I have been renting.with U-Haul.for over 10 yrs and never received a rental that wash in need of a cleaning as the one I had yesterday 3/27/24. Don't know when it last recd a car wash the van itself really needed one and inside seats had animal hair on them , could've used a good vacuuming and the cab windows on the inside all needed to get washed. I am very short and was very pressed for time or I truly would have taken the van to Delta Sonic for the car wash and done the windows inside!! It's just that I've never had a rental that I found needing that done ever before!! The staff was wonderful and very efficient and most helpful. Merci

U Haul in W Irondequoit- top notch. Lake Ave location- the only term is absolutely shitty service.
Aida HernandezEquipment pick up, went smooth and easy, and your representative was very professional. Equipment return was the exact opposite. I waited in the truck like the sign posted said after about 10 minutes I went inside since nobody came out to meet me once inside of your employees was diligently working to try and help customer. Another one was going back-and-forth between his phone and his Beets that were on his head. finally, a third employee emerged from somewhere, to be honest, he looked to be just waking up from a nap. I'll assume that the individual that I rented the equipment from was the shift manager, and since they weren't around at that time, the rest of the employees just decided to not do anything. It's frustrating when you get done with the move and you're tired and just wanna get home that you have to put up with this unprofessionalism.

Gerard FisherThe truck had unmarked damage, two different warning messages came up soon starting, and the steering wheel was at a 45 degree angle to the left when driving straight ahead. The location had only 18 blankets (half what we ordered) and the drop-off location was changed by UHaul from Victor to Macedon without asking me... necessitating a call to 800 to change it back.
Edward KnaufI spoke with an employee concerning moving from storage a day or two after the contract date. I was told I would have a few days grace period. The contract date was Jan. 1. I returned on the 4th and was charged $94. That is more than half a month rent for 3 days. They called it a settlement fee.

dennis manning | Expérience généraleI registered on line to rent a truck for an afternoon for less than 30 miles. I included furniture pads because the sole reason for renting the truck was to move i barrister bookcase. When I drove off the lot I realize the furniture pads I had requested and reserved were not provided. I decided to just pick up the piece of furniture and ask for the cost of the furniture pads to be removed from my bill . I returned the vehicle with $15 of fuel, more than was necessary but better safe than sorry. I spoke to the woman at the counter about the missing furniture pads and she said I quote "I will have that charge removed from your bill" unquote. Several days passed and I check my bill from U haul on line and saw that I was charged for the missing furniture pads? You can check the security cameras at the counter and they will definitively show that I did not receive the furniture pads nor did I take them from the store???? I went on line and explained that the furniture pads were not received and I was told by the employee that "The charge would be removed from my bill. Lying to a customer, padding the bill of a customer is Bad Business. I cannot recommend U haul and will have to find another company to rent moving vehicles from. Very disappointing.

Amanda JacksonOne of the straps on the tie down was broken and a makeshift one was added in place. Once i hooked up the trailer, the attendant took a picture of the set up and that was all. He did not perform a light check or double check that the chains were hooked up correctly. The attendant did not go over the contract with me.
Myles MarshallI believe I was told that it didn't matter what time I returned my U-Haul, as that location would be closed for the day when my rental period had ended. I was not informed by the attendant that I would be charged for an additional day if it were late. All things considered that makes sense. However, with the stress of moving I wasn't thinking about the fact that there would be the additional charge. I would have appreciated being verbally informed that returning it late would add an additional day's use charge to the total

Reason saying example : if I buy boxes and not need them all and want to return them in the middle of packing and moving I lost my receipt but can't return the boxes.. Michael GaebelGood experience until I tried returning the truck. I rent cars with Hertz and Avis 20 times a year, the Uhaul self return is extremely difficult and long. It took 40 minutes to work and I never got confirmation. Catch up with the rent industry on this. Horrible self return process. Two other people were having the same issue.

