A truck with out issues the fuel gage was all messed up it said 0 miles even thou I filled up a quarter tank I got charged for gas that I paid for

I thought it would be convenient being an outside storage but unfortunately that whole area is where vans are stored and near equipment returns so once I moved items in and it was always a task and time consuming to get trucks or vans out of the way in order to access my unit. There were times I had to park on the side and walk up because of overnight returns and even times where I just left because it would take about 30 min for them to clear my storage. Most of the staff were very helpful and pleasant especially Ms. Lee but i just think it's a waste of time and bad business to have that area blocked 90 % of the time but offer it to people.

Absolutely nothing I reserved a motorcycle trailer with the wheel chuck and the one they gave me didn’t but I let them know and they gladly let me switch with no problem

This place is conveniently located but picking up a truck is usually 45 minute to a hour long experience just to get the keys. I've only ever seen one person at a time working the counter and they move at a glacial pace. This particular time I called in regarding questions on my reservation and got put on hold for 30 minutes, eventually had to hang up and call back again to finally be able to speak to someone and was told to call my drop off location instead.

People and services was ok. However, I booked a vehicle for a day and was given 4 hours. I had to have them changed it to the 24 U-Haul stated in the agreement. A day is 24 hours. Not from 2pm to 6pm. Please change that policy or I will change my mind about using your company again.

Had problems with reservations system and the van I rented. First, I was assigned a van that was blocked in by another van. After spending a few minutes getting a second van assigned and driving away, the "add oil" warning light came on. Fortunately, I was only a few miles away and returned the van so oil could be added by u-haul staff. Despite adding three quarts, the oil light remained on and I was assigned a third van, which required me to unload the second van and transfer the cargo to the third van. U-haul staff were helpful and helped me with unloading and loading but I can't understand how a van with no oil was rented to the public. I've had good experience with this location but am not sure whether I'll haul again.

Parking at location was an issue. Very packed at front of the store and made it hard to get inside and too the back. Blankets in truck were very dirty.

General exterior litter pickup especially at the loading dock. It's not horrible but it is noticeable. We still give an excellent rating compared to other rental properties.

The people who work at the U-Haul Center at 8501 Snouffer School Rd are wonderful. They are helpful, friendly, efficient, and extremely careful. All of them helped us so much. They are the most important part of the business.

As a business owner, time is money! Made a reservation for 10 AM for a pick up truck and was told not a problem. I called in advance explaining I was running late and would be arriving at 10:30 AM. Only to arrive to discover there is not a pick up truck on the premise. At this point my hands are tied and did not have time to go to another location to try and secure another pick up truck. I took a van and place of the pick up truck. It was a risk I had to take because I needed to get inside the garage and the height of the truck concerned me. when arriving on the premise to do the work that was necessary we discovered the van height was too tall. This made our workload more difficult because my staff had to walk a great distance back-and-forth instead of taking the pick up truck directly to the source. The staff at Gaithersburg were pleasant; however, I requested on February 8 when returning the truck my displeasure and how this costed me money due to the labor involved. I requested someone from U-Haul call me and presented my business card. Nobody ever called me. Not very good business relationships.What is the purpose of making a reservation if the item/truck is not there. Why would someone not call me and tell me in advance that they have a challenge procuring a pick up truck? I made several phone calls to U-Haul out of courtesy but yet they couldn't call me or tell me they're having troubles securing a pick up truck when I called them? This would have allowed me to make other arrangements with some other other rental agency. Makes no sense!

Make sure vehicles are serviced before renting. I had 3 warning/service lights come on while renting the truck - low oil, low tire pressure and a stability warning. Very stressful when you have a vehicle full of furniture.

The location is great, the staff goes straight to the point while processing the rental, but the trucks are the ones aging and not always in the best way. The one I got sounded like it was a 3 cylinders speeding at 200MPH, when I was actually driving at 50MPH, definitely something was not right with it. Even going up some hills on I-70 I had to move to the right (3rd lane) to let the 18 wheelers pass me.

I was charged to fill the truck with gas. I filled the tank more with more gas than when I picked it up. I have the receipt. U-Haul said unless I have a picture they are charging me for gas. I put 23 miles on the truck total. I will never use U-Haul again. I have reported the location to my local consumer affairs division.

