Very bad customer service. The lady at the desk was not pleasant. In addition, they don't even take the time to ensure the truck is full of gas. First and last time in renting there.

Only my third attempt to install the hitch eventually succeeded. The first attempt on Sat failed, as it appeared that my car was a bit rusty, so the mechanic said that he needed more time than the 0,5h scheduler initially, during the online reservation. As the mechanic didn't have enough time buffer that day, the installation was rescheduled to the next Sat. On the next Sat, during the installation, it appeared that the hatch receiver was actually out of stock. I was told that the U-Haul centre would ask other centres for the hitch receiver, and then they would call me back. As I didn't receive any calls within a week after that, I called the centre myself on Fri, and was told that the centre got the receiver, but for some reason, my pre-scheduled Sat appointment will happen at 7AM, instead of 12PM. Fortunately, I was able to arrive at 7AM and finally got the installation. Bottom lines: 1) I like the quality of the hitch receiver itself, and the installation labor 2) I don't really like that I had to drive to the U-Haul centre three times, and the absence of notifications about the hitch obtaining, and the appointment re-scheduling.

I arrived to find the trailer I ordered was damaged. The staff weren't terribly sympathetic, though they directed me to a different location. Still, larger outlets like this one are more professional than the mom and pop Uhaul outlets attached to other businesses; they are terrible. Overall, this industry needs more competition.

A day before the drive I got an offer from U-Haul getting a bigger truck and a lesser price. When I got to the U-Haul at the at the location I didn't got the discount that I was offer. The truck that I was supposed to take was locked between other trucks and the driver wasn't willing to help me getting the truck out of the truck lot. So overall not a very good experience

Hi Everything was fine except the person at the counter is not helpful at all. She looks always tired and like she doesn't like her job at all. Is not my first I have to ask her a question or a service. She is always like " I don;t care",is not my business,I don't give a shit.. She makes feel the customer that he he is always asking stupid and useless questions.Anyways, she should some training in customer service. The company and the service they provide are great but one employee can make the experience very disappointing Other than that I have been using the units and trucks for long time and no issues. All I would like to see is better attention at the counter during business hours Thanks

I ordered a hand truck and a dollie. Neither were available when I picked up the truck. This is the second time it's happened. If I was notified prior I could've made other arrangements. But on move day, I had to scramble to resolve this.

Some minor issues with the truck. The driver's side wiper blade needs to be replaced The headlights are not aimed correctly The transmission downshifts roughly, should check on that before it gets worse The parking brake release is dodgy, I had to reapply the parking brake and re-release it a second time to get it to disengage the brake.

The cabin of the truck was not clean. The floor was dirty with salt, had dust and dirt in the cupholders. It had definitely not been cleaned for multiple rentals. When I tried to specify this after the rental, the app wanted to charge me an additional fee of $25. My rental cost was about $50. Other than this cleanliness issue I could have resolved with 2 or 3 wet wipes, everything was great. I would have given a score of excellent. Merci.

I know sometimes things get busy and this location has both vehicule and storage room rentals. A destintion in the line up could be made(How?? I do not know) between the two. I had a vehicule reserved and we stood in line for quite a bit of time and that was due to people renting a locker or something.. which seems to need a lot of checks(as expected), but it kept the other people in line waiting for service. But overall, I was very pleased with the service received.

Took a while to get the keys (someone ahead of us that took time) and when the vehicle was returned (not sure why). Truck had difficulty backing up on snow. Have not received a receipt yet Staff were friendly, able to purchase boxes, rent other equipment if need..

Terry was very helpful. He showed me how to get to the locker, the locker itself, how to put on the lock, where the loading dock was, where the dollies were, how to enter the code to disarm the alarm, how to unlock the outside door, where the indoor loading dock was. He must do this dozens of times per day, but he was very patient and helpful.

