The only complaint I had is that my boyfriend had to call to confirm that we could get into MY U-Haul pod after I had called to confirm I would have access on March 26th, per my online account saying so and receiving notifications about having access and I was told I had to give 24 hour notice before I could come, no other explanation. I explained to the man I spoke to that online it says I can access the pod, and I was told that was incorrect. I accepted the situation and scheduled to come in on March 27th. My boyfriend who had just used this same service in November, then decided to call on my behalf without even telling me he would, and he was told nothing of the 24 hour wait time and was told he could have access on March 26th with no issues. Don't know where the disconnect is but that was frustrating given that I was being told the opposite on my online account.

Venkat KOnly thing is to make sure the storage facility were box is moved to the facility let's the customer know on top of security lock customer puts on door they. Let customer know there are bolts screwed on for extra security and will need to have a wrench cause I went to empty my box out but didn't know I needed a wrench but the uhaul facility was good to take screws out for me othere then that all was great

I have used this service to move before and it is always the same. I am especially impressed that the rental units are delivered and picked up by women. I believe that is why they are so good and kind with your stuff!! I highly recommend!!!! And the price is reasonable too!
Julie SEverything was great, however one of the bags of padding that was provided was moldy. Other than that everything was great. The box arrived and was removed on time and with no difficulties. The driver was friendly and very skilled with the forklift. Overall a great experience.

Barbara HDuring the online reservation of my service, it was showing on the website to contact the customer service number and reserve the u-box during the call to waive off 1-month rental charge. I did that and got a confirmation for free rental for one month. Inspite of that I was charged the first month rent. I called the customer service to talk about this and the representative said the transaction will be cancelled after returning the U-box. I still have not received that money back. This is a scam.

The facility was not available after hours. I have lost $150 on movers cause when I arrived after hours I could not get in. The key lock didn't work. I called uhaul and it didn't solve the problem. Access after hours continued being a problem while my stuff was stored there

My container was supposed to arrive on 10/3 (Guaranteed date) when it did not arrive and they date kept being incremented I called only to find out that no one knew what was going on. Every phone call was transferred to someone who hung up on me. Eventually I had to GET IN MY CAR AND DRIVE because no one at any of your facilities would pick up the phone. I drove to the Largo location associated with the number that kept hanging up on me only to be told that the box was at a different Largo location (the one with the helpful operator Terry). I drove again to THAT location asking for help where I was told that IT HAD NOT BEEN SHIPPED YET!! This after previously calling the Chantilly location and being told that it was shipped and that I needed to call Largo. So after FOUR HOURS on my Saturday of trying to find our belongings I am told they have not been shipped and that an associate had inventoried the box as empty and not full. After Terry finally took ownership of the issue my box arrived 13 days AFTER my guaranteed date. Further, I have been charged the FULL AMOUNT for this rental in spite of the fact that you did not deliver on the terms of your contract. I was literally about to report my belongings stolen until Terry took ownership of the issue and actually told me what was going on. Mistakes happen, that's not the issue here, the fact that I could not get a straight answer, was repeatedly transferred to phone numbers that hung up on me and the fact that I had to get in my car and drive to a location to find SOMEONE who could give me answers is a complete and utter failure. Many of our belongings had tremendous sentimental value to us and we trusted them with you, this entire process was extremely stressful. That said, the on-location operator and the delivery folks locally were great to work with. Also, our first U-Box arrived without incident, I was a repeat customer. In fact, I find I need to make more calls today regarding more charges. I do not recommend using U-box until they can work out their customer relations.

I found them to be professional, responsive to questions and I'll have a "get it done" attitude. Seven out of five stars! Good job guys! All of my experiences have been like that at this location for myself and other friends and relatives I have helped with moves when renting trucks or trailers. Thanks for a great customer experience. I don't know if U-Haul corporate ever sees any of these… But perhaps your VP of operations should jump on a plane and go and look and see how this one runs. Most other U-Haul locations are terrible!

Venkatesh GDrop off was awesome. Pick up was TERRIBLE. I was stuck at our new location for 4+ days, as the Box was in the driveway blocking my car to exit. I had to Uber to get back to school supplies and get a ride from a neighbor to take my children to school. I called at least ... 10-15 times for pickup. On the 4th day, I finally got in touch with the ACTUAL local manager who had not been informed of this issue at all (despite being told otherwise). I loved the overall ease and experience, however, internal logistics and communication need major improvement. This was a huge inconvenience for my family and I. We just relocated to the area 2 day prior to the box being dropped off and were stuck here for FOUR! It costs me more money in drivers and a struggle all around just to get my kids to school.

Tim HThe UBox is hard to shut, especially at the bottom right corner. Furthermore, I was not anticipating that the UBox would be on a trailer at unloading, because it was and I did not know how to open the trailer gate in the best way; I finally got it off altogether, which might have been the wrong method and was rather heavy and unwieldy, but I could not pin it back in since the pins I took out seemed to have trouble fitting. However, I don't think nearby cars were scratched, my shipment came along well, and-- the Chantilly location was able to reschedule their final pickup on a day's notice.
Gail JThe parts for the bed that the movers disassembled were not included with the bed and went missing. Some of the pieces were slightly damaged but not unusable. I am having to buy the parts separately in order to finish assembling the bed. Other than that, everything else was great.

