The mobile app is terrible. It timed out while I was searching for the truck I'd been assigned in the parking lot and then wouldn't let me get the truck. I had to spend an extra thirty minutes in the store to resolve the issue. The drivers license and photo of the customer should be requested at the time the reservation is made, not when the vehicle is picked up. I shouldn't show up for my vehicle expecting to be able to be in and out when in reality I have to wait for an agent to approve my reservation.

Evan laplanteWe had reserved a spot for a travel trailer at the Clearfield Utah location using the app/online only to learn when we went in to pay that they were in the process of tearing down the covered trailer parking to make room for more storage units, I believe I heard them say. The app/online reservation system was not updated to reflect that. We were very apologetically referred by the Clearfield location general manager, after calling ahead, to go talk to the Ogden location general manager with the understanding that they only had an uncovered parking spot temporarily until a covered spot opened up. The self-important "gentleman"' manning the counter/computer without referring us to his general manager very rudely informed us that: there was no spot available, had informed his general manger that there was no spot available, our only recourse was to call the Ogden location every week until a spot opened up, and sent us on our way to look elsewhere. Looking on their location map in the app and on google earth there are three RV parking spots next to the building. The next morning the general manager of the Ogden location called to let us know that a covered spot had indeed opened up and asked if we would like to take it, we happily said that we'd like to take the spot. Turning a not very good situation into a very good one.

Jeff PhillipsWhen I handed my debit card to the clerk, he said that you don't accept gift credit cards. In fact, it wasn't a gift card at all, it was a debit m/c card I've been using for over a decade from my own bank. I mentioned it was the same card Uhaul accepted to hold the reservation from the previous day by another clerk. Nothing against today's clerk, he was just going by what the computer was telling him. I did use another card I had, but sure seemed silly your system thought my daily debit card (which Uhaul actually accepted previously) was a gift card. Otherwise, everything was on point.

Jose GarciaThe guy at recieving dropped the trailer behind my car and walked away from it w/o securing it so Wind blew it into my car. The guy didnt know he needed to take my hitch that i rented, so had i not asked about it; i would have drove off with it.
Lorna VanceThere were some items left in the truck from the previous renter. The lock they put on the back would not open with the key I was given. I had to go back and get them to unlock it. The gas gauge they mark on the receipt was way off, by almost a quarter of a tank.

Claudio SchwartzmanIt's less busy if you rent during the week. Saturday is very hectic so you should expect to wait unless you do the truck share. If everyone would do their reservation online and then the check-in with the photos of their driver's license it would speed things up. I can't fault the company when swarms of people show up at the same time. The employees are super nice.
BARBARA REESEThe guy who checked me in literally lied and told me my reserved storage on the first floor was gone. But when I needed another storage unit as my truck had more than the other unit I had to rent to storage units and the guy lied told me there where no space available on ground level. Obviously was a lie. I am thankful I had my screenshots of my reservation.

She came up with a key and was nice enough to be concerned about us as people and not just a business number, so to speak. The staff was equally friendly, helpful and kind. Lisa KennedyFirst, I rented a car hauler about 6 months ago and didn't have a drop hitch so I had my son -in -law buy one and I paid him back from U-Haul. So I rented the same Car hauler this past weekend and I pulled out the hitch that U-haul sold my son-in -law, and they told me that that hitch wasn't good enough that I needed a different one, one that was longer. So I told them well This is the hitch you sold my son in law this is the same truck that hauled the trailer 6 months ago same trailer type. Nope you need a longer drop hitch. So I said fine my time isn't starting until I come back with a longer drop hitch, and I'm driving away with that trailer hooked up. So I picked up a longer drop hitch and they loaded the trailer on and They gave me till 1pm to have it back. My point is why isn't the hitch information on the web sight? My time was wasted my mechanic's time was wasted and there time at U-Haul was wasted. The hitch ordeal sounds more like a scam to make money on hitches.