Properly maintain the parking lot so the truck isn't stuck in ice even before I get in it and have to spend 15 minutes trying to leave. Remove signage from inside truck so that isn't the customer's responsibility. Even better have a staff member bring the truck near the door for you ready to go after check in...this is what proper rental companies do

Horrible experience. Got a phone call the day before picking up a 10' cube van to move our daughter out of her apartment asking if we would consider changing to a cargo van as they had one that needed to be returned to the Toronto area which is where we were heading. I did not want the cargo van so we stuck with the 10' cube that I reserved. The U-Haul person who Allen did not happy about my choice. The morning of pickup i got another call saying that no vehicle was available. Obviously, this was not acceptable as we were already driving over 5 hours to Ottawa. Other options were thrown our way including driving another 40 minutes each way to pick up a huge van from another location. This was not acceptable. Finally, it appeared that the only vehicle available was the cargo van that needed to be returned to Toronto. What a surprise......... It appears that the crew at this Ottawa location did everything they could to get us to take this cargo van so that it would get returned to the Toronto area. In my opinion they lied to me just to get there way. This was very stressful as I hope you would understand. Luckily all my daughters belongings did fit in the cargo van but only because we had to bring our SUV up instead of my rather economical car so this was double the cost in gas for us. Finally, when the van was dropped off in Burlington, we were charged for extra kms because that crew in Ottawa got the paperwork wrong. With the original reservation we had plenty of Kms to get home but, for some reason the kms was changed to miles but still said kms. After speaking with customer service I did get a refund for this so that issue is resolved. Basically this was a horrible and stressful experience. It should have been simple.

The reservation I made seemed as if I'd only spend 280$. Altogether I must of spent 440, I told them I had intended to use the storage for an atv (guess I should've read the contract) cause when I got there I was told if the atv had gas or oil the contract would be null and void. What a waste of time. Had to bring the atv back to my home adding an additional of 44km+

1-Instructions to open lock box not clear (need to slide the door to open the box), and the door to the box was frozen. 2- The van was full of snow/ice and there was no brush. 3- The parking was not shoveled properly and the van was stuck in snow 4- The van did not have snow tires

Aside from some reservation confusion which was eventually resolved, the move-in experience was handled efficiently and quickly to complete required paperwork and access a convenient storage unit to meet our needs. Very sensitive and helpful employees who took personal time to come with me to ensure I knew what to do before movers arrived with our household effects to place into storage. Many thanks to the staff for all the prior information as well.

Took advantage of the free month offer as I had rented a 26ft truck with a 5x8 trailer. I must say that it was very helpful to us and a very positive experience. My only recommendation when designing future facilities is that it would be nice if the inside loading/unloading areas were designed so that you pull through instead of having to back in. Just a bit of a pain with a trailer.

I had come at the end of the month on a Saturday afternoon not thinking about the extra business they might be taking care of. The two Ladies were very friendly and provided excellent service. I was adding an additional unit to my contract which took no time at all. I was informed to use the call box if when I got to the unit there was a pad lock on it. There was and one of the Ladies was right over when I let them know. I have worked directly with customers in almost all my work and these two were amazing even on a crazy busy day.

We received an email from U-Haul saying that we were eligible for a few unit. So we decided to go with u-haul again for our now 3rd unit and when I made the reservation they said that shouldn't be a problem and they could apply that when we go in to confirm our booking. But when our employee went and booked he had to pay. I called and they said that they couldn't access this and a manager would call me back, but no one has. The reservation email also said (in bold letters) FREE lock, and we had to pay for the lock. So there is miscommunication and misleading information. It doesn't make us confident with U-Haul. We've been clients and have had a company profile for years now, have 3 storage units with you, we rent trucks on a frequent basis and occasional units for clients, and we are just trying to obtain the free 1st month promotion we received via email. I had an overall great experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facility looked new and clean. I would not hesitate to use them again if I needed storage.

Although, the overall experience with respect to storage was excellent. I was upset at UHaul policy with billing. When I first signed up for storage, it was pro-rated based on day of month I started. I had storage for several months and checked out days after being billed for a complete month. The associate at UHaul informed me there is no Pro-rating upon checkout. That's very upsetting as I had to pay the entire month even though I checked out. On that basis, I wouldn't recommend UHaul to anyone… sorry, I was ripped off because of this!

The washroom at the facility was disgusting. The ladies did not want to use it. Because of this I rated low. This cant happen again The access, available equipment and building set up was well thought out. .

