Uhauls mobile pickup process is fucking absurd. Provide 3 contacts for references, work contact, passport, redundant picture taking. My bank doesn't even ask for that much information and a normal rental car company sure as hell doesn't. I will NEVER rent again rent a moving truck from U-Haul so long as these absurd policies remain in effect.

The manager and one of the female workers were amazing! They were extremely helpful. The app and the check in process through the internet was awful. It took 45 mins to check in. These two ladies helped a lot. At one point the check in couldn't verify my location (though all my location services were on) and asked for the bar code of the location. Neither of them knew about this and the barcode we found on the door didn't work. It is very frustrating and I think I will try to rent through Home Depot from now on. The trucks aren't maintained well and I could tell the manager and the women helping me didn't like the guys who serviced the trucks. Uhaul wants to be digital but their app and check in process is awful.

The mobile pickup process is a chore and takes too long. As a customer, I want to drop vehicles and go. Not spend an extra 10 minutes taking photos. It feels like the customer is working for U-Hail. Let the staff do that return process.

The app has issues. I had to go in and talk to the guys to get the truck ID because the screen changed and I couldn't get back to the information and was really not happy about it. The reservation got very close to being canceled because I was 30 min late to arrive and I spent 30 min in the parking lot trying to get through the app. i was also charged for a Dolly that I didn't get and for a pack of packing blankets that I had to just take from the shed because no one was around, which didn't feel right... overall I wasn't thrilled with my experience..

The staff at this location was unfriendly and unhelpful. When I arrived to pick up my truck, they looked at me like that was something they'd never heard before. When I asked about furniture pads and a dolly, the guys working the lot pointed at a shed without saying a word. I was very disappointed at how unhelpful they were.

I had a very full truck of supplies to move to an event. I had a lot of paper material ruined in "mom's attic' from a leak. Around 25 books and 500 single sheet hand outs were ruined. Luckily we had enough which is why I'm not seeking to file any loss complaint. However, the truck I used should be inspected for leaks on the roof. Merci.

Very friendly staff. It is not clear that check-in should be done on the phone. A bigger and more clear would have been helpful. I lost 30 mins on a day that was stressful enough. Also, because another customer was faster with the check-in and got the vehicle that was reserved for me. It took the customer rep a bit to understand why the system wouldn't let her check out the car.

The staff is amazing - they jump in the help and they know their fleet. The location is convenient, even if there's no parking (it's within a 10m walk of Metro, though). They always have a decent selection of trucks. but... Improve the app - for the love of all that's holy! It couldn't find the location, it couldn't scan the QR code, it put me 20 minutes behind schedule. I am so grateful to the team at the desk for their help!

When you reserve a Uhaul you fill out all this information either on the app or on the website. EVERYTIME I go, the app doesn't work. EVERYTIME, I have to wait at the counter and refill out all the information. The service is incredibly slow and not helpful. EVERYTIME there is major body damage to the Uhauls.

In addition to the 10-foot truck, I pre-ordered furniture pads, a furniture dolly, and handtruck. None were in the truck when I checked, and then I was informed that there were none of any of these available. I understand inventory can be tough to manage, but I could have at least been notified before I picked the truck up.

The staff was short. I waited 40 minutes in line after my reservation. The woman employee vented to me. I didn't care. I just wanted my rental. The guys outside are rough and spoke poorly about a customer who left and wanted to ensure they would get a refund for whatever reason. Poor customer service.

Took well over an hour for online check in to work, and then when we finally got the uhaul there was less than 1/4 tank of gas in it. They didn't have either of the Dollies I rented and I still got charged for it.

Have the equipment available for pickup. I had to go to another location to pick up the 2 dollies I rented. It cost me an extra hour due to the time in traffic at the other location. That said, the pick up at the other location was very smooth.

The team working there is efficient and gets the job done. They focused on speed but not on making the customer feel welcome. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the speed, but this is just something that would make the service stand out even more. I do not recommend using the app to pick up or drop off the rental. It's not a good app; it's not user-friendly. And it takes longer because of the authentication part. The app misses the whole point; it's supposed to streamline the process and make it easier for customers.

I rented a van for 4 hours and used it to move a piece of furniture. I drove for 17 miles in total and put $7 gas into the van, I retuned the van with more gas than I took it out. But I was charged $36 for gas, after much explaining, the place still would not give me back for the gas fee charged. Unbelievable. I had to call the 1800 number to get it refunded. The 800 customer service people are very helpful and friendly.

There was no one there at opening, the van had the check engine light on, we didn't get one of the dollies but were charged, the van reeked like hay, the tank wasn't full, the images showed a new vehicle but there was s lot of damage, the drop off was confusing and difficult after hours, and the key chain was cracked and broke off.

The van smelled of cat urine and more. When I told the store clerk that there was a puddle on the front passenger floor and he came and checked it out he said was from their mop. I told him that it smelled bad. The odor was so bad that I had to keep the windows cracked from DC to Crum Lyn. The floors were so dirty that I had to be careful about what I placed on them. I had to clean and disinfect anything that touched the floors before I could bring them into my home.

Uhaul has a great, modern customer service business model. Their online platform let's you easily start/stop a storage rental and do a self check out of boxes in the store. Amazing. Saved me a bunch of time. When I needed personal help I I quickly got to speak with a helpful person in the store.

I interacted with you office staff twice; getting the unit and closing the unit rental. The staff that assisted me, two different persons, acted like I was "bothering" them. Is not what they said or what they did, it was their attitude. Their tone of voice was like they were mad, like they hated being there. They are the face of your company, the one I prefer for my moving and storage needs. I don't need pleasantries or even greetings; but, I don't need to feel like I'm a burden to you. I'm the customer! The paying customer. Based on this experience I'll never use U-Haul services in DC.

It is my first time requiring uhaul services, it was late and it almost close for regular busines hours which compel me to get the "24 hours access service" which by the way I just needed for that particular day the 27th of jul. I needed to storage my stuff on the 27th of jul, so between go and get my stuff and come back, the store would be closed, so the least I would have expected as a some sort of compliment for a new customer would have been to wave the after hour charge for a day, no big deal it is just a thinking, and the to be obligated to buy some specific sort of padlock it is kind of absurd but anyways it is what it is other than that I rate your service average. Customer service? Excellent. Policies? Not very good for customers. My opinion.

Had all my stuff moved out of my unit before I was due to be charged for a new month, but office hours were closed so I couldn't formally close out my account until the next day, and I was automatically charged for a full month regardless. I will not be renting a unit from uhaul in the future, nor would I recommend anyone to uhaul due to the uncompromising, all-or-nothing contract and refusal to prorate unused days.

I have a code to get into the storage area after hours, but the code doesn't work after hours. It only works on the office door. That set me back a day.

When we opened the unit, all of our items were covered with a film of white dust. Something must have fallen from Above. It took A lot of work to clean off our stuff. It was concerning as we don't know what it was and whether it causes a health risk. The office staff were unhelpful and just said - we should have gotten insurance. Unacceptable!
