Kimberly CHallways of floors and storage units you need to be cleaned a lot better very dusty. Need to inform people more about how to get into bay doors to get into the building to get to your unit it's not explained very well by the managers or by the employees. And storage prices here are skyrocket high not worth it

If you don't they incur a $200 fee I was charged said fee and nothing was ever told me that it had to be returned to the pick up location I do not recommend this location if you need a U-Haul

Tamara BWith exception. They helped check in the rental because I was having connectivity issues but they over charged me for mileage that I didnt use. They must have transposed the numbers. I drove around 500 miles and they put that I drove over 700z. Im still waiting for them to return my call about it.

Sharon C | Expérience généraleFirst off I asked if I needed it extended if I could call and ask for it to be extended. They said yes. I said without extra payment needed at the time? They said yes. So when time comes they ask me for payment or to return the truck. There was a snow storm there was nothing I could. Couldn't drive on the roads like I had planned. Secondly I said I wasn't sure where I was going to be able to drop off the truck then you want to charge me a $192 drop off fee. Some people need to be able to pay once they get their check Moving is already stressful enough that's why being able to pay the 19,98 or whatever it is upfront is great. But these people who you have working for you have no knowledge of anything. You get told one thing from one person and another from another. I even compared receipts from mine with a friend and its like yall make up what you want to charge at that time. I was never told i had to drop it off at that location i even asked. Ill pay for what I know I owe but I am not paying that wrong drop off fee.

Jonathan MI was running late to pick up the trailer, and I got a call from U-Haul (not the pickup location, from some office somewhere) to see if I still wanted it. I told them yes, and the lady on the phone said no problem, they'd hold it for me. When I got to the pickup location about 10 minutes later my reservation had been cancelled; however, they did still have the trailer and it was no hassle to revive the reservation. So 5 stars for the location, 2 stars for whoever made the call!

Linda FI hate to complain because everything went well. Everyone I talked to was very friendly/professional. The one thing that's sticking with me is the drivers seat belt did not work. Obviously the dinging is annoying, I drove back and forth from Akron to Loraine with no seat belt. When I returned the vehicle back to Akron, I let them know it did not work, so i could not buckle my seatbelt. The response was we new that before you left, but there is a shortage of vehicles. Again, everyone was very nice and friendly, but it just caught me off guard.

I just need it for a couple hours. So I got the truck and got it back earlier than expected. Thanks for the good service.

First they gave me a storage with 3 big rusty beams in the middle taking up space, the manager john took forever to do paperwork for the storage meanwhile I had paid movers waiting to unload my belongings into storage costing me even more money! Then they don't make you aware that a 26 foot truck can only fit into two of their bays, until after you have already pulled in, then finally thats when john came down to inform us we are using the wrong bay, then he says oh this happens all the time, but proceeds to charge me more money for the mistake no one informed me not to make. Then I called corporate only to have john the manager at 800 east tallmadge ave akron ohio close my complaint. I found this out after calling back a month later after No returned call. Just horrible its the worst u haul company I have ever dealt with in my whole 34 years!I Don't ever recommend anyone to rent a storage from this location.

Management talked me to death and made mistakes inputting my info for reservation taking almost 45 minutes meanwhile I have paid professional movers outside on the clock waiting. Then I get a storage unit with 3 big rusty beams in the middle taking up space so I had to go back over to office again to sort that out. Then I'm told my u haul was To big for the bay it was in. (No one told me this until I was already parked inside a bay) but not to worry this happens all the time. Just need to be sure the door closes. Door closes, but management still unplugs garage door and say it needs looked at by technician to check for internal damage. I was told technician wont be out until Monday or Tuesday. Meanwhile this all happened yesterday and today I receive a invoice for damages for $300 when I'm not understanding how management is sure of all this and the technician isn't coming out to look for another 2 to 3 days??? Management was very inconsiderate and he even laughed at me. All this on top of the stress of having to move my things at a short notice into storage because my landlord sold my home while me and my children were living in it. The manager of this location should be ashamed of himself!

