ralph cainThe employees inside stated everything needed to be unhooked by me, unwilling to help as per the conversation with the employee in Houston who did everything for me and stated they should do the same. Not to mention the employees are extremely rude and disrespectful, the employee snatched the keys out of my hand and kicked the trailer, slammed the tire metal railing, floored my truck with my child asleep inside this shifted my entire load causing damage to many of my items. He also drove the truck in a manner backing it up to the other tow trailers so fast I thought as if he was going to hit the others. Very unprofessional I wouldn't recommend.

HILDA AYALANICOLAURandom very high deposit. The deposit was 4x higher than the the actual rental which is outrageous. The gentleman was blowing/ picking his nose (infront of me) before he handing me the dolly (quite gross). Just an overall bad experience and will not use any U-Haul services in the future. I will say the young lady that helped me get the truck was nice
Craig StephensThe only issue I took with a customer experience is the lack of parking at that location. The side is so inundated with rental vehicles, it leaves very little parking for customers.
Erin GrayThe right hand blinker on the trailer wasn't working. My reservation was for 9 but it took so long to get through line and for the employees to ready the equipment it was 10am before I was able to leave which is a little annoying since it was on my time which I was paying for. I did online check in and had the reservation so I feel like the truck and trailer should have been ready to go within minutes of me arriving. Overall it wasn't the worst experience because the price was reasonable. If if were more expensive I would have been extremely put off by the experience and not considered using Uhaul again. However the price point was barely worth the extra stress the pick up process added to an already stressful moving day.

Indalita HoltUhaul box was supposed to be ready at 9 am, I waited until after 10 am to arrive and it still wasn't ready, it was after 11am when I finally left the location. Truck fuel was listed at 1/4 of a tank, but was actually at 1/8 of a tank. Everyone seemed confused. Young lady was watching videos in the bathroom while I waited for someone to help me when I arrived. Eating chips and still watching videos when I returned the truck and u-box. Poor customer service, retraining is warranted

Gregory SundahlStop lying to your customers. When I rented the truck, I was told it was $29/day + 0,89/mile. Ok, I can live with that. But, they charged me over $100 before they gave me the key. Additionally I wasn't told a hold would be placed on my credit card. My daughter kept the truck for four days. But on the third day I received a call asking if they could charge my debit card $50. I agreed to that and then I noticed my bank account was debited for more than $200. OUCH! Then when my daughter turned in the truck they debited another $450. Totaling more than $750 for four days. I'm NOT a happy former customer. Isn't that deceptive trade? It just seems crooked to me. Never go back!!!
John StewartI arrived to pick up my rental truck at the time I scheduled. I was unaware that it could take 15 minutes to pick up my rental using the app. Had I have known this, I'm not sure I would have used the app because I had workers waiting for me to arrive with the truck and the app and the lady at the desk said it could take 15 to 20 minutes to get my security approval through the app. When I was returning the truck at 12:25pm (earlier than the expected 3pm) , I arrived in the equipment return space. I opened the app to begin the return process. The application was not functioning properly and was erroring out. A gentleman in a U-Haul shirt approached my door, and I explained the situation. He was pleasant and professional, and said that he would check it in for me. I took a picture of the gas gauge and odometer for my records, leaving the keys on the drivers seat. He asked me a few questions and we looked in the back of the truck. Everything was good. When I asked about the receipt for my rental, he explained that it would come to me through email. Later that afternoon, after the time I had originally planned to return the truck, I received a call from Uhaul asking when I was going to return the truck. I let her know, I already returned it and told her the above scenario. She stated that she would call me back after they looked on the lot for the truck. Later that evening, I realized I had not heard back from them. I checked the app and it showed that the truck was not returned yet. Over the next two days, I called the local number and twice spoke to the national customer service operators, explaining the situation. They added notes to the rental record each time. Monday, I received another phone call asking about the truck. Again I told the story and offered to send a photograph of the gas gauge and mileage including the timestamp showing it was returned on Saturday at 12:25 PM. On Monday approximately 1:28PM I received an email with my receipt. I guess that means they figured out that I did indeed returned the truck as I stated. I feel like all of this could've been avoided if I had worked directly with the person at the counter, instead of attempting to use their app, which is not the local stores fault.
Les KiserAfter turning the vehicle in, I got two calls asking when I was going to turn the vehicle in, which the situation was resolved without much work on my part but it caused unnecessary worry. Still very helpful staff
TREVOR MCINTIREParking lot was overrun with vehicles from the weekend. Took a while to check in, but once Gilbert was able to get started, he finished in record time and did an outstanding job. He went out of his way to be helpful and explain things the service was excellent.

