I have health issues, with that being said I had to find the equipment and lift the heavy cargo trailer by myself and move the VARY HEAVY THING IN THE GRAVEL TO GET IT ON THE TOW BALL. NO HELP, NO NOTHING.. IT WAS ON THE GROUND.....

Arrived to pick up truck, sign on door said lobby was closed due to covid and to call a number. No problem there, completely understandable. Location opened at 8am, I was there at 8:05 and the phone rang ... and rang ... and rang. No one picked up. During this time, an employee was leaving the lobby to go check on trucks and walked past me two times, and just told me to keep calling. Heaven forbid THEY help me. 20 minutes later, when she walked past me again, she was shocked that I was still trying to call. She went in and called ME so we could start the checkout process. Ridiculous. After we came back to return the truck, the only check out process didn't work as the system would not accept any of the required photographs I took of the truck. I just ended up saying "forget it" and throw the keys in the box and figured I'd pay whatever "convenience" fee was necessary to end the experience.

I had an appointment, this did not matter. Moreover, local people do not know how to read a fuel gauge. Finally, the process to rent had her sending me the drivers license of another person and wanting me to click “confirm.” Not once, but twice, was I sent someone else's drivers license. Overall very disorganized check-in with confirmation only an hour before pick-up.

The inside of the U-Haul was not clean when we got it. The driver side inside the truck had mud in it when we got it. You couldn't us the seat belt because it was under the plate under the passenger's seat.

The smart phone pick up process is tedious. It helps when the office is closed; however it seems to repeat much of the same info as when I reserved the truck. Also the “locate your truck” guide during the pick up process wasn't clear. Thank you.

I reserved the truck from 9am to 9pm. I received a text a day or 2 prior to pickup saying now your truck won't be ready until 11:15.... then I arrive to pick up and lobby shows open until noon and it's closed so I had to do self pick up. Upon completion of the self pick up process, I received a text saying thank you for your rental, return the truck by 3:45 today! So I paid for an entire day and got it for 4 hours!!!! Extremely frustrating!

The insides of the trucks weren't thoroughly cleaned as we are still facing a global pandemic. In additional it was a difficult process for pick up and drop off.

Trailer was missing wiring extension, was one of the older units on the lot and had seen better days. It operated well and didn't leak.

The process was difficult for an elderly person, my parents. Not everyone has a smartphone or email. The pick up process was frustrating for him. Luckily he had a friend with him who did own a smartphone but the process stll took them 30 minutes. Also the truck was not well maintained. Two flat tires during the move. One before even leaving the lot.

Your pricing is far above all other companies without any discounts for educators students AAA and in the future i would never ever ever ever rent from you nor would i ever recommend anyone rent from unhaul. Your franchise or employees are rude and disrespectful to clients and i had the worst time renting and returning. During the time we are in you would think you would have better customer service. I know for a fact i would rather drive an extra hour to return a truck then ever rent from unhaul again. Worst experience ever and this is not my first time renting a truck.

We made our reservation early so that we could have it at 8 am for our moving day. I got a call a week later asking if we could do 9 am. When I said no the lady told me I really didn't have another option even though I had made my reservation first. The day of moving we showed up at 8:50 am to start the online check in. We were on the lot for an hour because the store has two trucks returned at the same time and they put the mileage in wrong. We were told to wait 10 minutes until the manager got in. We had to call back after 20 minutes because we were going to be late to the closing on our new house. The lady finally told us it was fine to go but to take a picture of the mileage and gas. She called me back to tell me to not complete the online return I asked if there was some way to remedy the situation since we had such a bad experience. I was told they did the best they could, but I couldn't even get a call back when I watched the manager walk through the door. I will never use this location again, and I will not hesitate to caution others from using them as well.

The staff at this location were friendly and helpful even with all this pandemic stuff to deal with and having to work over the phone and online and only in person as required. The only issue I has was trying to extend use of rentals a few hours more and got charged for a 2nd day although things were returned within 24 hours.

