My first impression with uHaul was the online reservation system. I did not like that I felt tricked into buying things. Every time I'd hit next, it would automatically add items to my cart. I had to go back and remove them as I didn't need extra supplies. I reserved a van for four hours, but since it was at 6pm, I needed to return it after it closed at 10pm. When I arrived, the staff was very nice. They told me to put the keys in the drop box when I returned. I was not told that I would be charged a $20 after hours fee, and that I needed to do a video checkin before I turned in the keys. I was charged an extra $20 for not doing the video check-in with GPS location enabled. I realized after I put the keys in the dropbox I received a text about it, but due to the circumstances requiring the truck (aka getting out of a potential domestic violence situation), I was not looking at my phone prior. My $19 van plus mileage in town for 4 hours quickly turned into $119. Plus I added $40 worth of gas. Also I might add, there were bucket seats in the van, not the bench I was used to. I didn't have a seat for the third person that went with me to help move furniture. If I recommend this to anyone, I would highly stress that they need to be aware of the unwanted upselling of uhaul.Shawna C.

Truck measurements should not include the part over the cab. I got a 15' truck gor a 12' table and it did not fit, because of the false sizing. Site was poorly staffed and it took a long time to check in the vehicle.Thomas B.

My initial rental was for a day. I needed 2 more days and each day I physically went in to extend the rental. The 3rd day however, the truck started to shake, the A.C. went out, and I had to stop doing what I was right in the middle of doing, and return the truck for another one, thinking it might not make it back, that was my only option. Well it made it back, then I had to shuffle a half loaded truck to another one, then try to make up for the time lost in doing all of this... I would like for Uhaul to consider all of that, which added to the total miles by like 60 miles give or take, and adjust my final bill, which I intend on paying in full tomarrow.. Thank you for your time into this matter. I would hope to be treated fairly because my statement is true and as accurate to the best of my knowledge..paul W.
When I got to the uhaul place gut behind the counter checking me in did really know what was going 1 thing they didn't have the truck I reserved so I had to setting for a smaller truck which cost me move for our movers I'm disabled so I had to finish my move myself and then going to charge me for being late which I think is ridiculous being its there fault in the first place.Robert M.

Was double charged 3 days after my truck rental experience which was already poor! Went to Uhaul on I-17 and Dunlap in Phoenix AZ. Turned the truck in early and a young girl calls me very unprofessionally i might add, and proceed to tell me how my truck was to be back at 4 and there was other people who had a reservations after me and I was to have the 10 ft truck back by now., howeverI turned the truck in 2 hours earlier at 2 pm. so when I tell get the truck number I had and the fact I'm still waiting in my receipt after the truck was to be sent via email. she just says â€œ oh I see it out frontâ€..oh ok..â€¦ WTF!!! , no I'm sorry or anything I felt like she called herself trying to check me when she didn't do her job correctly and just look up and out the window! Better yet the keys have the truck numbers on them!! Common sense goes a long way!.. if I was in my younger years I would have went j up there to discuss it face to face. Customer service has no online support and calls are always a 30-50 minute wait! Piss poor representation of Uhaul at best! -3 stars for this experience and to be overcharged let's see how long it take for me credit.. stay tuned!Tawanamie C.

You all need 2 people at the desk We had to wait in line for about 30 minutes to be seen. We were told it would be $59.-- for 20 miles and we drove 17,8 miles and it ended up being $88.-- Also we get a call wondering where the truck was when we turned it in before the 6 hr mark. We had too much hassle. We are still not happy for the extra cost.David T.

This was the worst experience my husband and I ever had. We reserved our equipment to be picked up and returned to the Goodyear location. We received an email that we had to pick up our equipment in Phoenix. When we got there they only had half of our equipment. They sent us back to Goodyear to pick up the other half. When it came time to return the equipment I had to return it to two different locations. They got our return dates messed up. This was the worst experience we ever had. The customer service I called was on hold for over 45 minutes after I explain to the young lady what my situation was she hung up on me . Very very unhappy with the horrible customer service that my husband and I received.Cathy C.

Wed had to call cust Serv bc of a problem gaining access to my storage unit. Was unable to unload truck and return on time. I worked 6am to 7pm Thurs and Fri 6am to 5pm. I never wanted the truck for more than 1 day! I'm well aware of what little time I had to unload it. Friday as I'm trying to play catch up with my voicemails. I listen to one from your ghetto ass employee. Threatening me to call the police to have me arrested and she would make sure I was prosecuted. Don't threaten me because your employees aren't worth a shit. I've complained time and time again about that location and still haven't seen the problems resolved. I will now take the time to down size my other storage unit and clear yours out. I will not spend my money with you and your nonexistent customer service standards. One of the straps was broken, and I was canceled. Did all the info before going in online and when I got there they canceled it and said I'd have to return the same day if I still wanted it, was planning on returning it the next day. Absolutely a joke from beginning to end. Well it hasn't ended yet. I have rented a trailer before. This time was a truck. Got truckâ€¦ made it approximately 6 miles and stopped at Home Depot to grab lumber. Loaded lumber and went to start the truck. Nope wouldn't start. This started the stupid process of getting roadside on the phone. Not going to detail that at all. I will use one word. Joke. App was a joke and phone was a joke as I did both. Guy came finally couldn't fix it. Left him my number and told him to call me when done and would return it. Went got buddy's truck/ trailer got lumber out of U-Haul. Guy was still there waiting for parts. Finally calls and I take it back unused. I think I have spent approximately 3 hours plus on phone with all the calls to roadside and customer service. Was promised a refund. Today it bills my card. Another call to customer service ( this guy can see the notes about the refund) and has to escalate the issue. Hours and hours for nothing. Fix the horribly squeaking brakes too. POS period. What should have been an hour at most rental has been a complete joke. Have always used Penske for moves from Idaho to Florida and back to Idaho then to Phoenix. Always great new trucks. Thanks for wasting more of my time with this survey. Feel free to call me. I rented a U-Haul pick up truck back in January at a mlg price of 0,59 cents per mile. When I called the day of rental, they could not find the pick up truck at the location I reserved it. I had to pay for an Uber to take me to my housing location instead of going directly to the U-haul location due to this ($28). Several hrs later I was notified that the pick up truck was at a different location and I would have to pick it up there, that they would not drive it to my original rental location (3 miles from each other). I walked the 1,3 miles to the new U-haul location and picked the truck up. I was told that the mlg price was now 0,69 cents per mile and that the price was not locked in at 0,59 cents when I reserved the vehicle. Now I'm stuck and have no options. This was not right to spring this on the customer when they are picking the vehicle up. I had emailed U-haul a week before arrival with no response. When I got in the vehicle it smelled like Marijuana horribly and green glass shards were all over the floor boards and continued to show up during my rental. I was advised when I returned it that the vehicles glass had previously been broken and replaced so every time a door was shut, excess glass appeared.