Overall, the experience was great. The equipment was ready on time, it was clean, ready to go when promised, and the staff were friendly and helpful. This is the second time I have used this U-Haul location, and I will certainly use it again.

This was my 1st time use at your location. I had a lot of trouble dropping off the trailer w/out assistance to put blocks under the wheels. This was exhausting (25 min) to hold the trailer back & keep pushing it back w/ the slight grade as I eventually can up w/ a plan that ultimately worked. Bottom line, assistance was needed.

Stop gouging customers for gas and service fees. We get you make more money that way, but it's also super blatant and puts us off. Other rental companies don't have this many hidden fees

Kirvin was the person who set me up and was super helpful, respectful and patient while I was going through a tough emergency and he worked well with me to make sure I reserved my storage unit and the process was smooth and easy. Also the GM Jonathan was super helpful and responsive when I had to call him after hours for a quick fix. I appreciate the team at the location. They deserve a raise.

The restrooms are always dirty P all over the floor and there was never soap or toilet paper. As well as roaches coming in and out of the electrical socket of the bathrooms. There were tons of mice. Majority of my clothes bins were filled with mice poop and boxes of items were tore up from mice as well. Overall very dissatisfied with everything especially with the one lady at the front she was very unhelpful lack of communication and overall was just very rude. I would not recommend this storage to anyone. I have used storage for many years and this one by far is the worst one I have used

Your accounting system is poor. You attempted to charge me 3X's for a unit I had vacated and after repeated attempts of mine to correct YOUR mistake you THEN attempted to not only charge me for a rental I vacated but ADD a late charge. That could be construed as harassment and is illegal. It took me calling National HQ after a 1AM (1252 SUNDAY) email from you to correct the situation. I am still unsure of the status but have blocked you from my VISA acct. I will not be seeking anything but neither will I be recommending your particular facility to anyone. Resolution of issue HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH my experience with your business.

I feel like a rep should have escorted me to the unit for the first time. Had to load up then go back and purchase a lock , which I wanted to do in the beginning. However the rep said no. It could have saved me time

My only complaint is that the 24 hour system does not work at this location. Unless you are inside before they close at 7PM or 8PM, you do not have access to your unit.

I been doing business with uhaul for many years but my experience at this location 8501 Snoffer School Rd was not pleasant especially dealing with Pham the Associate that dealt with me. She turned me off. Though I will continue to do business with uhaul.

I had a first month free storage available and was ready to activate it but the young guy there decided to just randomly charge my card i keep on file without authorization or signature $235 !!!! When i explained I had the 1st month free he froze up and the young lady there did a refund/reimbursement but that can take up to 3 days ! I was so frustrated with the lack of consideration those funds werent meant to be taken out which puts me in an overdraft situation and tight space for this week. I love Uhaul but this mistake was huge

I was assigned the upper level. The elevator was not working at all u-Associates asked me to use the stairs instead of the elevator to move my belongings to the second floor which was impossible and tedious. This u-Haul location is by far the worst in the US I wouldn't recommend anyone to do business with them. The workers are very disrespectful and very racists .

The only minor problem was finding out I only had access to my unit during store hours and not from 5am - 10pm. However, it is not the biggest inconvenience and the staff was great at explaining everything when I moved in.

It was not communicated with me at the time that I began my rental that there were issues with the alarm system and that I would not be able to access my unit after hours. The manager was helpful getting in, but we only got ahold of him after about 20 minutes of calling. If this information would've been provided at check in, I would've been aware that I could not access the unit after 7 and would not have driven 2 hours to access my items. After this issue, I immediately removed everything and checked out to not deal with the hassle.

The staff did help to get the storage. Access card didn't work and the unit was the dirtiest one I have ever seen. Also there was mice droppings everywhere in the unit. I borrowed broom and swept the unit myself before I could move in. Notified the staff and they didn't care, there was no response or apologies.

Staff was rude. The kid who works there has no idea what hes doing and no one seems to care. Some of the things that were you placed your walk on or damaged badly. On top of that the kid who worked there does not know how to use the computer whatsoever because we asked him for the closest store unit near the door and he gave us One Furthest away from the door saying that that was the only one available in that building but when we got there there was a literally 3 right next to the door.

