Let customers know they will receive a text to verify specific info regarding their equipment, before they leave. The associate who helped me was very nice and super efficient, but she said I could go to the vehicle I rented at the pick up station and when I got there, it was running and no one was there so I did a walk around to check for any existing damages (there were none) and got in and left. I didn't see the text asking me to verify the license plate, etc, because I had my phone on silent when I was at the counter inside. It wasn't a big deal, but it may be for someone else whose equipment doesn't match the info in the text. That said, this was an excellent customer service experience. Shannon was my associate who did a great job getting me matched with what I needed that day and the young man, whose name I don't know and who did the final mileage check, could not have been more professional, kind, and efficient. I will return to this location.

They were almost going to make us drive to a different location which was 17 miles away to pick up truck. Considering I booked it at the one 1 mile away. Luckily they had the truck brought over to our location. But our drop off point was 17 miles away so this put us over on miles. We were charged extra even though gas level was more when we brought back. There is a uhaul dealer to Mike's from us on 128 main St Standish mi. 48658

This location was the best I've ever rented from ! Staff went above and beyond. The store was clean, everyone was welcoming and seemed eager to be at work and help customers. I arrived during a time where there was a rush. Even with the facility flooded with customers staffed remained calm, polite & assisting customers as quickly and accurately from what I experienced. I've never seen any company get a line down as quick as the staff did they work very well together , such a great team. Staff worked with me alot during my visit ! Moving is so stressful and at this location every associate I dealt with made my process smooth, & everything handled with ease and professionalism. Thank you all for AMAZING customer service ! Keep up the amazing work

I did an online check-in to "reduce my time in line" but do not believe it had any actual impact on processing my reservation on site. The facility was busy that day and the staff did a great job overall to keep customers moving.

Please check tire pressure and alignment prior to renting out van to customers. GMC Savannah was pulling hard to the right and I had to fill the load range E tire to 55psi every day. As for the minor dirt in the van, meh. It's a moving van so it's going to be a little dirty. No problem for me. I really like the location, everyone is nice and down to earth. No bologna

I need to know what your policy is on having pets in your vehicles. This is the second time that I have rented and pet hair has been all over the seats and I am allergic to the dander and pet hair so I've been itching and swollen because it was animal hair all over the seats and over the floor. The vehicle inside had not been cleaned well empty bottles was in the vehicle also I had a spare tire on the right front side and it sling to keep spinning every time that I took off to drive and then when it was raining kept having a slippery effect to it and I was not pressing on the accelerator extra hard or anything. The first one I went rented the van at the beginning of January that van also had pet animal hair all over it. The truck that I rented this time had dog paws on the seat dirty dog paws at that muddy paws. I honest itching really bad today sinuses went crazy because of the allergic reaction so I would like to speak to someone to find out what the policy is on having animals in the vehicle and why they're not being properly cleaned and if you should notify your customers that there have been animals in the car

Try to be enthusiastic about the job. It shows in front of customers when you dont want to work or want to be there without you saying anything. Make sure customers have a good experience coming in. Be polie, smile and be friendly. When i dropped of the truck, there were 2 girls. One seemed to be going through training. When they were both done with the inspection they just left. Didnt say to me that they would return or anything. No communication, they just had me standing there outside awaiting a return. Not good customer service.

This is my first time using the storage. Also, the staff didn't tell us that how to get out of the storage. I was overcharged when the truck was in there but we thought we couldn't get out because we didn't know the details of how to get out so I think you should show people the way to get in and get out not knowing it until yesterday when I checked out.

Vehicle had warning lights on,no windshield washer fluid the inside of the windshield so filthy and could hardly see through it. It smelled like armpits! The woman who helped me was great though, very nice professional courteous and efficient

I came in on 12/20/23 @5, and there was an issue with my account so I had to call customer service. While waiting a long while on hold, the crew on that day and time kept me entertained. I appreciate that because I was frustrated with the long hold time. I've never had any issues getting a truck from here. Overall I would recommend their business.