Tim HI had a terrible experience. The uBox that was sent to my house (and should have been empty) was full and padlocked. The movers had to go back and get the correct box. For the return of my items, the uBox was not ready when the movers arrived and they were held up over an hour - despite the fact that I had scheduled the moves in advance. In both cases the independent movers provided much better service (and customer service) than uHaul. Both No Limit Moving and Perspective Movers were polite and helpful. In particular, Dave and Tonya from Perspective Movers did an excellent job and I will be sure to reach out to Perspective Movers for any future needs and will recommend them highly.

Nicole FI did not go to the storage facility in Chantilly so cannot comment on that. The texts I received about delivery date/time and pick-up date/time for the PODS were not always timely, I needed to call to find out this information. It would have been easier to have the PODS delivered to my home location with the forklift machine.
Anna MEntire process was terrible from top to bottom. U-boxes were not delivered on time which delayed us leaving and cost us money. When uboxes arrived they were incorrectly scheduled for unloading at the facility not delivery. I spent hours on the phone sorting that out and was told Uhaul would deliver to my house for movers to unload. Never happened they expected my movers to pick up the uboxes. Which would have been fine if they had told myself or the movers that. We we're explicitly told uhaul would deliver the boxes. Got bounced around and spent hours on the phone with support to fix the issues.
Cord WI made reservations for both a truck rental and for a storage unit earlier this week. When I artived, I was told my reservation had been camcelled and that I needed to pick it up by 11:30 AM. I arrived about 2:00. Problem is that no one conveyed that requirement to me. Luckily another renter had returned his truck early so I was able to get a truck. But it took 20± minutes to get that done. I took the truck and.packed it. When I arrived at.the storage facility, there was no info on the document I received at truck rental time. I assumed the info was somewhere on that doc but I hadn't checked it prior to then. Then I'm told no unit had been reserved in the system. 15 minutes later the guy hepling me (who was outstanding) hot me set up. So for making reservations days in advance, I was forced to spend over a half hour and plenty of angst/frustration getting what I expected to already be complete.

Nicholas BStaff was amazing but the problem is the time it takes to get in touch with anyone. No one answers the phone. When I go to the center to get my box they forgot the latch had fallen off and they used star screws to lock the box. I had to then wait 40 minutes for an employee to find a bit to open the container.

Bill D | Premières impressionsMy U-Haul container arrived late at the Virginia location and was delivered on a pull behind trailer that had a ramp going into the U-Box that was supposedly "safe". However, the trailer's ramp was not safe and was actually completely missing a security bolt on the left side of the ramp. Whenever I would stand too far onto the left part of the ramp it would collapse and I would almost break my ankle each time (this happened about 4 or 5 times). The U-Box container was also picked up a day later than the agreed upon date. The People at U-Haul assured me that this would not affect my arrival date for the U-Box in Colorado multiple times. This was also wrong and the U-Box ended up arriving 4 days later than the agreed upon date because of the late pick up. I had it scheduled for a Saturday so I wouldn't have to take off from my new job of only two weeks where I didn't have any PTO to use yet. The U-box ended up having to arrive on the following Wednesday and I didn't get paid at work for the day because I had to unload the U-Box instead. The whole experience overall was pretty horrible and I will not use U-Haul's U-Box service again. I wouldn't recommend this service to anybody, your stuff won't arrive on time, the box sucks, and you can never get a straight answer from the staff at any point. Use a different service.

The office girl at the Chantilly warehouse in Virginia was less than personable the U-Haul attendant to bring me to my broken down box was more than helpful no one got a hold of me to tell me what I was gonna walk in and see the box apparently was lost because it was under a wrong name $100 gets taken out of my account for rental storage which they did reverse and I'm waiting to hear from the insurance company on items that are ear replaceable heirlooms so I will not ever use U-Haul again

Bruce FGenerally very happy with the service, but just a few things that could improve: 1) I got lots of emails from UHaul telling me the box was ready to ship, my credit card had been charged, etc., but I never got an email telling me it had arrived at the destination. And even when I called the UBox 800 #, they were unable to tell me "yes or no", your box is at the location ready to be picked up. I wasn't 100 % sure it was there until I drove there to get it. Seems like 1 more email saying "Yay, your box has arrived." would be helpful. 2) I was scheduled to pick up the box at 7am or later on a given day. When I arrived at 9:30am, the box was not ready for me to tow away...I had to wait about 45 minutes for it to be prep'ed for towing. 3) The big orange UHaul tarp over the entire box would not stay on, and was coming off as I towed the box away. I had to stop and tie a long rope around the whole box to keep the tarp from coming off and dragging the road. Again, generally very happy with the service, but a few things would have made it even better.

Having access based on the renters personal schedule was the winner for me. The covered private garage access to load/unload during inclement weather was by far the best. Unfortunately there was a mix up and my boxes were shipped to Hayward California and not San Francisco. When I explained to Uhaul representative that I needed them in SF he informed me there was a 100$ fee and he would wave it due to the mix up. As of now it appears that charge still stands. I do not think I should have to pay this fee since I selected delivery to SF but the website stated that there was no storage available so my boxes would need to be stored in Hayward.

Second, the system did not have me registered (I tried using the code as of yesterday it still lists me as "Pamela." When I tried to open it, the alarm went off. Third, no one tells you to bring scissors to cut the plastic lock, or cuts the lock before you arrive. Fortunately, the desk was very helpful in resolving all these problems so after 30 minutes I was able to move in.