You need more people assistring customers.There was a very long line by the time I was finished even though the person helping me was also multi taksing with others at the same time. I was not able to get into the locker I rented since I did not have anything to cut the temporary plastic lock on it. I was not told about this and no one was there. So I need to go back today with a scissor and do this. Please fix your survey and add a third answer. I cannot say whether or not the locker was clean since I have not been able to see it as explained above. Forcing me to answer these questions with a yea or no is making me provide a negative answer when it might not be correct so I can finish this survey.

Always clean and always secure. I rented from here for many years and aside from the yearly nominal rent increase (went up about $5 per month each year), I thoroughly enjoyed this location. It was VERY clean, always, with easy access, parking, and available carts for toting belongings from the unit to the loading dock. We moved, and that's the only reason I closed out my rental here.

I was given a storage room that was already occupied! So when my movers went to move my items in the storage unit, they couldn't. The office was closed and their manager's 24 hour emergency number kept going to voicemail. Horrible experience ever! Now I have a uhaul truck full of my items sitting outside of my apartment building. Be sure to check your unit BEFORE you decide to move in after hours!

My only concern is that I went to the facility after reserving a non-air conditioned unit. When she asked me what did I want I said a non-air conditioned unit. The lady behind the counter then proceeded to give me what I now realize is an air conditioning unit. The items that I'm storing do not require air conditioning. She has therefore double the price of what I have to pay monthly which increases the chance that I might not be able to pay. I was trying to get a unit that I'm sure that I could afford every month. Why she decided to give me whatever unit she wanted confuses me. The reason I went to that facility is because I went to my U-Haul account first and checked locations where I can find a non-air conditioning unit on the first floor. I don't want to ride elevators so I wanted the first floor and I don't need air conditioning. The ad also said something about a month free which she first confirmed then later told me oh my manager says that only applies if you had a one-way U-Haul rental.

The system was down on Sunday when I went to return the van. Had to leave the van overnight and came by the next morning at 9AM and had to wait for an hour because there was only one person helping the couple in front of me who was having some problems with the storage unit who eventually left to go to another storage facility. So I could finally unload the van into the storage unit and I missed a job that I had to be at on Monday morning because of this. I would like to get the 2nd month free because of the inconvenience.

The U Haul staff was always friendly and helpful. Sometimes the lines were long but I believe they were trying to provide the best service to the customers. The storage facility was clean and spotless and carts were readily available. The area where people would leave their no-longer wanted items was promptly cleared out whether by U Haul staff or folks' new treasure. This U Haul facility is a pleasant place to store your items. Just be sure to swipe your card before opening your storage space to prevent the alarm from going off.

I requested a refund of a late fee in July. The location manager apparently issued a VIP certificate that I never learned about. I followed up with him 3 or 4 times without a response. He still hasn't responded to me. I had to email service@uhaul.com to get it credited to my account. Lastly, I was told by an employee staffing the office front desk that we had to access our storage units during office hours even though the posted access hours are outside office hours! Had they posted that information somewhere, that would have saved me a late night trip to the facility when I couldn't access my unit!

While I'm happy with the service , I'm very disappointed that on my move in a employee car was blocking my unit , I went inside and wait 20 minutes to let someone know about it , later that day in the afternoon I came back and again a different car was there , and today Sunday 06/28 at 11:30 am I came back again and it's blocked , I can't be going to ask someone to move their car all the time I visit my unit , and I see plenty of parking space available , why ? Next time I won't notify and if I damage a car I won't take responsibility , please respect that no everyone has the time to wait until move their cars . Very bad if this is continue I will have to find another place to store my stuff .

We had used UHAUL to store some items from our home temporarily while we had our house on the market. The 1st storage unit we had was at the back of the building and had a water leak. Thankfully, I had stuff in rubber tubs and nothing was damaged. However, UHAUL did not seem to care. I asked for a different unit and there were none available, so I suggested a larger unit for the same rate. The check in process and dealing with people working there is extremely SLOW. If you plan to go into the office, be prepared to wait or be in there for at least 30 minutes until you speak to someone. I would not use this facility again or recommend that anyone else does.

Staff is great however I rented a storage unit for about 3 weeks and when I went to return the unit I thought I would get partial $ back.
