We didn't get any furniture pads. The company recommended for loading the container was terrible. They were several hours late and did a poor job of loading. Several items were damaged, probably due to the contents shifting.Malcolm L.

I scheduled drop off date way ahead of time, scheduled my house closing, made plans to get out of my house, and sorry! A day prior, I get a call from the local office saying they can't bring my containers, which I'D SCHEDULED WAY AHEAD OF TIME. Why have an online scheduling system if you can't figure out how to adhere to it? Ok, reschedule my house closing, rearrange my schedule. Containers then show up without covers because, "they ran out." Sure, it was only supposed to rain that night. How do you allow containers to be reserved and not have enough covers? Whatever, I knew at that point what I was dealing with in this company. Fast forward 3 months, I sit on hold for about 45 minutes because you can't, of course, schedule container drop-off at your new house online. FINALLY, get a live person, schedule my delivery of pretty much everything I own to coincide with my move into my new house. A few days prior, sorry! We can't bring your containers on the date you scheduled, but we can drop them off tomorrow, or bring them to your city and you can unload at our company site. Well sure, should I put all my stuff on my back and pack it to my new house 10 miles away? Oh, well, we'll give you a discounted truck. Gosh, thanks! And no, I haven't officially closed on my new house, so you can't bring them the next day, I don't own the house yet. Oh well, too bad so sad. Next date is a week and a half away. So I'm basically living in my new house with a suitcase of stuff. I ask if for my trouble, can you waive the 99 $delivery fee? Nope, can't. In a nutshell, I've never in my life dealt with such incompetence and horrible customer service. I filed a complaint with the corporate office with promises I'd be contacted within 48 hours regarding waiving the 99 $fee and shockingly enough, no one contacted me. If I can save just one person from using Uboxes or this company for trucks, I'll consider it the crowning achievement of my life.Marilyn L.
The staff were friendly and helpful but they didn't have the containers on the scheduled date. We had to wait at least a week for the containers, which might create a terrible problem if you have strict move out deadlines. Fortunately, we did not.Sue G.

The call system kept rerouting so was on hold for over an hour. Had to call several times before speaking to someone. Upon pickup of the Uboxes, our front light to the house was hit and pulled off the house requiring a major fix.James Z.

I have never been more disappointed in a company before; I usually never fill out these surveys but the service here was appalling and I will likely tell anyone looking to move about it (I have already told people to go with Pod instead) and will likely fill out a more public online review. I was given a guaranteed delivery by July 1st, however shortly before my box was picked up I was told that it was guaranteed to be delivered by July 8th due to a truck needing maintenance (this would have been helpful to know beforehand because I would have instead loaded the box sooner and been without my possessions for a few days in Reno instead of over a week in Rochester, and it was scheduled maintenance as told to me by the person who dropped the box off). When I was told this by the customer service representative, I expressed how I was disappointed that I was expected to pay my fees and oblige my contracts but U-Haul didn't and that I guess I would just need to figure it out and the response I got was "yeah good luck with that". Then I later learned that "guaranteed delivery" didn't mean that it was guaranteed to be delivered at my house on that date, but at a nearby warehouse and would hopefully be delivered the next day, which seems like shady promising. Lastly, while at work taking care of sick people in a hospital for 16 hours straight, I receive a call from the person who delivered my box to my house about my card being declined. I had already paid for every single fee except for the 150 $delivery fee, which is a relatively small fee in comparison to the entire order that I fully intended to pay. I responded that I don't have another credit card that I can pay with and that I would be happy to figure it out after work. She then, very rudely, asked when I got off and I responded "I'm not sure, I have to stay until the work is done and sometimes it's 7pm but sometimes it's 10pm". Again, very rudely, she said "well if you don't figure it out before we close then I'm going to have to come back and take your box back until you can pay the fee". I had to quickly call my mom to cover my fee so that I wouldn't need to go more time living without everything that I own and pay her back later, and the ordeal finally came to an end. Overall, my experience was awful and I will likely never use this company again. I will be sure to leave a more public review about the resident physician who was working for 16 hours without a break to ensure that sick patients in a hospital were adequately attended to who was then extorted by the delivery driver over a measly 150 $that could have easily been charged the next day when my card limit hadn't been reached for the day already, especially following the poor customer care exhibited for the month prior.Tyler A.

Drop off/pick up scheduling needs improvement. My dates were changed for three out of four times for different pick ups/drop offs which makes for a more challenging move. Containers should also be regularly inspected. One on ours broke one time when we went to check in on our goods and it was up to us to load it into a new box when we didn't have anything unusually heavy that would have caused it. Customer service was always friendly, it was just a frustrating experience overall.Nicole Q.

If it was not for the employees at this location, I would have had reported a horrible review and recommended no one use Uhaul. However, I am pleased to communicate that employee Julie Mendoza went out of her way to rectify my problem and bring it resolution in a quick manner. My experience with manager there Valerie was also a great experience. I would recommend that Julie be given a recommendation or award for her efforts, she saved the company.Eric S.
Make it clear that you have to confirm loading 24hrs before. No one told me this and my reservation was cancelled without my knowledge and I had to rebook as o was traveling to the location to load the pods.Lena L.

