Alex was the guy who checked me in and helped me and he was GREAT! He was efficient, very clear about directions, flexible and friendly. When another customer returned a vehicle and blocked me in, he handled moving them quickly (he knew I was on a schedule) and was friendly to all. It was easy-in-easy-out all the way around. A MUCH BETTER experience that I had at this same location 8 or so years ago. Merci.

Only issue I had was out of U-Haul's control. When parking the truck at the dock to return the truck and keys, a man walked up and stuck his arm in the car (our windows were rolled down). At first he made it seem like he was a U-Haul employee by saying we could give the keys to him, but then he repeatedly asked for money while his arm was still in the truck. We told him no several times and started rolling the window up. He cursed us off and then walked away. 5 minutes later I saw him get kicked out of the U-Haul office by Ashley, who handled the situation incredibly well from what I saw. I'd also like to note Ashley was incredibly kind and helpful with my truck return and storage unit move-out. There was a younger man - tall and slim build, early 20s (if that) - whose name I didn't get, but he was also very helpful. Moving is always a pain, but they made the experience as quick and easy as possible. Like I said, totally out of U-Haul's control, but it was a jarring experience nonetheless and it could've been much worse if he had been armed with a weapon.

Nothing wrong with the cargo van. It's clean and got the job done. However, the pickup and drop off experience was unpleasant. The checkin counter staff was unfriendly and borderline rude for no reason. The staff was browsing Instagram or internet on the phone while checking in customer. During return, I brought back the van 10 mins before store closing time, but the store was already closed and I was forced to drop the key off in the key drop box. The drop box position was abnormally high above the ground. I am 5'9 and I still had to extend my arms all the way up to drop the key in the slot. Anyone below my height will have issues reaching the drop box.

The van I rented was not in the lot to be picked up when I arrived. The back of the van was soaking wet and I had to dry it before I began to load items in. The utility dolly I requested was also not in the van at the time of pick-up.

The young lady in the office was great. She was very personable and professional even though I could tell she was a little flustered. There was an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke in the truck and cigarette buds on the floor of the vehicle. We were able to clean it up and wipe things down.

The back of the truck was filled with tarps and equipment I didn't rent and still had items from someone else (baby bottle parts/pacifier in the back.) It was a complete mess but it was freezing outside and we were already running behind so we had to just shove it all to the side and share space with all the junk in the truck - making us have to borrow a pickup to take a final load the following day. When I returned the key my phone had died but I needed to do a mobile return so I went through the trouble of charging it in someone I don't even know's car - no joke. Only to open the app and it NOT WORK. I have a screen shot. So now I'm probably being charged more and it's not my fault and the truck itself was such a mess it made my move take a day longer due to not enough space with all the unwanted equipment in the back of it. Not happy at all and I've used y'all A LOT over the years. I just spent over $2600 with you on a cross country move this past September, for example. Will never rent from this location again.

I moved in yesterday, which was Sunday, 14, January 2024. The person that Assisted me was absolutely outstanding. She was there by herself, she had people dropping off vehicles, she had people calling to extend their drop off time, and people like myself that were checking in. She stayed beyond her normal work hours because myself and another Uhaul tenant were still moving our belongings in our respective units. She should be acknowledged for her professionalism, her friendliness, her knowledge, and her outstanding service. Laquesha was her name, however, I do not think I'm spelling it correctly. I hope whomever she reports to acknowledges her in a very special way. Please feel free to reach out to me. I am currently serving in the state of New York as a Director for the joint resiliency Director for the integrated primary prevention program workforce. I am a colonel and have had a myriad of experience with both military and civilian organizations. You are fortunate to have her as one of your team members! You can reach me at 707333-9985. I would be remiss if I did not mention David Tran. I spoke with him today about the additional unit that I rented yesterday and inquired about a military discount. He was more than accommodating and again represented your company in a way that will just continue to serve as both outstanding and an example of excellence in service. I only use this location because its 1) close to my place of work for which I need to rent vehicles and 2) I'm not paying for it. If I was paying for this with my own money, I would go literally anywhere else to rent a truck. The staff are, without exception, surly, rude, and unfriendly. They roll their eyes. They speak in monotone whispers. They grunt instead of use words. In some cases, they barely look like employees of any business. I dread having to come here. Its a terrible experience every single time.

