Robert at the Sunset Hill facility in Spokane was so friendly and helpful from the minute I walked in the door. It is my first time having a storage unit, and life circumstances prompting the need for the unit have been stressful. He answered my questions and set me at ease. Nicely done, Robert! I would highly recommend this facility to anyone without reservation.

First of all, the truck was ancient. Second, the truck broke down and nobody has reached out to me as to how the breakdown affected our move. Finally, no effort by the individual that checked me in for the rental. Not sure why the price is what it is??? Absolutely no customer service.

Trailer rode fine. I rented a car hauler, but the right front tire tie down was rusted and couldn't get unlocked. A a result, I locked the left one as normal and had to use various tie downs to secure the right front tire. The people at Uhaul were very friendly and responsive. Frank as very friendly and helpful and secured the trailer to my truck. Overall, the trailer drove fine, just the issues with the right front tie down.

U-Haul truck smelled like marijuana, was sticky and unclean and steering wheel and windshield wiper control was coated with food and junk. I rented the same exact truck a couple weeks ago and wasn't like that at all.

I originally rented from midtown on third but they didn't have my rental and I had to go to the other location. A call beforehand and asking me to go to a different location would have been helpful so I didn't have to drive to two different locations to pick up my rental.

The 26' foot moving truck was in poor condition with engine lights on and very clunky. The truck had 161,xxx miles. Also, when we rented the moving blankets we were charged $10 for a pack of 6 which we purchased 4 of these packs. On the way out the door the rack these blankets were sitting on said $5 a pack. Very disappointed!

I had made a reservation for an 8' pickup truck on 1/17/2024 and when I called the location the line was busy so I was forwarded to UHAUL customer service. When making the reservation I asked the agent if the truck that I was reserving was 4 wheel drive and she confirmed yes that it was 4 wheel drive. This was important to me because we were going to receive 5"-12" of snow in Spokane on that date. I drove the truck to my home not realizing that it was not a 4 wheel drive and we then received the snow that was forecasted. I ended up getting struck in my neighborhood and could not use the vehicle at all for the intended purpose. I returned the truck after driving a total of 7 miles and was told by the manager Robert Vandeweghe that there was nothing he could do to help rectify the situation. I was told that "I needed to call customer service and see if that had a recording of the phone call". He let me know that none of his employees would have given me the misinformation even after I had let him know that I had called the location and had been forwarded to UHAUL customer service not someone at his location. He let me know that "I could not have received the information from his location", "as none of their trucks are 4wd" so I had to be mistaken. I then asked for his name and he pointed toward his business card and asked "what are you going to say" when I speak to customer service. I was disappointed that his level of concern for what I might say about him to customer service about my experience was much higher than the level of customer service that he was willing to provide to me.

It's the nightmare of dealing with the staff member that was putting on additional locks for no reason but still doing it after all the construction work was finished. Making clients do multiple trips back and forth to the office to retrieve their equipment. Very rude and very confrontational. You cannot have control freaks like that running your organization you will lose multiple customers. And eventually go out of business. People who want to control everything. To the detriment of your clientele. As it stands I would not recommend U-Haul for that reason only. I doubt I will never do business again with U-Haul because I had such a bad experience.

- Online reservation and pickup did not seem to be linked. Had to submit CC and other info twice. - Trailer was very robust and worked perfectly. Very satisfied with equipment. - Drop off was rocky. Office was empty, had to track down personnel. Drop off area was not well marked, signs were not illuminated after dark. Drop off person was abrupt and disinterested, I seemed to be distracting and annoying him trying to return the trailer.

I was told they would adjust mileage to return to a different location as the other location had to many trucks. They called annd ansked me to do this annd said they would adjust mileage. Also I returned the truck with more than half a tank, I returned it with exactly what I picked it up with and was charged for miles and gas!! This is my second bad experience uhaul and next time I will go with someone else.

Was told there was after hours access there is not. Today when trying to drop off items a employee came out and said we couldn't do it since they closed in 15 minutes. Storage side of the building was all locked up 15 minutes before they close. I understand we were close to closing time but then to be told because he has things to do after work and didn't wanna have to come searching for us completely unprofessional.

I reserved an appliance dolly for an additional $7 and turns out it wasn't available when I went to pick up my trailer. I had to rent one for $45 instead even though I had reserved it online ahead of time. It's either an online to facility issue or it was overlooked - either way I had to pay more for the product I had already prepaid. The staff at the return (6:45 on a Saturday) was great, the area was clean too. I'd recommend it but I think more leg work is required to make sure products are available. I wasn't super happy about paying more

I love this location. The people are very helpful and the lot is big. They hooked up for me and were very polite. Excellent employees! On the other hand, the auto transport trailers from Uhaul could use a bit of maintenance. I've rented several from various locations over the past few months and they either have bald tires or lack of grease. Very hard to jack up and down.

U-Haul was great. U-Haul Moving and Storage of West Spokane ran into an issue with the city wetlands department, and it affected me! U-Haul of West Spokane had to close a few storage units along the freeway side of the facility. As it turns out I had one of the units on that side! Rob and the staff there called me in August and told me that I would have to move out by the end of that month! Unfortunately I live in a different State now and could not really do much about it. Rob promised me that if I would hire a company to move my stuff to a different unit there in their West Spokane facility they would pay for the move and give me 2 months free rent. He suggested an outfit called Speedy Movers, which I contacted. Unfortunately they were booked past the time I needed them but they recommended a fellow named Tyrone with a different company. Tyrone and Associates did a wonderful job. And manager Rob at West Spokane U-Haul Moving and Storage paid them and have kept their word about the two months free rent. They even got me into a smaller unit which is going to save me about $70 a month! Needless to say I am very pleased with Rob and companies at West Spokane U-Haul Moving and Storage. Thank you Rob!!

