Drop off was 100 times better than pick up. The person was knowledgeable and friendly. Location was a breeze getting in and out. I will definitely deal with them again

Horrible experience, not the 19,95 that is advertised. Also had to pay 6$ because I went over the alotted miles. The employee offered me my receipt and I told him no because I didn't want to remember my U-Haul experience. Will absolutely be the last time I use this service.

Vehicle needed plugs changed did not notice until we started driving it. Kept trying to stall each time we came to a stop. The steering wheel had a lot of play in it. The exhaust also needed fixed when we returned the vehicle we told that location all the things that was wrong with it so hopefully that place would be able to fix it. I should've asked for a refund..

Unfortunately, I drove the van in a snow storm and the state had not plowed the roads. I would rather drive with rough tires in the winter in West Virginia. All season tires are not appropriate to drive a van on slick roads. Thankfully, I was able to keep the van on the road without an accident, but I had to drive a lot slower than I had hoped to.

Breaks on the truck were starting to click when depressed and they acted like maybe one of the breaks were trying to lock up. I notified the lady employee upon returning the truck.

The truck was new! 2100 miles on it. I can't say anything bad about the truck. I reserved the truck and the salesman on the way out to get the truck said anything over the 100 miles would be 0,49 cents per mile when I looked at the receipt when I got home they charged me 0,69 cents per mile. I called in to talk to someone the person on the phone told me a manager would call me and I haven't heard back from anyone in a couple days! When you check out they have you sign electronically before you see the itemized receipt!! I suggest you ask to see an ITEMIZED RECIEPT BEFORE SIGNING ELECTRONICALLY !!!! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE CHARGES ARE SIGNING FIRST!!! AND DONT EXPECT SOMEONE TO CALL YOU IF THERES A PROBLEM AFTER THE FACT THEY WONT CALL !!

Really a top-notch climate controlled storage solution. The staff and management always are there to answer a question or answer the phone (important!). Easy access points. Very clean. Even the bathrooms are a nice place to sit and ponder your next move.

We have used Uhaul services all over the US and without a doubt the team at the Elkins, WV location ranks at the top. The facility itself is impressively maintained along with the trucks and the personnel are efficient & friendly.

Dropping off was extremely easy. I traded the box truck in for a van. The van that I was given was not cleaned. It had garbage in the interior. The smell of cigarettes was so overwhelming. I was given odor band to spray inside the cabin. So far it is not working. I also use my own personal febreze and that is not cutting through the cigarette smell.

I rented a small, climate controlled inside unit. It was super clean and access was much easier than I thought it would be. Pull up to the front door and load up your stuff on a cart provided by U-Haul, wheel in and unload in a clean, dry climate controlled area.

The staff on site at the time of my move was extremely helpful and patient. He answered all my my questions efficiently, walked me through confusing steps, as well as showed compassion. I wish I knew what his name was. He was great.

I really enjoyed the gentleman on the phone he was polite and very helpful. He mentioned that I could do it online because I needed to talk to my spouse and see which size unit we needed. So I really do appreciate his patience and his time going through giving me the prices and sizes. He was excellent. Overall I had a wonderful experience.

Yesterday,2/25/23, I arrived at your storage facility. There was a young man standing outside smoking by the main door. As I was looking for my code to open the door, he explained I had to first go to A12, then return to the second keypad and put my number in. He then went inside as I moved to door A12. I typed the code into door A12 and then down the side walk to the next door. There, I repeated the code entry. The door did not open. I repeated the process again in the cold sleeting weather with no success. I proceeded to the empty office and explained to the young man that I was having a hard time getting into the building via keypad. He immediately sounded angry by his loud and abrasive tone. He repeated the directions to which I responded that i had followed those directions. In his aggravated tone, he repeatedly hit his hand on the counter in a cutting motion. At this point I informed him I was not going to deal with his attitude and him waving his hand in the air to me. I requested the storage be discontinued. He then stated "I don't know how much simpler I can make this" and repeated the steps again. I again told him to cancel my rental because of his behavior. I still do not know why the code would not work after entering into the keypad as instructed. Maybe it was the wrong code? Maybe it was a computer glitch and was deactivated? I don't know. Instead of getting up to assist me or checking the codes to ensure they were correct, your employee attempted to bully me into thinking I had not followed the correct directions. This was not the case. Because of his actions or lack of action, you have lost a costumer. Thank you for your time. Rachael Baumgardner

Moving is a stressful and often painful experience. The UHaul folks were fantastic and took away the stress part. The storage unit is perfect and the facility is spotless. The truck was ready to roll in less than ten minutes after walking through the door. All aspects of this facility get the highest marks from me and will be recommended to everyone. Thank you again!