Rat traps is an evidence of rodents in the facility. Gate jangles are not clean. Docks and gates were closed long before closing time (before 5pm) Facility is understaffed - one persons had to work with several customers at the same time

Booking was easy and I was able to book movers too. The pick up was not so simple… I signed up for mobile and the page wouldn't continue through loading so I went inside instead. There was no one at the counter and someone in a back office talking loudly on the phone: after about 3 guests arrived someone finally knocked on the back office guys door. He came out and everything went smoothly, but I was waiting there for about 15 mins to get my truck :/ The movers were great once they arrived. They were 2 hours late from finishing an earlier job. Once they came they were great, we got everything done and over with quickly with little to no damage

This was an absolutely horrible experience and I hope no one ever has to go thru that. The mobile app pickup is so glitchy and frustrating, and left me stranded at a sketchy location in downtown Philly. I will be seeking a complete refund.

Reservation was changed after calling to inform them of late arrival. Was told that it would be ok since it was a mobile pickup. After arriving my reservation was changed by uhaul from 6 pm to 10pm causing me to be unable to move and causing financial damage

Delighted with the location and services of this U-Haul location in Philly on N 13th (esp. the loading dock on Wood St). Very convenient while I was reorganizing my home storage. (The reasonable and recent price increases inspired me to get everything back under one roof.) Would definitely recommend. Facilities always clean and well let; staff consistently friendly and helpful; automated billing and emails handled well.

Don't advertise that it is easier to rent the truck online. Everything I did online and on the app, I had to do again before they would give me the truck. The location is supposed to open at 7AM and most mornings no one is there before 730 -745. Really created a problem because the person that was going to help me unload the truck had to leave by 730 - we couldn't get in so he had to leave and while unloading a cabinet alone, it fell and broke into pieces and was unrepairable.

Overall, the experience was okay. However, one of the staffs in the office was very impolite. He was one of the staffs helping me to rent the storage unit and moving-in, etc. Everytime single communication with him was unpleasant. He was not helpful as well. UHaul sent me an email saying that an additonal lock was added to my storage and told me to collect the key at the office. When I came to collect the key on 17-Nov-2023, this staff told me he couldn't find any record about my storage unit and doubted I went to the wrong location and wanted to send me away. At the end, I showed him all the emails, UHaul storage rental record and logged into the Uhaul app to show my storage was there, then he figured out there was a problem with his computer. Afterward, he told me the record saying the key was sent to me by FedEx and wanted send me away again. I told him I never receive any key from UHaul. Alsi, I told him that I actually called UHaul regarding this key, and the staff who picked up the call was able to find all my record and told me I can came to pick up the key even in Saturday. After a long conversation, and a long waiting, he finally found my key that keeping in a FedEx envelope in his office. He was very rude throughtout the whole conversation and not willing to solve these matters.

The customer service is excellent, I really enjoyed the 2 young ladies that are typically there in the afternoon, always helpful. The only issue I had was with the mice, when I came to remove my items that had been sitting there for about a year, there were mice droppings and urine all over my items. Other than that, I've always had a great experience with uhaul.

The first truck I was given was blocked in by another truck. I went back in, they preferred to give me a different truck than to move the other. They weren't going to give me new documents but I insisted. I went back out but the new truck had incorrect gas. The papers said 3/4 full but in actuality was 1/4 full. I had to go back in. They promised to update the computer but didn't give me new paperwork. At drop off in Worcester MA i found out that Philly did not update the gas details. Thankfully I had a photo & in Worcester MA they believed me & didn't charge me for the discrepancy. Worcester MA was quick, curteous & helpful

We originally made our reservation for a 10' Truck at the 1015 S 12th St location. We adjusted our reservation to the 314 N 13th St location after realizing our schedule would have us closer to that location at the pick-up time. I looked online, a 10' Truck was available and I updated the reservation. When we arrived, we were told that the 10' Truck was not available and they tried to give us the pick-up truck. After some discussion, we were able to get a 9' Cargo Van. The van needed its oil changed and wasn't big enough for everything that we needed to do. So now we will have to rent again to complete our move. The service at pick-up was very poor, the team wanted to talk amongst themselves more than focus on providing good customer service or addressing our needs and actual reservation. I will for sure rent from the 12th St location next time. This was a disappointing experience that will ultimately cost us time and money now that we have to rent again and set-up a second moving date.

