GABRIELA S | Expérience généraleI was charged $151 for gas. That is fraud. The woman helping me didn't care how much gas was actually in the truck but went by what the system reported. I showed her a photo I took of the gas gauge. She didn't care. I brought the truck in 2 days early and much cleaner than when I got it; there was between 1/8 and 1/4 tank of gas but the woman helping me insisted it was below 1/8. I asked for a discount for only receiving 6 blankets, for a dirty truck, and for receiving a dirty truck. She refused and said I would be charged at $30 service fee and $650 a gallon. So I got ripped off a second time when more gas was put in at my expense than was in the truck when I rented it. U-haul has always treated me well, until this time. thanks for nothing. Conrad

The customer was just not a nice person and she handled her very well. My transaction went very smooth. The young gal at the facility should be recognized for her the way she handled the miserable customer and on Easter Sunday !

Spencer SMost of the employees were very nice and helpful except for ONE, when I attempted to ask on the garbage and dumping services, the old man rudely interrupted without letting me finish and yelled "NO" in my face then said "AND I DONT KNOW WHERE YOU CAN TAKE ANYTHING TO DUMP" I was shocked as I had been told by prior employees that you could pay a fee to use the dumpster for unwanted items. All in all completely ruined my experience and made me grateful I was leaving the facility with my items.

Donald SThe truck was absolute garbage. Horrendously maintained, and dirty as all hell. It was banged up and I had to take videos all over the truck so I could feel like I was safe against you coming against me for damages on a truck that has already driven over 170 000 miles. The steering rack is about to go, the alignment was terrible, you definitely have heavy carbon build up along all your intakes, and the truck averaged 5mpg when empty. Such low power. And for the actual service itself - your employee at pick up told me I could drop off after hours. So I extended my rental based on that information. Then your next day employee calls me and tells me this has never been possible, and I need to return my truck early. Even though I already paid for an extension. I bring the truck back on time, and find her drinking in the back. Drinking on the job? Nice. When I called to learn more about the early return, she couldn't be reached. I even called national dispatch and they couldn't reach her. They promised me she would call me back. Nope. Never did. Probably drinking. Can't wait to share this with everyone.

Gabriel H- I asked to park my car at the location and was told there was no parking, that I would have to find street parking in an adjacent neighborhood. For a multi-day rental this is not convenient or secure. It would be helpful to put this information online. - The convenience of the location is the primary reason I would refer this Uhaul to anyone - The van did not have a functioning radio - The dropoff was very easy, the attendant was very friendly.

Bri was the first and most often staff member with whom I interacted. and She stayed late to process my reservation even though she had a child needing to be picked up from the caregiver. She was direct and clear with the rules options,, and expectations. exoectations. Her and the rest of the staff knew their jobs well and were all friendly, professional and efficient. I am likely one of the top worst cases they have dealt with because of my poor planning and poor time management. I have been so bad that they might have thought I was sent by corporate as a "secret shopper" to put them through the ultimate test dealing with the worst kind of customer ever. U-Haul is fortunate to have such a stellar staff. I assume another of credit needs to go to the manager who has been there 20+ years.

Gas prices are extremely High and although I wasn't charged mileage the out of pocket expenses for EXTRA GAS was an inconvenience.

For those reasons in addition to not having 24/7 access to my unit, I would recommend people to look around for other storage facilities first. This would not be my first choice. There isn't anything special here. I have stored my belongings in other facilities that I didn't have these problems in addition to being less expensive. Very nice, big, beautiful facilities in Solana Beach in particular. I gage my experience with storage units with them. Uhaul is just ok. Not bad, not great

Also, the policy not allowing for a partial use of the storage unit was a disappointment. My move in date was one day after I had to renew the lease on the storage unit and I ended up having to pay for a full month. My previous storage facility gave us a refund on all days not used for that month.

Assistant was on the other hand her polar opposite : when asked a question , and I quote: uhaul's stated return policy for long distance 26 foot trucks & vehicle (auto) transports is that they must be returned "cleaned". I had on my return already swept the insides of the trucks cargo area and asked. "Where is the water garden hose please to finish cleaning the truck's inside bed area.....we used the truck to self move our 3 bedroom house and Toyota Camry car)...from Northern California to San Diego,Ca. Our retirement home. Considering that we had just finished spending over $1 000 Usd on related vehicle rentals, Dolly's, car transports and a two month 2 ten by fifteen foot storage rooms his sacastic reply to a good faith question was frankly not only shockingly rude on his part , but a poor reflection of Uhaul's otherwise above reproach customer service track record in my personal experience having always relied on Uhaul in the past on transcontinental self-moves ( San Diego county to Chicago & back, Houston, Texas to Long Beach, Ca. and San Diego to Magalia, Northern, Ca. This atypical behavior by Uhaul employees / franchisees with a client base known to be frequent customers on high end cross country moves if allowed to go unaddressed would be a poor decision by Uhaul . At the very least this individual needs a refresher training session on how to address customer questions that are entirely legitimate (I.e. where can I find a water fountain, or, can I please use the W.C., or again, do you have a waste disposal bin and finally can you help me find the alternative elevator for building number 5 (five); the reply to all of these requests was we don't provide the above....and to the later, having received terse replies from the desk staff I was sent on a wild goose chase through their warren of corridors to find building five units. At the advanced age of 76 years with limited mobility issues (I use wheel chairs, electric carts when available at airports and a Kaiser Permanente provided walker / cane when not....this was again indicative of a employee / franchisee lack of client relations by both management and staff. Once again!, the distaff side of the aisle performed and carried out their duties with near perfection ... In closing I want to add that the Oceanside, Ca. Uhaul team and San Clemente Uhaul Manager who is their acting Station Manager - covering for the recently terminated Oceanside, Ca. 802 south PCA Highway ( U.S. Highway 1 ) in Oceanside, Ca. Is to be commended for the excellent efforts of his staff in Oceanside and the obvious challenges facing his Carlsbad Station Mgr. she gentlemen definitely needs your help and to address the serious lack of team spirit among her senior aged male staff. IT took us 7 hours to unload our 20 foot truck and vehicle carrier at the uhaul storage yard and then haul it up to their two 10 ' x 10' storage rooms....at the age of 75 having to hold my bladder... Michelle in Roseville, Justin in Sacramento Kurt in Oceanside and Sonja in Carlsbad...all four Uhaul Mgrs. we're great ....but are limited by what corporate provides to them....
