Vehicle was ready for me when I arrived; gave me a quick update of how to use the vehicle; i.e. how to turn on, adjust mirrors,, etc. Was much appreciated as I had not driven this type of vehicle before. All went well on return also.

The trick can was filthy and smelly. The staff at the facility were not engaged. The gas tank was half full. No easy loading ramp you advertise so much about. No loading ramp on truck I rented.

The staff is rude and unfriendly, specifically, the guy that inspected it when I returned it. The truck had transmission issues so it didn't drive well. The truck didn't appear to be well maintained.

I returned the truck with the gas on the same level I rented it. Got charged a refill fee anyway. Sent in the photos confirming the pickup and drop off gas levels. No reply. It was literally on E when I checked it out, so there's no way I could actually make it there and return it with a lower fuel level. The worst kind of BS upcharging.

Truck was not backed in, so I had to do the backing up to get out. The cab of the truck was stained by coffee and smelled of smoke. I would have asked for another truck, but was running late and the motor was running smoothly.

My belongings were present since after pandemic. Much change has occurred and financially it was challenging till I upped my skillsets and took a different route. Yet as Rodnai, a residing Manager at the location stated, "it takes a think." It truly does. Yet through the ups and downs her and upper management worked with me and I'm thankful for the grace. The place is clean and well lit. The issues were untimely like the elevator yet other than that they are clear about the rules. Thank you as I move forward to my next journey. Brooklyn/Virginia now TN. No more storages for me for a long time if at all.,

Other than a few extra minutes involved in the rental process, the technology, service, speed of check out, and quality of trailers and trucks I rented in the past including the recent 4x8 trailer are fantastic. The manager at this location is top notch.

The equipment I pre-reserved wasn't available. We booked our equipment several weeks in advance. No one contacted us ahead of time to let us know. When I asked the employees there about a possible solution they suggested we drive 15 more minutes away on moving day to get the equipment there. Once we got to that store, we had to start from scratch with a new reservation. Lastly the truck we got had mechanical errors and didn't seem safe to drive. My husband agreed.

I reserved doleys and when I went to pick up my equipment they said they didn't have any. The point of a reservation is to reserve equipment. The people at the front desk were not helpful at all with the situation and it was incredibly frustrating.

Arrived for mobile check in and phone would not recognize the location. Went inside. I reserved an appliance dolly over 1 month ago. The worker told me that they did not have any Dollie's at all. What is the point of the reservation for equipment when you do not reserve the equipment, at minimum you need to call me 24 hours beforehand. Moving appliances without the dollie drastically changes the schedule and ease of moving. I'll be using Penske from now on.

My experience was literally perfect. I hate I forgot the store manager name but she was phenomenal! She went above and beyond and was kind and cherry through it all. I've noticed a decline in customer service in general in the business world after Covid, so this one experience was amazing and made my move that more simple.

When the U-Haul truck was provided requirements for returning with applicable fuel. Filled the truck up and was still charged an excess that was proportionate to the mileage driven. When I asked, they had no clue and never check the truck, but just charged me.

The GM was on the phone with someone and was clearly getting annoyed with them, which she then took out on me when I was simply asking questions about my rental. She was rude and impatient. I will absolutely not ever use this location again.

The equipment dashboard indicated in print that it was time for an oil change. I've never seen that before. I can honestly say their was small trash and even a freezer bag left over from previous retail. I call afterwards to find out what the Environmental Fee consisted of or covered. I was told it was a fee that they charged. WOW.. really! Then she said she would ask her manager. A male answered later to tell me that it was only a dollar. Wow... Question still not answered. He told me that there was a box in the app to check that would give me the answer. I find it odd that employees don't know what or how to answer that question. I wouldn't rest until I learned the answer to better represent my company... obviously I am old-school when doing your best meant something.

Overall the experience went well. Although I would recommend and use this place again I highly suggest the employees clean the inside of the vans. The van I rented was not clean and had a bad odor. I had to wipe it down with a lot of Lysol wipes. I highly suggest keeping the inside clean where people frequent to maintain sanitation.

Minimal contact was made prior to selling my unit at public sell. I understand that due to circumstances beyond your control my account was severely delinquent. And without going into details I'll simply my circumstances changed for the worse to make it such. When I went to return the truck, about a half hour before the store closed on 1/13 the boy at the front desk who was playing on his phone refused to help me. This is before the store closed!! Instead, he pointed me to the after hours kiosk. It took me another 15-20 minutes to figure that out. In addition to that, I was charged an additional amount for the time overage. If it takes 20 minutes to return the vehicle once you're at U-Haul, the customer should not be responsible for that fee. I will never come back to this location and I'll probably never use U-Haul again.