Add more staff during early hours so it's not one person doing everything and multitasking between customers. Because of the back and forth, I lost a half hour of my reserved elevator time at my apartment. Compared to checking in, checking out was a breeze.

I picked up my rental truck after hours using the mobile pickup. When I went to pick up my truck there was clearly damage to the bummer and back doors that made it impossible to open and close the rear doors. Since it was after hours there was no one on site to assist me. I had to use the side door to load stuff in/out which made moving more difficult.

Clean truck. The representative asked me to park the truck in the incorrect lane and leave the key! When I went in to ask why he said there was someone outside who called him N郎 with a hard r. Not sure what that had to do with me returning the truck. I was with my nephew who witnessed the conversation. Very unprofessional behavior. I hope the representative for Uhaul is okay.

Service was great!! The only thing I don't like that much is that I saw some mice droppings in my unit. I saw there's poison around so hopefully they won't touch my stuff, but still not ideal (even though I imagine it must be super difficult to keep them away in such a large old building).

Hello! I've been using my Philadelphia U-Haul storage unit for 13 years; only now could I have been able to go to Philly and pick up my belongings and drive them, 900 miles away, to Chicago. For the entirety of those 13 years: U-Haul has been a wonderful place to stow my belongings. After such a long time, when I opened the unit door: my belongings were completely untouched! I was like I had put them there the day before! I want to give my heartfelt thanks to Javier Maldonado, who manages this location; dealing with him, to enter my unit, to hire a truck, to load up that truck, and to close my unit rent … was a sheer delight! Mr. Maldonado is an example of people doing their work completely, promptly - and with cheerfulness and decorum! I'll say it again, Mr. Maldonado: thank you! With warm regards, Emmett

I paid for climate control and ever time I went to my unit it was extremely hot on that floor. Inside my unit there were mice droppings everywhere. The mice had eaten my yoga mat. I informed the sales rep and all that was said was that I can file a claim. Too many rodents for me to refer a friend. I was afraid that mice would be in my belongings. I will not use that location again.

While the truck was usable, it had awful alignment and clearly needed maintenance. The Interior wasn't awful but should have been cleaned a bit better, there was sticky residue in the cup holders. I've had to use this location twice and the experience with employees is hit or miss, most of my interactions there felt rude or passive aggressive.

I reserved a unit online multiple weeks before storing. When we arrived, the staff told us that they had given away our room and there were no more of the same size. They were not apologetic at all and seemed annoyed with our frustration, as if it was our fault that they gave away the room that we had reserved well in advance. During our time storing I didn't always receive receipts when my card was charged. After the employees switched out our room size when we first arrived they were extremely unclear about how much we were paying. At no point in this process did I ever receive any accurate receipt - my UHaul account online reflects a completely incorrect amount and when we closed the unit they gave us a receipt for $0. I had to go through all of my bank statements from the time we opened the unit to figure out the total cost of the unit; the employees told us to look it up online and offered nothing helpful when my account had no correct information about how much I was charged. I would not recommend UHaul to anyone else. While the storage was secure and clean, the customer service experience was one of the worst I've ever had and all the employees showed a complete disregard for us. It honestly felt like I was being scammed the whole time because of how unclear and uncommunicative all employees were about costs and why they didn't have anything we had already reserved.

Improve you return policy. Staff should document milage and gas levels upon return with the customer to close out reservation.... I was charged for gas when I returned gas on proper level. Staff input gas levels below what I returned it on.

When someone leave their key home it should be a better system in place most locks when come in from one place should have a master key and I know your company has a clip lock tool when people don’t pay their bill or come back your company clip locks poor customer service

I was very unhappy to find out that all the promotion emails I received regarding a free lock and that I was eligible for a "free month of storage" was not applicable. Especially because I called to confirm about the free lock and the representative guaranteed it. Why send emails to get peoples hopes up on the promotions when you have no intention of following through? Seriously disappointed and would like to speak with someone about it. Merci.

It was a frustrating experience. The personnel were not engaged and told me they could not find my reservation and that I was at the wrong location multiple times when that was not the case. The time it took to finally be able to access my storage unit was significant, leading to additional costs to my move in day since I had hired people to help me move items into my storage unit.

