The staff was great but the software was in efficient and hard to navigate. Bandwith was poor. Why do anyone have to walk 2 blocks to get the car...someone should deliver the rental to the customer instead of the reverse.

I return the truck as I pick up and yet I get charge cleaning fee on my card for $100 extra

I was given a vehicle that had no gas (literally) so, I was given a replacement. I also reserved and paid for two furniture Dollie's which were not provided. I was provided the second vehicle by a sales rep (Jazmine) who was helpful as opposed to the manager who explained nothing. Aside from Jazmine, I was very disappointed

Everything was fairly quick except for the pick-up. It took the system 10 minutes to process my reservation. It could have been an isolated incident.

The check in process was great. I had no issues when it came to using the van. When we returned the van, we asked the employee if we should do a run through, to which he said "no it's okay". Unfortunately, we left our humidifier in the van and called customer service immediately upon realizing, which was an hour after dropping off the car. We were placed on hold for approximately 50 mins while they were "checking" the van, to which we decided to drive over to speak with someone in person. After checking the van, they said they didn't see the humidifier nor have any recollection of picking one up. They also said they usually clear out the van and dump leftover items at the end of the day. It's just very ironic how the humidifier wasn't seen at all but yet, it is not in the van. My partner and I chucked it up to someone taking it for their own. I would absolutely not recommend this location to anyone.

I was having trouble with check in on the app so I went inside sought help from the agent at the counter. I gave him my reservation number and he asked me to provide ID make a payment that was higher than what was originally quoted from 117 to $137 how樂?! He wasn't a part of the pleasant experience that I have had during my past few time renting at this location. The vehicle was on empty literally ZERO miles to empty read on the dashboard how is that even ethically possible. The interior had coffee spilled all over it was sticky and nasty. The windows were dirty like the vehicle was not inspected properly. I give this experience with UHaul 100 negative's out of 100.

This location was the worst! The service was horrible and the truck was a death trap! It was old and drove so bad. I had a hard time getting in and out of drive and reverse. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with a truck rental and I've been a loyal uhaul customer for years. DO BETTER UHAUL!!

I had the best customer service from Michael Persaud, at this 168th st location. he was super helpful and informative. I had a nightmare experience at pick-up location 7514 Jamaica Ave. "storage max" they gave me a van without any license plates and I when I brought it to the managers attention, he confirmed that it was absolutely OK for me to drive off with this van. When I asked him, what should I do if the police were to stop me and he told me to just show them the receipt and that they "know" U-Haul. I began to inspect the van and take pictures of the van without any license plates. When he saw me doing that he came out and was on the phone with somebody who informed him that it is absolutely not OK for me to take the van without any license plates. I would have taken legal actions against U-Haul if I would've been arrested due to driving a U-Haul van without license plates that was given to me. I have requested a partial refund.

This was by far the worst uhaul experience. Nothing was explained. Poor communication. The lock was broken so we had to leave our things over night in an unlocked uhaul. I ordered things ahead of time and the employee didn't know. We were given damaged boxes. It was just the worst experience ever. I tried to extend my reservation and the app kept kicking me off.

I must commend the manager of this location because he showed above & beyond care & concern about an issue I had totally misunderstood. & when he spoke to me about he was very professional & actually compensated me for the misunderstanding even though it was I who misunderstood the protocol. So, because of that I would truly use & recommend this location to anyone needing a rental or storage.

When a customer is issued vehicle the, atedannt should make sure that the vehicle is in fact the one he he rented. I was given a vehicle and by the time I got home I realized that the paperwork didn't match the vehicle I had. I WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.

I didn't like the view of reversing through the rear view mirror. I felt like I was driving a stick shift. It wasn't a smooth ride. However I enjoyed the one shop stop, meaning I only had to go to one place to pickup a truck,store my stuff and drop off the truck. It made the process easier. Thank you for that process. I would highly recommend this location because the staff was accommodating.

Jazmine was the best. She was everything a representative of U-Haul could ask for. She is great with me and I saw he deal with other customers as family members and. It must paying patrons. I went to check my connection to rent a trailer and Mike called another U-haul and set up the appointment for me to get my wires fixed the same day. Thanks to him I was able to rent the trailer the next day.

The manager Jasmine or Jazmin is amazing. She truly takes time to listen to your needs and provide all options. She went above and beyond with checking on customers and making sure we had everything we needed. Her staff is amazing as well and shows she trains them well. Best U-Haul experience I ever had and her and her staff truly deserve special recognition, the highest award she can receive.