The people and the facility are fine. Two things happened though, one when a mishap made that I had the wrong storage unit than the one reserved. Another unit was given after some time and back and forth. I had a truck full and two paid men waiting for two hours worth of salary.They compensated with a bigger unit for the same price, which was appreciated. The second thing happened was when I rented a truck to move in winter. When came the day and time the truck was in the back totally covered in ice and snow. It took a very long time to get it warm and roadworthy. Again making for delays and expenses with the hired help. No other truck was ready or help offered. Because of these two events I give an average rating.

There should be signage and a map when you get off the elevator to be able to know which way you are going to get to your locker. There is a map on the first floor, I thought there would've been one on the 2nd.

Answer 6 I put a no because I wanted to put a maybe. The service was good in ottawa.. need more staff on weekends...assistant manager was great. Cornwall location was sketchy.... hated the uhaul app. Especially for check in as it gave different gas levels... don't know why there was a discrepancy between app and your main system. The app said half a tank of gas which matched the truck while your main computer system did 3/4 of a tank... was not impressed as we filled up the truck for half a tank and was going to be charged for not going to 3/4...that is not right... what if I did self check out in the app? It would of charged me more.... plus, someone smoked in the truck and there was no where to capture that during pick up in the app...couldn't move past the field without a picture of smoke. Took random picture then found Coffee stains on the floor and could not add another picture to show how dirty cab was....

Not comparable to Dymon. I called the facility to ask questions before booking and I booked directly through the location I wanted. I booked a 10x20 but when we arrived we were told they don't have 10x20 spaces but rather we would get 2 10x10 units. They did not tell me that over the phone, nor in the reservation. When I arrived I had the reservation in the uhaul app but they could not find it. I also asked over the phone if a large moving truck could pull up to an area and be loaded and unloaded without going up and down a ramp. They said yes. They do not have this at the facility.

Sudden SIREN STARTED YELLING after I opened my storage unit. Very loud and unexpectedly. Sure I checked in thus disarmed the alarm before opening my unit. Then another sudden SIREN STARTED YELLING when I closed my unit. Used intercom, asked for support, 2 employees came and didn't find the reason for alarms. Then I checked out, i.e. armed the alarm which should be triggered only if someone openes the unit without prior disarming the alarm. Employees left, and after some time another SIREN STARTED YELLING for no apparent reason at all, as no buttons were pressed or doors opened for 2-3 minutes before that. After calming down ANOTHER SIREN STARTED YELLING. And after calming down ANOTHER SIREN STARTED YELLING. I used intercom - no response for a few minutes. I opened the gate to drive out and another SIREN STARTED YELLING. Found employees myself, they said they run out of office hours thus can do nothing about it that day. I agreed with assistant manager he'd check the next day and send the email confirming the issue was fixed. I didn't receive such an email from him that next day. In a day I accessed the unit again, no siren was triggered but it can yell another time. While employees were friendly, no practical support to the issue was provided. Plus mandatory purchase of a lock ($10) during contract sign which wasn't communicated in advance - they didn't allow using own lock; and attempt to upsell monthly insurance service implying it's mandatory: no "I don't wan't extra insurance at all" option when looking at insurance price options. Overall, loud unexpected SIREN for no reason, no one at support via intercom for a few minutes when really required, email confirmation of issue fix wasn't delivered as promised, deceptive sales practices. Can't recommend.

Too corporate. People onsite of with no power to satisfy the customer. Accidentally booked a unit too small. An hour later got to site and noticed my mistake and asked to move to a larger one. Was forced to pay for a month for the accident unit. Staffed laughed and said they couldn't do anything. I will never rent with you again

When you feel there is a problem with my account, or that I am not paying enough, you CALL. We did not set up our accounts at UHaul. Your staff did. I was told I was paying for the package signature feature. We have absolutely left because of the new manager and staff. Moving down the road to Dymon, they will not just throw on charges but CALL us if there is a problem with our bill.