That is ridiculous uhaul is a huge company and don't have to tax people that hard. So I did a settlement. But they didn't say on w I did that I wasn't allowed in after hours. They would only unlock it while they were there.i wasn't allowed to use their garbage receptacles.as sonn as I signed the settlement papers I was treated like a criminal and that is not right I don't think I want anyone I know treated like that

The Worker Told Me There Was A Parking Garage By The Entrance To My Storage . When I Went Over There Big Wooden Boxes Were Stored In The Parking Space Where The Uhaul Would Fit Maintenance Told Me To Ask The People Up Front If Then Can Move It And The Guy At The Front Desk Said They Cant Move It Just Lift The Door And Cart Everything In So I Did In The Pouring Rain . It Was A Horrible Experience And It Felt Like The Employees Did Not Care At All , All Of My Boxes We're Soaked And Still Had To Walk Them Up The Stairs .

The manager communicated with me promptly if concerns arose and helped me from the beginning to get the kind of unit that would be best for me. The staff explained the best way to be able to recycle the boxes -- paper tape -- and made sure I knew I could return unused boxes with receipt. The space was clean, secure, spacious, easy to get to, including covered parking during wet months. What a blessing! This has been an immensely intense time of my life, and I needed to feel that my possessions were safe while I navigated through, and I felt more than safe. I felt cared for and supported, and I will always be thankful for how everyone treated me even though they could never guess how terrified I was. I wish the best for all of the folks who keep that UHaul center as wonderful as it is.
Claire Hughes | Expérience généraleWhile I was cleaning out my storage unit I was donating a few items and an employee comes riding in on little scooter and sees that I have a mattress on my cart (which I was not leaving because I had read the sign that said you do not allow mattresses to be donated) and yells "you can't leave your mattress!" Instead of coming and talking to me she just kept riding by watching me as I was leaving the items I was donating just to make sure I didn't leave the mattress. It would have been a lot easier and more professional to just come talk to me. My other complaint was the letter I got recently about the price increase. When I first started renting the unit the price was $50 and the main reason I stopped was the jump to $70 a month.

Yet uhaul rented to me in 2018 when I moved from Idaho to Utah with no issues. And then you claim that there was an issue when my sister in law went in to rent a uhaul. Your customer service needs a pick up. You had employees rolling their eyes when we were told that the back storage area was open yet when we pulled up the doors didn't automatically open as it states on the wall

It is an indoor facility where everything had to be put on carts and wheeled to your units from the moving truck. We had a 26 foot truck FULL of 27 years of our household items. While trying to cart not only small items but big heavy items we are having to move around other people doing the same thing. In the past, we have always been able to pull right up to our unit and unload directly from moving truck. Also, first thing that same morning I received an email that said one of our units were canceled, but no phone call. I had to call Uhaul two times in order to get answers. Apparently they did not have the size I reserved available and canceled it. I feel they could have called me as I was panicked since I had my entire house I needed to store. I WILL NOT be using this storage facility again.

I rented a truck and wanted to redeem my free month of storage that you get with a truck rental but the associate said that I had to get the truck from their location specifically in order to do that. I got the truck from somewhere local and expected to be able to have a free month of storage. When I called and talked to an associate nothing was mentioned about having to get the truck from a specific location and nothing was mentioned on the website. It was very inconvenient to have to dish out another 90$ for a storage unit after paying already for a truck.

The manager knows what she is doing and is amazing. My only complaint is that for a facility that is supposed to have 24 hr access to a unit I'm paying for, U-Haul wants to charge me additional fees to have actual 24 hr access. That seems like a con. The QR code posted to get more information about 24 hr access leads to a dead web link. The office hours are posted. The facility "open hours" are not posted. I only found out what the facility hours were after having to call the security company to get access to the building because my access card wasn't working after I got locked out mid move and was unable to at least lock up my unit. I'd have to wait 7 hrs to be able to get back in. Some customers work odd hours, and can only do their moving at night. And with our current heat wave, it's actually preferable. If I start moving things in and out during "open hours", I can be locked out of my unit and the building in the middle of my move the moment I walk out the door to put something in my car after 10:01 pm. Or set off alarms while inside the building and have the police called because I can't turn it off by just swiping my card. That's an awkward situation that doesn't need to happen. As long as I have my access card or code, there should be no restrictions on me accessing my unit for the full 24 hrs like ANY OTHER storage company. The building doesn't "close" right when the office closes. While I appreciate those "extended access hours", Restricting those hours of access doesn't make a lot of sense, especially with all the cameras and the heavy duty security system already in place. Wanting to charge extra for that access, without offering the ability to even choose to pay for that option online outside of office hours like what is already available when starting a unit rental contract on the U-Haul website, seems like poor planning. My only suggestion is that when you move out and don't have time to go to the office to close out your unit, to leave your storage door open so they know you have checked out and it is vacant. I had two. One with a swinging door and the other with a roll up door. I pulled the roller door down when I vacated. Even though the locks were removed they only checked me out of the unit with the swinging door. That one closed out flawlessly. The other, they didn't easily see it so I had to call and go into the office to ensure that it was closed out. Had I left the door open I'm sure it would have been like the other unit. They sent me a text to ask if I moved out, which I responded yes, and emailed me a close out receipt. The other they didn't do it was clear that they did not know. Outside of that, a great experience.