I was a one way drive from Georgia to Philadelphia and since I was dropping my truck here I decided to also rent a storage unit at the 13th street location in Philly. I paid for movers to meet me at my unit after my move into my apartment so I needed to be able to check in professionally and effectively. When I made it to the counter I was greeted by Javier who was frazzled and busy. It didn't appear that there was staff to handle the workload and the ones who were there weren't servicing the front counter. As I explained that I was dropping off my truck and that I also had a storage unit at the location that I needed to move in to, instead of getting me set up to fill out any documents and get my key to start moving in, Javier told me to take my truck to the side of the building first then walk back over and get in line again to get my paperwork done because he had other priorities. He was completely rude and unprofessional. I told him I had hired movers and that I was on paid time and he wouldn't do anything until I parked my truck at the loading dock. One had nothing to do with the other since the truck was parked in a legal spot . I asked my partner to fill out my paperwork while I moved the truck. He wouldn't give her the key even when I gave permission and let me leave the premises and then told her he needed my license... Again I filled out everything online and so when I came back, I had to wait in line again to get a key card and the storage number so that I could finally move into my unit. I wanted to give him the key for the truck because the movers already took all the items out and he wouldn't take the key. He wanted me to come back to the front desk after I moved in to hand in the key. So after driving 12+ hours, moving into an apartment, driving in traffic to find a place to park the truck to then move into a storage unit, Javier made it even more difficult by his unprofessional behavior. I'm frustrated that I am giving money to a company that doesn't value their customers. I'm sure that I will move my items to another storage company once I get settled in Philadelphia. The service was unacceptable.

The young woman who helped us was EXCELLENT! The manager, Daniel, was not. The problem we faced together was that the facility had run out of disc locks and the manager Daniel said that Pennsylvania Law required a disc lock on our storage unit. Daniel would not let us purchase a lock to use on the unit. Rather than offer an alternative lock, we were told (1) Not to leave our belongings unlocked, and (2) to go and buy a disc lock at Lowe's. I had called days before to ensure we could purchase a lock. At that time, I was told that there were plenty in stock. U-Haul markets more that three other types of locks in front of the cash registers, but none were allowed for use on the unit. This management solution was not ok. We resolved the situation by negotiating to purchase another lock to put on the unit until we were able to return from Lowe's once a disc lock was purchased, and then returning to lock the unit. I intend to review Pennsylvania Law looking for the specific CFR indicating a disc lock is required. In anticipation of finding there is no such law, I intend to escalate to the State Attorney General escalating the bait-and-switch practices, the Philadelphia Inquirer to share the story, and post a letter to Joe Shoen to make him aware of the issues occurring at the sales counter.

I am not happy however with the change in price as the unit I reserved was not available and I cannot understand why I needed to take insurance? I never have as Honeowners would cover if needed! I tried to call Javier this AM but the wait was too long. Also your terminals were not functioning and it took too much time to accomplish the rental.

The amount of money I payed in late fees due to your employees lack of knowledge when it comes to using their own systems is ridiculous. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. The only competent employee was the gentleman that helped me on my move-out day.

The space is adequate though not 5'x 5' in size The place is well lit Getting into the facility was always challenging regarding the gate and getting staff to open it. The staff was incredibly difficult to work with. Any interaction was delayed and unorganized. - The manager of the space charged me 3x for the same lock and it took 3 months to remove the fee. - I had a gift certificate from uhaul that the manager refused to use on my balance - Overall the staff was indifferent or rude to customers on a regular basis.

There is a section for donations. The sign clearly states Donations. But the store manager came to me n said do not put anything in donations. I asked why, he said because I say so. Wow. So, if u are checking out of your storage, remember this because it was very inconvenient for me to have to find a way to move a dresser and some plastic bins. Very disappointed 

The problem I have with U-Haul Storage is that I was paid up to 12/30/2022 for to storage units. But instead of using the whole month I moved all my things out of both units,on 12/4/2022. The owe me for 26 days, but they claim that their policy is I do not get my reminding balance of my bill. At the time I aquire both units I was never told that if move out early that will not be refunded for the days I did not use. I know that times is hard for everyone, so you think it is right to rip people off that is struggling also; because price of living have gone up you feel it is alright to cheat people out their money. You do not know what situation a person is in,that they my need that extra money for. That is one of the main problem in the world. No caring, no respect, no helping one another, it is all about self and only self. May GOD help us all.