All of my experiences with this U-haul, in the past two years, have been excellent. From the truck rental for my long distance move to two years of storage, to the last rentals for our final move. Your floors in the facility are uneven and have cracks/little ledges which make it more difficult to move large and heavy objects. The 2 key entry is also a bit overkill… entering one code should be enough. Overall decent experience

Only complaint I have is that my whole reservation I made online with somebody at the 1877 number it the whole reservation was wrong from my spelling of name to rearranging my cell number. I was also supposed to get a 10 ft truck and they messed that up to told me I was paying 29 for the truck plus insurance gas and kms. I put gas myself and u guys charged me 185 plus taxes instead. But for the most part the staff was helpful at the location I was frustrated and the helped fix most of the issues but the cost was way more than I expected.

I would like to recognize Gabriel at this location. Our rental went a bit sideways with some confusion on the storage unit but Gabriel ensured that we were taken care of. I reserved a specific size and left my credit card on file to guarantee the space I needed. When I got there, they told me they didn't have my size. I ended up having to get two spaces that cost me $150 plus taxes more than what I had reserved. When I went to the manager and told him what had happened. He told me I should have come in and reserved right away. I told him that the person that I spoke to on the phone never told me that. He told me that it was too bad and there was nothing he could do. When I finally had to take the two smaller units, there was mouse feces all over the ground. The facility is poorly maintained. The service is poor and leadership and customer service from the top down is severely lacking.

I've been using U-Haul for over 2 years and so far my experience are pleasant. The Manager is very understanding and helpful, (I believe his name was Steven), who helped me previously. Jason, the gentleman that assisted me yesterday July 1st was very accommodating, super patient and helpful. All the staff are approachable and friendly. The customer service is awesome. Although, the wait time on the phone is way too long being on hold. The mobile check In and out is super convenient. The website could be improved. The storage units are clean and well maintained. *The only request I can ask is that for the units that are on 2nd level could really use a mechanical lift to help elevate and lift the furniture/appliance, household items, because just like me with back injuries could help not contribute to more injury and prolonged the back pains when moving the stuff into the storage(s). Over all, everything was great! Thank you so much!

Although I had already paid up until July 16, I would have appreciated some type of rebate, having moved out of unit 15 days early. Especially since I also reserved a truck with you as well. That extra $120 could have been used elsewhere while it in moving process.

There was rodent droppings in the unit. I couldn't quickly locate a broom to sweep out the unit, so I had to use my shoe to try and remove as much as possible before storing my items. Additionally, the heat is still on in the loading dock and made it uncomfortable for unloading things unless we kept opening the garage door. These things aside, the experience was great - staff were friendly and attentive. The person who unlocked the locker was done their shift by the time we were done in the office but still showed us to the locker so the other employee could continue to work in the office.

The manager and staff at uhaul were always very professional and answered all my questions patiently, they deal with a great deal of customer driven stress but always keep their cool. The security set up with keypad sign in and out is the best in the industry, far better than the competition. Pricing is competitive, and i was always greeted by name, so i felt safe storing our house contents at uhaul. Keep up the great work.

- the trucks were not parked in order: when we picked up our truck, it took 4 times before getting a truck that was actually accessible. The first one was stuck between two other trucks, then, the 2nd one, one door was not closing, the 3rd one was also stuck between two trucks... We had to look at a truck available (i.e. in front of truck line) and run back to the staff inside to tell them which one was in the front. All of that involved a lot of running from and to the truck parking lot.

I received specific information about my truck rental from the manager in orleans. In her absence, the front workers were very unhelpful and my issue was not solved. I have closed my account with UHaul and have also contacted the manager. Also I was told if I close my unit early there would be a prorated refund. Perhaps I was wrong but this is was disappointing. There has got to be a better way for clients to have a much better experience at your Uhaul location.

When we arrived our locker was taken and had to then move to a second level locker which was very inconvenient due to the size and weight of our items. I will say that the staff member who helped us solve the issue was extremely friendly and wanted to make sure we were ok. However the staff at the counter were less then friendly specifically when the staff member that helped us wanted questions answered. It was extremely busy with returns and understand the staff was under pressure.

