I don't like the way the vans are parked. They are so close together that the doors barely open and I have to try and make myself small to get in. I have a belly and it's uncomfortable and once I hurt myself. Not happy about this.

On this time around I had both the best and worse of experience. Checking in was brutal, I made a reservation, it felt meaningless, was a long line that day, a dozen plus people deep, a single desk clerk doing her best to get through it. took quite a while to get through. Reservation or not made no difference and plus it's a very big hub with 100's of equipment in the yard. Returning equipment went so well though; like a crew in a pit stop. was over quickly and so fast and friendly. Probably like the checking in should be with a reservation. But oh well, I'm writing here but it's all quite pointless when you have a complete monopoly ( and good for you ) and there's no incentive to make a change. cheers

Took over an hour to actually pick up the truck. None of the dollies rented were available, making the actual move significantly more difficult. Staff were not particularly friendly or helpful. All the suggested/forced use of the U-Haul app was infuriating as it didn't actually work, both for picking up the truck or to try and buy a mattress bag. The advanced check in the night before that was supposed to speed up the process didn't at all, as the staff asked me for all the same information again. Overall my recommendation to anyone would be to pay extra and hire movers, because it's a helluva lot less stressful.

We rented largest available truck, upon pickup online app had a few issues scanning drivers license etc called tech line took 40 minutes to get process complete when trying to leave lot there wasn’t enough room to maneuver truck out of back parking area took 2 spotters and numerous attempts to get out without hitting other vehicles and trailers, truck had check engine light on smelled of leaking coolant and exhaust was super loud when driving

Front Tire was flat, and they would not give me another truck. They pumped up the tire and said if it goes flat I should call roadside assistance. This was a terrible safety issue with the front tire and they should not have allowed me to take the truck. They should have provided me with a safe reliable alternative. This manager should be fired, people could have been killed if the front tire went flat on the highway. U-Haul Staff should know better. A flat front tire is a huge red flag.

Improve your app! I could not use the app to pick up my vehicle. If i arrived 10 minutes later, I would have been waiting 30 minutes and it would have affected my move. Fix the app so it recognizes BC drivers licenses.

I was very disappointed with this arrangement, I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment time, but after waiting another 30 minutes I got the key, and of course they should have given me an extension of 30 minutes for the return time, but they didn't. I did not feel any care for customer care at any point, and even one employee maintained a very rude attitude. I will rate them on Google and will never use this branch again.

U haul makes it very difficult to rent if one doesn't have a data plan on one's phone like I do. It wasn't to bad for this trailer rental but to make an assumption that I can take photos with my phone and post them and reply to contract questions is WRONG and discrimmatory

Every time I reserve a truck or a trailer and I reserve utility dollies and floor dollies. They are never there when I pick up my reservation. Not to mention if I reserve anything for future I'm constantly hounded by your call center employees. to the point that I had to block your companies number because of the harassing phone calls early hours of the morning

In spite of booking a time I had to wait 15 minutes while a customer was dealt with. It seemed the whole business was tied up with a single customer, I was not even acknowledged in this time. Otherwise, the actual renting a trailer was fine (nothing more)

The truck transmission was loud and it sounded like it was going to give. Where I dropped off they asked if it sounded loud when we drove it and I booked a month ahead and requested 2 dollies and they supposedly didn't have any when they have a lot of U-Haul trucks.. they just didn't want too cause the truck was going out of town so we had to load it by one box at a time a 20 foot truck with one guy helping who had a stroke 2 years ago

Some of the people at this location are miserable to deal with. The front counter woman was abysmal. She was more concerned with her text messages than helping and kept looking at her appearance in her camera on her phone. Also, the dolly i rented had a wheel that wouldn't turn and it was hard to move and scuffed up my floors.

The check in process was a joke. One slow representative working. I originally booked a one way but it didn't show that way so I had to pay for the kms back empty. U-Haul apparently requires to check drivers license (makes sense) then requires to call your cell phone to check to make sure you have a phone I guess??? They then need to take a photo with there cell phone to make sure you match your driver's license????? No idea but it all adds time to the pickup of the truck.. Then they are trying to enter the data into the system they had to enter it in multiple times because of system lag or crashes. All this leads to a horrible visual of uhaul.

