Honestly it was great. no problems except with the manager. The manager wouldn't allow me to leave my bicycle outside chained up. I rode my bike there to rent the truck and was coming back in 3 hours just needed to pick up some furniture. Instead, I had to drive home drop my bike before continuing on with my plan. I couldn't pick up my furniture that day, had to take off half the next day from work to not get charged for a second day on the rental. It was just really shitty. I asked if I could, and without hearing me out as to why, just said no without budging. I'll definitely tell anyone who asks to not go to that location.

This has happened twice now. What's the purpose of reserving so far in advance if I'm still going to be inconvenienced to pick it up?

chris leisterCustomer service at the pick up location was subpar (Costa Mesa). The example/process/explanation/graph they give you about the refueling was confusing and I overspent on refueling when I dropped it off in Scottsdale. Not to mention that the U-Haul representative in Costa Mesa was short in fully explaining/just breezed over paperwork and explanation of how to gauge the fuel reading. When I asked follow-up questions to get a full understanding, it was breezed over and it seemed like it was an inconvenience that I asked. I spent an extra $45, than was required when I refueled before dropping it off. I picked up the U-Haul just under 190 miles to empty, and by following the directions from Costa Mesa, I returned it with 245 miles until empty. Drop off location was great. (Scottsdale) Also- I have received about 4 phone calls, 3 emails and multiple texts about getting storage, but it's annoying. I was in the middle of my move today and I get another call about needing storage.- I know upselling is part of the process, but even if I needed storage I would not go with U-Haul, due to the barrage of calls, texts, and emails. If possible, I'd like to receive a call from someone to discuss further and provide more information to better explain my experience. I have used U-Haul for many moves, but this will be my last. Martin MastroThe return process was not easy. The mobile app would not work. I requested the authentication code like 10 times and could never get it to work. The location told me that if we didn't use the app to return the truck after hours, we would be charged $10. I hope that is not the case as the app never worked to return.

STEVE DAVISI was very pleased with my UHaul experience despite a setback on my move with the trailer rental. For background, I blew out a tire on the trailer mid-way through my 1000 mile travel, that caused delays in my plans and move. There was discrepancy on whether the emergency tire replacement that I conducted at a local tire shop was covered under insurance as I did not use UHaul's road side assistance due to the time constraints of my trip and my assumption that it would have been covered under insurance. In the end, I had put in a request to re-review the claim. It was very professionally handled and I was pleased with the outcome. My plans got a little sidetracked due to the blown out trailer tire, but due to how my customer experience was handled througout my entire move planning and more importantly to me how my claim was handled, I will recommend UHaul in the future and will work with UHaul again as needed. Merci.

Does nothing to deter theft of a vehicle. All I have to do is get a buddy to vouch for me and voila. That's all a thief would have to do if he planned on stealing your van. But you want me to call and wake up friends and family in the morning to verify me. GTFOH

Jaun GARCIAThere was a crack in the section where the mileage was showing. I mentioned at the Newport location and the check engine light came on when the truck was in Corona CA . I called and was told it was the gas cap and safe to drive so we kept going. Noticed a little play in steering that you may want to check. We arrived safelt and returned truck a day early with a full tank.

My contact wasn't driving the rental & wasn't in it so why do you have to talk to the contact. I had to wake up my wife after she worked all night. If this is truly U-Haul's policy you should disclose it during the online check in or at the time of reservations. If it's not your policy to call and speak to the renter's contact person before renting a vehicle, please teach Russell how it works.

Nolan SolowayThe van itself was good but the customer service at the beginning was the worst I have experienced. We mistakenly parked our car in the wrong place. Wasn't told where to park. Left to start using the van and got a call saying they were towing our car. I explained we could be back in ten minutes and he said I should have seen the signs and they were towing. I begged him and said it was a mistake and kept arguing and was rigid and rude and said they were towing the car. the guy who helped us at the counter was nice but absolutely did not tell us where to park our car. the phone call ruined our whole experience and I won't use this uhaul again.
