Shannon MchughBooked my truck at the location by my house for 2 days then when I went to pick it up there was no truck so I had to call U-Haul and they send me out to the Matsqui location to pick up a truck and said they would apply a 50$ discount for the inconvenience. I then drove out to the matsqui location that had a truck but none of the items that I needed with the original order and very minimal fuel in the truck. After wasting about an hour and a half of my time when I should have been moving I then had to proceed to the gas station to fill up the rental. I returned the vehicle in good condition the following day (a day early) and discovered I was being charged 100 dollars for mileage and that my discount couldn't be applied and that I should drive to the original location to receive my discount. Your company is garbage and I wouldn't recommend using you guys to my worst enemy. Thanks for nothing.

Manager was especially kind and tried to be helpful and was sympathetic to my issues BUT the Facility is terrible !! and literally the first month I've been there. The facility leaked and the concrete structure at the back of my locker fell apart. Water damage into the building. Soaked the roof and in turn Ruined a lot of my stuff !!! Thousands in damages. Luckily no keepsakes and I have been told I also need to move all of my stuff so they can do repairs. It's my first month ! And to say I want to move all my things yet again would not be the case. I do not!

I was not able to get my one-way reservation, so they gave me an in town reservation with the promise that I would still get a free locker and only pay half the kilometers. I had a locker reserved, and I even called the night before to make sure it was reserved. When I got there, they told me they no longer have the locker for me and I have to travel 18 km to another unit. When I got there, I told them everything and they told me that no, I would not get a free locker now and that I would need to supply a credit card, so I had to spend another 25 minutes on hold trying to get through to somebody to finally get into my locker. When I was unloading my locker at the second location which is very far from where I needed to be for my move at the end of the month., extremely frustrated, at this point, I look down and see that there's a pool of oil dumping out of the rear tire of the moving truck. I climb underneath and see that there is oil let loose all dripping down the tire and axle. iPhone U-Haul for the fifth time this day and asked to speak to a manager who tells me that they will pick up the truck tomorrow and I have to figure out a ride home. The clerk at the U-Haul unit came out and I showed her the oil and she agreed that I should not drive the truck. However, I cannot pay my bill because the manager is now telling me that they need to inspect the truck to verify that there is a reason why I could not bring it back to the location. I paid $100 cash deposit at the original pick up point and cannot get any answers and I am now being told next week I may find out what my bill is. I have a move set up for November 3 which is extremely important and I have zero confidence that U-Haul is going to be able to have my truck ready. If this is the kind of feedback you want and this is what you want your customers telling other people consistently that is fine. Personally, I would never consider using U-Haul after this experience. The manager seemed like I wasn't annoyance to him and he just wanted me off the phone. When I got to the first storage locker where they gave away my reservation, the clerk was smirking at me when he saw my frustration that I had to drive 20 minutes away from where I needed to be to another location. Personally, I can't believe they would charge us one penny after thi. I had to get a vehicle to drive me home, and somebody had to go out of their way 47 km to bring me back to LANGLEY. I paid that person's gas and nobody cares at all about the frustration and the seven hour event that I had to go through yesterday when all I did was reserve a truck weeks ago and the storage locker and tried to use your service. I have photos and video of the oil dumping all over the tire, and I will not be held to pay costs if they deem that it is not a failure. That truck was not safe to drive back on the freeway. It had oil all over the rubber, and I have video and picture proof and I would love to show somebody it. I highly doubt anyone will contact me regarding this, but I would love to speak to somebody that may be a little higher up than the people I have been speaking to, because they have treated me with nothing but haste and rushing me off the phone like I am an annoyance.

So i had worse gas mileage and a higher price because of that and i couldn't back up my trailer into my underground parking spot. The reason why i rented this. Overall bad experience. Next time call me when you dont have the truck i ordered and ill go somewhere else.

When I did my check-in at the storage unit they stated that I would not be eligible for that because it wasn't an out of town truck rental.. none of that was told to me during the whole application when I filled it out and the offer was offered to me. Matteo La RoccaThe vehicle was cleaned.. but the floor was slippery due overly sprayed cleaning agent that my feet was slipping from paddle while braking. I had to stop at a gas station and to clean the floor with papers or else it was too dangerous to drive in that condition.