Stop hassling me

In my short time there, not even a year, I was moved out of my inside unit due to a fire hazard into an outside unit. Then most recently my unit was broken into and my stuff stolen and damaged. So not at all secure or any peace of mind. You would think there would be a gate code to track people or motion sensor/camera to alert when people are literally breaking into multiple units… so overall experience was disappointing.

Robert and Frank both were always friendly and helpful and went above and beyond in customer service and we have enjoyed working with them while our project had had many bumps along they way, we never had to worry about the security of our furniture in storage while we were on hold! We will definitely use uhaul on Sunset again!

My only criticism is that many of our things were damp. I'm sure it is impossible to control the humidity in the outdoor units. Over all, I was extremely pleased.

The online move-in was not accurate to how this facility operates. Once I knew what to do it wasn't a problem. I had to get an employee to let me into the unit instead of key pad entry, and there wasn't a lock in the unit, so I had to go to the front desk to get the free lock. Not terrible, just kind of inconvenient. The biggest issue I had was that the unit I reserved had a damaged locking mechanism. I was able to move to another unit the next day. Which luckily I was making sure I was set to move stuff in the next day and didn't have a truck full of stuff. That was handled pretty seamlessly and everyone I interacted with was awesome. So overall an OK experience, but I wish it was more streamlined so I didn't have to spend so much time getting access and switching units.

I am NOT HAPPY with who ever Moved my Items! Many things are missing, I did recover my Fan and 3 drawer container from the facility of Sprague. I am not sure what all is missing yet for I had a delivery in Lewiston ID that same day. I had 2 smaller collapsible boxes which held my T-shirts and another my medications, which is missing. The movers ruined some of my totes by putting heavy items upon light weight items. I am not sure until I am back in Spokane for an extended period of time to even see what all is missing. Am I Pleased….NOT ONE BIT! Your Movers with my Items, were careless and possible thieves.

Elevators were too small to fit anything, garage doors didn't work half the time, carts were left everywhere. Awful compared to the last uhaul facility I stored at.

I was moved out of the facility by uhaul to a less convenient location. There was not really an explanation or clarification of whether we would return.

Our storage was moved to a different location so they could do some construction work, which is fine. What was bad is that they gave me a one day notice of the move which did not allow me time to look over my things. There was no guarantee that what was moved if broken or missing would be replaced at no cost to me. Not happy with the lack of time given and hopefully nothing will be broken or missing.

The general manager did an excellent job handling the enormous line of customers while we were there. It was not his fault the place was under staffed. He was professional and handled all the customers professionally and as quickly as he could. He was nice and polite.

They decided they were going to do some construction, whith that being said they said that I could move my stuff to another facility across town and that my rent would go up $15 to $20 for the inconvenience. Not how you treat your customers in my opinion and I will never use or refer anyone to Uhaul. I will say the young people that work at this facility are very nice. Tha manager made no attempt to make it right.

We have a U Haul rental unit in Sammamish (3 years) and everything has been fine. Unfortunately the Spokane unit had to be vacated at a time of year when weather conditions on Snoqualmie Pass are uncertain. For us this posed a significant inconvenience. First, this location is dangerous from the standpoint of homeless and transients. Second, u-haul damaged my possessions and vehicle ($5000) with their equipment and then refused responsibility. As we reviewed the accident on security cameras Management acknowledged the accident and acknowledged their mistake. But when turned over to RepWest (U-hauls insurance based in Phoenix) RepWest refused liability. U-haul refused my access to security camera recording and additionally disallowed employees to communicate with me. The local management is solid but corporate management (Jessica Brooks) is corrupt, dishonest and total lack of integrity. I transferred belongings to West Plains Storage in Airway Heights. WITH REGARDS TO SECURITY SAFETY OF YOUR POSSESSIONS DO NOT TRUST -U-HAUL STORAGE

Not only did I use a storage unit here, but I also did a one-day rental of a pickup truck to haul some things I couldn't keep. Cody who works here was an amazing wealth of information. He was super helpful, kind, and deserves a raise. I was very pleased with my service from this location and highly recommend it to anyone else looking for a good storage unit or other uhaul rental!

I would give the overall experience 5 stars EXCEPT for the TINY elevators that make moving items to the upper floors inconvenient and much harder work than it should be. The elevator AND carts should be bigger. We are moving household items and furniture, for crying out loud. Other than that, the front desk management is excellent and the facility clean and brightly lit. Of all U-Haul facilities I've used, this one is the best other than those darn elevators.

Seattle's u haul stores suck!!! Could not get a truck for our move across state. We finally located a u haul store 37 miles in Bonney lake that supplied us with a truck. They made our move easy and painless. Thank you Bonney lake U haul and storage.

Excellent, clean facility except for the TINY elevators that cannot fit wide dressers or couches. These are a major problem and design flaw in the overall plan when building this storage site. Whoever missed adding freight-sized elevators to a three-story storage facility should be fired.

Had water seep into the unit. My dining room table suffered water damage as a result. The table, wrapped in a quilt that was also damaged and soaking wet, was at the back of the unit. I was under the impression these units were water tight?

Pretty amazing facility and helpful staff. Great special rate on small locker. My only complaint is that I wanted to rent the plastic bins for a few weeks to help me with my move, but when I went into the store, the customer service rep couldn't figure out how to rent them. He called his manager, and she told him the steps but he still couldn't do it. So, after waiting at the counter for 15 minutes, I left emptyhanded. Nice enough young guy. Just not adequately trained.

I rented a vehicle and was offered a promotional free month. I already had a storage unit. I just couldn't pass up the free month and the policy for rent is fair. Overall wonderful staff ultimately the general manager Lisa sold me on it. Just too convenient to not utilize