I already tried to resolve these issues at corporate level. I would like to thank the staff at the Odgen facility for helping me load my Uhaul when my moving help didn't show up. The people at the counter were always helpful and courteous. My rating is because of this: I do have 2 issues with Uhaul and why I would not ever rent from them again. I was discouraged when I rented my storage shed & told that I would be getting a military discount after the first month then it wasn't honored. I called corporate and they backed up the store manager after you state that you support our military. Doesn't seem that way to me. Also, to pay for a truck for 4 days and have it back in less than 24 hrs & receive no kind of refund for the unused days is messed up. Uhaul is going to immediately re-rent that truck out and make even more money off of it. I can see being charged for the actual number of days you have it + a one way fee. When you put in the destination, Uhaul determined the number of days for the rental. I did not.

The man was rolling his eyes and shrugging his shoulders and being indignant towards me despite being a returning paying customer. Mr. Simmons and I were in disagreement about existing damage to a rental truck which he was trying to place blame on me. When I asked to see a picture of the truck prior to me renting it , Mr. Simmons showed me a picture of a completely different truck ! How do I know ? Because the truck I rented has a serial number painted on the truck just above the drivers seat. Mr. Simmons told me the picture was taken on June 18th , 2021. However there was no serial number on the truck he showed me despite claiming the truck had been at that facility for 3 or more years now. I asked Mr. Simmons for contact information and how to begin the process to dispute the damage, he responded by calling the police and describing me as a threatening black man with gold chains and tattoos ! When the cops arrived , they told me I had every right to try to collect that information. Being reduced to negative stereotypical attributes and having the cops called on me for wanting a corporate email is not the service I was looking to receive from Store #720055

When I started to ask about my storage unit I was hung up on. I believed the first unit I booked to be online move-in accessible, but I ended up not being able to use the online process for that unit, so I ended up booking a different one. This took a significant amount of time to figure out and disrupted my moving schedule. I also ended up getting charged for the first month despite the deal running for first month free if also booking a u-haul truck. Had I been able to discuss my unit prior to move in I maybe would've had a different experience.

There was one guy on the phone helping another customer. Two staff members where just walking around behind the desk. In line there was me and one other guy behind me. After waiting for so long I just polightly asked if I had to stay there or if I could just call in later to close out my account. For three days I tried to call and got looped around the phone system and never actully talked to someone. For as many customers that where in the store 4 of us with 5 or so staff members it seems a bit crazy that there was over a 20 minute wait to be serviced and again it was only 20 minutes because I left.

Then I realised that the Unit I had chosen in the facility would not be suitable. I tried to rearrange the unit over the phone, the young lady advised me that she was unable to see what was available and what was not. Consequently I returned a little later to the facility to rearrange the rental and the female customer service rep, Carol, was little more than unpleasant. She was rude, curt and unhelpful. She claimed that the price I had been quoted in the morning of $59+, and that was also listed on the website, was not the price of the unit I requested in place of the original one. She claimed that it was $69+ and had always been that price. She offered no explanation for the price hike of $10, other than that it was the original price. I left and immediately found another provider, with a site manager who has had some customer service training and knows how to employ it. I am happily ensconced at that site Bad choice of employee, U-Haul. I will not return to your facility for any service or product. I will also share my experience with anyone who wants to know where to store their belongings for a lengthy-term (12 months +)

Had a reservation confirmation, and when I went to move in, I was told the reservation meant nothing because there weren't any spaces available. I was told it was first come, first serve which I thought the reservation would help with. It didn't. A bit of a rough start but I do have a spot and i'm sure it will work out just fine.

I think there are laws she's breaking and secondly she doesn't own this Uhaul. She also treats customers rudely, she is not a good representative of Uhaul and I hope they replace her.
