Truck was waiting for me at the curb. Only one negative: the windshield was a mess. I couldn't see well at all until I figured out how to turn windshield washer on. Every Uhaul truck I've ever rented, the windshields have been a mess inside and outside.

Sabrina VleeschowerThere is something funny going on at this Wilmington NC location. I dropped the rented trailer off two days after renting it in Maine and driving to NC. A MONTH later they tried to bill me late fees when the trailer ended up in MARYLAND. I didn't drive it there and the Matyland location didn't know how it got there. Either the Wilmington location re-rented it for cash or someone is running drugs in it. That's my guess. What a horrible experience!

Rented a truck and some loading supplies which were paid for with a debit card on line, then went into store a day earlier to get a dolly and was told to pay for an extra day which I did in cash. Two weeks later I get a charge on my bank account for a dolly that I already paid for. I called their customer service department and was forwarded to the store where this occured, the supervisor or whoever I talked to told me I did not pay in cash and to not file any fraudulent charges with my bank. If I go to my bank, he will ban me from ever renting with Uhaul. Basically, he was threatening me which he picked the wrong person to do that!!

Very misleading because there were more like 12 or 15 steps to walk to get to the unit. Not acceptable when you are dealing with the elderly! Period!

Also, the roads around the storage facility are treacherous. there are dips and curb bump outs randomly and I cannot imagine navigating in a uhaul truck. I had a time in my subaru. My unit was locked and I had to go to the front desk to get them to remove the lock. It was not a major issue bc it was during office hours but the video etc say you just break the seal and lock and key are inside your unit. That was not the case.....it was not a major inconvenience but had potential to be had I come after hours.

The only good part of this facility is that the staff was sympathetic when I informed them that multiple expensive pieces of furniture had grown mold on them. Keep in mind my furniture was only left in the storage facility for LESS than a month. I paid for an indoor storage unit, and it turns out those indoor units have access windows to the outdoors (or at least the hallway). When I was going to the storage unit, I was sent to it only to find out it had a lock on it. I had to wait in line for half an hour to tell someone I could not move my stuff into my storage unit. Come to find out, not only did the company have a lock on it, but it had not been cleaned. So I had to stand there while an employee got rid of countless spiderwebs and dirt. So that was a terrible way to even start the experience and on top of that, I found spiders, other creatures, mold, and pollen all over my belongings when I was moving out. When I initially expressed concern to the employee the day I moved out, they only told me that they would do me a favor by letting my throw my belongings with overgrowth out in the dumpster even though it was full. While it was helpful not to have to take my things to an entirely different dumpster, they had NOTHING to say about compensation for my ruined belongings or offering any avenue of help beyond a place to trash things I had saved for my new apartment. Fast forward three weeks, I've tried to contact the main department for UHaul for help with this issue, with no response. And then I see I was charged for ANOTHER MONTH on my storage unit after I was specifically told it was cancelled when I moved out three days before the contract would have renewed. Again, a nice employee gave me a refund and when I told her about my situation with my ruined belongings, she suggested I call the claims desk and said I needed pictures... well no one told me the day of I would need pictures. On the day of I was just told where to throw out my hundreds of dollars worth of furniture. The employee that day basically put the nails in my coffin in terms of claim requests. So overall, I wish I had chosen a different storage unit. The mold, pollen, bugs, dirt, lack of preparedness on both check in and check out have left a terrible taste in my mouth.

This was very discouraging. However, Billy at the Annapolis facility on West St. Was very accommodating and helped me find a comparable unit. He did a great job and represented the company well.

