Samantha AutryThe staff at the location was extremely pleasant and helpful. The equipment on the other hand was a disaster. The car hauler trailer I rented caused me so much grief. I had the same tire go flat twice within a 40 mile distance. The first time it caught fire the second time I was able to stop and pull over before it too caught fire. The issue happened due to a bolt on the internal right rear wheel well rubbing against the tire. In addition to that the stabilizer for the trailer seized (froze) and I had to use a personal jack to lift it off the truck for loading. This added an additional three hours and and undue stress to my trip. This was absolutely a nightmare. I do not foresee me using Uhaul anytime soon and I don't think I'll recommend it to anyone. I've used Uhaul for years and through multiple moves for the military and this was just as I stated above, a nightmare.
Amanda YoungThe vehicle breakdown cost a day of travel, incurring hotel and other fees due to a change in travel schedules. In incidents like this, I believe that UHaul should consider a partial rebate to the customer due to inconveniences that occur.

John DelunaWe were moving an entire house and requested 5 dozen moving blankets and when we picked up the truck, there were no blankets in the truck. Also, there was hardly any fuel in the truck so we had to immediately stop at a station to put fuel being the truck only gets 7 miles to the gallon.

Isai GonzalezMore help is needed. I tried to drop off my rental online and the geotracking would not work. The one gentleman working did an excellent answering the phone, checking out rental trailers and trucks to everyone by himself. There were 5 people waiting for help while he was attending to the first customer in line, and he never seemed overwhelmed and was very professional while addressing the rules with a customers.
Breck RossVan was past due for oil change and right rear tire pressure sensor had failed. (Had to stop a few times to check air in tires) Was told van was not available as promised, then somehow became available the morning of pick up - but was dirty and low on fuel. Larry tried his best to make a bad situation better, but it took nearly an HOUR to get vehicle ready to go (scheduled for 11:30, got there at 11:15, but didn't leave until after 12:15) Was told that there would be an adjustment in cost due to reservation mix up, but still wound up paying nearly $100 in extra mileage charges. Adequate for what I needed that day - but previous experiences with UHaul (and this location) have been better.
Howard MccleskeyJust wanted to thank Larry for making a prompt arrangement and transaction to pick up the vehicle and appreciate Brandon for taking over the retrieval of the vehicle and refunding what was not used in terms of mileage. They were able to make adjustments on the charge since I used the vehicle less than I expected.

I was standing there waiting inside got told all I need is your keys they then took the keys went to truck carne back and said here passed me my receipt while I was reviewing it they walked off No customer service. If it wasn't for the manager Larry I would use a different location. And if it wasn't for the poor weekend staff the place would get a 5 start

David CaulkinsPut in new couch to be taken to a facility for protective coating of fabric. Upon opening door the couch bottom half was covered in muddy water material from the highway. Therefore requiring an additional cleaning prior to the protective coating process to be done. Attempted to get U-haul to pay for the cleaning process but was denied. Also the employee at Sam Houston st site in Victoria tx was very rude & had cocky answers when inquiring about the incident. When we returned the trailer the employee looked at the seals around door & made statement that they may be cracked. Regardless no refund. The entire experience was unacceptable.

All I can say about what could be better, is pricing on rates for usage on pickup rental and also on per milage fee for going over included milage. Whether it be daily, weekly or monthly on my recommendations of improvement. Thanks again for having simple easy services!

After a few minutes i go in and they are on there phones and wasn't in a hurry to get up and check the truck in. I’m sure they have cameras and saw me drive in. patrick kolibaThe agent at the Uhaul in Bemidji, MN, [destination] mentioned that the box trailer should have been adjusted to ride more level. I agree. It rode at a downward angle, which put more weight at the hitch, which in turn, put more weight onto the rear suspension on our vehicle. This issue, also made it so our low-beams were then higher than normal; ergo, we were constantly being 'flashed' by oncoming drivers to turn-off our suspected high-beams all the way from South Texas to Northern Minnesota (1 600 miles). I actually had a 'ball/hitch-lowerer' as the receiver hitch. It could have been easy enough, to invert the lowering receiver hitch, (flipped the receiver hitch and ball 180 degrees), thus raising the hitch ball, about 5-6 inches. This would have made the box trailer likely ride ~ (nearly) perfectly level. It's not really a complaint, per-se; but it would have been better. As well, one of the little rubber grommet do-dads came loose; subsequently, one of the safety-chains came off, after about 30 minutes of travel from Victoria, TX. I pulled over once I realized the chain was loose. What seems to have happened, is the person who connected the trailer, did not put the rubber grommet on, correctly. There are two sizes of holes in the rubber grommet; one is smaller than the other. The larger one, goes on first, then the smaller one that holds the chain's hook, does so, snugly. What seems to have occurred because the grommet was not installed correctly, is the chain's hook came loose and popped off. Oh, as well, the chains, once the trailer was loaded, dragged the ground, further. I don't think this contributed to the chain coming off because the chain came off, BEFORE, we had loaded the box trailer with furniture, in Sealy, TX. So, once we loaded the trailer, as recommended by Uhaul with the heavier items at the tongue-side of the trailer, it just sank down further on the hitch/ball, aka, rear suspension. I did stop by another Uhaul, in Brehnam, TX (I think) and the Uhaul person there gave me another rubber grommet since the first one was then gone. Having the trailer tongue lower, also meant we kept dragging the tongue 'protector' (at the bottom side of the tongue) on the 'dips' between driveways when coming off/from roadways, and vice-versa.