Our box was 3 days late, damaged and every time I called to speak to a representative they were rude and had no idea what was going on. We were told we would receive financial reimbursement for the late arrival we still haven't received that 5 days later. We never received a receipt for our shipping payment which we asked for 3 times. The entire ordeal was frustrating and I would not recommend people move with a U-Box. The only exception to the representatives being rude and unhelpful was Lisa, who I chatted with today. She helped and followed up on everything we had asked.Kody K.

This experience was amazing. I had to redo the container pickup location and was helped by Helen to do this. The contained pickup location people were very helpful and professional. The drop-off was when expected and went smoothly. I can't thank enough all the people I was in contact for this move. They were all pleasant, professional and very helpful. I have recommended U-haul to all my family and friends, and will definitely use you again if moving is required. keep up the good work.Denise B.

The service from the Reno based facility was EXCELLENT!!! Sadly, the same cannot be said for the facility in Hickory, NC. My pod arrived 9/24/20 and I stopped by the Hickory location to see if it could be delivered earlier than Monday. I was told they had a schedule, and it was set for Monday. I was told that mine was the only delivery, and that they would be at my house by 9AM. Since I'm alone and over 70, I hired 2 men to help unload the pod for Monday @ 9AM. The pod never arrived as promised. Finally, I called the Hickory store only to be advised that my pod would be delivered between NOON and 4 PM. I paid the 2 men for their time, and sent them home. A pod was delivered at 4:30 PM, BUT it was an EMPTY pod, not the one that contained my personal belongings. Finally, after they picked the correct pod up, I got my pod about 5:30 PM. Their ineptitude cost me 100,00 $ for the 2 men I had hired, PLUS it wasted an entire day while I waited for the pod's arrival. NEVER did I receive a call until just before 4:30 PM to tell me the pod (which was the empty one) was on it's way. I filed a complaint with U-Haul corporate, and asked for compensation for the money I'd lost. I did receive a call from the Hickory location saying they would reverse the delivery charges. That was THE LEAST they should have done. Overall, my experience was two sided.......a GREAT EXPERIENCE with the Reno based firm, and a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE with the Hickory firm!!!Raymond J F.

Although this specific location did not recommend the quantity of Uboxes I needed...(this was the â€œdeliveryâ€ end of our move; recommendations for 7 Uboxes was by the online reservation system)...we actually needed 10 Uboxes, not just 7. This location's â€œdeliveryâ€ personnel were professional and eager to please. This included the coordinating dispatcher. The delivery was delayed, due to a delivery truck breakdown...but U-haul made things right, by compensating us with a break on the delivery fee. We still endured a hardship, at our new house, without our belongings. Given all that could go wrong, I'm still satisfied with Uhaul's performance.Michael V.
It was over a week late and nobody could tell me where the box was. I have a very hard time believing that there aren't GPS trackers on the trucks. I had to keep calling about the status of my box because nobody was calling me to update (after someone initially called me to tell me it was going to be late). Then, the day after my empty box gets picked up, I am charged an additional fee from the local Uhaul store in my new city and it was not reflected on my order online. The website always showed incorrect information with regard to the date and cost. It consistently showed that it would arrive in my city the day after it was scheduled to be delivered to my house, which is of course logistically impossible. I can't believe that a multi billion dollar company can't figure out logistics, accounting, and website design. I will not be recommending Uhaul box to anyone. The only reason I don't regret ordering one is because it was paid for by my new job. If I had to pay for a Uhaul box myself I would have been 10x more pissed and I probably would file a complaint with the better business bureau. Shame on you.Aubrey E.

The U-Box arrived to the new city ahead of schedule, but I was disappointed to learn that they couldn't deliver it to my new address until two weeks after I moved into my new apartment. So, I had to rent a truck (costing more money) to deliver my own U-Box to my apartment.Adam P.

U-Haul did a great job for us. Not only was U-Haul less expensive than their competition, but the customer experience was excellent. You really need to advertise the availability of U Boxes. I searched because I was unhappy with a clause in PODS contract. Glad I did.Frances S.
Had difficulty getting a definite unload date from Uhaul.. Unloader had to wait another five days after specified delivery date to actually receive the boxes. This makes it difficult for the unloader to schedule people on his end.Linda F.

The Ubox solution was exactly what we needed to move items from family estate cross country. It provided secure storage of items as we decided what to keep while clearing out the house. The Ubox was delivered on time, clean with the moving pads as advertised. It was then picked up when we were ready, shipped, delivered to our home and reclaimed as advertised in a timely manner. The Ubox service was one of the few things that went exactly as planned and we will definitely recommend it to others.susan M.
I was originally supposed to get my boxes from a different location. When I called to find out when I could pick them up, I was told that the forklift was broke and that I would need to get them from a different location. I had to drive to the location on Edison to get my boxes. They didn't have time to pull all of the boxes since the Double Diamond location didn't give them hardly any notice. The people at Edison were helpful and quick; however, the hours of 7:00-3:30 and only M-F are not ideal. It would be helpful to have more double trailers as I had to pick up 5 boxes.Brian M.
THIS location was fine. I reserved my U-Box, and it said "You are scheduled to load your U-Box Container at U-Haul at Oddie Blvd on Monday, March 25, 2019." I assumed this meant my box would be at Oddie Blvd location. It was not. The lady inside didn't really seem to care what my email said, but was certain that this was impossible because they don't have u-box containers at that location. This was very unfortunate and upsetting, it was a move that we had planned carefully for months, and I expected the box to be at the location that it said it would be at.