Julian Lahdelma | Online Move InIF YOU ARE ON THE FENCE ABOUT CHOSING THIS PLACE, JUST GO FOR IT--YOU CAN'T GO WRONG. I went there yesterday to rent a storage unit. I had no idea whatsoever what I wanted because I had never done this before. The assistant waited on me immediately. He allowed me to explain my situation without interrupting. Then he told me what is available, and the gentlemen showed me fantastic "real" examples of the various sizes of the bins and their prices. (They have walk-in samples right there in the office).I also was happy to get a "deal" of the first month free! They let me ask questions and answered all of them very thoroughly. They did not push me to make a decision. They were extremely patient and polite. Also, everyone's appearance was impeccable. As for their store? Unbelievably clean, well lit and bright fresh paint on all items (orange). The grounds (the actual storage area outside) was also clean and well-paved. I feel that my stuff is safe at this facility 1st, because the staff exuded "trust," and 2nd because they have an excellent security system. Plenty of parking. It just doesn't get any better than this. You wlll have no regrets.
phyllis gehman | Premières impressionsFirst let me say that everyone at Uhaul, at every location I've ever been to, is amazing, helpful, and provides a great customer experience! The Annapolis, West Street location was no exception - I truly felt like everyone I encountered had my best interests at heart and I was well taken care of. The facility, however, was a slightly different story. I've been a customer at Extra Space Storage in Baltimore, Tucson, and San Diego over the last few years, and while I realize that each facility is different - I've always been pleased with the state of the buildings being well built, dry (or very little evidence of leaking,) and readily available carts. But Extra Space has gotten quite expensive over the years, and it was no longer cost-effective to stay there so I switched to Uhaul after pricing 9 different facilities in my area, mainly because the customer service AND price were so great! The main office and grounds are fine at the West Street location, but going into my building (F) it immediately smelled moldy and musty. Furthermore, my unit showed signs of serious water damage - pink mold on the brick wall that likely weeps when it rains, and substantial rusting along the bottom foot of the metal walls. My understanding was that my unit was the only one of it's size available - potentially on the first floor - and after 6 hours of downsizing and moving from one storage facility to this one, with no sign of carts, and an impending rainstorm, I just wanted to unload as quickly as possible and get it all over with. Otherwise, I would have asked to see any other potential units. I have renters insurance and packed and stacked with potential water damage in mind, but I would be remiss if I didn't share how concerned I am given the state of the unit. The price is right, for now, but if it's raised like most others are I will likely find a different facility.
PIPER WATSON | Premières impressionsThe price is great for the area but I ended up going to another facility because the climate control wasn't very controlled and the facility and units were filthy and bug invested. The entrance doors aren't sealed so the climate control is only slightly there and it lets in bugs. Both units when I moved in had paint chips and dirt all over the floor, bugs and spider webs everywhere, and the lighting was very dim. I ended up paying double for an indoor climate controlled unit right down the road. Price is a factor when selecting a unit but I would pay slightly more and use this facility if it were better maintained. My time here was free with a trailer rental so it's not a big deal and I appreciate the free month.

He is very knowledgeable and capable in doing his job and getting exactly what the customer needs. The truck I used was very clean and ran well and the storage unit was very clean and easy to access. I would highly recommend Uhaul services to anyone without hesitation

Upon arrival the check in was smooth, but the employee did not go over any of the documents provided other than the directions to my unit. The employee cursed to other customers and it was unprofessional. With this being a new facility, I assumed my unit would be clean as I have used another company and did not have to clean the unit before placing my items inside. The unit had a lock on it when I arrived and I had to return to the customer service desk to get it opened. When opened there were mouse traps and bugs everywhere. I cleaned it all up and placed my items in the unit, but again this was not the experience I was expecting when getting this unit. Especially when comparing to another company and not having to clean my unit before using it.

We shared a few laughs and they explained to me how the facility worked. The issue I have is the hours and the passcode access. I would liked to have access to the storage unit 24/7. The major issue is the passcode. The passcode I was given does not work. I was then given a second passcode that did not work. I was given a third passcode that did not work and then given a forth passcode that did not work. I am still without a passcode and that is frustrating. Because of your convenient office hours I was able to get the staff to assist me. However the signage on the gate to the storage unit has the wrong office hours.

I ended up having to spend MORE money each month because of this. You should be honest when people "RESERVE" ahead of time and let them know if they NEED that size storage unit, the should reserve a larger one because theirs will not be available when they arrive. This is somewhat false advertising. STICK TO YOUR WORD! If I reserve something, this is precisely what I expect when I get there. Not having to find something else!!! RESREVATIONS are made on purpose. Have it available if you want customers to return in the future. Otherwise, you're not doing yourself any good if you can't stick to your end of the agreement!!!

But I travel for the government and was overseas when the notice came. It was terribly unfair to be charged these fees. I will not recommend u-haul to anyone.

The locker I rented had a lock that didn't prevent the unit from being opened, were it a long term rental I would have had them fit it with the proper lock. My first contact with them was when they spammed me trying to sell me insrance. My second contact was when they told me I had a late fee because they weren't getting the automatic payment that I set up ages ago. I'm disappointed that they've taken over the facility and will probably just move my stuff to a place that seems to have it together a little better.