The truck needs mechanical work. It was an unpleasant ride from Michigan to Tennessee. First of all, the steering wheel was off center so the speedometer was hard to see. It also pulled real bad to the right. And lastly, there was a bad tire vibration from about 50-70 mph. It about rattled me to death

The sizes were weird, I worked in management for the storage industry for three years and never seen storages with less then a ten for ceiling height for the same costs or more than other facilities. We stayed at this facility because of time restraints not for the prices. And even though we rented a truck from one city to another we were not given a free months rental. For these reasons and the fact that the new way for checking trucks in and out sucks, there is no where to put in notes for what you see on the truck. That system should definitely be changed to be made more customer friendly

I’m really happy with my decision to get a Storage unit.

Move in was easy back in July but since then I've had issues every month paying my bill. Last month I was put on auto pay when I didn't authorize it and could not remove online and this month I couldn't pay my bill at all because it kept saying I had nothing there in my name although I used to see it under my account and I associated the storage with my account multiple times. Customer service is great but the website is janky for a company that probably profits greatly. Get an upgrade

The only thing that I have to say is, I was told many times that in order to change my payment date I would have to come into the Uhaul store, and I could do it that way! So when I went into Uhaul Storage and spoke with an agent she called her supervisor. Apparently, the supervisor replied to the agent that I could do it but I would have to pay up several months first in advance. I never heard of such during all of the time, that I had talked with an agent while I was making my monthly payment. Fixed incomes can't afford to pay up several months in advance just to have the due date changed. I understand going up on the storage fee. But, having to pay up several months in advance is a bit too much. ✌I tried to resolve the issue before leaving. Oh, and I had to purchase another lock and key. But, in order to have it put on, I have to call their locksmith to have a lock of theirs cut off. And charge me $40.00. I don't feel that is right. Not at all. Ijs! For a long time, the customer. It's just time for me to get my belongings asap.

The reservation of the unit went smooth. However, the key card stopped working to let me check in and move my items in. Gratefully, the store was still open, and 30 minutes before closing, they were able to fix my card. However, once I finally entered the facility, there was a customer lock on the unit which I had not put on there. There was no one available until Monday to cut the lock off, so 10 minutes before store closing, I had to be re-assigned to another unit. I am appreciate of the employee, MacKenzie (sp?), that spoke with manager and helped me get a bigger unit and a month free for the issues.

the storage units smell like urine, cigarettes and fish it looks as though storages are never cleaned and never been cleaned before renting to the next customer. The storages are also not closed off which puts customers belongings at high risk for been contaminated by other customers items in storage example if someone has bedbugs and they spread my items aren't protected because there's a opening at the top. The price of a 4x6x8 is 70 bucks which is outrageous compared to the amount of storage you are getting, management is horrible and not easy to speak to I asked to speak to a manager and they refused to come out only kept sending the employee back and forth communication was awful and each person I spoke to gave my information that was correct they overcharged me and the manager still refused to speak with me. I had to call corporate to get things fixed properly which corporate was able to do but this store location is horrible the storage units are unsanitary and the staff needs to all get on boards with knowing the policy and prices because they amount of misinformation that was being giving out is ridiculous. If wasn't for the employee that checked me out I wouldn't have even gave a star my overall experience has been horrible 0/10 I would never recommend you guys to anyone

This whole experience from the beginning was a significant disappointment then having a u haul truck that shook the whole drive for 11 hours was extremely hard to Handle on the highway, it should have never been rented out of state ,then check in was crazy I had experienced another customer yelling and cursing at staff and management inside the office and the whole parking lot at inkster location needs alot of work took way too long to check in staff seemed not trained in computer check in or renting storage rentals it was alot of other staff asking each other how to do this and how to do that took almost 2 hours to do check in ,I would have never expected this in the past with u haul I would love to speak to someone from the main office about my experience

