It would be nice if the personnel that rent the trucks would take the time to check out each vehicle to ensure that the tires were in a safe working condition so that the customer would not have to go through the circumstances that I and my family had too! It would be nice if someone from corporate would contact me and maybe give me back a refund for the trouble that we went through. In addition, I was asked to tow a trailer back to the location that I was traveling to and had to go to another location from where I picked up the truck. When I got to that location, the trailer was not there! Someone called me the next day and told me the trailer was available but the truck was still being loaded and in a location some 40 miles away.

John BlaggWe agreed to do a pick up for a U box and drove 2,5 hours out of the way $120 in gas (they said we would be compensated $600. We got to Elk Grove and they claimed the box was cancelled. I let Uhaul know and they said they could only compensate me $150. Basically I lost time and money for nothing.

MICHAEL LANEOver the years I've had this Uhaul location install both hitches and electrical, and was very happy with the service. Sadly, this most recent experience/s were horrible. Back in November I was scheduled for a hitch and electrical install on my Chevy Bolt EV on 12/5/23. After dropping my car off, I was contacted later that day and was told that the hitch that arrived at their facility was for a Chevy Bolt EUV, and that one for the Bolt EV wasn't available. When I returned to pick up my car, I informed the supervisor that the Uhaul website advertised a hitch for the Bolt EV. When he looked, there it was. So the whole process started over, and I wasn't able to have the installation done until 12/15/23. The estimate for the original install was $333.58. The new install turned out to be $816.68. After the install was complete, and I drove the car home, I learned that the hitch was askew, enough so that anything being towed would be at enough of an angle to burn out the wheel bearings. I don't feel that there is enough expertise at the Ukiah Uhaul to remedy this, and I really don't care to hear more apologies. I'll be taking my car to a machine shop and spend yet more money, but at least there's a better chance that the hitch will be properly aligned.

Average is relative to what I have come to expect from this location.
Bonnie LockhartVery standoff service .... I wasn't walked out to the uhaul and shown it's condition. I was told to match my key to the sign on the uhaul with no assistance. No one opened the back or explained it would need a cleaning before returning.
Ashley FaustThere's really no way to improve. The service was top notch, very friendly, kind and helpful. I was able to check in on line which made pick up very quick and easy (love that feature) When I returned the truck they were waiting for me in the return area...how he knew I was approaching I'm not sure, but everything was just so seemless. I use our local U-Haul whenever I need to get heavy furniture moved, do dump runs or for those impulse buys that won't fit in the car! lol It's a reasonable price to rent for the day for a few hours. I've used U-Haul in the past for moving from house to house as well. Highly recommend the Ukiah U-Haul!

billy carmanUhaul in KC installed my hitch and wiring. My wiring was broken when I went to get a trailer in ukiah. Uhaul ukiah could not fix uhaul KC wiring job. Uhaul should be able to fix their own work. Moreover, the relay plug that was broken was a recalled part by uhaul. With uhaul written on the part. Anyway, I had to pay a 3rd party to fix uhauls own wiring job and was never compensated for the recalled part either.

Steve KimbleDidn't appreciate employees approach after we drove 10 hours in the rain; we were super tired, stressed and anxious as it was. Employee said we were late, even though we arrived 15 min prior to closing. So he went ahead and charged us for an extra day, even though we were not late. Employees seemed more concerned about going home, even made a comment about it. Then we were accused of delivering the trailer with a flat tire, however we had just driven it there towing our truck, we'd notice if there was a flat tire AND would have said something if there was. Didn't like or appreciate the entire U-Haul experience, will never use again.

Thomas WintersU-Haul store staff were friendly, but ultimately could not provide assistance, and directed me to the website to complete my purchase. At my destination, I was given a window of delivery from 1:30-3:30 and my U-box wasn't even picked up from Marietta, a 45 minute drive, until 3:45. It was very frustrating to have movers on site and ready to unload based on U-Haul's promised delivery time and having to make them wait.

