Then I pick up the uhaul and nobody is inside for 20 mins. Only one employee working who is parking uhauls. This is a very poorly run place on so many levels.MINDYLEE C.

The location was easy to find. My issue was that I was able to reserve a vehicle for 7:30 AM pickup but upon check-in, I was instructed by the U-Haul website to wait until 8 AM for the location to open to pick up the vehicle. This set me back two hours. Once a staffer tended to me the check out process went by rather quickly. The check-in process was very simple.ANTONIO C.

I reserved a few dolly carts for my move, but they weren't available the day of pick up. Also, I tried calling the location multiple times to extend how I could keep the truck for the day and was always sent to voicemail. I called about 10 times during the day with no follow up calls.Russell V.

Location was fine, the man who checked us out when we returned the van was excellent and very helpful. However they did not answer the phones when called and the voicemail message said different hours than were actually operated. We had to keep the uhaul for the full 24 hours versus the 8ish hours we had planned and paid even more money to park it overnight. Also, online it should be more specific about where and how to return unused boxes as it cannot be returned everywhere. Had to drive to a separate uhaul location to return and even there it took 30 minutes for them to figure out how to refund me as I ordered online. Overall a very negative experience. I forget the gentleman's name who assisted me, but he was great. He was very friendly and explained the rental process clearly. From start to finish, everything was smooth and seamless and quick. I would definitely rent from and recommend this location again.TATIANNA ELIZABE M.

I was charged extra for gas fees when I left the tank with more than I was given. Also, I was charged extra for time for 9:30 am pickup when I reserved the vehicle for 1:30 pmCHRISTYJ B.

The mileage calculation for the rental was wrong due to a mistake in the departure miles logged in the systems. We were promised this will be fixed (we were charged for 56 miles instead of 13 miles that we did). The reservation was for 2 hours and 15 miles and instead of refund us for 2 miles we were extra charged more than 80 $because the reservation was changed to daily. We are still trying to contact the branch or customer service to get this resolved with no luck! I've opened a dispute with my credit card company. Worst experience ever.Eddy H.

It's extremely difficult to pick up a trailer at this location due to it being a busy and crowded one way street. People were idle parking in front of the lot exit to run into the deli nearby so it was a bit problemtic watching every person in line have to ask someone to move so they could exiy.Lambert R.

Location never opened for me to take the van. Customer service was very helpful and got me another van on a different location but I still had movers organised to come (through haul app). But definitely biggest problem for that day is that you as a company are renting vehicles that are not suitable for snow at all. I didn't hurt myself and anyone else but that was pure luck.Sanja V.

Well, as soon as I got into the uhaul. I saw it was filthy, clearly not sanitized or following Covid protocols. That's fine, I carry my own wipes and sanitizer so I can over look that. What I can't over look is that there was a blunt full of weed that was on the floor between the seats. I don't care what people do but god forbid I would have gotten pulled over I would have been arrested. Stupid shit like that can ruin someone's life. So the people in this location should wake up the fuck up, pick up a wipe and clean out the vehicles so things like this don't happen, but hey I still had to pay 200 $for a bullshit experience that could have cost me my freedom.DANIELJOSEPH F.

The equipment was not ready when I arrived for the reservation. I had to wait until it arrived from somewhere else. That is unacceptable if we had an arrangement already made. When I book I expect to pay for a product that is ready, cleaned, and prepared. The equipment was damaged, dirty, and had very low on gas. Have someone pick up the phone I had to reach the location for a sudden particular matter and no one ever picked up the phone of the local number listed for that location. I suggest that more information could be added for the drop offs after hours. I found myself not knowing where to park the van because of a lack of space on the street and a local guy told me to park it wherever on the Avenue which left me a little doubtful about how you would find the van? I was charged after returning the boxes for not folding the furniture pads. I've just looked over the material I was emailed and nowhere in the material or in the box (I read the instructions posted on the door of the box, they only covered packing) did it say to fold the blankets. After paying thousands of dollars they want to squeeze out another 25 bucks? I had a very good experience up until then and it makes me want to leave a bad review and recommend a different carrier. It's absolutely not worth it to sneak in these fees and leave a satisfied customer feeling conned in the last inch of a 5000 mile journey.Martin V.

This location was fine! My original reservation at 130th Street was abysmal from employee not showing up at reserved time and the location was not visible and hard to find. Dave at the 117th Street location was excellent and took care of me and others who were affected by the other location. Service and customer service was excellent and timely.DIANE M.
I would not recommend this location to anyone, nor would I rent or drop off here again. The location is on a busy one wya street. The parking lot is just a lot, with no room to maneuver and it does not fit all the trucks. Thus, we are left playing Tetris with the truck we are trying to return and the one coming before to try and fit. We should not be asked to this as it is just asking for an accident to happen. If there is no place to properly park, then u-haul should provide personnel to do it accordingly.Agatha L.