There was only 1 cart at the facility and most times someone was using it. I left and went to another facility CubeSmart on Glenwood Avenue and they have four carts much more convenient and I'm happy now please purchase carts for your clients in the future because I'll never go there again. Moving is stressful and that makes it even more stressful when you don't even have a cart to use.

The only issue I had was that there were U-Haul Trucks in the parking spaces closest to the ramp for loading from and into cars. We had to park a distance away from the storage building doors to load our trailer. Also, a semi trailer parked in front of the U-Haul Trucks, blocking both access to the storage building and the exit to the facility.

After some code and alarm issues we were able to get in. I will say it would be helpful to have more moving carts. It was kind of busy yesterday and we were only able to secure a carpet cart vs a flat one which made it hard to move the heavier items.

Everything was seamless until I got to my unit and found that it already had a lock on it. So Kai helped me find a unit that was unoccupied in only a minute or two and that was that. Not at all inconvenient but interesting that the unit assigned to me was already in use. Regardless I will be using the location again in the future because of its accessibility and convenience.

Worst experience with uhaul I've ever had. Will never use Uhaul again. Card was fraudulently used and even with a police report the office wouldn't work with me to get funds returned. Had to go through credit card company to get money returned.

I had the best customer service here. Craig and Rodnai were very helpful getting my auto transport checked in and stored. They got me setup with storage. Unclear that you have to access an alarm keypad on the other side of the building before being able to key in at the access door. Sat on customer service line 30 min before figuring it out. The wide sliding doors weren't working, had to struggle to fit carts of boxes though tight single door with heavy door continuously closing into cart - quite a struggle. Generally messy common areas.

When I came I was pressed for time and aggravated from a conversation I had with a woman on the phone from the 1800 Go Uhaul number. This woman seemed to not want to help me at all and was only seemed interested in rushing me off the phone. When I arrived at the locations I explained to Jazmyne Howard and Zeek that I was pressed for time and needed to catch a flight. Jasmine was so courteous and went above and beyond to help me. She made sure I had a unit that was close to the front so that I could off load quickly then accommodated me and help me change my drop off location so that I wouldn't be anymore pressed for time than I already was. It was only because of her help and professionalism that I was able to make my flight.

I arrived just before office closing after a 6+ hour drive only to be told that the 10x10 unit I reserved 1,5 months ago wasn't available, and that no 10x10 units were available. I had even called ahead that day to confirm hours and availability, since I had movers coming in. After pleading with the employee, he magically found an available unit and granted me access. However, once the employees leave at 7pm on Saturday, the sliding doors to the storage unit are locked, which makes moving in a uhaul truck full of belongings very difficult. I had to again plead with the employees to keep it open for 15 minutes so we could get the bulky items out that wouldn't fit through the side manual door. No where does it say on the storage site's website that the sliding doors (main access) aren't usable after the office closes. Saying it's accessible til 10pm but not mentioning that piece is very misleading and unhelpful.

The only reason I said no to the staff is because they was not very helpful the girl that was helping me was like didn't care what I was asking her at all so I letting her know that I didn't have a key and did they have a master key or something and she was like well there's nothing I could do about it you have to call a locksmith order for me to get it unlockedget so had to pay for a locksmith then when I got my truck it was on e and so when I went back in and asked why was the tank not full she's going to answer me and say well that's the only truck we got what can I say what can I do about it in a nasty demeanor way but other than that the supervisor of the store Miss RODNAI DREW but she's very helpful very polite had a pleasant communication and I really enjoyed. Talking to her and thank her so much for helping me out but her staff she needs to talk to them because the one girl that had on a hat she was tacky she had an attitude and it was very unpleasant and she needs to learn how to talk to customers and explain things better because if she have to look like that in the office then she really doesn't need to work there or her face twisted let's twist it and it's just unpleasant I wish that I had a chance to meet Miss. RODNAI DREW before I left to tell her thank you so much but she wasn't in the store when I went so please let her know that I said thank her from the bottom of my heart but she needs to have a sit-down talk with her staff when she's not around and how they should act towards customers But over all Miss. Most of the staff is pretty friendly. However, when there were no cars to move my stuff out of the storage, I went to the office and a lady there was like "oops, sorry, nothing we can do about that." Most she did was to offer for me to pay one of the small trolleys. Finally, another lady decided to go for one of the trolleys that they had in the back, which are of the type that are usually in the storage area.