The lineup to pickup the truck took over 20 minutes to get through a line of 3. One gave up and walked out. The cleaning thats done on the trucks is pathetic. Only spray and clean the floor? What about high touch surfaces? There were some foot prints on the dash on the passenger side when i first picked up the truck which shows it really needs to be properly cleaned. It would take an extra 3 minutes to wipe the dash and doors and disinfect them. Trucks should also be filled up before picking them up. Makes it better so the people renting the vehicles arent having to put fuel in them before they do anything. Would also mean the ones renting wouldnt be responsible for others fuel use. Uhaul buys the trucks brand new, they'd be delivered with a full tank of fuel. That means uhaul then charges people for missing fuel WITHOUT REPLACING IT AND JUST POCKETS MONEY! Then they pass the obligation onto the next person to rent the vehicle to replace that fuel until they are back at a full tank. This location is literally across the street from a gas station. Why not use the thing? But back to this locations biggest issue. I was given the keys and essentially forced to go and find the thing on my own. It was wedged between 2 other trucks and it was super tight for me to even try to get into the truck.

I was charged $22 for gas (11 litres) when I drove 22 km. That is 2km per liter Or 50 litres per 100 km. That truck should be in the 20 litres per 100 km range. I complained to the return worker and he just ignored me. I was in a hurry and let go. I will think twice about using your service again

I was very upset when i had originally reserved the storage as i was moving down from north vancouver island 8 hours away and had reserved the storage at the smae time as the truck weeks before. When i finally got to the storage facility i was told my storage reservation was taken by another customer. I was confused because i had RESERVED it and then after driving 8 hours and nowhere else to take my things i was told it was first come first serve. So i dont understand what the point of reserving was. They originally were going to let me just walk away with nothing i had to ASK if there were other units available. Which there were but not the size i reserved so i needed to get a bigger one at a more expensive rate. THEN they were not going to honor my first free month from my original RESERVATION because i was taking a different unit. Eventually everything got sorted but was a hugely unnecessary added stress to my move. I did reccommend my friend NOT to choose uhaul for their storage and moving needs because i did not want them to go through the same thing i did. They chose a different company and it went smooth with zero issues. Unfortunate.

I had to ask the staff 3 different times about my storage locker when leaving. None of them could help me and said they would find out and get back to me by the end of the day. None of them called me back. I then emailed the GM of the uhaul about the matter. That took 3+ emails to get a reply. At which after being a customer for 3+ years, I wasn't allowed to have a prorated amount for 7 additional days for the storage. It was just a "sorry, that is policy" without thinking about the customer. After all this, I even saw a uhaul rental hit an employees vehicle and let them know about it. Not looking for the world, just a little help.

I was moving from the North Island to Coquitlam and had RESERVED a storage unit for my belongings along with my uhaul truck rental. Upon arriving atthe uhaul storange unit to offload everything i was told my reserved unit was gone because it was taken by another customer. I did not understand as I had reserved the unit for the day i arrived and the was told it was first come first serve. I have never in my life heard of a reservation being first come first serve. I was very upset and they offered a bigger, more expensive unit because all the units of size i had reserved were gone. Then they said i would not get my first month free because it was not my original reservation. I did eventually get them to do it but it was alot of unnecessary added stress to an already long stressful day of moving and driving.

One of you employees was exceptionally helpful during my time renting the two storage units. I do not remember her name at this moment, but is a blond short hair lady and she was always smiling, new the system and process very well, and provided very quick help when and I needed, and every time we cross paths in the storage area she was saying good day! Unfortunately due some changes in my finance, needed to close my two accounts, but if I needed again, will go this U-haul location and hope she is there to provide the same exceptional service.

The storage facility was at the far back when I requested one that I could drive up to, and when I sent my driver there he was told I didn't have a storage locker there , so that created unnecessary stress . Then I called about getting some guys to load and unload and these guys subcontract for uhaul . They are not professional. They didn't seem to know how to load and pack properly. Constantly checking their watch , and they just got dropped off . So they had no car and my driver was upset that on a hot sunny day he had to share the front of the truck with 2 hot sweaty guys. No where did I agree to transport these guys .. they just assumed . That was rude and annoying . Because of their lack of knowledge it costed me 2 extra hrs , a lamp, and I needed to move the rest of my things to another storage locker , costings me anadded $400 for 2mths . They broke a very expensive hand painted lamp and just threw my stuff in the locker and piacked heavy things on top of breakable things. I'm very disappointed with the company that uhaul supplied me with for loading and loading . Never again !