Wilfried S | Expérience généraleThe young lady that assisted me was awesome...however, upper management could use a change...The guy, who I assumed was the supervisor, greeted me with disdain and hesitation, while sitting, and watching a video on his phone...He asked could he help, only to direct me to the young lady, who was apparently training a new employee...After being assigned my unit, I went and noticed another apparent employee, also hesitant to greet me and offer to help...She escorted me to my unit, to find it locked from a previous renter, as the locksmith hadn't yet visited...I returned to the office, the lady called to get assistance on switching my unit and was told to leave me in that unit, and he would go over and remove the lock himself...I waited, and he didn't show up...so I left and called the office to let the young lady know this...I chose to return much later when I could be sure that the situation was resolved...which it was!

The staff was also more concerned with flirting and sharing their food than helping me. Next time I'll pat more to get better staff. Lastly, the sign out front said "1 month free storage with rental" and I never received that. Don't advertise something that won't be followed up on.

Check in- young man was super slow - took five minutes ( no exaggeration of time here) to go over my renters policy. I had handed him complete policy and he then was asking inane questions. (Long story short I had recently rented a unit from Cuy Falls Uhaul. That guy was awesome- looked over policy put info in computer and was done.) I was renting 2 units and told him I only needed to purchase 1 lock as I had another uhaul lock- he then proceeded to ask me 5- yes count them 5 if I was sure it was a uhaul lock. Incredulous that I could possibly own one. Check out same you man was there - I went to other employees desk - yeah no better. Slow as molasses - kinda rude. Insisting on looking at my pics when I said I would down load them on website them I needed to get going. Then we got to the lock questions and employee I had on check in pipes in and says "but are you sure locks are off? " Ummm yes he again says are you sure- yep I gave him the death stare and he was like well you'd be surprised. Thinking I was done I turn to leave and I get the wait you got paperwork - and I have to wait while it's being printed. Seriously I nicely told you I was in a rush -( family member being rushed into surgery) you couldn't have hit the print button while insisting to look at pics and your fellow employee was drilling me about lock removal. Look I am sure you deal with all sorts of folks but I do not appreciate being treated like a moron - being asked the same question over and over. I also realize that staff doesn't have much to do but that doesn't mean they shouldn't try to expedite customer service- even if there is no one else in line.

Everything I had left in the world after my divorce and the death of my mother was in this storage. One would think I would be contacted so that my mother's ashes could be returned and any other personal items. Also, I would like to know how much my storage was sold for and did it cover what was owed and if not what is the remaining balance? Thanks

Went back to Uhaul office and received a card to swipe for access. Storage unit door still alarmed when attempting access. Movers were not able to utilize area that would allow them to back in truck to flat area. Instead they had to pull up to garage and pull sofa and loveseat on a dolly up the stairs. These problems occurred even after watching the move in video. The staff in the office were very helpful and accommodating. Next time I would purchase unit in the store vs. online.
Tiffani J | Online Move InThe reason why I had gotten a storage unit is because of my moving situation. I did not aspect to of had a storage unit with U-Haul this long. During the time with U-Haul, I was in a couple car accidents, seriously injured and caught the Covid Flu and was bed ridden for a couple of months. I did not mean to be behind on my rent but these things were negatively effecting me. The overall customer service with this location during my rental was extremely poor. Me having these issues, but still coming in and letting the manager know that I did plan on paying the balances was embarrassing. I did not want to be late on my payments. But the managers, etc. would change the rules of payment to the facility every so often; and it was too often. It seemed like depending on their mood, they'd tell me if I could make payments on the storage unit or I had to pay the balance in full. I've never experience this type of treatment anywhere else. They did not understand my financial or personal issues. They just looked at me as a person renting out a unit and forgot the fact PEOPLE THAT HAVE A NEED rents out units. Not just that, they by passed my extended time as a customer with U-Haul. I've had other instances, but they are irrelevant. The point is I could of still had a storage unit and the past due payment would of been paid down again if the staff at U-Uaul on Tallmadge Ave. did not change up with assisting their customers during difficult times.

I reserved a 10 x 10 x 8 unit but when I arrived to pick up the lock and keys they said it was not available which is quite infuriating considering that I reserved a 10 x 10 x 8 unit. So they gave me two smaller units. But the units were clean and the close out process when moving the stuff out of the unit and ensuring the unit is clean and not damaged was simple and convenient.

