When I got the uhaul truck from this facility I got in the truck to drive to pick up the car transport from a departure facility less than half a mile away. By the time I got there the check tire pressure light was on. I went back to the first place and told the man there that the light came on and he immediately went to the tire that was having the problem without asking me which one it was. He knew already out of the 4 tires which was having a problem! I told him I didn't feel comfortable taking the truck since I had over 500 miles to drive and I didn't want to break down. He also said you can cancel your reservation and try to get another truck but he didn't have any and when I was initially reserving the truck they didn't have any in a 50 mile radius. We were moving my son from San Diego to the Bay Area, so we took the truck after he added air to the tire. He said it will be fine, don't worry. We didn't even make it an hour or if San Diego before we had to stop to fill the same tire. Then by the time we hit the outside of LA we had to stop again! At that point I called the Uhaul roadside assistance and told them what was going on. To add insult to injury, the air conditioning only blew hot air, no air conditioning at all, in the entire trip. They asked do you want a new truck, but we had already loaded the one we had and had the car transport trailer hitched up. I said no, we will just drive with the windows down. That was the longest 500 miles I've ever driven. I do have to say, the customer service lady who I spoke to was gracious and very concerned for us. She was the only bright spot in the entire trip. I would give the guy at the Poway Station a big 2 thumbs down, while I'd give the customer service rep a big 2 thumbs up!

With the initial bill of $95, I was then charged with $200 - great, what can I say. I was charged with fuel service, when I know we triple checked it was exactly what it was before we got the truck.

Making a reservation was easy, check in went quickly, staff was very helpful in hooking up my trailer, and the equipment was in first-class working condition.

When I returned my equipment the worker refused to do a check in with me then charged me a cleaning fee. I am dissatisfied and will actively work to prevent others from using uhaul. Please contact me to address my concerns 559-361-2953.

I arrived to pick up my rental and could not find Toby, the manager, inside the place. Others were also waiting. I decided to walk outside to see if maybe he was checking on a rental return/pickup. I found him outside on the side of the building kinda towards the back. He was on speaker phone arguing with his girlfriend. They were cussing a lot back and forth. I walked towards him and said "you think you might want to come check us out?" He said "sorry", got off the phone and came inside to take care of all who were waiting. Once he finished with everyone, he proceeded to return outside and resume his phone conversation. He did not walk me to the vehicle, nor did he do any walk around to inspect the condition of the rental. He handed me the keys, pointed to where it was parked in the lot and that was all. The truck was dirty when I received it. I think it was very unprofessional of Toby to be on a personal phone call (especially cussing on speaker phone with the person on the other end) during business hours.

I had a reservation for a 15' truck, but was told that it wasn't available. That's not what a reservation is… nothing was actually reserved. I was treated like I was in line for a 15' truck but yall ran out. Except you didn't run out. I saw 15' trucks everywhere. Yall just only wanted them used locally. I'll never use uhaul again I don't suspect. How terrible to find out the day before traveling across the country, that your reserved truck does not exist. Poor service.

There was only one of your employees there (who did a decent job with the amount of people he had to serve). It took me an hour and half to pick up a rental van. So did it for tens of other people. This was my worst rental experience.

I had reserved a large trailer for a one-way move. I realized it was much larger than I needed, so they were able to modify my rental to a smaller size without any difficulty whatsoever.

Toby Anders is incredibly customer friendly. He greets you when you arrive and helps with the poorly designed app for check in as cell signal is terribly poor in this area for AT&T (had barely a bar) and this apparently is the new future defined by U-Haul. I am not at all impressed with the app experience. I checked in in advance and upon arrival had to check in yet a second time and had to walk outside just to get a cell signal. Message to corporate U-Haul, I encourage you to really understand your full operational environment before deploying such apps to save cost. If it wasn't for Toby, I would have left and went to Penske to rent.