Stacey MitchumThis was horrible!! The van we first got was disgusting! There was dirt everywhere, it looked like it was never cleaned ! It had dead and live roaches!! It didn't even have a liner on it. I went out of my way and got raid fussers and put it in for a couple of hours. It did not work! When I saw the roach running around while I was cleaning the van even after doing the raid I had enough and took it back to the location. Cause of all this I was so behind on my move and situation. Thankfully the nice gentleman was very understanding and offered me a better and cleaned and no roaches van. I have pictures of how dirty it was, my mom took pictures of me cleaning the van. It was horrible! Would never be going to this location ever again!! It was all just a horrible experience!

This did not affect what I was using it for, but might be an unwelcome surprise for others that were looking to have a drier more protected experience. The rental process was very quick both getting the van and returning the van. It has been a few years since I last rented a vehicle and when thinking back to previous years I was wondering a little that I was skipping steps and that something would turn up as a problem, but nothing has come up. Just waiting on the payment to post to my CC.

Marianne DoktorApp didn't work for pictures to check 8 . I was there at 8am and they open at 7am, doors locked no employees in sight. Called the main uhaul line and they couldn't get ahold of an empty to check me in either. Finally saw someone 20 mins later. My uhaul turning signal didn't work so I had to take it back. Gave me the keys to another one I had to drive to the front of the building to get and it was the wrong one. Back into the store and finally gave me the key to one I could use. First one they tried to give me was gross and not cleaned inside. The other was clean. Never logged the mileage or gas in the last one I took so I had to take pictures and call the mainline. None of the employees I came in contact with seemed to care about there jobs at all. Very disappointed in the service

manuel rodriguez | Online Move InI rented a cargo van. Tire pressure was all over the place. Back driver side was low, back passenger was side was 77 PSI. The vehicle had 3 wet spots in bed. While driving there were fumes filling the van, smelling like gas it was choking me. Rained and the windshield wipers needed replacing. I went in this location when I returned the van and tell employee all the problems and he says to me that van had been stolen and should NOT have been rented!!! Are you kidding me??? Think i will be renting from someone else next time
lance lucasThe email said all the items I ordered would be there with the truck. They were not. Had to pick up and take them to the truck. Ordered a furniture dolly. They never have any. Took a 1/2 hour to check in. I thought everything would be ready. The rental was from 8 to 12. I left at 8:30. Brought the truck back at 12:30. Fortunately, was not charged for being late.

For this spaces that is not discounted, customers should be shown it first. we were easily given another space without this issue when we asked for it.

Maria Rivera | Expérience généraleman working was rude, not only to me but the 9 month pregnant lady before me. i got there at 11:30am, he had a panic attack and threatened to kill himself then locked himself in an office. cops came, ambulance came. couldn't get my truck until past 2 waited for HOURS, lost $200 from my movers because they were paid hourly and there wasn't anything i could about that. was charged twice by uhaul for the truck. man was calling me a dumb b**** under his breath, i was so SO understanding that he was having a bad day, i asked "hey are you okay, why are you acting like this are you having a bad day" and his response was " WOULD YOU WANT TO BE WORKING AT UHAUL??" if you don't want to work here and it makes you THAT MISERABLE that you have to disrespect customers especially a 9 month pregnant woman then simply don't, clearly it's not good for your mental health and there are mannnny entry level jobs hiring right now. I understand hurt people hurt people and if he was just like yeah today sucked i could have been so nice and understanding but i told him i ordered mats and he's claiming i didn't while i have the receipt right in my hand then mumbling dumb b**** under his breath i completely lost it, i refuse to be called that nor will i stand for that as a woman. i need my multiple charges refunded and will keep showing up until they are. this is completely ridiculous. I had to take my DOCTOR PRESCRIBED ANXIETY MEDICINE THAT IS IN MY NAME FOR PANIC ATTACKS then he's calling me a pill popper? Nahhhhhh you got the wrong one. Sir this is so I don't flip out and start treating people the way you are. Watch the footage. Fire him. Refund me. You're a million dollar corporation this is ridiculous.

Anyone who has ever rented there knows they can just walk in through the front center doors (which automatically open for anyone passing by) and choose which unit they wish to break into. They then can walk back outside and disarm that unit allowing them to go back in and pick the lock (which is not difficult) or cut the latch and remove the lock altogether (which happened to me in a previous storage unit). It is simply not secure enough.
