Return process needs improvement. The trailer was returned at just before closing time and the man who took the trailer was not pleasant. He said he would wait until the morning to check the trailer in, but I received a late notice the next day. i had to call to get someone to confirm the trailer was on site the following evening. I was only charged for the one day once the trailer was confirmed on site.

Carmen MatosThe blankets and utility dolly were not in the truck. The truck was given to me on Empty, so had to find a gas station to accommodate 26 foot truck and towing car as soon as departed store (in town, no truck stops). Got gas, drove home and then had to TURN AROUND AND DRIVE BACK!!!!! To get blankets and utility dolly!!!! Of course I didn't get to pick up at requested location 10 minutes from house….. I had to drive back to location 25-30 minutes from my house…. So I lost an hour and a half betweeen getting g gas and round trip back to uhaul to get blankets. Tow dolly number was not on original contract, so after being notified on Monday I was scheduled to pick up at 4:45 pm (I already had it!!!!), I called to find out what was going on and was asked to stop and find out the number of the tow dolly and provide it.

JAMES SPIRIOI will never use u-haul for anything ever again because of my experiences with this location. There isn't enough room here to summarize all the problems I've experienced with u-haul, their staff, their policies, their inept staff, their terrible attitude towards people when the problem is on their end/due to errors, mistakes or shortcomings on their part. Glitches and mistakes "don't blame us, it's corporate's fault" Being treated as threatening by simply expressing frustration and unhappiness that there are so many problems. Going to my emergency contact adding late fees to an account with $0.00 balance and threatening leins. Having Mike Reyes, the General Manager tell me it doesn't matter what corporate says or what is discovered after reviewing past recorded phone calls because nothing is going to change. The list goes on and on. The most egregious act was that after attempting to go in person to have a question cleared up about my most recent bill and once again having problems, Mike Reyes slipped a 2nd and FINAL notice of termination of my contract into my account without sending it to me at all. I never received a first notification.. there wasn't a first notification in my account file either that I was ever informed of. The only reason I found out about this 2nd and final notice was because I called customer service for help after I left U-Haul of west tampa's office and the woman on the phone informed me of the notification and she then sent it to my email. I looked everywhere including spam. Mike Reyes never sent that notice to me and it's far from the first time I didn't receive correspondence from the location I had my belongings stored. That man tried to slip that notification in my account because the 2nd and final notification only allows the customer 72 hours to contact them to make arrangements to vacate or else you're screwed. Mike Reyes, the general manager at u-haul of west tampa, thought I wouldn't find out about the notification until it was too late. There is no way I could've known without contacting customer service because he did not send me that notification by any means. Thanks to the way management carries itself this location is foul, misleading, inept, predatory and vindictive. Goodbye U-Haul.

We do not see a clue as to the cause of the red ink stain other than the pads supplied by U-Haul. We have tried many cleaners and have not been successful. I have before pics. What recourse is available to us?

judy mitchellI will never leave the truck without me getting receipt. I trusted they would be honest and not rip me off. I returned the truck with same amount gas I left with. They charged me for 7 gallons of gas. I only went 31 miles. Seven gallons of gas with an average of 10 miles a gallon is 70 miles. I put 12 dollars of gas in the tank. Which gave me just over four gallons of gas. Which will easily covers the gas I used. I didn't leave the truck with a quarter tank of gas.

Reginald ThurmanWe have used Uhaul many times and always had a good experience. This last time December 3rd when we rented the Uhaul truck and the tow dolly John did not want to take it because of the poor condition it was in. Both ratchet straps were very rusted but the yard person insisted it was fine and refused to give me the original dolly that was assigned to him because he said it was blocked by 4 other dolly's. We had Nothing but problems from Tampa Florida to Ohio. We called the Uhaul service center to explain the problem we continued having with the straps because they kept getting loose and causing the van we were towing to shift. We waited over 3 hours for them to send another dolly and they never came. We had to purchase our own tie down straps so we could get to Ohio. Our van had front suspension dammage.

After a month in advance reservation, they allowed someone to remain in possession of a truck that was reserved for me. Their actions ruined my entire day of travel and caused me to have to drive at night on a 6hr trip. $1000 rental and $100 is all the compensation they feel I deserve after messing up my reservation and giving me the run around for 4hrs. Wasting my time and gas running around Tampa for a mistake that was clearly their fault.

You need to go up a flight of stairs and go around like a maze. If you had big and heavy items it would be a problem.

When I arrived with a uhaul truck they had in fact not removed the lock there for I could not access my own personal lock to get into my storage. I called 5 hours prior. Luckily there was someone on sit an hour after their closing hours who took it off. You have to call this facility over 4-5 times and potentially will be answered. I personally would not rent at this facility again but hopefully other people have better experiences than I did.