This was fun. I originally estimated I would drive the rental truck 14 miles for a subtotal around $30. When I returned the truck, I later saw a charge for about $65. This location doesn't give receipts by email until well after the fact, by the way, and the final receipt never showed what this doubled charge was for. Upon disputing the charge with my credit card, U Haul provided them a great receipt with the charges and supposed fuel level I returned the truck at and my credit card rejected my dispute. Unfortunately for U Haul, I have before and after pictures of the dash demonstrating that the fuel level of the truck I returned is of course higher than what U Haul says I returned it at. Althorn I submitted this with my original credit dispute, I look forward to chatting with them on the phone about why I should be charged 4 gallons of of gas for going 12 miles, especially when my picture of the dash shows I returned the truck at a higher fuel level than U Haul claims I did.

Toby did a great job helping me check in. After scheduling an online reservation I was unaware that I had to download some app and use this when I arrived vs checking in at the counter. Unfortunately, I only had a half a bar on my cell phone making it nearly impossible to use the app. I strongly encourage you implementing strong wi-fi and such so that a customer has the ability actually use the app in your store. Or at least permit a counter check-in when situations like this arise.

Checked in with the front desk at that location. Absolutely no other customers there - and yet he seemed very distracted and explained almost nothing of the process to access my unit. Had to walk myself there, had to figure out the access code check in, had to cut the green "ready for move in" tag myself, which I wasn't prepared for. Without knowing about the check in code process, my son and I set the alarm off twice before realizing we had done something wrong. Very disappointing experience.

The containers had Rats inside and were bitten by spiders. Rotting floors with holes allow rodents and other creatures to get in. It had a rat trap placed inside our unit when we did not know, and rat feces was seen throughout. And then when I told the staff they said, " Yeah That's why were raising the rates to get new containers. We immediately cleared out our unit and were told there was no proration even though we just paid the rent.

The owner was friendly and cheerful but he appeared to be trying to do 10 things at once. He had to close early for a personal matter so I had some issues dropping off the trailer. I would definitely use this site again but he should find a backup for when he's called away

Personal were excellent. Reason I would not recommend this facility is the flooring in entrance. Tile is not smooth, super bumpy. Hard to transport items to unit. Have 2 units at 2 other facilities. Access them daily for my buisness and transport 1-2 carts. Never an issue with items falling off over and over. Frustrating

We've had storage at U-Haul for more than 20 years did not just move in. I did recently, however, visit the facility. No issues except we couldn't get help getting the lock off because it had rusted and in trying to get it off, the key broke in the lock. We had one other issue; tried to get into storage unit - called and were told we could access up until a certain time; we arrived with a moving van and were not able to access. It was an outside unit but area was blocked.

They messed up my reservation and I had to find a facility last minute with a truck full of all my belongings. Then we were charged additional mileage on our truck rental when we had to relocate to another facility. I had originally booked a first floor (larger) unit and they tried to assign me a second floor smaller unit with no elevator/lift to move my belongings. They did not tell me it was a second floor until the guy walked me back. I had called the number listed under my reservation for Poway to confirm the day before. When I asked why they didn't have my reservation the guy told me that I should have called his location directly. I called the number listed in my confirmation email under Poway!!!! It was a very frustrating situation to deal with in the rain and then to get an additional charge for mileage after having to scramble for another location to was not ideal! I would not recommend the Poway location! Nobody there was helpful or easy to deal with.

I was told that my U-boxes would be delivered to the Poway location and that they boxes would be moved inside their "gates" and when I called to follow up on another issue, I find that they are at another address and that the U-boxes would have to be picked up from there. This is a nightmare! No clear communication. Can't get on the website. Transferred on the phone multiple times. A MESS! Can't figure out why my U-boxes can't be delivered where I want them in the first place!!

When I made the reservations I Was reassured bueno staff member that the unit with the best location would be mine on Saturday when I came to move in. However, a different staff member told me that unit was already reserved. I was very disappointed. The unit I ended up getting had broken tile inside and a pipe in the back.