He gave me a 5x5, had to go back and ask for a 5x10 … then he gave me a unit that was in use, has to go back again and then finally I got a unit that I could use.. was extremely inconvenient as I had my infant with me trying to unload all my items and having to go back up to the office 2 times to get a proper unit. Milad Ismialzada | Premières impressionsFinding the unit was confusing. There is a gated part of units, but my unit was not in the gated area while I was provided the gate access code. There was no map of building name provided. I moved in after their office hours, and found there was no lock provided to lock. There was no store around to go and buy a secure lock at 10pm. Even if I could get a lock, the access hours ended at 10pm, so I was afraid the alarm would set off when I come back with a lock. I called the customer service. First CS didn't provide solution and transferred to next CS. I can't leave the unit without a lock. I discussed with her to use the lock that came with the Uhaul truck that I rented from a different location, and come back to the storage office to get a lock next day and go to return the truck lock. It takes 1,5 hour to do that as I don't live close to the unit during my work hours next day. The information and solution about the lock (how to securely retrieve the lock) should be included in advance for after hour move-ins. It was stressful to deal with the issue late at night, and it took additional trip to the unit next day taking out from my work hours. I spoke with the facility next day and requested a discount or some sort. The facility was sending in a request to the head office. I hope to hear from them.

They could not locate the reference number from their system to match with the one on the receipt. I ended up leaving blankets without the receipt. They said they will email me the receipt when they finally find it in their system. It's been 5 days now no email from them.
Henry HanyaUHaul has a very long process to validate the client. I've rented multiple time from Uhaul and it seems to get worse. I'm not sure why for repeat customers they can't make the process more efficient. Today I rented a $15 trailer and it tool almost 30 minutes go through the entire process of getting their contracts competed.
MILES CLYNEJen the GM is wonderful! How ever, they need to be checking there equipment better. I was given a trailer with a bent tounge, as being a 6x12 the brakes would not apply as the braking mechanism would not slide due to the bent tounge. Lights also were burnt out , not connected and bad ground on the wiring system

TONY FERREIRAI have rented from this location many times over the years. Today's rental was not what I have grown to expect. The van we rented smelled badly like wet dog and the back was not particularly clean. The dolly I rented was not in the van so I had to line up and wait for it. As I drove away two warnings kept flashing that the traction system needed servicing and the stabilitrak system needed servicing. The ABS light was also on and the traction system light was on. As a pulled into a parking lot one of the rear wheels locked up on me for a few seconds. I called the Roadside assistance number but they insisted on my contract number before they could help me out and maybe disable the traction system. I tried finding it on my phone and the Uhaul App but all I could see was a reservation number. She kept insisting she needed a contract number. I gave up on that and drove the van back to UHaul. The young lady there had no idea what to do and there was no other van to take. I told her I would take a chance with the van and drove away. I used it for about 35km total. Once in a while the traction system would act up but I got our move done. In the end I had to pay for the extra mileage I did driving it back to UHaul and had to deal with the wet dog smell all day. This is unusual for this location where I have always had good luck.

Then said it was declining. And told me to pay by card inside. So I went in and tried using my debit and he kept telling me it was declining. The machine didn't prompt me properly. Apparently I am not able to pay for anything with a debit card, either. I had to move money around, if I had been allowed to pay through the mobile app myself I could have taken my time and not been stressed out about it.

Ross NormandIt would be great if the american staff would be accurate when they claim the types of payment methods available, as this was a huge inconvenience to me. Had I known when making my booking it would have saved me hours of inconvenience. Then, my booking was not as I arranged and had they been more transparent, it would again, have saved me hours of inconvenience. It isn't the locations fault as they did not make the booking. If I could have made it with the location itself, I'm sure It would have saved myself a full day of BS. This isn't the first time this has happened, and even though specifically asking the questions that were meant to avoid this, I was given misinformation, which is why I now look into renting from other companies and only use uhaul as a last resort.

It seemed the prices changed after booking because I booked a one way which this location didn't end up having so I payed quite a bit more not only for the mileage but also for the gas because I had to return the truck. I was told Id have 48 kms free which was also not in the return deal. That wasn't great because I would have gone a different route had I known that in advance.

The first two said they had trailer parking but they were completely unacceptable to be offered for anything other than a small car. also, you had to make impossible turns to back in. They admitted that others have tried to park but failed. The one spot has someone else's camper over the white line about 8" too, leaving the spot unusable. We spend nearly three hours driving around to get a spot a complete waste of time and added stress. I have been told that a call centre looks at a map of locations off site. They need to have more information like how many feet, how much turning space to determine if a trailer will fit and if they are not sure they beed to transfer call to actual location to verify. This was a horrible experience!

Understanding as this is as nothing ever goes as planned. In fact I don't really care for that time line expectations. We were directed to another location to pick up the van, which did not happen as the client was delayed. This did stall our time to start. In fact we were told that we could take our time thereafter in returning the van. This was much more relaxing. I guess it's a busy time. Tty8tr thanks

I show up to open my units and they tell me they gave my reserved units away to someone else and the only have 2 5x10 units available. I never received a phone call or anything prior and had to go find another unit at the last minute before the movers showed up. I could have came in earlier to start renting the units a few days or weeks in advance if they had told me it would be an issue, but I was never told that. Don't tell me I can book a reservation and then give my units away with absolutely no heads up. That's not a reservation.
