Need more help in office. Excessive time waiting in line. Man ahead of us spent 20+ minutes waiting to purchase one small item. Employee was apologetic and very pleasant once we got to her.

JAMES LUnfortunately, I had an awful experience. I was supposed to pick up my truck by 8am. Right before heading out to pick it up I checked my app and had nothing scheduled. Upon calling customer service they told me that someone was supposed to reach out the day prior to get me on the books. Because this didn't happen they could not give me a time to pick up because they did not know if anything would be ready for me. They offered me a 50 dollar rebate and I was able to pickup around 9:40. Once we finally got the truck we got it home to realize none of the equipment I ordered was in the truck. The woman on the phone told me it was something I should've checked before leaving and put the blame on me. I then told her I checked everything that the man at the counter told me to. She then offered me another 50 dollar rebate. Then after all of this the check engine light came on and we had to take it back to have it checked. The staff was kind but no one was ever apologetic for all of the mishaps. Every person I spoke to on the phone gave me a "too bad so sad" sort of energy which is very disheartening because I work in customer service myself. With all of these setbacks I went from being supposed to pick my truck up at 8am to having it at my home to load at 1pm. It made moving a nightmare and completely set me back. I received both of my rebates in the next couple of days which I appreciated and was not going to make anymore stink about everything that happened but then I checked my bank account today to see that U-Haul has removed 50 dollars. I have absolutely no idea why and no one ever reached out to me to let me know that they would take 50 dollars from my account. I'm assuming one of the rebates was reversed which is ridiculous. I would call and ask what the reasoning is but I am so completely drained with my experience that it is not even worth it to me anymore.

Tyler WRented my space two months in advance and they had already rented it out to someone else when i got there to move in all my stuff so we had to take two tiny units so far apart from each other instead of the big one we rented in advance.
Parker A | Premières impressionsThis location was great at taking care of the issue with the 1st truck i received. The 1st truck I picked up had bald tires. Unfortunately, after the 1st over mountain pass I found out that the rear axle seals had gone bad, saturating the rear brakes. This essentially left only the front brakes to slow me down. This made for a long, slow drove from Idaho to South Dakota. The customer service was great, but I felt I was put in an unsafe situation that should have been identified prior to me taking the truck.
Ross WThe trailer had not been washed before we picked it up, it was covered with so much road grim that we had to wipe of the trailer lights to see them. The inside of the trailer, however, was clean. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice not to worry about cleaning the trailer before heading out for our 500 mile move.

JOHN OOriginally tried using the app's "pickup truck from app" option. Did not work, arrived at location and took about 20 min to get set up with my truck. Staff was quick and easy to work with. Would suggest fixing or removing the pick up from the app option
Kylie BThey could not find the equipment that I reserved. They said I would have to go somewhere else that would have the equipment ready until 2:15 pm. I ended up walking the lot and found it myself. It ended up taking 50 minutes longer than the original time!!!! Completely unnaceptable. I don't know if this falls under the $50 reservation guarantee or not, but it most certainly should!!

mark mAround Half of our trip I noticed the left lights in the tow dolly wasn't working. I called ad a road service man came and said the the light was riveted in and couldn't be repaired b needed to be replaced. He then had to reconnect the tire straps because he said they were done so badly I was lucky the car in tow didn't come loose from the dolly. Until the Orchard, Boise Uhaul I had a lot of confidence in your service but that is less now. Add to that the Ocala Fla. wouldn't credit me for the delay it caused and charged me for 2 extra days. Not happy today.

tom kWhen I returned the equipment I parked where the signs tell you to park when returning equipment. I waited in my vehicle for approximately 7-10 mins for someone to help, the sign states that you should stay in your vehicle. After waiting I walked inside to get help and was told someone would be out shortly so I returned to my vehicle and waited. Someone showed up and asked what I needed and I told them I'm returning the trailer, he walked away and headed to the trailer. He shows back up after what I assume was him inspecting the trailer to tell me he needs to collect for the rental. I told him it was paid when it was picked up and the card was charged, he said "I don't know about that but this(showing me his phone) says he needs to collect for it, told him again it's been paid for and went to find the receipt and he told me I need to go inside to handle this. I go inside to speak with the lady and told her what he told be and she tells me that what he was telling me means he needs to collect the rental information on his phone and that he didn't mean he needed me to pay. I told her that's isn't what he said and he sent me in to talk to her and she gets annoyed and tries to exit to me again and I advised her I understand what you're saying but he's lost and doesn't know. She become more annoyed as I walked away with her repeating to me that he didn't actually mean collect payment, I told her at that point I understand, he does not and needs someone to tell him how to "collect" whatever he is asking for. I got back to my vehicle and the trailer was removed and the guy was laughing and wouldn't say anything or answer me so I told him to learn his job better and left.