Eventually we had to drive around the facility to look for the unit ourselves. My unit was in a small side building that didn't even have a padlock so we had to ask an employee to open the door to access it. The small side building also had a small staircase and no ramp so we had to unload without the moving cart.

Had to rent an additional unit - an expensive headache! Actually, an outrage! Why was I given a reservation when unit not actually available? I tell everyone I know about this hellish experience. What a way to do business. I feel cheated, and was also robbed of my time after a long drive from another state; and, I had to pay my movers and my driver a lot more money because of their additional time. This should never happen to anyone; but from what I have subsequently heard, it happens all the time at UHaul. Additionally, your estimates of truck sizes and unit sizes is hugely underestimated, thus, people don't rent large enough trucks and storage units. These problems are serious and need fixing at the management level.

The manager in place at the time I rented the storage unit was a drug user and I discovered this was known to UHaul. She charged fees that weren't applicable, she refused to respond, etc. I reported a problem with my account on numerous occasions, was due a refund equal to over three months of rent (at least) and NEVER received it despite being I promised it on several occasions. I made it clear I would pay only after the appropriate refund had been credited to my account. It never was. They closed my account when I was ill and in the hospital and informed me the contents would be sold. I will *never* patronize UHaul again nor will I ever recommend them. I will go out of my way to dissuade anyone from using them.

You can imagine all the ill feelings along with the headaches ,threats ,liens late charges from corprate. Wiliiam Malog is a people person and talks with you to work out a problem or issue. Uhaul is fortunate to have a person like him working with the team and customers.... Without the customers it would be No Haul...

They said that it happens all the time, people order a vehicle storage only to find out none are available. Also, they charged me the same price for a single parking spot in their open parking lot as the 9x20 storage unit. It should have been less expensive as it was smaller and not enclosed. Very bad experience.

Marilyn P | Expérience généraleI was charged for a unit I never had access to. After reservo the unit, I was informed that the unit was only accessible during their office hours. However, the other units are available until 10pm. I decided to cancel the transaction. I was informed it was canceled and I would not be charged. I was charged. I have called SEVERAL times to get this resolved. The employees are extremely helpful as much as they can be. However, the manager is completely negligent when it comes to communication. Several employees have left my information behind and informed me she would reach back out to me. One of the employees even messaged her while I was there, then messaged her the day after again because she did not reach out to me. She still has yet to return a call and it's been almost one month. This is the worst service I've ever received from a company that I did not receive merchandise from.

Went into the Uhaul place 3x to try to get a date when it would be working, the people there had no idea. I had to pay movers 2x a deposit for moving revised had to cancel then had to pay extra rent at previous address because elevator was still not working when I had movers set up. I'm quite upset in extra costs I had to pay out because of this situation. Totally uncalled for.

The team on Tallmadge Ave., have been excellent and I do recommend them to anyone who is in the area & asks. Suggestion. Get someone to smooth out the flooring in the beginning of the 1200 row in storage, the choppy & potholed cement section is hard to cross with a cart.

Just an overall bad experience with this location!

I happy to say with a new Mananger Christine and Danielle, Customer service is again excellent and they were able to straighten out my account. The reason of the poor rating is a total reflection of past management, and the failure to correct my account.

Chizram o | Expérience généraleI have rented 2 plus storage units on Talmadge Ave. since August 8, 2017. I was quite satisfied with both the management and the facilty until June of 2019. The Facility did remain both clean and secure. The availably of carts and lack of customer service was zero. The Mangement is the problem. U haul Mangement seems to think Customer Service, stops as soon at a move in and a storage area is rented on an auto deduct. Danielle did an excellent job handling my move out of two storage units. She handled my account, rental equipment and provided excellent customer service. Her only limit was Management. An employee should never be put in that position.. I will be reviewing the total my cost doing business with U haul and whether I will continue to have a working business relationship with U haul in the future. I have Unit 1170 until 6/10/ 2020. This UHAUL Facility and Management has had ample time and to provide both fair compensation and costumer service and resolve any disputes on Units 1290 and Unit 1194 and chose not too. That was quite plain from 3/07/ 2020 until 5/10/2020.