None of the online reservations I made months in advance were honored and the agent went into long detailed explanations 3 times. I ended up not getting what I reserved and the cost was higher. He was also more interested n making life easier for him vs me. It took almost an honor to get all this straightened out and he even suggested I go elsewhere!!!! I've used UHaul for decades and all were perfect. This was atrocious. Why weren't any of my online reservations honored???? Why do you have this kind of person working there, looking to not make life easier for the customer???? I never got any explanation of where I pull my truck in, where the elevators are, how to use the access card, where my storage unit was to be found ither than a highlighted map. I want someone at UHaul to look into this and provide me an apology, explanation and credit for the difference between what I reserved and what I got PLEASE.

The staff were NOT helpful and were rude. I was charged more per month than the reservation I made online (no, not because of taxes). The worker taking care of my contract was wearing inappropriate clothing, input my information wrong on the contract, and charged me for a month I shouldn't have been charged for.

staff seemed upset to have to talk to customers. I waited for 30 minutes to check in (even with an online storage reservation), there was only one person around most of the time. others came in and out and I could hear them using foul language to complain about customers. I booked a floor level unit, but got an upper unit with no apologies. just told "we don't have any more lower units." it is also the wrong dimensions. I specifically booked one that would be big enough to get a bike into straight through, but this one barely fits with the front wheel turned.

I waiting a while before anyone arrived to help check me in for my reservation. However, the process of finishing the storage reservation was easy, and the staff were kind, efficient, and good at multitasking. It seems like they handle a lot with the limited staffing levels. The actual storage facility looks secure, accessible, and very clean. I doubt I'll need them for my purposes, but it's nice to know that I could buy a box for less than $2 if I need it.

I wish I would have gotten the employees name, sadly I didn't but he is not helpful and rude. Would I use this facility again, more than likely if I had to as I would not have to deal with the staff. We waited 15m on line and when it was our turn, the the one person on staff left the store for another 15m. When they came back, they left to have a personal conversation with another employee. They were answering phones on speaker while they were working with us so the process was very slow. They also left to clean a bathroom during the check-in process, delaying it further. It was over an hour before we were able to access the storage unit.

I rented a unit at this same facility in May 2021, but this time was a much worse experience. The old system used codes that could be issued online by uhaul so waiting for location staff wasn't as long. I waited over 45 minutes twice- once when picking up my truck (the staff member disappeared after giving me a short form to fill out) and once when I returned with my belongings to put into the unit. The process required me to fill out additional paperwork so the local staff could enter my information even though I had reserved the unit online. The staff was focused on truck rentals and only one was handling storage units even though there was a long line. Staff clearly didn't want to deal with storage check in process. When I was finally helped they put me in an upper unit even though my reservation was for a lower, and also charged me for a lock after telling them I had one I'd already purchased there. It took 2 more tries to get the lock refunded after more troubles with their system. There is clearly something wrong between the online system and the one they use at the facility, which creates staff and customer frustration. If not for convenient location, I would never consider using uhaul again.

The manager thinks he's God. With simple split-second judgement declared me as living in the storage unit. I am disabled. I had to carry and walk stuff to the unit. I sat on my suitcase, cracked open my typical in-between meals, peanut butter. Right out of the jar. It's what I do. However, to Javier it's a declaration of forbidden behavior and he's the only one allowed that A moments judgement of someone and hebtrys telling me how to conduct myself. I'm a Veteran and hardly need his instructions on that. I dropped the paper he gave me and didn't realize it but Javier the almighty judged once again and was wrong once again tha I've conducted this for spite I guess. That's unnecessary energy spent for no purpose. I had to move an entire locker because Javier said he wasn't letting me back in unless I did so. That is who operates your store. No 72 hours, now or never. Against policy, violation, what's his discipline for obvious breach. Nothing right? He's allowed because he got that locker rented under 72 hrs. Bonus right?

There was too muchFees in fine print on a U-Haul Van Rental. $19,95 van rental cost me about $80 with all the fees and plus putting fuel back in the van. No customer parking.