Made a reservation for a storage locker over one month in advance. Showed up to the facility and the staff was unprofessional. Had to wait 1+ hours for the staff to find the reservation and take me to the unit, which was located on the upper level despite having requested a lower level. Unprepared and unprofessional.

the only hiccup I have is trying to leave and to arm my unit. When I checked out the door would not open for me to leave at the loading bay, so I was stuck. Then when I left through the entrance on douglass there wasn't an option to arm or disarm alarm so I was a bit confused about that.

Very misleading information on the website and what happens in person. I reserved a unit online while on a move from FL to NY. I made the reservation for a specific unit size given my things and for a specific price. So after driving the truck for 15 hours and hoping to check in to my unit, I was told that it was unavailable and that I could get something a little bit larger for a different much higher price. Why have the reservation in place online then? Fortunately I told the workers there the situation and after arguing with them and whoever was their manager for an hour, I was able to secure a similar sized unit on the same day for an agreed price. The facility itself seems nice with good hours and equipment available to help with moving things into the locker. In total I had my things locked up for about 8 months and I was surprised to find that it was not at all dusty, seems that the ventilation and filtration is good enough. Move out was simple, and I did it online. However, the status was pending for several days and if my rent was due, I think my card would have been charged. I had to physically call in to make sure the unit was moved out, and the agent who answered was surprised that they didn't see the online request. I wish what was on the U-Haul website coincided with the reality. I would recommend this service for the price, but not for anything else.

Unhelpful staff with the exception of one person. Damaged seat in truck that caused injury to my leg. Had to change truck. Never ever received a follow up as I was told I would, from anyone regarding the incident report that the manager completed. Poorly lacking in customer service. Didn't have out container ready and was told we did not call ahead even when I spoke to the manager days ahead and specifically had his authorization. Had me and those I was with outside for over an hour waiting in the pouring rain in the wrong location. When the right location was told to us, there was no one there to open the door leaving us outside in the downpour for another 20 minutes. Extremely disappointing experience.

Made an online reservation for storage. I made a one way move from Jacksonville to New York. I rented a truck and transport and hired workers to help me load my truck so that I could arrive before office closing on 10/1 to access the storage. After a 17 hour drive, I was told that the unit I had reserved was given to someone else. I did not want to pay more for a larger unit. It took about an hour to get something sorted and only with the help of the store manager. Facility could be cleaner and could use some air conditioning, it felt very stuffy inside. Overall would not use or recommend U-Haul storage to anyone in the future.

Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback. The facility is great, but receiving more support would be ideal. I had to call in a third-party locksmith to gain access to my storage space, to close it out yesterday. Is there no U-haul lock masterkey? Having services/amenities like recommended locksmiths to call would make the customer feel they don't have to be completely self-reliant. I was lucky enough that there was not a lot of people at the site, so I could access support from the front desk, but days that it is busy I am sure it would be much more difficult to be in communication with those working on-site.

it was an ok experience i returned my rental and it was a first time renters didn't know of the check in first then able to access the building .Now it was a great offer but when i went online to get the size storage i needed it only had the options for $90 lockers i didn't need that large . Also question is it policy to if the gas is below the line to bump it up ? In all it took 2 hours extra to move in .

I made a reservation on the phone and went to the facility and had to do it all over again even though I have a reservation number. I reserved a street unit. When I got there the unit given is on the basement. I am pregnant and this is not convenient. They unit was dirty and locked. Check in took forever. Inspite of correcting the check in staff, and giving them my ID, my name is still incorrectly spelt. No one shows you to your unit. It's a maze to locate. When we got there the unit is locked! You have to go back to the staff and then be rushed because they have to leave. When I booked the unit I asked for the facility contact number. The number given is one that takes you to the call center. Overall the service was poor and fell way below expectations based on the brochure and ads.

Only complaint: There were tiny red bugs in the unit which gave us bites that were painful and itchy. The friend who helped us had to seek medical attention for a bite near his left eye. Overall: The staff was courteous and very helpful to an 82 year old woman and her helpers. It cost more than we expected; but on short notice we got storage so the home repairs could go forward, for which we are grateful.