Jami SInform customers in person how the online reservation system works, or verify that they understand how it works, when they arrive to pick up their truck/trailer. An employee hooked up my trailer I reserved online, then said, "You're good to go." AFTER I returned home, I saw an email from the system that told me I needed to verify I had the correct trailer (via license plate) and that its condition was satisfactory. But it wouldn't accept my responses because the gps told the system I was no longer at the U-Haul pickup location. So I then had to drive back there to submit my information. I don't live too far away, so it was a mild inconvenience. But it was an inconvenience, nevertheless.

Erin PCheck-in was quick and employees were friendly and helpful! The windshield on the truck we rented was iced up, but by the time I'd gone to get a scraper, it had been cleared quickly by a UHaul employee with a can of spray. Truck return was an efficient, no-hassle process even though employees had several vehicles being returned at the same time. They kept a courteous manner and organized their customers well. We left smiling and grateful for the ease of using UHaul trucks that day!

He was staring at his phone while I was backing up to the trailer. No help to line up to the hitch. When I dropped off the trailer they didn't check it in so I had to go back and let them know I dropped it off two days before. Overall not a smooth process.
michael rThe price. Renting a $19,95 truck for the day and having the bill come out to $88 is shocking and way to much. The price makes this an unrealistic option for an occasional need of the use of truck.
Cindi BI had a trailer brake installed. Eric was very friendly and did a good job. We had to reschedule first appointment because they had the wrong brake. Eric ordered the correct one and we scheduled again. Not sure who he answers to, however that person was very rude. When the office lady let him know I was in the lobby, he told her I could just wait or come back in 20 minutes. Apparently being 5 minutes early for my appointment was a problem for him.

Virginia GRainy morning! Did not use shelter for hookup site. Passenger strap was off at first stop. By Albuquerque passenger front tire had blown. Date of other tire was 12/22.. Rear tires were 44/22. That delayed us. We were not happy. But luckily vehicle was not thrown off trailer. Front tires replaced with new in Albuquerque after dark. Too late to travel for us. Possibly, if newer tires were in front with the load we would have avoided the blowout. When you pay this much for a rental, there are expectations. NOT GOOD!

I don't think you should tell your customers to buy lots of boxes because you will buy back the unused boxes, and then ask for a receipt when your customer takes you up on it. I ended up walking out and giving them back to you for free because it was too much hassle. Otherwise the facility is fantastic.

I had to change my pick up and drop dates, then had to reschedule the drop location after my original pick up location let me down (those kinds of experiences being the norm, working with a facility that has its act together is a dream). Having multiple dollies available at the entrance to the storage facility made it much easier to load in, and makes future trips to take things in or out more appealing. Plus, this place is SUPER secure - more than I had planned. That's the cherry on top.

But, U-Haul vehicles and a storage unit really helped me in transitioning to a much, much smaller home. It took me six months to adapt and consolidate and donate. I am now moved and have emptied my storage unit. I could not have done it without the U-Haul team, their supplies, their vehicles and facilities. I highly recommend U-Haul!

I think that is absolutely ridiculous. I moved out because you kept raising the rent every other month. It got too expensive. I wish I and the store personnel would've known better…no appliances, two bedroom house if you are wondering

After filling out the paperwork however it said I had to move in on the day I completed the paperwork aka the 5th of January. Why would it start me renting a unit on the 5th when I asked for the 17th? Essentially I'm paying for days that I'm not using. Extremely displeased.

When my payments got behind they worked with me to get a satisfactory agreement to close out my unit and get my belongings so i didnt lose them to auction. Would definately use again.