We arrived at the facility before 7:00pm, we notified the employee that we would be cutting it close. When my wife arrived at 6:57 pm as she was walking in the employee on duty refused to help her and directed her to check in via online. She was short in tone and obviously in to big of a hurry to help. We thus had to keep the 26' Truck for the entire weekend because of this. Which put our things at high risk being that I had To fly out the next day, so had to park it at a hotel until Sunday. The when returning, the young man who helped me was VERY NICE! but when I went to use my code and key and I didnt Work. Fun Aly after and hour of calling and complaining (it magically started working) I need Some sort of compensation extension on my rental or something. I'm a social Media influencer and have a far reach, then the manager FINALLY called today with and attitude with my wife. Giving excuses about she has a child etc etc.. Rodnai was her name. Attitude, making excuses for her incompetence employees. I'm very mild mannered by nature but this experience was so not right!

The provided access card did not allow access to the bathroom on the first floor in the storage facility. After normal business hours the access card would not work for the sliding doors. My wife and I had to use the small door to bring Furniture into the unit which was very inconvenient.

Used the online sign in and it assigned me a room that was already rented to someone. That facility is very poorly run. Your system availability does not match what is actually free. Also I rented a 5x10x10 off the website recommendation that it would be big enough to fit a 1-2br 1200sft apartment and that was a complete lie. I have to rent another unit because it was so small. I will not be using or recommending you service to anyone ever again.

Out of 9 curtesy carts they only had 3 mattress carts which were still to small to move my mattress and one flat cart that had a broken wheel. I did self check in and it assigned me a unit that was already rented and had a lock on it. When I went back to get another one that was bigger that one was also rented already even though it said it was available on their system. The person at the desk didn't know what they were doing. Forgot to give me my keycard. And the bathroom would not unlock for us even though after swiping the card it said it was unlocked. I will not be recommending this place to anyone ans will never use this service again. Thank god I only need the unit for 2 weeeks.

First I moved out of the storage on July 14th, 2021, with the assistance of the U-haul movers, and renting and paying for a U-haul truck on 7/14/21. When the U-haul movers finished, one of the movers gave me my 2 set of keys to the Lock, and NO LOCK!. I asked where was the Lock because they knew I was moving out (permanently). He told me it's still on the storage door. I couldn't believe it!. I finally was able to get through on the phone to U-haul, the first person said they would let someone know. Then a few days later I receive a late notice letter. I called again and the 2nd person said they will have U-haul on Capitol call me. I received another letter the next day with late charges. Not being able to go to the storage myself, because I just started a new job and the time's of operation conflicted with my new work schedule. I called again#3, and finally spoke with someone who understood and remembered me, there that moving out day July 14th, 2021. FINALLY the issue was resolved.

I purchased theClimate/Temperature controlled storage unit. The AC was not working properly. The main reason for obtaining the temperature controlled units is to store items from heat spoilage. I hope that this issue is resolved soon. I will be visiting the storage unit in the next several days to ch check on this matter. Merci.

I am giving U-Haul the national chain a VERY poor rating. The local people were nice and tried to accommodate a poorly run-company. Yolanda , which I assume was from your National cust service center, sent me to the Capital Blvd location from the original Chapel Hill location where the pods were to be stored. She reserved a 10x10x10 unit. I also called back to get another unit since the 10x10x10 was not large enough. I reserved a 7X23,5X6. When my movers arrived at the Capitol Blvd location. There was not place to park the truck. I had to drive around to finally find a place to park my car. There was one guy working the desk and a long line. It was chaotic. When i gave my reservation to the young man, I was then told the only units at that location were 5X5X6 units. I could possibly get four different units. He was not sure if they were rented or not. I had to walk to the units to see if they were actually open and not rented out. What kind of system makes reservations but actually does NOT have what you reserved? Moving is so stressful and to have this debacle from U-Haul is highly unprofessional and unacceptable. I am so frustrated that I even used U-Haul. I would have been much better off going with a less crowded, closer storage unit. The stress of being told my six pods were cancelled, I did not think that I no longer needed to be with U-Haul! I would NEVER use U-Haul or recommend your company. I am a realtor and a home stager and I will make sure my experience is known.

I arrived after 6 pm to unload and move into a storage unit. The lady running the office was worn out from the day. I could tell that she was spent, but she remained professional and accommodating to insure that I found a unit large enough (I had to increase once I saw the size I booked). This facility was extremely busy, right up to closing time at 7 pm. I can imagine that she was understaffed for the busy Saturday. I appreciated her help and we got moved in without too many additional issues.