I had booked a few weeks prior , called the day before to change and get a bigger unit and confirm my reservation to avoid any problems for the guys the next day . I has a friend driving the truck so his time was valuable as I was paying him he got there and was told there was no storage available ...that was awful and very upsetting. He then drove to sentinel storage which was closed for lunch then he called me to ask where I'd like him to go .I also had hired moving helpers thru uhaul via select movers. Also getting paid by the hour. I told him to go back to uhaul , I sent him reservation # ..and I had to stop what I was doing ..I had cleaners, plumbers, etc on my end . And only to be told I had to do something online. My internet was canceled, computer packed, my phone was in a dead zone area and I got very upset because all the info I gave 2 weeks prior was what he asked me for . I.m still upset. Then they gave them a locker on 2nd floor with stairs when I booked a ground floor . Just a gong show a whole hour wasted and costed me $ 200. Extra that made my experience with uhaul not good I'm still very angry. Then select moving sent 2 guys..not professional movers, I couldn't understand them . They didn't know how to pack well and then I needed a 3rd storage locker and after the horrible experience I ended up booking one at sentinel over the phone in 10min and done, but .also costed me another 200 plus these guys from select movers didn't pack the locker well either and the driver called me to say it might not all fit in here..these guys don't know what they are doing and move at a snails pace . Me and 2 girlfriends had to do a lot of work to help speed up the process and so we had to help them with packing tips and they didn't want to listen at my end but we got them to fit in more things they were just going to leave .I saw lots of wasted space , then thankgod my friend got in the locker and shuffled things around and it all fit ,I'm not impressed at all with moving company and the guys they sent out, they were more concerned about the time than working and costing me another 2 hrs of time and money plus extra locker

My storage unit was flooded; U-haul never took responsibility. I lost 1/2 of my professional library as a result. In addition, there was the gong show that happened this weekend with a UBox rental. If I never have to deal with U-haul again, it will be too soon.

The main reason I moved was access to the facility. Several times I could not easily access the doors due to the trucks and Honda parking lot. I brought this up once to the staff but didn't hear anything back.

The website made it look like there was an elevator to access second floor. There was not at this location. And the second floor units had a large ledge at entrance so we could not wheel heavy items into it but had to lift them in. And the description of what could fit was incorrect. Not enough space to store furniture and contents.

Everything was perfect with the unit but unfortunately the shared parking lot with the Nissan dealership made it an absolute nightmare trying to drive back too the storage entrance. I'm not sure what's going on there or if it's just temporary.

Can't say enough about the wonderful service received from staff, especially Christie. From beginning to end she was kind and helpful in making our storage needs a seamless experience. I would have rated 5 all the way except the last day the automatic exterior lights weren't working... it was the only time it happened and the staff was looking into the problem immediately. Additionally, access to the storage units from outside was tight a few times due to lots of parked cars and trucks but we managed regardless. Overall this was a great experience and I highly recommend uhaul storage.

The adjacent Honda dealership filled up the shared lane with vehicles stacked multiple levels deep every day, and U Haul trucks were often parked on the other side. This left very little space to maneuver a vehicle, load, unload, etc. Rental truck receiving area was often clogged with trucks coming in, completely blocking the storage unit access. I voiced my concern to two different managers, nothing was done. Access to the storage units was also restricted or blocked completely during a construction project on the Skytrain line (now completed), which made it extremely difficult to load/unload. No compensation, advance warning was provided, nor was there an apology forthcoming for the inconvenience . Waiting for counter service was very slow. Not uncommon to stand in line for 20+ minutes to speak with someone. Staff was friendly, many of the complaints were out of their control (except for the Manager).

The girl who works at this location is amazing. She went out of her way with my storage units and truck rentals to accommodate my needs. I def will not use any other storage or truck rental other than uhual from now on. Merci.

Water had leaked into my unit. Destroying my antique ivory screen.... which I paid 3200 for 20 yes ago.... which would have increased the value substantially. Did not feel satisfied with a "shame about your luck" attitude. I was texted the claims number, but was already told by manager that they would not pay that amount. So I guess " shame about my luck "

my problem with uhaul was more about the rental and the fact that uhaul is not flexible, more of a take it or leave it attitude.

At the Barnett highway location there is a young lady working there, petite caucasian with short dirty blonde hair she was fantastic to deal with and I was always happy to see her

Two of the people that helped us were awesome. One lady who works at the front desk struggled with giving the correct information, very broken English. So it took way longer than should have.

The access hours should be extended later into the evening. Perhaps to 9-9:30 pm. This would be easier for people who are work later or commute to work and don't get back to community until 6 pm.

Improperly trained staff. Undestaffed. Took 90 minutes to rent a storage locker. Was asked to wait while they helped people who came in after me. Management would not answer or return their calls.

The negative part of this rating is due to the fact that you have a 2nd floor WITHOUT ELEVATOR ACCESS, otherwise it would be higher rating.

Check in and out was easy and getting in to the unit was hassle-free, however a one bedroom apartment does not fit in a 5x6x10. We had to leave 2 large items out (couch and desk).

Made a reso in July for aug 15. Was called 5 days before to say if I didn't take possession today I would lose my reso. Terrible business model. Canceled my reso and will never come back. Embarrassing