It was clean and well maintained. The only concern I had and it is a small one is that the area my unit was in felt much warmer than the first area you walked into in the storage complex. I chose the climate controlled storage as I was storing antique dolls and some photographs and VHS tapes. I don't think anything was affected but I have not yet unpacked it all. Overall it was a great experience for my first time ever having to use a storage facility. Merci

People at desk weren't helpful. When I returned the truck several people arrived at the same time. Customer service rep said loudly "Jesus Christ does everyone have to come at the same time." Girl that helped in the AM wasn't too friendly and appeared sick…stuffy and coughing. Other locations are better.

This location is great. The storage is a bit unique - they're individual containers on the ground in a big lot (vs a big building with storage units). But it's clean & the staff is super friendly, and it was really easy to back up our truck and unload all our stuff.

I called for three days and nobody would answer my call so I finally drove to Poway to check on my storage unit. On my moving out day Everything appeared to be fine except when my daughter found mouse droppings on my plastic tubs and on the floor of the unit. How long did this mouse live there before someone put a mouse trap in the unit? The worse thing is that the dead mouse is in one of my boxes! I took a picture of it if you need proof. I called the health department on my experience with your storage unit. It was documented. Since you have so many units why aren't the mouse traps or mouse poison checked on a regular basis? I have rented units for years and this has NEVER happened before. I have to throw out some items because I don't know how long the mouse lived in my unit. The unit should be prorated for July and I should receive a refund for the days that I did not use it. I am just glad I moved out my things when I did. I am very disappointed with the experience that your establishment provided and I will pass on my experience to others.

I made an online reservation for a 7x20x6 Vanbody, but when I arrived to the storage facility, the manager said that he could not find my reservation in the system. He showed me a much smaller 7x14 unit and said that was all he had or I could try searching for a self-storage facility in the area. I drove all the way from Maryland only to be told "good luck". In the end, the manager was able to rent me a 7x26 storage unit only because a reservation was canceled at the last minute. I had the whole move and storage planned weeks in advance and am frustrated with the nonchalant response of the manager. I also want to know why my reservation did not show up in the system even though I received an email confirmation.

I love the facility however the parking is very minimal. I went at night so had no issue but I can't imagine trying to unload in the daytime. Also it would be a bit more convenient since it is key code entry to have the hours be 24/7 for storage units. There's cameras for security so I don't see why not

The location while good off of POWAY, but the parking is difficult because the location is very busy. The overall feel of the storage area is dirty/ old. The staff for the most part were friendly but not consistently so.

Needed my books and as a result moved the boxes out of U-Haul storage, otherwise would stay as a client. If I need the storage, will return. Thank you, thank you. I came to the uhaul September of 2017 after being put out by an ex. The people there were super helpful, empathetic and understanding. I got a unit that day with no problem. Uhaul Poway really saved me that day. Keep in mind this was a Sunday when everything else was closed. There's an older white gentlemen there with glasses that rented me the storage. He was always nice and helpful. Thank you again. I will definitely use you again if needed.

During this covid pandemic, I have not been able to be in the country during my move in and with a mixup with the container I am renting. Both times I have called the store, I have worked with Toby over the phone. He delivers awesome service and has helped me to resolve all my issues each time. I can't say good enough things about how awesome Toby is, and I really appreciate his willingness to listen to my problems, willingness to proactively solve my issues, and empathy. In the future, I will certainly use UHaul for all of my storage needs. Thank you guys!

Staff did not offer to refund the portion of my month's rent for the time that the unit will be vacated. Most storage facilities provide a pro-rated refund but U-Haul did not. If it had, my rating would be higher.

Only recommendation is available parking if you go peak hours daytime have to wait for an open spot. Not sure you can improve since it's a tiny parking lot with ?2 handicap spots and 2 regular car parking spot

We are sure your records of the problems with this rental are recorded by your road side dept and customer service. It was terrible. We think there should have been a reduction in the rental.

Converted old UHauls were made into storage units AND they leaked all over our mattresses and more; and caused Black Mold to grow. This was an absolute horrible experience and I will never recommend.

Excellent service on both ends of the MA to So CA move. No damage on shipment either. Movers unloading were great but Movinghelp.com is so-so. Pricing changed. U-Box and U-Haul did great by me.