However, after the first day we used it at 6pm we went back the next day at 8pm and were locked out of the building completely. It was a Sunday so we tried again Monday only to be locked out again. What no one told us is the the building we were in was only accessible from 7am-7pm which doesn't work with our schedule at all. This wasn't anywhere on the website or in the contract for rental. I called and they confirmed (rudely) the 7am-7pm time frame for only that building. I was told when we took our lock off we would get a refund since it had only been 3 days of use. We took our lock the next morning and received an email saying we owed $0.00 but no refunded amount was given. Terrible experience all around and I now have to pay another facility for this month while also having paid for this unusable space.

I will say the gentlemen that stopped by as I was leaving one night , I guess I sounded an alarm ? Unbeknownst .. he was very well manored .. unfortunately it didn't compare to the crap I had to deal with the rest of the time!! Even from Washington to San Diego customer service has just gone way down!! Pretty sad!! Lucky you got one star!!

Specifically with Covid-19's killing people and Rent Going dooooo Hi… they should give you 2 to 3 months and make arrangements for you too pay and get it Out…. The issue is when I first called Uhaul they issued me the wrong storage unit twice and it involved me driving out of my way. Also the uhaul I was issued from the St Pete location was very dirty. I was such in a rush to load my personal belongings that when I off loaded them into storage they were very dirty and dusty. Also the dolley handle in the back of the uhaul was damaged. On the side wall of the back of the uhaul there were brownish bloodish stains. So disgusting. Throughout this whole ordeal I constantly called customer service to complain but was put on extremely long holds and was even told we would be contacted back within 72 hours from a manager. That has yet to happen.

It totally ruined my move in day for today. The associate had an "Oh Well not her fault" demeanor. I won't be returning to the West Hillsborough (Tampa) location ever again. The Gandy Location (Tampa) helped me out with a truck not the same size but I could work with it.

Especially since it was turned in (freed/move out) 3 weeks before the next due date and there was no credit given (returned credit or in house credit) which I personally think is wrong, they will lock up your unit if you don't pay ( not my case, I always paid before my due date) but you can't get reimbursed or credited for future use!!! This is very wrong to the consumers!

Eric Smith Jr | Premières impressionsI rented a 5x5 cube. Realized it was too small after checking in, and during my move. I called Uhaul- same number I've been calling. I asked for a larger cube and they accommodated me with a 5x10 cube. When I arrived to move in, I explained to the check in peeps in what transpired. They all acted stupid and denied having a 5x10 cube available (even though I I knew the number of the cube I was promised and it happened to be empty- and a 5x10...) I called the same number hoping to get the same guy, but got a lady. She told me there was no way for the previous guy to know what cubes were open. So- I figure the guy on the phone had a magical computer which gave him a special power to see available cubes. Or- I have ESP and hallucinated the whole experience to know what cube number was available and that it was a 5x10. Either way, Uhaul would not honor the promise or compromise with me on a larger cube. The girl on the phone actually asked if there was any thing 'else' she could help me with. She thinks she helped me???(Clearly she's in MENSA) In summary, my opinion is that if my dog smoked Crystal Meth, he would still be smarter and more organized than these people at this location. Since my stuff wouldn't fit in their aquarium-sized 5x5 unit, I had find other arrangements to store my stuff. Bravo people! Bravo...

Also, iT IS IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of someone over the phone!! I literally called at all times of the day and NEVER got a response. I had to call another U Haul facility to get assistance. Customer Service is non existent. Clean house, and start over!

When I arrive to pick up the truck and claim my unit I was told I had until 5 to access my unit that day because I could only access it during staffed hours. I went back home and loaded up the truck myself and then drove back over to the location to unload into my unit. I arrive around 4:46 and couldn't find my unit so I went to the front door to ask for help and the door was locked before 5. I went around the back to see if I could find it and I saw a couple of employees that helped me in the right direction but for some reason wouldn't tell me that I couldn't use it because they were are leaving early. So I ended up calling the store manger 4 times because his number was a on a board and didn't answer or even call me back after a voicemail. So I needed to bring the truck back to my house UNLOAD all my stuff myself and wait until the next day to then again RELOAD all my stuff. When I dropped off the truck the guy I spoke with accommodated me but I wanted to make you aware of the situation.

I went to the office to see if I can get a prorated rent, some of my 121$ I spent back and was told I couldn't! There's nothing in my unit! Then was asked if I wanted to go ahead and checkout?! WHY, so you can KEEP my money and rent the unit out AGAIN and double your funds! Yeah, RIGHT! Looks like I'm keeping my lock on the unit the rest of the month for no reason at all! TERRIBLE customer service! I will NOT be using uhaul ANYMORE! And definitely not recommending to anyone else to get SCAMMED!

They have way too many rental trucks and trailers blocking the driveways, this facility is not large truck or trailer friendly. I brought in a 16' trailer to load and it was near impossible to maneuver especially with other vehicles in the same area! I would NEVER use or RECOMMEND this facility for any type of storage. Inside building 3, there is a strong order of urine!