I was told i was not allowed on the premises in 2018. They locked my storage unit. They changed my door code. I had NO access to my stuff since then. Even AFTER a $900 payment, imI STILL remained LOCKED OUT. I was never given access, i was never notified, i never heard ANYTHING from them. As far as i was concerned, my stuff had already been sold when they had the police called because they thought i was running a business out of the unit, then thought i had hazardous material, then they assumed i was living there. I was locked out of my own stuff. I still paid. And i was still denied access. Disgraceful and will never use U haul EVER AGAIN

The loading dock is a bit small. I had a moving company move my storage items to a new apartment, and there wasn't enough room for them load the items quickly.

1)Reserved storage unit wasn't available. I got a smaller one temporarily with a promise that larger one will become available and someone would notify me. That never happened. 2) On the first visit after office hours entry was not granted to the building. Other people were going in without problems but I couldn't. I had a full car of things to unload. Despite numerous calls nobody assisted and I had to use another storage unit in NJ. Office worker had to do something day later to fix the system to make sure my access is working. 3) On the first month automatic payment didn't go through and I was charged late fee. All information provided for the payment was accurate (I took screenshots). I asked for more details so that I can clear it up with the bank but I never got any answer from U-Haul. Also, there was no notification that my payment was rejected. System notification was sent days later when late fee was applied. 4) office staff (not the manager) was actually helpful, but system failed on all other places

I filed a claim for damages to my furniture and still haven't got the issue resolved due to a leak, and now it's being said there was no leak which is a lie I have photos of the damages and the assistant manager saw the damages, I would not recommend this facility to anyone, the insurance they use is a joke, the assistant manager Angel offered some throw blankets for the furniture which didn't help much at no fault of hers and I did appreciate it, As for the manager he never called or reached out in any way after he was emailed. If you value your items don't store them here, i will be posting photos of damaged items on social media

I did not have a bad experience but the storage units were extremely humid and dirty. The first one they tried to give us smelled like dead animal. They didn't even check the unit before assigning it. We only rented for a few weeks and immediately searched for a new storage place

Everything went very smoothly until I actually needed to use my unit. Access hours are clearly marked as 5am to 10pm. I showed up at 8pm and GUESS WHAT??? It's apparently not access hours! I don't care if your access hours are only 4 hours a day… LABEL YOUR HOURS CORRECTLY! I can't think of anything more aggravating. Now I have to wake up at 5am the next day to see if I can even get in, since your hours aren't accurate. Incredibly stressful. Fix that, and it would be awesome.

I've used this storage locker multiple times in the past and always had incredibly positive experiences until yesterday. Off the bat, the woman assisting me was irritated and distracted while chatting on facetime. She then said she couldn't assist me because they were closing, despite it being 40 minutes before closing. I had to insist to at the very least get my key card and unit #. Additionally, the online hours for this facility say office hours go until 8pm and storage access until 10pm. But I was told I'm not allowed to go anytime after office hours, which apparently are until 7pm. Some clarity online or amongst staff would be much appreciated if I'm going to continue using this facility.

uhaul is a scam i got a one way truck specifically so i could get first months rent free on a storage locker but when i arrived they told me it only it valid if you drop you truck at the same place where the locker is why was the not mad apparent on the website?? i had to pick up a truck all the way in NJ when i’m from PA just to end up having to spend $60 more dollars then expected

I made an online reservation and activated my account at the storage site on May 8th,2021. The staff I opened my account with were friendly and respectful. She communicated to me the difference between UHaul's office hours and access hours. I understood the storage unit access hours were until 10PM. On June 26,2021 I arrived at the loading dock around 6:50PM, and was told to leave the building by the staff working that day. They stated only businesses had access to the storage unit 24/7. They were rude and unprofessional. We waited outside for two hours trying to figure out why we didn't have access until 10PM. It was extremely stressful as we came from CT to access the storage unit. We called UHaul's and they informed us we should be able to access the storage unit prior to 10PM. On July 10,2021 I closed the account unit I had open. The same staff who I interacted with in June closed my account. While I was leaving the elevator I witness a UHaul's woman employee being a Hennessy alcoholic bottle from her car (that was parked inside were the Uhaul vehicles are) to the front desk where she was working.

