michael wPhone calls to the New Bedford site, always involved a long wait and several times calls were disconnected. Only one employee seemed to have info on the U-Haul containers…and when not available, promised return calls did not happen. On two instances, my sister opted to drive 15-20min to the site since phone contact was so challenging if not impossible. And even when at the U-Haul site in person, one of the male workers seemed more interested in interacting with a female coworker, rather than helping us. And when finally asked for help, he did not listen to what I was saying…I had to repeat several times that I had called 24 hours prior…just needed to know how to get to the container since I had not been there to access it previously. A general complaint is there was no advance information provided regarding 24 hour notice needed to access the container. And NOWHERE on the website or app does it state that the only access to containers is OUTSIDE with no shelter from the elements! At such a large facility it seems there could at least be an overhead shelter or covering. Lastly, all of my negative experiences at the New Bedford site were in stark contrast to the helpful, efficient, nice staff in Bellingham and Oak Harbor, WA. Phone calls were answered promptly and courteously and any unanswered questions were resolved with a return call within 5 minutes in WA. Lastly, we paid the monthly rental fee on a Monday (which is when we were informed of 24 hour notice for access) and were informed the container rental which was due the following day, needed to be paid in order for them to move it for our access (which was delayed 24 hours due to notice required). When we arrived the next day to access the container and discovered the container was outside in a parking lot…we reconsidered keeping our items in the container. We arranged to rent a Uhaul truck the following morning, and emptied the container before noon. Given it was only one day into the month's rental, I inquired as to whether there would be a prorated refund. I was told there would be NO PRORATED REFUND. I then contacted the WA facility to inquire if that seemed appropriate. The WA general manager stated she would have refunded the full amount as a good faith gesture under the circumstances. She offered to submit a query to the GM at the New Bedford facility…to investigate further and that I should get a call from the NB GM within 48 hours. The following AM I received an email informing me of a refund as a credit to my CC for the monthly fee… I appreciate the refund as I believe it was the proper action. However, if I had not inquired as to the validity of the charge, I am pretty sure it would not have occurred. Never did get a phone call from the GM…which is where I would have explained my experience but instead have done so here.

It was intermittent but I would step on the brakes, and the pedal would bounce back up and I would a grinding type of sound. I spoke with the store associate who was excellent in his customer relations by the way. Yet, I should not be driving any vehicle with brakes problems.

Robert RI picked the truck up and the fuel tank was on empty, with the "11 miles to empty" warning. I had to gas up before I even used the truck, and by the time I got to the nearest available gas station, I was down to 7 miles to empty. I rent from Uhaul quite a bit and from different locations and this one was by far the worst experience. The attendants were nice, but the empty tank really threw a wrench into my plans.

This guy was very rude and acted like I didn't know anything and told me that the rental unit I have did not exist and I told him I was there earlier in the day and was actually in the unit??? It is 2023 and I was being degraded because I am a woman. It went on a little while longer while I was asking about my U-Box that was delivered from Florida and he continued to contradict me every other sentence. I ended hanging up on him. I went in Wednesday October 11th and what a difference, the workers were excellent and were truly caring and so helpful.

My one negative is that it took FOREVER to unload our truck because the units we got were as far away as possible from the unloading zone we had to use. We were told the indoor unloading area would not be tall enough for U-Haul's 26-foot truck, which resulted in a 2-minute walk to get from the truck to the unit. We spent almost 2 hours just walking back and forth to the units. I wrongfully assumed that all of the unloading areas at a U-Haul storage facility would accommodate U-Haul-branded trucks, which made for a drawn-out and unfortunate unloading process.

Finally was able to put a complaint to find out the I have to wait 72 hours to get an answer.. not good..

In the instructions there was no procedure give as to how to use the access code. There is a sign on the building that states you need a swipe card to gain access after hours. This I found out was not true. If you use key pad on the right then the one on the left it will open. Sitting on the phone and speakin g with customers service , why wouldn't the rep ask us to try this procedure first. Instead all my belongings had to sit in the back of trucks exposed to the weather and being stolen. Bottom line I was beyond upset

I just got an extra 5x10. AND no signs of insects or rodents. Which is my BIGGEST CONCERN.

When we reserved they did not tell us that we had to go to a different location to do the paperwork and get the unit number and access code. The young man who waited on us at Mt. Pleasant st. Currently you have to step down about 5" which is not convenient or safe for moving items in/out of building and may cause injury to people especially when moving large household items. Also something to hold the door open to make moving items from truck into building more efficient.

After the 3rd person, we found out the unit was at a totally different site. We went to the new site, only to find that we still could not get in…because we had STILL not received proper instructions! We ended up not using the unit and would not recommend your facility to anyone else. We wasted about an hour and a half out of our day.

NORAIMA V | Expérience généraleWhen I made the reservation it did not say I had to go to a different location to get the keys. When I went to get the keys I was told the units were still being built and were not available. After talking to the manager she sent someone to "do the walls" so that I could move in. When I got there the unit wasn't even numbered. I waited nearly an hour at the unit for the person who was supposed to be doing something with the walls to come and tape a paper sign with hand written number in it. I was so disappointed with the experience. Also, in regards to cleanliness, there was a pair of men's underwear and what appeared to be a sex toy as soon as you walk in on the ground. Also, to talk to anyone on the phone is a 30 minute hold time.

The email did not state that or which door to enter. My friend and I drove all around the building, in the rain, with our two SUV's circling around trying to find out how to unload. We had to drive to another UHaul location and the employee there didn't know what was going on either. She offered me the small box pods sitting outside, which isn't what I had paid for online nor would it fit any of my belongings. She finally called someone and got actual directions. I tried calling UHaul several times and there was an hour wait every single time just to get to a representative for UHaul and I couldn't get through. I finally have access to the unit but the hours are not convenient at all and neither was the process finding it.
