Overall I had a great rental experience. When trying to input my destination, the employee was not able to find the u haul location nearest to my home, so instead just noted 'Austin' and said I could call 800-326-4020 when I got back, to sort out a return location. The woman who answered the phone at that number today was about as helpful as a load of manure, and said I could not change the return destination to a different nearby city, or I would have to pay a destination change fee of approx $200. So I instead called the main phone number, where the secretary there was extremely helpful, and transferred me to the scheduler, who did change the return destination for me, free of charge. Solution oriented people are awesome. Illogical, petty tyrant donkeys are not.

ROBERT HPaying $244,46 for a storage unit I used for 9 days was outrageous. Almost getting charged for a full 3 days for a uhaul was crazy when I extended my rental for only 2. The guy working the front worked out that price for and it was cool. I'll never rent out a storage again. That's money wasted for me.

My only complaint is the functionality of the U-Haul app. It is not user-friendly. It did not save me any time it took me longer to reserve the moving truck that I needed then it would if I was in person, not a fan of the app from a rating of 1 to 10 on the app. I rate it a zero.
Szabi SMake sure the mileage reading and gas tank readings are accurate. In defense of the representative, this is an older truck with 150 000 plus miles on it and the odometer was difficult to read and the gas guage reading was inconsistent. I drove the truck less than 10 miles and put in 5 gallons of gas just to get it to where it showed what it read on the paperwork before I left.

Alice RLate night activity in the parking lot by some of the outside storage units was quite sketchy at times. A lot of cars would show up and leave their engines running with headlights off while other cars would stay by the entrances the same way as look-out. We felt very uncomfortable.

Pulled up and parked where the signs told me to, under the canopy so it can be cleaned and looked over. The young man that helped me with the trailer was leaning up against a post at the canopy on his phone told me that I would have to find someone to check me in because he was on break.The workforce has become lazy. If I told a customer that at my job Id fired. PLEASE WASH THE OUTSIDE OF THE TRUCKS.

larhonda mExplain the check out procedure, and check-in procedure for mobile when checking out a truck. They did not go over the rental contract before we left, so I was in shock about the truck only having a quarter tank of gas until I read over the contract. For check-in, I got the text for check-in, but did not read it as I was driving and didn't know I needed to check in on mobile before I locked up the truck and put the keys in the after hours dropbox. Luckily the drop-off location was awesome and check me in the next morning.
James HU-Haul trailer personnel are generally very helpful - this rental was no different. Encountered great personnel service picking up trailer at Muskogee OK and dropping off at Lewisville TX. Thanks to everyone for your help - especially in getting me in and out quickly at Muskogee as I was running out of time.

JOHN RThe auto transport unit I rented had one of the front ratchets and webbing not working. Had to try to adust 2-3 times while traveling to adjust and get the webbing back on the right front tire. Thankfully, the other ratchet and webbing held firm.

He didn't even take the time to check that my connector was in proper working order. However, he did have time to put blame on my vehicle in regard to being at fault. I ended up wasting 1 1/2hrs., and $25 on things that I did not need to replace like a connection adaptor and bulbs. I had to drive the entire time using my hazards in the middle of the night. IT WAS A CRAP NIGHTMARE! It was found to be faulty wiring at the time of returning the equipment. Before leaving the drop off location, with permission and witness of a different U-Haul worker, I connected a different car dolly to my vehicle and found everything to be working great. I would strongly recommend sending my CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE in for re-training, to say the least. Disgusted!

RACHEL A | Premières impressionsI rented a truck and a car hauler. The truck was great but the car hauler had a low tire -- only 20 lbs PSI. My uncle noticed it immediately and filled the tire. Another tire was down 10 lbs. If my uncle hadn't noticed that tire I could have had a blow out. I was traveling back to Idaho- over 1300 miles!! I feel that the guy who rented that car hauler was overly negligent and there could have been very serious consequences -- like my life! That's not ok. My uncle was very upset because he knows what happens when there's a low tire like that. And, honestly, it scared me to think that your employee, who knew that I would be traveling that far on my own, would be so careless. Don't you have a certain list of things that need to be checked before you rent something out? Luckily my uncle took care of the problem, but that is not ok to be so careless. Shame on you for not training him better. Shame on him for being so careless with my life. How do you know he won't do the same to someone else who might not catch it and have a serious accident as a result. Sounds like a pretty hefty lawsuit in the making, if you're not careful.

It took multiple attempts to get efficient directions on how to properly access the unit, multiple attempts to keep the unit paid for correctly, multiple attempts to properly exit the unit. A call to the division head just manage a storage unit. It was a truly taxing experience.

Makes it inconvenient when I have 2 littles and I'm trying to run in and out of my unit but have to take them ALL THE WAY TO THE FRONT to have them help and sometimes the office isn't open because it's after hours! Also we were infested with bugs multiple times! Manager did help when he was made aware! Just aggravating!

Debbie a | Expérience généraleThere was no lighting inside the storage unit itself, it was an outdoor unit. The unit had a raised edge 9 to 12 inches (sloped) that was above ground level, this was a major obstacle, I had to make a ramp to load/unload my rollable items into and out of the unit. The locking mechanism was a latch from a U-Haul truck as it used to be a truck box. The mechanism bound up due to clearance issues, and the lock I bought could not be used. The staff was well aware of this issue throughout the many similar units onsite. However taking a grinder to the mechanism to provide clearance for operation, and to facilitate the use of the supposedly required lock that must be used was never a consideration. In short your locking mechanisms and required use of your locks needs to be addressed. I cannot use your lock and would rather rent elsewhere to alleviate this problem, and the ussue of not having a 9 to 12 inch ledge between the ground and deck of the unit at the entrance. Otherwise the unit met my needs. Staff allowed me to use my own lock because I could not get their lock to fit the door locking mechanism...

I've been trying to get ahold of someone from corporate and can't seem to get anyone ! The manager just gave me the 800 number! He's been giving me the runaround for 3 weeks about the video footage! I am just going to let the police department and my insurance company figure it out! We were told this was very safe and secure! Whoever got in our unit was in there for a long time!

Mover out mostly because of never getting ahold of store and told too many stories managers would make deal but corporate made me feel like trash. I work in hospital and have been treating Covid patients since this hit lived in camper to protect others at first that is why used storage unit if the way Uhal treated me and my stuff during Covid for being on the front line is how Covid nurses get treated for taking care of Covid patients then fear for humanity

I asked if they had a waiting list I could be placed on. Answer was "no", so I had to go in every couple of days to inquire if a storage unit (5 X 10) was available. Persistence paid off. Store personnel were always friendly.

Then several of my boxes of books got destroyed from what I'm assuming to be either water or poison. I would use this facility again but put my belongings on boards and spray poison around my boxes.

It was a hassle to get even the payments made because the accounts were so messed up. They had a really knowledgeable hard working friendly guy working for them and the manager treated him like trash. He actually knew more than the manager so the manager fired him. Big mistake. He could work circles around the other guys.

My daughter had told me the same thing happened to her unit and when she took 25 minutes to track down someone to remove it (according to the instructions on the tag), they just said "oh, you could have removed that". There was supposed to be a free lock inside the unit, but there wasn't. Luckily we already had our own.
