The reservation system is a mess. Even after giving your credit card you still don';t really know if you have the truck. No one called - we called them. Not really getting a confirmation of the trick, only the reservation, makes it stressful.VICTOR P.

The way this van was given to me was a crime. Sticky stained floor mats and dashboard from spilled soda, a food container with empty food in it under the passenger seat, crumbs/stains on the seats, etc. I had this for a week rental. I had to take it home and my wife and I scoured this covid infested POS mess... I have pictures if you want to see, but I'm sure no one cares there. Someone needs fired at this location.MATHEW G.

This was the second time I reserved at U-Haul at Grand and Bell, Surprise, AZ. They referred me again to another location because they never seem to have basic moving items on hand. While the Surprise location is very close and convenient, the supplying location is much further away and inconvenient. It seems the Surprise location rarely has the basic stuff, like an appliance dolly, that other sites have. Kind of pissed off, actually. I wish they could get their act together.RONALD B.

The return after hours seemed to be a bit cumbersome, especially at 11:00 at night. I was told to drop the keys off in the dropbox when I returned the truck and found the return experience logging in and taking photos, etc. to be rough at the end of a long day. Reservation was made at another facility who did not have equities needed. Told I would need to go to this facility and charges would be discounted. Horrible customer service at both locations. Employees don't care at all. When returning the truck came back to find my car boxed in and very difficult to get out. Overall made my day hours longer than it needed to be. Won't ever recommend Uhaul to anyone.TRACEY J.
The people at the locations were excellent. However the interaction I had with your Corporate call center was some of the worst customer service I ever experienced. The arrogance and callousness of the people I spoke to on the phone was monumental. 2 days before my move I was told my reservation (made almost 2 months prior) was not going to be honored. This cause me to lose a day of work, greatly inconvenienced me and messed up a very tight moving schedule. Would I rent from U-Haul again.... NO, because a reservation has no value. If you need a truck to move at a certain time there is no guarantee the truck will be available on the date and time you need.ANNE M.

Lower the price. I used your cargo for 2 1/2 hours, drove it 50 miles, it used 30 $in gas, then with mileage and insurance on top of the rental that you advertise as "19,99 $ Rental", my little errand cost me 95 $.Bill S.

Pull the truck out of its parking spot for the customer. My truck was wedged between two other trucks. I had to fold in the mirrors on both sides of my rental as well as those on the trucks on either side in order to get the rig out.Gregory D.

I reserved a first floor unit, that should have been climate controlled. I got there and it is a lower level unit, not climate controlled. Accessing my unit is hard. The doors are blocked by regular cars parked so I cannot back my trailer to it. The elevator is slow, slow, slow. So you are stuck in the sweltering heat. Not a great experience. We have a couple units in Phoenix that are way nicer, I should have gotten another one there and just made the drive.Jennifer R. | Premières impressions

I encountered a problem trying to lock the unit; after a long exhausting day, I couldn't get the top part of the latch to slide forward placing the plunger into the hole in the door frame. A young man from the office came to help but was unable to get the latch to engage as well. He told me no one would be available to fix it until morning. Obviously that wasn't acceptable. He left to see if someone else could help. After standing at my storage unit for about 10 minutes I went outside to see the young man who had been helping me was now in the driveway assisting people w/ their rental trailers. So I called the U-Haul main number and held for nearly 15 minutes. While I was holding the young man comes to me to report that his manager is gone and she's not answering the phone because she's off duty now. I was also told there was no emergency number because this problem had never occurred before. The lady who answered my call shared that if the unit couldn't be locked, the store had an obligation to move my belongings to a secure facility if that was needed to secure it. I explained that we had just moved three safes into the unit and that would be extremely difficult without the appropriate equipment. After a long hold, she comes back on the line and tells me she's "just going to have to wake Jennifer up." I didn't realize it, but the rep connected me directly to Jennifer who clearly wasn't happy with the call. She tried to explain that the store was closed now and there was no one to help. I told her this all began before the store closed. Finally she offered to get the situation corrected and told me she would call me back. Almost immediately two attendants came running to help. Turns out that in order to get the top latch to engage, it requires the user to literally stand on the handle applying all the user's weight for this particular unit. At the end of an exhausting day to have run into this odd situation was tear-inducing and to have a staff that seemed so ill-prepared was even more frustrating. It took more than an hour to correct something that should have taken the amount of time it would take an employee to get from the store to the unit in question but an hour was unacceptable. Jennifer could have called me back too to make sure everything was finally handled correctly and to my satisfaction, but...I will continue to use the facility but will recognize that if assistance is required, it seems to be limited by knowledge, imagination and desire.Sandra C. | Online Move In

I reserved a climate controlled unit and when I got there it was not available and so I did not great climate control. I selected that size because it was the biggest one I could get that had climate control. Had I known I was not going to get climate control, I would have packed different items to store and I may have selected a bigger unit. Because I had planned for the smaller unit, I only packed enough to fit in the smaller size. I had a four hour drive from Henderson, Nevada, and there was no option to go back and load more into the truck. I hope this makes sense. Accurate communication up front would have made for a much better experience. The staff was empathetic to the situation, but your "reservation" system undermined my experience significantly.Damian S. | Premières impressions