Although "No" was selected for numbers 4, 5 and 6 above, it should be noted that these were not "No" all the time. During the period of time we rented from u-haul, we had varying degrees of staff interactions, and varying experiences with cleanliness and maintenance of the facility. On multiple occasions over the most recent 3-6 months interactions with u-haul staff members were short, unfriendly and unresponsive. Leading up to our vacating of the 3 units we occupied, the general manager-Jimmy Kissamore-was left 3 messages with staff member Liz asking for a return call and one was never received. Additionally, three messages were left for regional manager, Marc Arnold, with no return call. Simply due to the lack of customer communication, I would not recommend others utilizing this location for their moving and storage needs.

I wish all storage places were as nice as this one. It was clean, affordable, accessible 24 hrs, and the staff was beyond excellent. I've gone there in the middle of the night before and felt safe. The staff would go out of their way to help you. I once accidentally left some things outside of my bin and didn't realize until I was an hour away. I called the next day, and the staff held the things for me until i could get back the next day to pick it up. If I ever move back to the Elkins area again, I'll definitely go back. Thank you .

If a renter for whatever reason is unable to get the padlock off the unit. Uhaul staff should be able to provide bolt cutters to cut the lock off. And even assist in cutting through the lock. Instead of telling the customer if you damage the doors in any way you are responsible. So a locksmith came and in 5 seconds used bolt utters to cut through the lock. And yes in case you are wondering. There was no damage done to the uhaul door.

No prorating. A full month charged for one day of storage. Charged for a 2nd unit that I never used. Staff is all lazy and rude(including the general manager). Units are on autopay, yet when I showed up to clear out my unit, It was locked out for nonpayment(my credit card WAS charged). This place is a ripoff. I would ever use this facility again. I will be posting on Facebook and informing everyone I know of my unpleasant experience at Uhaul of Elkins WV.

Only two areas to access inside. My units have two sets of doors within 50 feet that could be utilized to access storage area. I had a 24 ft uhaul Packed full and had to carry all items down numerous aisles and around three sets of storage unit sets. The distance from the truck to my storage unit was ridiculous. When questioned Jim Kisamore was less than cordial, and yes I was very upset because I asked before renting if I could drive up to the units or did I have to pack everything in, and was told I could drive to the unit. Another person unloading was not happy about the lack of convenient access also. A key pad at the doors in the far left unit area would be greatly appreciated. One of the bay doors was damaged so the manager shut the entire unloading station down but even at that, the distance from there to the 12## units are not at all convenient and I have 2 10x10 units packed full. I am not looking forward to having to move my stuff again. Again, I implore you to offer access through the doors already there in that area. The other downfall is there is no ceiling in the units, everything will be dust covered.

Thank you !! The storage units are very nice and i didnt have to stress about anyone breaking into my storage unit and taking my things so that was a relief . It is a very safe place to store your stuff and if i have to get a storage unit again i will definitely go back to u haul place!!! The people was very nice and helpful and walk you through how to get in for the first time and help after if you need it! I would recommend uhaul to anyone that asks about storage!!

Wild have rated higher but felt it was a bait switch when unit size booked in march was not available snd had to rent more expensive larger unit.

I haven't always have good dealing with u-haul, but the Elkins, WV store is an exception. The staff is always helpful and willing to go the extra mile.

Great!I never had a problem.The instructions were easy to follow.The facilities were impeccably clean.This includes the storage unit itself.

The only issue that I had was my key cards never worked. They would issue me new ones and they still would not work during a return visit.

Great facility and friendly staff. Got a little turned around with the location of the loading dock and after hours checkin, but all was good in the end!

I am a displaced college student, and I utilized the free 30 days of storage that U-Haul offered to us. It has helped me and my fellow students immensely, and I will forever be grateful for the help in this time of need.

The girl I originally talked with was very helpful. The guy who was working on Sunday wasn't very helpful. HE told my daughter that he could not find the reservation even with the emailed reservation number. After several attempts he was finally able to find it. Very frustrating to have to deal with that kind of incompetence.

I used 2 of these to get moved across country. They worked great, the 27 v10 truck I had was much better than the v8 my wife drove. Both pulled cars and got us into storage then home. Thanks uhaul.
