Boxes overpriced. Much higher than company store.
James ReddochI rented the 5x8 cargo trailer. It was old, rusty & unclean inside... and I discovered when I loaded later that the right side tie-down rings had been jammed into the floor, and I was able to use them only with the help of someone nearby. Worse, the latching mechanism was rusted and didn't align well, though better than the old 6x12 cargo trailer I rented from this location last time, which was even worse - when I injured my hand forcing it to open/close. I was told that the 5x8 cargo trailer I rented for 2 days was the only one available for "local", so I was stuck with yet another old, rusty trailer. Additionally, the clerk who rented to me tried to overcharge me, but I showed him the reservation and he made the correction. He also failed to adequately secure the ball hitch, as I found when I pulled over shortly after leaving the yard, thinking the hitch was making more noise than usual...I tightened it about 6-8 more turns! The return process was fine. My biggest complaint, though, is with UHaul's overt or tacit policy to have "local" rental trailers be limited in number at local dealers and worse, in very poor condition. One would think that "local rentals" would have priority for quality units to encourage folks to use them in their own community.

KELLY MALONEYThe check in process is painful. I ran out of picture options after trying to note everything I couldn't see on the photos provided. It did feel like I was doing staff work, noting all the dents and dings. I also do not like that you require a cell phone to activate the check in process. I understand that companies find it convenient, but I don't want texts from any company. Surely you've been around long enough that there are other alternatives - like email or having a customer service representative walk the customer through the inspection process. The staff was nice.

Dorothy CoakleyWhen I arrived to pick up the trailer rental, I had to wait for about 15mins while the crew continued to clean vehicles that had been returned. They were working right outside the showroom and had seen me come in and waiting at the counter. I finally went outside, told them that I was here to pick up a rental, and asked if there was someone that could help me at the counter. The person that eventually came in to help me did not stop cleaning but said that they would be in shortly. There was no other customer inside the showroom or outside by the vehicles being cleaned. I believe that a customer with a pre-arranged rental should be the priority, not clean up duties of any kind. I understand that the office can be busy with customers and I regularly have to wait my turn in line- not a problem. However, being ignored at the counter for an extended period of time and having my request for service brushed off rather rudely is not acceptable.

jamie BreenMake it verbally clear to customers BEFORE driving their vehicle off the lot, that the customer (NOT u-Haul) is responsible for the condition of the vehicle's exterior. It should be made VERBALLY CLEAR that u-Haul is not responsible for having recorded all scratches and dents, but that it is the customer's responsibility to TAKE PHOTOS of whole vehicle before driving it off the lot. Otherwise, if the attendant who "closely inspects" the vehicle upon its return discovers a small thumb-sized dent on the bottom of the driver's door (as happened to me) that was not previously recorded, even if the customer is sure it did not occur during their use of the vehicle, and even if said customer has purchased extra insurance (as I did) they will be charged $150. deductible because WITHOUT PHOTOS TO PROVE INNOCENCE A CUSTOMER IS ASSUMED GUILTY. Yes, "Guilty until proven innocent" is the u-Haul motto. Consider me one very unhappy customer who is unafraid of spreading the word to others of my disappointing experience with u-Haul.

Jacquelin DelanoThe dolly in the truck was rusted out and had broken welds making it difficult to use. And the app was impossible. It would freeze up when trying to upload the picture of the mileage at pick-up and it happened again at return. Because it wouldn't let the photo upload there was no way to continue and it booted me out several times. When trying to return using the QR code it had me change my password multiple times which was brutal in the cold, and then wouldn't accept the new password. Outside of that your staff was great and I really appreciated all their help! I have used this location before and (hopefully not too soon, lol) use them in the future. Merci!

STAN BOURNEMake trucks available for morning pickup. I found that I couldn't reserve a pickup truck for hauling until 4:30 the following day. Which is very inconvenient. Instead I only rented the car trailer and used an alternate vehicle for towing.
Jason GoldsmithI didn't order a hand truck but one was bolted near the back of the rental. It was in the way when I loaded the truck and had to unclip it to get my items to load into the truck. I explained this to the manager, and she aggressively stated that it was our responsibility to have it removed from the truck before renting it. (I never ordered it) She charged us $9 to reclip it to the wall. It seems silly to lose a good customer over a stupid policy. What ever happened to customer service?

Some staff member had placed a lock on my unit. Noah in the office was a nightmare to deal with. He checked the computer & verified that I wasn't late wi payment, which is usually why u-haul staff place lock on customer locker. I had 2 helpers that I was paying by the hour. Noah was uncommunicative & beyond ridiculous to deal with. After standing around waiting to get into my unit for about an hour, Noah finally shows up to unlock my unit & informs me that he wouldn't unlock the unit without his manager's approval bc it would cost him his job. WTF ?? Who locked my door in the first place?? Why did they lock it?? Why did it take Noah an hour to act, even though he could clearly see that I was paid up?? I told him that I was paying helpers by the hour but nothing would budge this employee into action. So highly disappointed in the final day in my final interaction with U-Haul Keene. I never did receive any explanation or apology for my unit being locked & the inconvenience that was unnecessarily created

It did show #1110 moved out as well as # 1416 as moved out, I never used #1416!! So there is an issue with your system…You have had several price increases during my 2 years of business and I only received 1 email advising of price increases…The reason for this last move is I found a unit with same specs. for $110 per month in a climate controlled building, saving me $60 per month…

A very special item was taken from our locker and can never be replaced and they lied to us about somebody going into our locker the locksmith gave us a statement so the new takeover people made a deal with me return my money for the time that I was there but how do you return a piece of paper that is priceless and you can never find another one We had a letter in a bottle that they broke and the letter was taken out of it I'm not very happy about it I want to talk to somebody about it I have saved all the evidence with the lock being drilled in the locker being broken into

We had to do the whole process as if it was a new unit & then they signed us up for the wrong unit so had to do the process all over again. Then the key card we were given didn't work. Everyone was pleasant & helpful but definitely need more training & a better system to check in. I even reserved the unit online to help speed things along!