We rented 4 trucks over a 3 week period and moved into 2 storage lockers. Overall, we were happy and are finally moved out of our old home, while we wait 4-6 weeks for our new home to go through renovations. U-Haul was great for our situation where we needed to move from one home to two different locations. Staff at all 3 locations weee super-friendly (Woodhaven Auto, U-Haul of Jamaica and U-Haul of Flushing). Some areas for improvement (I've included for truck rentals too) -the move in process was very time consuming (about 2 hrs), the web sign was problematic. We were in a hurry, but did not get clear information and had to change our locker due to issues finding it and lengthy walk/ride on elevators. -our truck reservations were bumped twice, because drivers didn't return their trucks in time. This added a lot of stress to a stressful period. -we saw the U-box moving containers at the U-Haul of Jamaica Queens. It looks like a newer version, with steel construction - much better than the plywood boxes and orange tarp advertised by UHaul. I wish we knew about these newer boxes, because we would have used them and it would have been a much better product for our situation. Note: we would have gone with PODS, but could not due to size limitations in our driveway.

The first gentleman who helped me was very nice. He recommended I pick up my truck from another location or come back to New York. When I got into New York with my truck it took me 30 minutes to get into the storage unit. The gentleman who was supposed to be on lunch was aggressive and angry and asked me why I didn't register my card. Throughout the night I kept getting locked out of the facility due to my card not being registered. The worker was so busy arguing with another patron that I have to keep constantly asking him for help he didn't guide me to the area where my storage unit was that. He did not tell me that there was another lot where I can drop off my truck. It was just not a good experience this time around with uhaul.

I only have one complaint, I made a late payment and a lock was added to my storage to deny access. That wasn't really the issue. The issue was that the lock was on for a whole week even after the payment was made. I had to go during business hours to get it removed. That should be something the company stay on top of. Sometimes emergencies can happen.

I started renting a storage unit to housed my Grandmother's most prized possessions. Thinking I was keeping them safe, this place turned out to be the worst decision I've ever made. When my unit was flooded it ruined my furniture with water and mildew damage. I was told that there was nothing they could due as I opted out of insurance. I explained that, I didn't know insurance was an option, as no one informed me on any insurance when I started renting the unit. All I was told there's nothing they can do. Which is completely unacceptable. My items can never be replaced. My other items that wasn't affected were moved upstairs to a smaller unit, but I was still being charged the price of the larger unit. When I finally decided enough was enough. I came to remove my things to go elsewhere, only to find the rest of my future was ruined by RAT DROPPINGS! When this was brought to the staff attention, they said that was regular! I am truly disappointed and angry at the amount of unprofessionalism and just complete disregard of my belongings. I paid uhaul to ruin my future. I have no sofa, mattress, recliner chair or dining room chairs. Just nothing, if it wasn't in plastic bins it's GONE! I will never use uhaul or recommend uhaul to anyone!

I will NEVERRRRRRR use uhaul again for storage!!! While the workers that walk around the units and help were all very nice, the people at the front desk (with the exception of the two men that were there the day I officially moved out) were NO help. Uhaul owes me $30 and said they will have a manager contact me… that was 3 YEARS AGO!!!! Still haven't gotten a refund or even a call back. They charge you over $100 to put your stuff in their dumpster, like what is the dumpster for if not to discard things, I paid $92,9 a month for a box and they still make you pay to throw out furniture. Using uhaul was one of the worst experiences I've had with a facility. Will not recommend.

I have had the worst experience of my life for the past six months dealing with the Jamaica location. My family has used Uhaul since I was a kid for storage. But with this last experience I will not be returning and I am very close to writing a public review, since no one will get back to me or call me from customer service. My unit had rats, which fine- no big deal - it happens. I asked to walk away from the unit and leave the damaged goods behind. After months of no one following up with me, Melessa Toussaint reached out and gave me a refund for the months I had to wait and assured me there was nothing more I needed to do. Great! Moved on with Life. Fast forward, for months I receive late notices on the unit. I sent them to Melessa. Radio silence. Finally I contact customer support. She emails me I need to sign a letter of abandonment. After I have my questions answered about the letter by Cynthia, I sign it and send it over. I ask Melessa to confirm she received it. Radio silence again. A month goes by, I receive notice a LEIN is being placed on my CREDIT due to late notices. Over a unit that is CLOSED?! What? I call Melessa. I call customer service. No one can help me. Finally Melessa emails me back on e poorly written sentence that I have to sign the letter. I forwarded her the email, and resent the PDF. She just didn't see I sent it? Then proceeded to ignore me for three more days. Then said she received it and said something about waiting on a dumpster to arrive? This has nothing to do with the fact that my credit has been wrongfully affected by Melessa's Oversight. She literally ignores my emails completely, she has never even acknowledged her multiple errors during this entire experience. And no one has ever cared enough to even reach out to me and hear out my concerns. I was told to reach out to Will Wolof, I have called his office four times. Radio silence there too. I text him as well, nope. Nothing. How hard is it for anyone at Uhaul to give me a call? Ever? I am not crazy, or irrational. I just wanted basic decency and assistance which I never got. I got a call that the unit has been closed. Great. This doesn't change the fact that no one has ever reached out to me, my credit has been damaged on a unit I never ever failed to make a payment on. I am so angry, and disappointed. I have been a loyal customer for years and years, and now I really don't think I can ever trust this company again.

