I love the idea of self service, and would love to use it at the location I've been using, however, something fails each time forcing me to go inside the location to have an agent hand me the keys. And constantly having to verify my identity is laborious. I get why it's required, but wish your team could come up with a more seamless experience.

ROBERT LIQUORII've been a customer for more than 17 since 2005 renting U-Haul at College Point, Queens; moving to Scarsdale and renting at U-Haul Yonkers, NY. I never have any problem at U-Haul College Point, Queens. But U-Haul Saw Mill River Branch has issues two times. Both were customer service representatives "Nasty Attitudes." This is the only reason you lose customer. I hated going back there even when I have automatic payments all these years. Remember that credit cards expire too. Since I do not ever wanted to interact with the "nasty and rude guy" talking to me over the phone, I decided to finally discontinue my storage. I hope you get educated people next time.

Eugene SzpyndaWas disappointed when I arrived for drop off at 6:43PM when I was informed I needed to use online drop off. The signal was not strong in the area so it ended up taking me 20 minutes to return the truck. It seems the workers (although pleasant) were more focused on closing at 7pm.

Mary Lane | Premières impressionsMove in is of course nice as I'm a paying customer but the reason I'm moving out is because the staff has attitude and this is not the first time I had encounter a nasty attitude but twice already on the very few times I went to our storage while renting since 2006 from Queens then later transferring to Yonkers area. This is the main reason I'm moving out. Nasty staff attitude!!!

That truck overheated and forced me to sit on the side of the highway until it cooled, find a service station and add coolant. That helped, but still had to drive with the heater on (80 degrees outside) to keep the engine cool enough. Finally, after loading the truck and getting to my destination, it was too late to unload so I kept it overnight. The next day it rained. The box leaked dirty water all over my load of vintage designer furniture, causing damage that I am now going to have to repair. Since U-Haul doesn't maintain their fleet, I would suggest that future potential customers rent from somewhere else.

Elvin CastilloEverything at the Yonkers location was excellent. On a side note there was an issue at the Nanuet location regarding my appointment pertaining to trailer installation. The parts didn't arrive on time even though I had an email confirmation for the parts I paid for. The young lady behind the counter was very rude. The mechanic did assists me (props to him) and I had to drive to Newburgh in order to have the work completed. The staff in Newburgh was very nice. Once again Yonkers was excellent. The day of closing was an inconvenient the gate was not working and U-Haul van were blocking entrance and exits. I had to maneuver around the trucks to unload. Access hours were limited, office is closed I cannot get to my unit, unless someone else is coming out.

It was the same width but not the same height. Because of that less things fit in this one then the one we previously have.

John Toscano | Expérience généraleAll staff have been unfailingly nice. Costs, options, and everything else were thoroughly explained to me. The storage units are very clean. Entry to the storage area is slightly funky. I like being able to pull my car into the garage area - a big plus. But then the elevator is raised up above the parking area, and you have to overcome ?15 or 20 inches to get your stuff to elevator level. Not a problem for boxes or small items, but big pieces of furniture might present a challenge. A ramp would be great. This is a well-managed facility. Prices are the only reasonable ones in the area - a great deal for such clean and well-monitored storage units. Also, U-Haul boxes are heavy duty AND the company makes it easy to recycle them, giving other customers a chance to re-use boxes. Save money, help the planet. Good company ethic.

Over the past year I've tried to get a smaller storage space on the lower level but no luck. This past flooding from the storm ruined some memorable items. I am currently trying to seek reimbursement from the insurance I've being paying UHaul since I become a tenant. Now that I have vacated I hope to receive what I deserve.

The concrete path to my unit includes a discrepancy in height between one section and another of about 2 inches which produces quite a jolt when moving the cart over it, This could be easily smoothed. 2. Some carts have wobbly wheels which produces a lot of up and down motion with the cart. Both of these things are worrisome when fragile/breakable items are being transported even when they are well packed, especially the jolt in issue #1.

I told the rep my needs from the onset and she told me the unit should suffice, that people put couches in there no problem. When I went to move my things in to unit, which was up movable stairs, it didn't fit. So I then had no choice but to purchase a larger unit for $145, instead of getting a unit for free. Nothing that the staff did, it is the policy that is the problem. I shouldn't have been limited to just a unit on the upper level, and there should have been something done to accommodate the wrong recommendation of the rep which inconvenienced me and made my experience with U-Haul worse. The fact that I went from paying $0 to $145 left a bad taste in my mouth

I was often able to enter the building without scanning my card due to one of the doors being open - the rolling lift door was often open, and the man-door next to it does not close unless it is forcefully closed. I've learned that I can't rely on my fellow customers to actually close the door, so the card check-in "disarm" is a joke. It vaguely gives the illusion of security without actually adding anything secure. The floor is cracked and uneven, and it seems that no part of the entire property (indoors or out) is level. Carts roll away, and moving the rolling staircases over the floor is a struggle - even when the lowest step is lifted, the feet get caught on the uneven floors. The rolling staircases are all faulty - they lean when you're at the top of them, half of them are too short to reach an appropriate level to move things in and out of the upper lockers, none of he safety chains are appropriately installed or useful, and every single one of them is able to roll when the step lock is engaged. The hours are inconvenient - I'm really only able to access it on my days off, and on weekends hours are even more restricted. Of course, if I want to pay more I can have more access. Uhaul loves their nickels and dimes. The main reason I moved to another facility was because Uhaul did not have the appropriate size locker available that I needed, but I will not miss fearing for my life at the top of a rocking staircase that rolls out from underneath me.

I had asked for a first floor unit, climate controlled area so I can easily and comfortably move my furniture in and out as needed. I was offered the 69,95 monthly promo for a 5x10x8, with free 1st month along with a uhaul cargo van rental. So I get there yesterday morning and find out that the first floor unit is only accessible with a rolling ladder and the area is onlt heated. I was not told this the day before so I didn't search for other options. It was impossible to get any of the furniture up the rolling ladder into the unit and on an extremely hot day a climate controlled area would make the job easier. And my only other option for what I wanted was a bottom unit at 144.95. This was a lie and of course a classic bait and switch. So I cancelled my contract and went right next door to Public Storage and got a real 5x10x8 in a climate controlled area and just wheeled my furniture in, in less than a half hour. 57,95 a month, just no 1st month free. I would never consider uhaul storage again. Thanks for wasting 2 hours of my time on a real hot day.