I got charged late fees while the money was in my account so many times. I even called last month to ask why the payment did not go through and why I had no emails, the lady helped me and tried to reprocess the payment and it still did not work. I decided to empty my unit and use another storage. The staff at the Orleans location is helpful however the general Uhaul number is useless. I will NEVER rent another storage unit from uhaul just based on the service I received.

Communication with staff and resolve of issues with staff was very good, except for management (Paul Parker). The Manager (Young Guy) was very disrespectful. opened my storage without notifying me and additionally treated me very disrespectfully! There is a female employee who works only day shifts from what I have noticed.... long dark hair. She never smiles, never a pleasant welcome... does not look happy to be working. We have encountered her three times. In the beginning of my rentals she was to have the manager call me (Paul) as we first booked on line and what we booked was not available (not our fault the website was not reflective of what was available) so I told her that I wanted to have the same price of a unit t that we booked online for. She said she couldn't authorize that and would have the manager call me. Never received a call. I called 3 times to speak to Paul and talked to the same girl 3 times she said Paul wasn't in ... so I asked her 3 times to have Paul call me. Never got a call. I was so frustrated that I just gave up on trying... it ended up that I needed and second locker which aggravated me even more because I didn't want my stuff all over Ottawa. I don't know if we forgot instructions or if the person renting us the space but we did not get a code so when we put our goods in storage the alarm sounded snd the same happened when we removed our things. We were told only then that we had to enter a code at the door. Otherwise it was fine.

Regarding closing the account: I was surprise to find out that their was no pro-rata per day with U-Haul. I should of read the whole contract at the counter in front of your cashier employee before agreeing of taking the storage unit. Unfortunately its impossible to read the find print of your contract when the booking is done over the phone or at the counter. IF I MAY SUGEST, this should be clarify at the time of the booking on the phone or at the counter by your sale team, this would certainly prevent a disappointment, frustration and hard ship when money is tight. It's the lines. It takes a Lot of time to get a storage locker or to pick up a truck. When you are just buying boxes, you may have to wait for an hour. Make a self checkout or SOMETHING!

Overall satisfied. One issue was that the map did not match reality and the unit we were originally assigned was a different size and we had to go back to the office to wait in line and get moved to another location. Not a huge deal, but also a bit strange. While we were waiting, the couple in front of use were clearly having the same issue. A bit strange that that if the map is wrong that it would not be corrected or at least that the staff would not know which were which even if there had not been time yet to fix the maps. Also, no apology for inconvenience, which was not necessary but would have been nice. Clean and nice facility.

Upset that the walk in reservation was not "Saved". I called 2 days before my check in and all data was lost i had to go the reservation process. I also couldn't check in on line I was always getting an error.. Regardless of the protection glass your staff should still wear masks... You should have a touchless pay system, pen, key pad were not disinfected after use.

The indoor storage space was great. The problem I had over and over again, is that I couldn't get in. I wasted time and money when I was trying to move out, because the code was not working. I called and told them the next day, they said they will reset it,I came back after work and couldn't get in again! There is no one to call after 7 pm. I had to wait again till the next day. Then there's the confusing issue of 2 boxes, to punch your number into, and you have to punch in your number to the one on the left first... if you punch it in on the right before the left it will look you out- no one explained that until I got locked out- it makes no sense why it has to be that way- , anyways my number did not work in either boxes.Then I realized there's a 3rd punch in box. There should be clear instructions. It was a very frustrating experience to go there 3 times, and be looked out all there times after getting reassurances from the staff that my code works and that I should be able to get in.

I willl use only uhaul in the future. The staff were amazing. So helpful and accommodating. I recommend them to everyone. Clean, bright and secure. My rental trucks air conditioning wasn't working. It was very hot and uncomfortable. Also the service is very very slow, you need to hire more people. I left the lineup because I couldn't wait..you can't have 1 person working, and answering phone calls and 10 people in line. Other than than that, I loved the 24 hour access to my storage unit and the fact that it's heated in the winter...

Some improvements in the website when signing up is a little difficult and when you check there are items that in there that you did not selected. Signing in is hidden at the bottom in Manage you account. Also reservation is hard when I select storage to reserve and checking out I received an error, double check everything but still error. I only get through when I select rent instead of reservation. Other than that the move in is smooth and easy.
