Joaquin WeldonI arrived to pick up my rental and could not find Toby, the manager, inside the place. Others were also waiting. I decided to walk outside to see if maybe he was checking on a rental return/pickup. I found him outside on the side of the building kinda towards the back. He was on speaker phone arguing with his girlfriend. They were cussing a lot back and forth. I walked towards him and said "you think you might want to come check us out?" He said "sorry", got off the phone and came inside to take care of all who were waiting. Once he finished with everyone, he proceeded to return outside and resume his phone conversation. He did not walk me to the vehicle, nor did he do any walk around to inspect the condition of the rental. He handed me the keys, pointed to where it was parked in the lot and that was all. The truck was dirty when I received it. I think it was very unprofessional of Toby to be on a personal phone call (especially cussing on speaker phone with the person on the other end) during business hours.
Shane BoullionI had a reservation for a 15' truck, but was told that it wasn't available. That's not what a reservation is… nothing was actually reserved. I was treated like I was in line for a 15' truck but yall ran out. Except you didn't run out. I saw 15' trucks everywhere. Yall just only wanted them used locally. I'll never use uhaul again I don't suspect. How terrible to find out the day before traveling across the country, that your reserved truck does not exist. Poor service.

Bill ScannellToby Anders is incredibly customer friendly. He greets you when you arrive and helps with the poorly designed app for check in as cell signal is terribly poor in this area for AT&T (had barely a bar) and this apparently is the new future defined by U-Haul. I am not at all impressed with the app experience. I checked in in advance and upon arrival had to check in yet a second time and had to walk outside just to get a cell signal. Message to corporate U-Haul, I encourage you to really understand your full operational environment before deploying such apps to save cost. If it wasn't for Toby, I would have left and went to Penske to rent.

Evan Rose | Expérience généraleThis was fun. I originally estimated I would drive the rental truck 14 miles for a subtotal around $30. When I returned the truck, I later saw a charge for about $65. This location doesn't give receipts by email until well after the fact, by the way, and the final receipt never showed what this doubled charge was for. Upon disputing the charge with my credit card, U Haul provided them a great receipt with the charges and supposed fuel level I returned the truck at and my credit card rejected my dispute. Unfortunately for U Haul, I have before and after pictures of the dash demonstrating that the fuel level of the truck I returned is of course higher than what U Haul says I returned it at. Althorn I submitted this with my original credit dispute, I look forward to chatting with them on the phone about why I should be charged 4 gallons of of gas for going 12 miles, especially when my picture of the dash shows I returned the truck at a higher fuel level than U Haul claims I did.
Danny HalimToby did a great job helping me check in. After scheduling an online reservation I was unaware that I had to download some app and use this when I arrived vs checking in at the counter. Unfortunately, I only had a half a bar on my cell phone making it nearly impossible to use the app. I strongly encourage you implementing strong wi-fi and such so that a customer has the ability actually use the app in your store. Or at least permit a counter check-in when situations like this arise.

For future U-Haul needs, I will do in person and not do it via the app. This is coming from someone who is very tech, savvy and pro doing things without human interaction.

Absolutely no other customers there - and yet he seemed very distracted and explained almost nothing of the process to access my unit. Had to walk myself there, had to figure out the access code check in, had to cut the green "ready for move in" tag myself, which I wasn't prepared for. Without knowing about the check in code process, my son and I set the alarm off twice before realizing we had done something wrong. Very disappointing experience.
Jason Burns | Online Move InThe containers had Rats inside and were bitten by spiders. Rotting floors with holes allow rodents and other creatures to get in. It had a rat trap placed inside our unit when we did not know, and rat feces was seen throughout. And then when I told the staff they said, " Yeah That's why were raising the rates to get new containers. We immediately cleared out our unit and were told there was no proration even though we just paid the rent.

No issues except we couldn't get help getting the lock off because it had rusted and in trying to get it off, the key broke in the lock. We had one other issue; tried to get into storage unit - called and were told we could access up until a certain time; we arrived with a moving van and were not able to access. It was an outside unit but area was blocked.

Then we were charged additional mileage on our truck rental when we had to relocate to another facility. I had originally booked a first floor (larger) unit and they tried to assign me a second floor smaller unit with no elevator/lift to move my belongings. They did not tell me it was a second floor until the guy walked me back. I had called the number listed under my reservation for Poway to confirm the day before. When I asked why they didn't have my reservation the guy told me that I should have called his location directly. I called the number listed in my confirmation email under Poway!!!! It was a very frustrating situation to deal with in the rain and then to get an additional charge for mileage after having to scramble for another location to was not ideal! I would not recommend the Poway location! Nobody there was helpful or easy to deal with.

The only concern I had and it is a small one is that the area my unit was in felt much warmer than the first area you walked into in the storage complex. I chose the climate controlled storage as I was storing antique dolls and some photographs and VHS tapes. I don't think anything was affected but I have not yet unpacked it all. On my moving out day Everything appeared to be fine except when my daughter found mouse droppings on my plastic tubs and on the floor of the unit. How long did this mouse live there before someone put a mouse trap in the unit? The worse thing is that the dead mouse is in one of my boxes! I took a picture of it if you need proof. I called the health department on my experience with your storage unit. It was documented. Since you have so many units why aren't the mouse traps or mouse poison checked on a regular basis? I have rented units for years and this has NEVER happened before. I have to throw out some items because I don't know how long the mouse lived in my unit. The unit should be prorated for July and I should receive a refund for the days that I did not use it. I am just glad I moved out my things when I did. I am very disappointed with the experience that your establishment provided and I will pass on my experience to others.
MARIA AMARO | Expérience généraleI made an online reservation for a 7x20x6 Vanbody, but when I arrived to the storage facility, the manager said that he could not find my reservation in the system. He showed me a much smaller 7x14 unit and said that was all he had or I could try searching for a self-storage facility in the area. I drove all the way from Maryland only to be told "good luck". In the end, the manager was able to rent me a 7x26 storage unit only because a reservation was canceled at the last minute. I had the whole move and storage planned weeks in advance and am frustrated with the nonchalant response of the manager. I also want to know why my reservation did not show up in the system even though I received an email confirmation.

Also it would be a bit more convenient since it is key code entry to have the hours be 24/7 for storage units. There's cameras for security so I don't see why not