My reservation was not ready when I got there after reserving it 4 days prior. The staff didn't give me any explanation and then told me they could retrack my "reservation", after I was already frustrated for standing there with no answers for over 20 mins. I was told I could use my own lock then they told me I couldn't agree I got there wasting $30 on a lock. They also tried to charge me an extra $30 a month more than originally quoted.

The Associate Sunday (male) was very helpful, knowledgeable and helped me with closing my unit. The overall condition of the unit was dirty and disgusting. Made a reservation for a storage unit but was told, when I arrived, that the size was not available. I was offered a smaller sIze of unit. Apparently this is common. This is not the correct use of the word "reservation" and meant I could have ended up in a situation where I had nowhere to put my things. Had an issue where I called to see when I could access my unit (was told until 10pm) but turns out it was only until 8pm. I couldn't get in. If I had had a flight or something the next day it could have been bad, but luckily I could come back the next day. Manager was kind to offer me credit for the inconvenience (although I have not seen it yet).

When it was time to vacate i had forgotten my key. The general manager said he couldn't cut the lock that I had to find a licensed locksmith and that person had to show proof of insurance. That's all well and good for Uhaul to protect from liability, but its a bloody nuisance for the customer. I drove almost 70 miles from NJ and had to wait for an 1 1/2 before I could locate one with the requisite documentation. Why is this my problem . Partner up with your local licensed locksmith or hire them per-deim . I'm sure many customers forget their key or lose it so it was anticipated but not adequately handled. I left U haul really frustrated.

After an apartment fire in central Philadelphia, we had an emergency need for a large locker, and a truck to move furniture and belongings into storage. This UHaul location made the job (relatively) easy, and when we were ready to move everything out, to a new place the staff were friendly and efficient. Understand this is a center-city facility; a repurposed early 20th century factory building. It's not a purpose-built modern building. But the storage area is properly climate controlled, and well-lit in the storage area. The freight elevators are slow, but large and easily accessible. There are adequate carts for moving goods between trucks and lockers. Doors and elevators require either access codes or magnetic cards (user's choice), so security is pretty strong. This UHaul location has my strong endorsement.

A mistake from the truck pick-up location in St. Louis, I was dispatched to the wrong location in Philly: with the storage unit at one place and truck drop off at another. After a stressful move, 3 days of driving, during a global pandemic, losing time driving to the wrong location in a city I didn't know, and then showing up without the storage reservation with only 2 hours to unload by myself, I nearly broke down in the lobby once I realized the dispatch mistake. Tears were welling. Precious was behind the counter watching all this happen. She immediately stepped in, asked if I needed water, got me a unit and assured me everything would be okay. Without a doubt, Precious was the person I needed in that moment in time. Beyond stellar customer service, she showed me how Philly gets it done. The billing was easy and was notified of each payment. We found out when we went to remove our belongings, the storage unit I paid for was not the storage unit the items were in. A lock was added to our unit stating we owed for several months. The lady who assisted us told us she needed to find her phone and then she would remove the lock added to the wrong unit. It was very frustrating we were not treated as a valued customer. We had to get another employee to help us since the previous person was too busy finding her phone. She also deactivated our key so we couldn't get in the elevator until another employee noticed we needed help and assisted us. We also heard her yelling with the customer before us. It was very uncomfortable and I felt bad for the customer.

The only Reason that I do not give an excellent Rating is that I had to go back to the facility the next day to close my contract. By that time they already charged me an extra month. The people in store solved it with no hesitance, but I had to go back to the store. I was lucky I decided to stay in Philadelphia for an extra day. If not, I could have not done the reclamation.

As a result of the mix-up, my family began unpacking only to find out that the unit was too small & there were no large units to accommodate us. The worst experience ever. The staff provide little help and was really rude. I won't choose this place ever.

I only needed the storage facility for a short time, however in that time the staff was accommodating and helpful. There are no issues to report. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Everytime I call - I am asked to be placed in a hole and the hold will last for about 20 mins. At the actual store front- the clerks are not very friendly or helpful. The only positive is the location

Very helpful and courteous. Wasn't happy that I asked for 3rd floor and was placed on the 8th floor where I was told was air conditioning but it's just as hot there and charged $5 more a month for it.