The problem came with pickup and return. We did not have a smart phone and upon return could not get the program needs. Had to pay $20 extra because we could not get return completed

I had no idea that the uhaul I rented would have went so absolutely terrible that I'm calling customer service first thing in the morning. I was told my reservation was a for 24 hours and b at 9am. But my online banking app and the rental agreement say otherwise. I am currently racking up charges and I have no idea why your company has charged me 2 more times afer my initial 189 plus tax. I also went over my reservation and it was told to me I had 24 hours and also that it was for 9am so to my surprise when I showed up to rent my uhaul I was told rudely that my reservation was for almost noon. Then to check in through my phone was another ordeal that had me so frustrated bc my data was off and my phone wasn't getting good service from wifi so it lengthened my already late start to an even longer one. I rented a dolly for a day but because my 24 hour rental somehow turned into a 48 hour rental so I was charged extra for the dolly along with other charges I did not use and still billed for. I had the worst moving experience due to the series of events that took place at your business and started badly and ended badly too. It was horrible start to finish and will use Ryder if I ever need those services again

Only problem I have is uhaul requires u to twist chain so it doesn't drag the ground twisting a chain can cause it to brake if if put under stress better solution would be to have extra chain clasp that u can put chain together to avoid twisting chain

I had to drop the trailer myself. There should be someone there to hook up and unhook trailers. But I will say that I did end up with a good trailer, which worked good and had the new hitch release which was great compared to your old twist knob hitch lock. It made dropping the trailer easier.

I arrived with the truck about an hour after closing time on Saturday afternoon. I was planning to do a 24/7 drop-off, but then the lady came out and said that she was still there, so she would be happy to check the truck in. Everything went very smoothly, and I was out of there in about 20 minutes. Great location, and great service!

My only issue had nothing to do with Macomb location itself. When registering online, it appeared that I would be able to pick up my Uhaul Trailer in Galesburg, IL. However, I later got a call that said that I would have to drive an hour to Macomb to pick up the trailer. Doesn't make a lot of sense that I was able to select which location to pick it up but then wasn't even close to the nearest Trailer of my selection.

Ratchet mechanism was rusted, had to spray WD40 to loosen, one tire had very little air, had to stop immediately after loading my vehicle for air, the tire eventually blew, which delayed my trip home by 5 hours.

The wiring had not been checked. Running lights did not work, but because we were leaving during the day they let us go. However, plans had to change as I am on call for my job. I was forced to miss a very important event to try to get the Uhaul back before dark. When we got to where we were going, we were told to take it somewhere else because they would be closed for a while. Perfectly great employees, perfectly terrible storm of events because wiring was not checked.

When I got to Macomb I was told there was nothing on record of this ding the gal took a photo and told me i need to talk to her supervisor about the ding in my bumper from the ding on the top of the ramp on this tow dolly.

The ladies at this location were exceptional! U-Haul the company though was awful!!! Supposed to check iout after hours. So we got to location and had problems checking in. It took us 40 minutes to do so!!!!! The U-Haul app is awful! Then it changed my entire reservation to my email but the drivers name for the acct, which is not my name, yet I was the one paying and the one who made the reservation! Now my email is full of crap emails regarding windows, insurance, etc for my new home. Hence, I rented the U-Haul for an event, not to move into a new home. So now it's more time to delete and opt out of all these emails in her name, which I am not interested in whatsoever! I will surely share my disappointment with many of my family members and friends! I would not recommend ANY of them to use U-Haul in the future!!!! I am less than impressed!!!! The girls at the location were very nice, helpful, and kind! I feel very bad that two very nice women have to work for such a crappy company!!!!

After hour internet pickup is a real pain in the butt here. Took several attempts as signal kept dropping out. Location needs to add customer accessible WiFi to make check in easier. This 10' truck had the same problem we had with the 10' truck we rented here in May (maybe it was the same truck). Key was difficult to turn in ignition lock.