Upon setting up my storage unit at this location, my account was not set up correctly twice within the span of 3 months. I almost had all of my stuff moved out of my storage unit 2 times because the previous staff did not file the proper paperwork in order to secure my unit. This after each time, I verified with them before leaving the location making sure there was not anything I needed to sign or check. Yet, despite this they still failed input my information properly. However, I will say that with the new management that came in this location has gotten a lot better than it was before. I just had a horrific experience upon moving into the unit. The main reason I am leaving such a review is because I had to put a majority of my belongings into storage while waiting for my house to be built. Thankfully management didn't move my belongings out, that I will give them credit for.

When I closed my account yeasterday the key to my unit did not work. I was told if I lost my key I would have to call a lock smith. I the mean time as i waited with professional moving crew that cost $129/ hour TWO OTHER people came in and complained that they could not get into their storage units for the same reasons. One of the persons has 2 units and couldn't get into either and cut his own locks off. Finally some one with U-Haul came and Grided my lock off. it took an hour and cost me $129 for movers to sit and wait. I'm also concerned about the security of the building if locks can be changed or switched without my knowledge!!

The store was very busy and he worked quickly to assist all of the customers while the General Manager stood outside doing nothing but watch the line of customers grow. When the General Manager decided to come inside to assist, her behavior displayed that she really was not too happy about working. Justice meanwhile went above and beyond and seem to really enjoy his job in helping others. Justice is definitely Managerial material and this was one of the most pleasant and fastest transactions I have received in customer service!

I showed up before closing and got a unit. I was then given a code that didn't work and then the office closed and refused to help me move in order to move my stuff in that night. I was incredibly disappointed and will not be using this location again after my free month is up.

I reserved my unit online to find out the units I reserved/paid for were someone else's units. They had to find an open one for me to use in which was beside a mechanical unit that was leaking into the unit the moved me to. I ended up spending 3 hours more than I needed to at this facility due to the poor maintenance and lack of organization. I will never recommend this place.

Booked a storage unit in person and the person working there gave me a storage unit that was already in use on the first floor. Since they did not have storage units of our size on the first floor, they then assigned us one on third floor. This unit was also in use by another customer. The staff was not super helpful throughout the process and had a slight attitude when issuing the refund for the lock I purchased. I was satisfied with the uhaul truck and the relates services but I was not satisfied with the storage unit offering and had to cancel my unit

I had originally moved in back in December. I was a key card and allowed to move my stuff into the unit. However, when I tried my key card one night it didn't work. When I came the next morning their was an extra lock on my unit. Come to find out, the employee who signed me in the day I moved in didn't do anything other than open up to unit for me. Thankfully, the employees this time knew what they were doing and set up my account correctly this time.

I was very unhappy with my experience in storing my household items at the U-Haul down town Raleigh facility. Upon moving my items into my new home, I came to realize that I had a roach infestation that had occurred in my pack boxes I stored there for 5 months. I put in a complaint and it was not resolved successfully, after submitting a claim requesting to have my new home exterminated. The $125 estimate to have my home exterminated was denied by their RepWest insurance company that's supposed to help with U-haul customer complaints. Saying that no negligence was found on the behalf of U-Haul. This determination I disagree with, because they should maintain their property by having it treated for insects to avoid these type of occurrences. Before submitting this review I made one last effort to reach out to Management and got no response. So, since the company has emailed me asking about my U-haul experience, I'm left with no other choice but to be honest and say... It's been a very disappointing experience with storing my items at U-Haul downtown Raleigh on Capital Blvd and I will not ever be using U-haul services again in the future.

Staying here only based on convenience. The storage area was completely trashed -- random things just piled up in the common area in the entrance. The bathroom was also destroyed and looked like it hadn't been touched in weeks. And the towel dispenser did not work. Total disarray.

Two opposite comments: Ruben, your employee at the Raleigh location, was fantastic. Knowledgeable, patient, friendly, responsive, a stellar representative for your company. I cannot give him enough stars. Really took of us. The opposite issue is safety that has nothing to do with your team. Three young adults and I ended up moving stuff into the unit around 9:30 pm. There was a man there, he did not appear to be the security guard. He left the door propped open with wood slivers while. He stood with his back to the door on the phone with a cigarette. He also did not appear to be a customer nor work there. My biggest issue is that he propped the door for a good length of time (15 minutes??) after dark. It did not feel secure. I'm not sure why he was there but he was not moving anything. If he's a security guard, my suggestion would be he does not prop the door open because that defeats the entire purpose of needing a key card to get in

The reservation time for my truck ended and I could not add additional time due to the next reservation. This cost me an additional $50.00. I would suggest allowing space between reservation scheduling to adjust for changes in plans. I had to reload the truck and it took extra time. Valerie Boyce
