Paul MMy experience at the 5701 W. Good Hope location was pleasant and the employees helpful. They answered each of my questions and made me feel welcomed and at ease. I believe people still make the difference. It was the poler opposite of the experience I had moments earlier at your 7677 W. Appleton location. It started uncomfortably and deteriorate quickly. Upon entering I noticed the general manager (Mr. Joe Lindl) was looking directly at me but failed to greet me. I therefore greeted him. I was asked for my driver's license and phone number which I supplied. When he entered my information he asked if i had rented from them before, i responded that i had not. At this point I received a curious look from Mr. Lindl as he repeated the question a couple of times. He calls my number while we are standing there and I show him I've received his call. He then took pictures of both the front and back of my license and then asked for a reference name and number. Again which I provided. He proceeds to call, gets an answer service and asks for additional names and numbers. I begin to feel the level of scrutiny that I am being placed under to be unreasonable. It has seemed to escape Mr. Lindl that it is 715am on a Saturday morning and that calls this early may go unanswered or considered an irritation. When I inquire why so much is necessary he informs me that he has had three trucks stolen in the past month. I responded that has nothing to do with me. He says that it does. I repeat it does not, "I did not steal your trucks." He says he is doing what is required. I now ask for proof of policy that these request are how U-Haul operates. He proceeds to say I'm telling you the policy. I repeatedly request something in writing. Finally Mr. Lindl tells me to have a nice day as he walks away. I was ready to accept that the issue was a systemic one within the U-Haul corporation. I am glad that I took another chance and went to your 5710 location. They renewed my respect for your company. Thank you for giving me a forum to express my thoughts.

Jodi SDolly's tire tie ropes were all shredded by either previous renter or before then. I had a hard time unwinding and tying ropes. Terrible experiense. I was far from the uhaul, so I could not come back to exchange dolly. I did not expect that. I was afraid car would slip out so I was going extra slow. When I returned the dolly your worker was giving me attitude that I make his work extra hard. I mean If you don't like what you do DON'T work there. My previous rents were good, but this time it was not. I like Uhaul for its variety and simplicity, but this time it was not a pleasant experiense. I guess I will have to be more vigilant about equipment next time. I'll still rent from you, but please look at the equipment more thoroughly. This was a real safety issue.

It was AWFUL! No one offered help. I had to struggle with everything, while people watched. Used to be folks offered assistance when they see a customer struggling. I hated this experience and I won't be back or recommending UHAUL to anyone!

But I had 3 negative experiences this week that have led me to never use this facility again or recommend it to others: 1) When all of my belongings were removed, I saw that the floor was covered with mouse droppings. I now fear that the rugs, clothing and linens that I stored there are contaminated and cannot be used. 2) When I moved out of my unit last Sunday, the office was closed. So I planned to stop by in the next few days to cancel my lease. On Monday morning, I got an e-mail stating that my credit card would be charged for another month on June 12. I went to the office at 11:00 a.m. to cancel before the autopayment went through. Both the person on duty and the manager told me it was too late because the charge had already gone through. I needed to notify them the day before the payment. Since it has been 10 years since I rented the locker, I had no knowledge of this. I asked if they could make an exception since I have paid on time every month for 10 years and they said no. IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS? 3) The storage building wreaked of marijuana smoke.

It took 3 phone calls and even then someone called to advise me that my payment was due. Everything was moved out on Thursday Oct.27th During one call I was told they were entering a note and were calling the Goodhope location to have someone take a look and confirm the move out. I could have been charged for the lack of communication after we were advised on what steps to take. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

There should always be on acetylene torch around for that issue. My kids mother received a letter that I was late with my payment a week and half after I paid it and then another week and a half later I get the same letter. Not good people don't get notifications out early enough. I guess this is a reoccurring problem because when I went to pay I told her I never got a notice and she waive the late fee…been there twice and they still didn't change the name to the correct name. Didn't affect me I dropped the ballI was just thinking about others. Could lead to serious altercations. Fix ASAP! Thank you.

The storage unit rented to me was too small for the 26 foot U-Haul truck that I also rented from U-Haul. There was trash everywhere. Two months later they claim I wasn't moved out but I was because they told me something was there but I know it wasn't and the last time I was there I told them I was moving then and they said fine just take the lock with me which I did after clearing out.... This was over a year ago and yet they keeping saying I owe money for a unit I am not occupying. My mother told them I had nothing in the unit and I have told them this as well. So no I have nothing good to say.

My issues were not consistent enough to give a "No" response to some of the above questions even though if there was a rating scale of 1 - 5, this location would be in the middle or lower. There was some kind of water leak into the indoor unit that I had that soaked the lower stacked boxes. The boxes then collapsed under the weight of the boxes on top and some thing got crushed. Clothing ended up having mold in them. All of the boxes on the floor were stuck to the floor and things that were wood had water damage. Dealing with the staff was a crap shoot. In person I've never had a problem. Especially in leaving the facility for the last time. That gentleman was VERY helpful. Any conversation over the phone was met with hostility. When a mistake, that was not mine was made, I was met with a nasty attitude.