The staff always have an attitude. The phone is hardly ever answered, my storage unit was so hot that my clothes were sticking to me. I had to keep walking down the hall because the light sensors would go off like every 5 to 10 minutes and it would be completely dark. My unit was not handicap accessible. So I had a hard time carrying beds and dressers up the stairs alone. The loading area is way too small. Cars and trucks were blocking each other. I've seen several large roaches to the point that I had to pay a service to throw all my belongings out for fear I would bring roaches to my new house. The bathroom was gross both in the storage facility and the main rental office. After all of that I wanted to rent a smaller 5x5 for some sealed plastic bins, but the way the staff treated me on my last visit made me just say forget it and I will NEVER use this company again nor will I recommend this company to friends or family.

I was not able to move into the storage unit! The access code to the entry doors did not work and once I got help from security the storage unit had a lock on it! I cleaned my storage at the beginning of December and called the same day to your 1800 number to let you know storage is empty for no more charges and you can track that call ... after that they charged me twice even with a late fee... Didn't understand why if I had automated payment. They call me early January to confirm storage was closed I say yes and ask to please verify my late fee and extra charge to be refunded ... She said someone would call me back and nobody did... I call to your customer service trying to solve that and same thing happened never called me back... they called me yesterday from storage location 1/21 and the representative was rude and even hang up the phone on me cause I was asking about the extra charges you made to my account... SO NO I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND UHUAL TO NO ONE

The only reason why I couldn't say "Excellent" on my overall rating of the U-Haul Storage facility at this particular location is that there is just one problem that I had with the place. The problem is that they have these extremely loud, ear-piercing alarms that keep going off intermittently at that place.. The sound of those alarms are so shrill and so terrible that prolonged exposure to them would most certainly damage a person's ear-drums. The elevators are of a type that I've never seen before; they're like something from a previous age of man's existence on this planet, and the elevators themselves are wired to set off a horrible super-shrill, ear-drum piercing alarm that goes off for a few seconds while the doors are closing. So this is my only complaint about the place. I would recommend that they install modern elevators, and then relegate all those annoying and quite frankly, extremely unhealthy alarms to the after 10:00 PM over-night hours. I say those alarms are unhealthy because of the potential damage they can cause to a person's nerves and ear-drums, and maybe even the brains too, to a certain extent, when a person has to be there working and packing for 3 hours or more. So I think they should set the alarms to go off after 10:00 PM at night, which would be the "after hours" time period, so that people who come in there to do work in their units in the daytime can have peace & quiet, and be able to return home with the healthy nerves, brains, and ear-drums that they came in with. So apart from this one thing concerning the terrible noise of those alarms, everything else about this Storage Facility is WONDERFUL!

Charles Hampton is useless, he does not listen, I ordered boxed online and he could not find where they were. I had to request a refund. Melissa Toussaint DOES NOT know how to talk to customers she needs training. I met Darnell Gore twice he help me out and made suggestions as to what I should do even though I had to rent on two separate days and paid a little more he was EXTREMELY helpful polite and even smile, nice guy, right business attitude, he is who your company needs. I did not see the facility as I had a U-Box shipped from CA to NY and it was delivered to our address. However all was as promised. It was delivered the day it was promised in great condition.

Uhaul is a RIP off they have to straighten out who ever takes care of the bill if u dont watch ur bill they will over charge u but other than that everything else is good.

Great except you have too much business not enough staff to service it. After removing ALL of stored items 09/29, raking empty photos & stood in line on 9/29 & 9/30 to ckout. I couldn't do so.

My movers had to wait over 2 hours just for the u-boxes to be loaded to a trailer. I tried calling several times and no one would pick up the phone. Ridiculous.

The only thing I didn't think was safe was the staircase, every floor is locked from the inside so you get stuck in the staircase and it can be very scary. Other than that one issue I was a satisfied