When I reported this to the office they said everything was fine. And it would be fixed (twice). The real issue was that when I came back log in and removed the lock from my unit an ear piercing alarm would sound for about 3 minutes. Just grew to expect it

Dwayne H | Premières impressionsWe have no complaints about the location or the manager on duty. He was very helpful and kind. My dissatisfaction is purely with U-Haul as a company. We reserved (over the phone and with a credit card) a 10x10x10 interior unit over a month in advance of when we would need it. A day before we were to move in, a U-Haul representative called to confirm our reservation. A couple of days later when I logged into my U-Haul account to view my reservation and figure out how to access it, I noticed I had no current reservations. I could see a "past order" with the confirmation number that tied to what I thought was my existing reservation. I called the service line and waited on hold for 45 minutes. When I finally spoke with an agent, she told me that there was no record of my reservation, not even my email or my name, in the system. I was baffled. She spent another 30 minutes trying to figure out why we weren't in the system. Finally, I decided to print off all of the email confirmations that I had that would indicate we had indeed reserved a storage unit at this facility and take them to the storage location. When we arrived, the manager who was working promptly recognized the issue and let us know that there was not a 10x10x10 unit available and the best he could do was a 5x10x10. Essentially, he confirmed for us that the reservation means nothing and the units are first come first served. I would have never relied on this as a storage solution had I known we were not guaranteed the unit we reserved with our credit card. We found this to be completely unacceptable and believe U-Haul should make it much clearer to potential renters that the unit they have reserved may or may not be available to them when they need it. Again, my complaint is not with this Orchard St facility, just the company's rental policies.

When I arrived I was told that the space was no longer available and that they had tried to contact me, but there was no contact information on my record. I know that Uhaul has my email since I have received confirmation. They proceeded to offer me a larger unit for more money -- one for 3x as much! Additionally, the room they finally found for me was in an older building with no elevator on the 2nd floor. No thank you! Clearly there is a breakdown in the communication between Uhaul and it's franchises. Why was my contact information not shared? If it had been, I could have more easily found another spot. Since my daughter was one of the last to move out, finding another space was a scramble. The staff, while friendly were not able to assist in resolving the problem, which could have been easily resolved by offering me a short-term lease on larger space at same cost.

No one was helpful in remedying this. Corporate blamed on Boise, Boise blamed on Corporate. No accountability!

Also, it took 4 1/2 hours between three of us trying to reach U Haul by phone, when we were on the 890-mile drive. U Haul compensated by giving us one more free rent on one of the storage units, and gave us $120 coupon to put towards the other one. The staff at the office were great and very helpful!

Shawn J | Expérience généraleFor a 4*4*10 the suggestion of it wasn't the best for a studio or a two bedroom as furniture would barely fit even if your bedroom breaks down. Since my storage is down in the basement it was hard to move the furniture with no cars or elevators. Overall, the staff is really nice but the storage itself does its job it just didn't have a stable ground which made it had to store my boxes.

Prior to my signing of the agreement, I asked if it was 24 hour access, and he said yes... then, upon showing me the unit, answering my question again, he said " Oh, not these ones. These are accessible during our open business hours." This is an outrageously enormous inconvenience for me. This was the only day I could move my belongings to storage. Due to working a full day shift, 7:00am to 7:00pm gives me about 20 minutes to do any moving... I have to be out by Saturday at Noon, and I just have to consider my stuff as a donation. I'm really disappointed in this specific business location. My family has used U-Haul for years, and they weren't ever lied to or manipulated like this... Why me?

With the "virus" going around I was told my online reservation may not be available when I needed it on 3/31/2020. The rep called me and had me check in 2 weeks early so I didnt loose the storage I reserved?....what's the point in the reservation then? This was completely unfair and infeel likening was robbed being forced to get the unit early so it wasn't "reserved" for someone else....complete bs

This office not only accommodated us, but they called us back a few times to help us get registered over the phone so our daughter could start moving in. They really went above and beyond. Plus we get a free month of storage because of the virus. We deeply appreciate that.

If you park in the designated parking area you have to walk 20 feet to the stairs that are towards the back of the dock then through the doors and around that middle section to the back where the stairs are then to your unit. Not terribly convenient. And often it's colder in the storage room than outside