First, I did not intend to use this facility. I was promised/reserved one in Ann Arbor, with a month free that came along with my rental of a trailer for a move from Virginia. When we arrived in Ann Arbor, of course, there was nothing available, not even a mobile box. They sent us to Inkster, who honored the first month free but didn't have the smaller size (less expensive unit) we were promised so we were pushed into a larger more expensive unit. Bait and switch comes to mind, and as much business as I've given your company I find it highly disappointing. I asked, at least, if I could get the the unit at the same price promised for the Ann Arbor unit. The manager said she had no control over the pricing and couldn't help me. So, here I am needing to return the trailer and no where (after the second site) to store my belongings (and I'd just driven several hundred miles.) Did I feel taken advantage of. Yes I did. And I will tell anyone who asks. It's clear your company recognizes that moving is no fun; it's also clear you practice predatory pricing and business tactics that take advantage of stressed out customers. You could change that with a simple policy: Ensure your site managers have the ability to make adjustments to help customers when your company fails to deliver what is promised -- particularly when they're sent to another city when you fail to have the reservation available.

The only experience I had that seemed off was with the way the contract was started. The employee recorded was the date I moved with the rented truck. I rented the storage about a week earlier So when I called to see what day my bill was due I was told the wrong date Then they charged me late fee of $25. I disputed it of course and was able to get a refund. The 2nd time I paid the bill on the due date and again was charged the late fee.I called again and was told the payment needed to be there on the due date as this time I received no credit. Then later I learned the correct one. I had a 5 day window to pay before being charged a late fee U-Haul needs to train their employees better so everybody can be on the same page. After I vacated the storage with a truck tental; I was called to tell them what date I closed the rental because it wasn't recorded properly. That is poorly conducted business to relay to customers.

One time while checking in, one of the desk people were rude when I asked how to check in correctly. I had only been one other time and didn't have to use my card because they checked me in. When I checked out, they did not follow through with the online check out and I received a bill with a late charge. I spend 20 minutes on hold to talk to someone to get it taken care of. Did not have to pay, thankfully.

We were pushed to pay for insurance were told they get leeks you should insure it. I was right with time or else I would of gone else where for storage we were also told since you rented 4 days you get the biggest room instead we got the smallest because the big room was on second floor no elevators I would die to move my heavy items on the stairs. Last time using u haul storage or unless I get some kind of credit for the trouble we were givin also was told drop off the truck there it's ok then when done we were told no you can not we had to drive another 20 mnt to another location for drop off. Frustrated and tired ....

Very unhappy customer I have been pay for my storage unit for last 4 yrs I am single mom with two boys we are broken spirits cuz they sold my unit without hear from me first they knew I am deaf they need to text me or email but I haven’t got receive my letter in mail box when I told my new address ....no body listen and I was only 2 months behind but I always caught up pay 3 months or more no problem until now it’s gone they didn’t bother look at my history and see how long I have been pay for and go for it sold my unit it torn my heart a pieces I had no way to contact when my internet down it requires high speed internet to call relay and no car to drive there but they know better by my long time 4 years history now I am unhappy customer why would I leave a great comment when my spirit is broken and my boys too

I feel the storage units should have a light inside so you can see and I discovered that previously my unit had a rodent problem because it was a device in there for that and I didn't like that. Also, I really didn't like the caucasian lady that work in the store with multiple hair color ( blue, yellow) she had a attitude. Sometimes you go in there, some employees finish their conversation and then say can I help you? Better customer service training.

Chameika, one of the clerks, was not very helpful in helping me to understand why I was quoted for the wrong size storage unit. She kept saying that it wasn't her responsibility if the U-Haul call center staff made an error. I felt this was unacceptable because I had my movers waiting in the parking lot for her to reassign me a space, and when she did, she initially wanted to charge me for a higher-than-quoted-for rate. Very disappointing experience, especially since my experience renting a storage unit from this place in the past was impeccable. I emailed the manager, Shannon, in order to discuss this issue and am currently waiting to hear back from her.

The lighting was horrible after 5 mins the lights in my unit would turn off and id end up trying to move stuff in the dark, falling and tripping and hurting myself. I will never use uhual ever again.
