MATTHEW CRepresentative at San Tan Valley, AZ made a mistake entering wrong return location (local vs Gallup, NM) At first, I was thrilled to get a "discount" and I didn't review the document she gave to me When I returned the tow dolly to U/Haul location in Gallup, NM, I was surprised to be charged a "WrongDropOff" fee of $396! The representative there did not offer to fix the problem. Everett RI don't really have any need to concentrate on improvement based on my experience. Every aspect of the process worked very well. Truck was clean and made the 950-mile trip effortlessly. All employee interaction was flawless, and all employees answered questions and concerns quickly and accurately. Quite honestly, I was expecting and prepared for a lot more frustration and difficulty!
Bruce DOne of the wheel tie down straps was shorter than original length. It must have torn at some point, so it was just barely long enough to ratchet down.

Wilfred AThe San Tan location is a major Uhaul center, so it usually has the equipment you need. A little slow returning the trailer I rented because no one was outside, so I went inside and there was a line (internet was down) but about six or seven minutes later a lady came in to saying that she took it off and I was ready to go.

jess fThe counter clerk needed to explain the refund of unused miles that would be credited to my bank account. That was not explained to me at the counter when I made the reservation or when I returned the truck. Very confusing.

Amanda RI was charged for gas when I did add gas. When I received the truck the tank was not full. I added gas very close to the mark as I received the truck. That was not a good way to treat customers. Advertising truck rentals at $19,95 for all day is a joke. Had the truck for 6 hours, drove less than 65 miles and the rental cost over $100.
Michael BStaff and move in process was excellent. For the last few weeks I would call in to upgrade my 5x10 unit to 15x10. One staff member said they finally had 15x10 units available so I drove to the store to sign the contract. When I arrived I spoke with another staff member and they said the other staff looked at the wrong information and they did not have any 15x10 units. They had a 10x10 instead so I settled on that since I needed space to move a few things immediately. The bummer part since I couldn't get a 15x10 was I had to keep my 5x10 unit and add the 10x10 to get the same storage space but spending about $50+ more per month due to bad info and unit availability.

The employees at the San Tan Mountains facility were kind, helpful, and very knowledgeable about their jobs. Renting the storage units and trucks were very easy and smooth transactions. The "central" call center, however, does not have sufficient knowledge of the access times for the storage facilities, and the inability to consistently get ahold of someone at the actual store made it necessary for me to go there myself and ask the question of the on-site staff. That should have been accomplished via a phone call or a quick look at the website.

Devon was very helpful at the South Kingshighway facility he serviced our uhaul because where we picked up from did not do a service check and it was having issues. We took it to the Kingshighway store where I recently had rented from them the week before and asked them to check out the truck. So GLAD we did because it need oil and other things we need to be aware of. I would definitely refer You guys to someone else.

When we returned on Sept 4th there was a lock on our unit and a woman who I believe was the office manager said she spoke to us, but she 100 %did not speak with us. She closed out our account and put a lock in our unit and the tag on the unit said Juanita. The frustration comes because we have no proof that our unit was closed. Nothing signed and no formalities. We were told an email was sent to us, but the attachment to the email is blank. The office could not even pull up our account because it showed they closed it. Some one in the office lied and said they spoke to us, but again, we did not speak to anyone and our plan was to return and close out on Monday. Mistakes are made, we understand those. Lies however are unacceptable, and again, because of someone's mistakes that became lies instead of taking responsibility, we have no proof the unit was closed out clean and in good repair.

I even offered to give my card to hold it over the phone and was told it was reserved under my name and would be held for me, not to worry. Keep in mind YOUR recording says your calls are recorded for quality and so your promises are kept. Your desk employees are friendly but don't have any say or control over what your supervisors decide to take from a customer they already made a promise to. I asked for a month of free rent for the inconvenience of not having what I requested and unit that was taken away and was told no they did not have the authority to do so. I moved my stuff out of my smaller unit, I was needing to move into a larger unit, and took my business elsewhere received one month free rent and pay less per month.

And it always smelled so fresh and clean. Their restroom was always freshly cleaned, and you could see they kept up with the daily schedule. All of the staff were friendly and very helpful each time I had a question or needed some kind of assistance. I stored my belongings at the San Tan Valley, AZ facility for 7 years, and never had a negative experience there. My belongings were safe and secure. I would recommend everyone to use this location, as it is the only one I ever experienced. The management was phenomenal! Thank you Sandy, Evelyn and Wendy for making my stay such a special and pleasant one. It was a pleasure doing business with you all! Unit #2113.

We were originally inquiring about a ground level 10'x15 controlled climate unit. We were told that they had a few available, but when we arrived they said that all of their climate controlled units were on the floors above, not on the ground floor. I ended up getting a reservation at the Power and Pecos road location instead because they also said that they had a ground level unit. I got a confirmation that says "interior 2nd floor street level climate" 922071-00113580 When I got there, the girl said they don't have ground level units like this either, even though my reservation says such. Frustrated, I canceled that reservation and went back to San Tan to rent the 2nd floor unit since this location is more convenient for me.

A friend needed a storage unit like mine but they didn't have the size she needed. I had the storage unit longer than expected, I knew that it was secure. I was thinking that I had to inform that I was done with renting a storage unit but I guess removing all items in the unit and removing the lock meant I was done with it. I received a thank you and good bye email within days. Well, that made it easy.