GETU AWLACHEWThe lady that helped us check out the vehicle was not helpful. When asked to add extra miles to the expense she said the rental was already a flat rate and declined to add anything extra up front. The process seemed rushed and uninterested.
Jakob ElmshaeuserThe equipment was clean and maintained, except for the right rear ramp (Passenger side). When the ramp slide out to load vehicle, the ramp would fall out. We put the ramp back in, and able to load and unload the vehicle. The latch that holds the ramp in, did not automatically secure the ramp. We were able to secure it my moving the lock manually. Still was maintained, and everything else worked.
Daniel HunterHire new employees. The manager at uhaul slaughter lane lifted the ubox trailer with the empty box on it with a forklift WHILE IT WAS ATTACHED TO MY VEHICLE. This was because the anchors in the back of the trailer were bent and I wanted them removed because they were an inch off the ground and I knew they would be scraping on the ground. Their manager is incredibly rude and disrespectful.

I was able to rent the truck I needed & bring it back within 2 hours. Plus Uhaul cost less than Home Depo & Enterprise. Overall, it was just a pleasant experience.

There was no urgency to fix it. The next time i came back, i used the "moving help" in which u-haul suggested when i used a truck. The company didnt show up. U-haul was unhelpful because it is a third party, even though its part of the truck rental process. I had to move everything myself. Overall, the u-haul experience has been much lower than what i had with extra space storage ans would not come back.

Never had an issue with the staff, but I would think that when a person is leaving and leaving prior to the end of the month which mine was up on the eighth and I left on the 28th and was paid up that they would've at least said thank you for using Uhaul or something. The girls theirs seem very unprofessional didn't seem like they gave a crap and just dismissed you like you were a rag and that was my worst experience in all the years that I have been there.

Although the store was busy, she seems to work well under pressure. Rosie/Rosa(can't remember which) & another young lady there on 3/2 were also pleasant and helpful.

The gril that originally set up my rental was friendly and very helpful. I wish I had gotten her name. The others, not so much when I have been in for various reasons. Need earlier office hours on sundays. I was there before 9:00 a.m. to speak to someone and they opened the door right at 9:00 a.m. however there was only one guy working. There was a line of people yet some of the workers decided to go get breakfast tacos at 9:00 a.m. instead of working. That needs to be done before office hours so that the customers can be tended to during office hours. The staff is not welcoming. There is no "hello", "how are you", "sorry for the wait", Etc. A simple hello would work.

This was not a true reflection of all other U-Haul places as U-Haul is amazing and was truly surprised by the level of unprofessionalism at this place with no manager on duty either.

Cherish Drayton | Premières impressionsMaybe it is employee turnover like so many businesses now. We were given a key to the rental and told to go find the truck. The lot was full even having several lanes three trucks in. After searching the entire lot, the truck was found to be parked behind another and not clearly marked. Poor customer service. In my opinion the truck should be brought to the front for customer pick up and inspection. Upon inspection the miles were unable to be seen and there was a low tire alert on the dashboard. The store itself clearly had not be swept mopped or cleaned in quite sometime. I would highly doubt doorknobs etc had been wiped down. Although a comment was made about no reuse/sale of the lock and key due to cross contamination ….. really? Several of the staff were helpful but a few not so much.