Every person at this location was so very nice, and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. I can honestly say I have never received service when I truly felt that every one of the employees actually cared l, and they all went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The people working at this location were beyond amazing. I can't explain how pleasant the whole experience was. I hope the company knows what an awesome crew they have. Thank you and I will be back to have my tow bar installed very soon, and will recommend this location to everyone.

Fernanda PermenterIf someone makes a reservation for a set time to pick up a truck, please make sure that there are enough staff to help at the counter. We were in a hurry. Other than that, the staff are friendly and helpful. The place was clean and organized. I highly recommend this place!
Heidi ValleThe truck ran fine and was in good condition. However, the windshield was very dirty with bug spatter when I picked it up, and it was a bit annoying that the fuel was only at 3/4 of a tank. I would have appreciated a clean windshield and not having to stop for gas as soon as I did. Otherwise the service people were nice and I got checked in quickly.

Robben VikartWent to this Uhaul to have a hitch installed and time was inessance. The folks at this location were excellent. I had an 11am appointment...I went to the the facility to confirm the hitch installed. They confirmed and left. I got a call some 20 minutes later I got a call stating where i was told they unfortunately had double booked and asked if could arrive at 7AM the next. Which I took. Arrived the next morning to have the work done and was told it taken some time... possibly 3 hours. I get a call within the hour telling they had finished. I was stunned at how quickly the install was completed. I impressed by the everyone working there. They were polite and quick. In closing a great crew....

I think Ukiah branch is short staffed and at end of service we ended up being handed a bike rack box to put together ourselves because no staff to do it. We would like credit of four bill for this inconvenience. Thank u.

Karen SwerczekWith all of the 26 foot U-Hauls parked near the after hours entrance, you could not access the units to get things in and out because they blocked all but a 2 ft path. The latch that the lock attached to felt like it would come off with an easy tug. The doors were also made of super light weight material and would break if someone kicked it.

MICHAEL CHAPMAN | Premières impressionsI have typically had a great experience with U-Haul. Both for vehicle rentals and storage units. I had some issues with both at this location. 1) due to circumstances beyond my control, I showed up with my rental truck to place my belongings in a storage and return my truck. Little did I know, when I arrived at the hours staff were on site to unload, there was no elevator to get upstairs. In addition, I was provided the smallest unit for my free month even though I asked staff if a larger unit was available. I was told there was not (but I could clearly see units unused, and remained unused during the duration I stored my belongings there). I believe they did not want to give me a larger unit for my free month. I've never experienced this before. And because I had a very full truck, it took me almost 2 hours longer than expected walking heavy boxes up stairs and trying to make everything fit in my tiny unit. I returned my truck and was charged an entire additional day! Even though I saw the truck I returned was not critically needed seeing as their lot has ample numbers of 10 foot trucks...and mine sat around for quite some time, unused! I requested a refund, and was refused. Again, very disappointed. U-Haul typically has been very accommodating...but this rental experience was the worst I've had. I was never provided a card to access the building and was never made aware in my coming and going, that it was typically offered. I wasn't aware that technology was on site until another guest was curious why I was waiting for the staff to arrive and unlock! I then obtained one. Upon my renting the unit, it should have been offered as part of my perks. To have longer access hours. The staff...David, the General manager, was kind and accommodating. Most of the staff were friendly enough, but several of them do a lot of sitting around when the property could have been attended to for cleanliness, such as vacuuming. David was always busy and worked very long hours, while most of his staff sat around looking bored. I appreciate the kindness David extended, for reasons I won't go into. He knows what I'm referring to, and it won't be forgotten. But the above issues were my experience and observations in truth, and I honestly hope I never have to use this location for rental purposes again. I wasn't going to respond to the request for feedback, but this morning I had about 4 more requests to do so...so, here you go. Not what you were probably hoping for.

At times the lot was so full of rental vehicles that it was difficult to find a parking place. I do understand that there is likely no solution for this as the U-Haul lot has limited space.

We were forced to extend another month when we drove over 2 hours to empty it and the key pad code was not working, again. Extremely inconvenient to have a storage unit you can't access as you please, especially when it's two hours from where you live.