The front office staff are incredible! Everyone of front office staff have displayed outstanding customer service, public relations, and communication skills. They will do anything that they can for you and do it willingly with grace. Also, they're good at offering suggestions on ways to make the moving and storage arrangements better and even easier. I was in management supervising up to 150 employees at different levels where customer service skills were very important for over 30 years- if I was still working, I'd steal some, if not all, of the folks I've seen in action. Kudos to an outstanding staff offering outstanding service and outstanding products.

However, reservation was "lost" the first time and had to reserve a 2nd time and was never notified that a unit had become available (glad I stopped in to inquire). Aside from the key card there was no direction on location for loading/unloading, where my unit was, hours, lock for the unit - I had to ask for all. I finally found the unit and it was tagged and had to go back down to the office and was handed a knife to cut the tag myself to open the unit! I felt like once I handed them my money I was definitely on my own lol…but I did get the size requested and a place to store our items so I guess that's what's important, although I do feel the Move-In Experience could use a little fine-tuning!

The unpaved ground made it difficult to hitch the trailer and made my boat dirty if I wanted to get in the boat - I would track in dirt. Overall the unit felt overpriced and when I forfeited the unit you took the keys but I did not get a prorated refund for what I didn't use. Basically I cannot access the storage and you can rent out the space but I'm still paying for the spot. I will NEVER go to Uhaul for storage again.

Security check changed dates I will receive it and I was told I absolutely couldn't change the date. Furthermore, if I don't pay by my designated date or within 48 hrs of it, I will be charged a late fee of $25.00. My check would reach me 48hrs after the extend time period. For a senior living on the edge, $25 could pay for a lot of prescriptions for me. So, I am having to consider moving to another storage facility because I-Haul simple won't work with me.

If they know and agree it is a problem maybe they need to rent one just like customers that don't have trucks or trailers rent one from u-haul. I worry every time I enter the storage area. They have 24 access at an additional charge, if requested. I did not have 24 hour access and when I was moving my belongings into the unit it ran a little long and I ended up being locked out of the facility with a few large items still in the moving truck. I was able to get in touch with the General Manager, Kristara, at 10 PM on her personal # which is listed on multiple signs throughout the facility. While it was clear I woke her up she was more than accommodating and remotely granted me 24 access to the storage unit for the night so I could finish moving in. I was very impressed with the customer service of the entire staff and Kristara deserves extra recognition. I appreciate the service and would definitely recommend this facility to anyone in need of moving and storage services.

Kenneth E | Expérience généraleFirst I find it very hypocritical and disrespectful that they are telling their customers to wear masks when none of their staffs wears them ever. My issues started right away when I went to open the unit and they put it under my fathers name instead of mine, even though I told them multiple times the unit was for me. This caused problems with charging for the unit which resulted in my having to pay late fees. They had me buy one of their locks for the unit, then a couple months later denied me access to my unit until I bought another kind of lock from them. Saying that it's part of their policy but there was nothing like that in the contract. Now I'm finally closing the unit and decide to rent a 10" truck for my move to Florida. They wouldn't "hold a reservation" for us saying it was "first come, first serve", which makes the point of a reservation pointless. When we arrived a day early for fear that they wouldn't have a truck for us, we found their lot was filled with 10' trucks, so I don't know why they couldn't reassure us that they had a truck for us. As we were checking out the storage room, the attendant closed out the account which subsequently locked us out of the storage room, when we had already informed him that we were about to clear it out. They said just go unlock the room and the alarm will sound for a little bit. Great security right there. The staff here is unfriendly, unprofessional and unhelpful. We had to go find the truck ourselves! The truck they gave us WAS. NOT. CLEAN. But neither were the other ones that day. We found all kinds of debris, and even a used mask left inside the truck. The driver side windshield wiper is broken and scratching the window. The passenger front headlight is obviously loose and is almost like a strobe while driving. As we are half way through the move, driving through Texas, the oil gauge starts to drop and the truck wouldn't shift into gears correctly without making a popping sound. It was also at this time the brake felt a little wobbly too. Why call for a reservation when they aren't going to inspect the vehicle for a long distance drive?!? They were told over the phone where the vehicle was heading. The least they could've done was make sure it was operational. This location is the absolute worst and no one should ever store their belongings here or rent any vehicles from them.

After 10 months of storing our stuff we were ready to move out and the process couldn't have been any easier. All of our items were clean, the unit remained free of dirt, debris and bugs/rodents. Zero issues. The facility is very well kept and cleaned. Every time we visited the unit we saw cleaning crews taking care of things. I would highly recommend this facility for your storage needs.

The first couple months they couldn't figure out how to setup autopay and assessed late fees and then when my card was compromised they simply charged a late fee and moved on. Bad business. The Trailer next to my RV was plugged into my power and blew the GFI taking my rig down and killing the batteries. They're still learning how to be professional. I'm out, not interested

So it took him 2 or 3 days, I don't remember, into our next month before he could get everything out of storage and we were charged for the whole month. This was not normal circumstances and when he called to explain he wasn't given any consideration. After paying $303 a month since May it didn't make us feel like a very valuable customer.