The only suggestion we would make is having trash cans somewhere in the building, maybe one per floor near the elevators. There was a lot of trash (mostly broken locks and water bottles) and we had to take our empty water bottles in the car with us too. Other than that, great service overall!

brigitte johannessen | Expérience généraleBefore attempting to move my personal effects from storage unit, I would have rated Above average to excellent, but my exit experience was bad. I attempted to contact the Slaughter location on multiple occasions prior to the day of move out. I left a message with customer service Rep for Manager Tristin Timms to call me and I was told I would hear back from him. Next day with no call back I called again for Manager and person advised that she could help that she assist this location. I asked about my unit and that I had left my key in Houston and did the facility have a bolt cutter to cut my lock. I was told that they did and that it would not be a problem. When I arrived I was denied access and said I needed to call a lock smith to enter my unit. After an hour plus delay in locating a lock smith on a Saturday morning the lock smith arrived and opened my lock in less than 30 seconds. My overall issue is not that I needed a lock smith to open my locker it is the fact that I was given incorrect information and if I would have known about the procedure, I would have arranged to have open prior to the morning of my move. The manager on Duty tried to accommodate and indicated that she was new to the location.

I get that I secured the unit at the last minute but am still highly disappointed in the outcome of my valuable pieces after baking in the sun day after day which is I ended my lease sooner than anticipated.

Even when he showed me were the storage size facilities were, the girl next to him knew I couldn't open them and opened them for me. They even offered me water. The young man who helped me with my boxes was extremely helpful with picking them out. He was also helpful with loading them up. It took me a minute to figure out how to put down my back seat and he waited patiently. I would highly recommend Uhaul the customer service was extremely excellent.

I am a very low-maintenance customer who has worked in customer service for many years and I was shocked at how little these employees seemed to care about anything at all. I terminated my lease the same day I moved in to go to a different storage facility.

The agent explained that the unit was abandoned and it hadn't been seized and emptied yet. The fact that the website and onsite accounting could be so far off was really disappointing. I felt like my prom date ditched me when I went to pick her up.

jessica cline | Expérience généraleU-Haul at Slaughter doesn't answer phones. During the pandemic, I went inside and only one worker, Jeanie was wearing a mask. Social distancing was not taken seriously. I had to call the national office numerous times to get a message to Ross the manager there. I had major heart surgery and didn't want to go back inside again because it was a risk to my health. Better attention to clients needs to be addressed. I had storage there since 2005. Glad that part of my life is over.

I called days ahead and was told by management that everything was taken care of, but was still locked out when I arrived with professional movers. Had to wait a half hour in long line for someone to unlock the unit. Even though I moved out on the 6th, was still made to pay for the full month through the 26th.

debbie grana | Premières impressions~ The truck has a very annoying, high-pitched whistle which occurs at about 70 miles an hour; not very fun on a 24-hour road trip! Seems to come from the driver's-side windshield, in the corner. ~ The air conditioning would also simply cut off, for no reason, causing us to scramble about playing with dials, etc. until it began working again. ~ The young man I initially spoke with about accessing our free 1-month self storage unit was more interested in telling me what was wrong-- i.e. he wasn't finding a reservation made from the Holland, Michigan store-- than in how to help me remedy the situation. I literally had to ask him, "So is there anything you can do to help me fix this instead of telling me what is wrong?" He immediately responded, "Oh! I can make a reservation for you." Why wasn't that his first suggestion?! ~ When I arrived to get my storage unit the help seemed unsure of what they were doing. When we were finally assigned a unit and took our first load up, we opened the unlocked unit to fin d it full of someone else's stuff! When I returned to the office, no explanation was offered for the mix-up and no apology for the inconvenience. Maybe a little better training in customer service is needed?

Most of the staff was friendly, but some could have been more friendly. When I moved out, everything seemed to work fine.
