We made a reservation online and when we arrived at the store, we were totally ignored for at least 5 minutes by employees. Then they literally walked away and never asked if we needed help. Once we were acknowledged by a 3rd employee, he was eventually able to assist us, but seemed like he didn't have the knowledge/experience/interest in any of our questions or needs. Overall, we were very unsatisfied with this location and will not use it again.Jonathan S.

Our truck that we reserved over a week in advance was given away as we were checking in. We showed up on time. It took an hour to get another truck, and we were told we had to have to back within 3 hours because it was reserved for another customer that afternoon. I overheard 3 other customers come in while I was there saying they had a reservation for a truck, but no trucks were available. You can improve by not giving reserved trucks away, or removing the reservation system altogether and making it first come first serve. We had movers waiting on us for an hour while we dealt with trying to get a truck.Darren P.

Bardstown was my 3rd attempt at trying to return this rental. My original return location was market street/ boost mobile which was no longer there. Then, I tried to return to the location on Preston highway which was also shutdown. I finally got lucky with Bardstown. Also ,when I called your phone # for assistance the wait times were over an hour. Wasted a lot of time & gas running around town trying to find one of your locations still in business.Leroy D.

Went to pick up my U-Haul that i rented the evening before. I booked it for 5 hours. When i got there, i was trying to check in online but it wouldn't let me. The woman at the counter yells â€œWHO IS DOING THAT?â€ and looks dead at me, with an entire line of people, and scolds me â€œare you trying to check in on your phone???â€ Then it's my turn to get to the counter, i tell the woman my name and she instantly becomes flustered and starts to act confused. She ends up saying they gave my U-Haul to someone else because â€œwe kept calling your name in line but you weren't answering so we gave it to somebody elseâ€ â€¦â€¦.ok i wasn't at the store yet so that's why i wasn't answering. And i asked her why didn't they call my phone? And she said they don't call phones. Then the people in line next to me say â€œsame thing happened to us. We've been here an hour because they gave our U-Haul to someone elseâ€¦â€ then they try to give me a smaller U-Haul, which would require multiple trips for my move, and proceeds to tell me they would need it back in 3 hours because someone else needs it then. I said, do i get a discount? Since it's a smaller U-Haul than the one i booked and it'll require more trips and I'm now on a time limit due to your mistake? She told me she can't give me a discount. Then they give this back up U-Haul to someone els. HA. So not only do they give my U-Haul i reserved away, but they give up the U-Haul they were giving me as a backup. Then, they come up with a different truck they were able to give me. She discounted the mileage. The whole thing was ridiculous.Shelby D.

Overcharged and told that the drop off location would provide credit. Received a note from general manager telling drop off location to provide credit. Drop off location said they had no possible way to do it and the received location could have fixed it quickly with a redispatch. Wait time too long, even with reservation. Assigned trailer was parked behind another trailer and very close to truck parked beside it. Why couldn't we be assigned the trailer that was in front and easy to get to? My friend and I had to manually pull this trailer out. In the process, I fell on the asphalt (I'm 67 yrs old). My friend who was trying to help is 66. When we brought it back, we had to disconnect it ourself. No help, even though I went inside and told them we were returning trailer. Employees just don't care. Piss poor customer service. I don't know how you stay in business.Stephen C.

Staff always helpful at this location, but the initial UHaul pulled out at street to rent had Check Engine light on and was told it was just a malfunction to go ahead and take, but I requested another one as I didn't want to take a chance on an mechanical issue. Your company should fix this vehicle and computer system to reflect the switching out to another one, as I couldn't properly answer questions about what was thought to be the UHaul rented and driving. Would be better if the actual one I drove off with was updated too in the system. Overall though a good place to rent trucks.LISA O.

When dealing with the people at this location it was TERRIBLE. Day one arriving to Kentucky I was treated so disrespectful I was shocked by the way I was being treated. I also only had 30 days for a free unit . I had to reach out to the 800 number as no one wanted to pick up my call . I sent several emails . Went over every email with the lady I spoke over the phone . She even agrees this is unreal how long for them to respond to me . I have never had any issues with renting trailers, vans or trucks before from this location. It is my go to Uhaul center. I rented a moving truck and there was something wrong with the motor. After getting some speed and them braked, the motor would seem to get stuck on the higher revolutions until it got unstuck. It was never wracking. The folks at this Uhaul center have always been kind and thoughtful but the truck I rented this time needed some attention under the hood. Also, the tire light was on all the time. The agent advised me that the tires have been checked and they were fine. Which they were.Haydee C.

No complaints, I was offered a free month of storage after a truck rental and that's what I got, no hidden fees, no gimmicks. Staff was straightforward and efficient, as was the entire process. These was the rudest people I've ever dealt with in my life. I asked upfront how much it would cost how much it would be all together and I was told right at $28 but when I brought it back I drove it 14 miles and when I brought it back they charged me $41 and something when I tried to explain that diesel guy had told me $28 plus tax that was very rude. When I first went in I had just got off work yes I was darty the man kept saying you need a major credit card I kept saying OK and he kept saying it over and over again do you have a major credit card do you have a major credit card and I kept saying yes I guess the way I looked they didn't think I could afford a major credit card or what the deal was. This was actually the second time I have been to this location the first time I stood there for about 20 minutes because I wanted to rent a 20 foot truck and nobody would speak to me look at me or nothing so yeah I would not recommend this place to anyonechristina T.

Make sure the rental truck is on full or near. Gas is expensive! I spent $100 upfront because the truck was given to me on empty. I was told I would get am auto transport and when I got there, there wasn't one available. It became available 2 to 3 hrs later. I didn't have time to drive 25 minutes to go back to get it. I was moving to another state and needed to get on the road. It was not a very pleasant experience.Talonda E.

That Bardstown location in Louisville is WILD. First the man that was supposed to be waiting on us was extremely distracted by his coworker and the two were arguing over the fact that he wanted her phone number. Then he just completely walked away, like what? Then the lady said she guesses she'll help us. But in a turn of events she played on her phone while we stood there. Eventually she started to get us situated but then the unthinkable happened. A man walked back inside to ask a question and she yelled â€œget your ass back outside I told you where to go.â€ She turned to us and said, â€œI already told that customer where to go.â€ At this point I'm thinking I'm on a tv show. Then guess what happens? She randomly runs out front because a coworker was getting food delivered from a mysterious girl. So the lady runs outside yelling â€œwho is this chick, your side piece, your hoe??!!â€ A long time after we finally got on our way and the uhaul itself was fine. But man that place you're running there is chaos, but entertaining lol.Bradley Z.

There is always a very long delay in getting equipment checked out for use. The truck was reasonably clean. The check in process was quick. Just leave the keys in the truck. The workers were courteous.SHERRY L.
The did not have the trailer that I had reserved at this or any location at the time of my scheduled pick up. I had to reschedule everything at the last minute. I rescheduled the pick up for the next morning and had to wait for the correct trailer to be returned.James H.
Checkin to pick up was a mess. Check in would have been easier if the workers did their job and got vehicles checked in. Everyone had to wait til they went out find vehicles to check them in. Then we returned our vehicle early around 5 pm (due in at 8:30 next morning). However, at 10:20 the next morning they called and left a message that it hadn't been returned! Message included wring # to call back, and they didn't answer the store phone. We drove up there and they looked and laughed and said it was turned. Just â€œtook a while to process throughâ€. Really?? Took 14 hours??? Absolute mess!!!!! We've rented from here numerous times over the past 6 years but this is UNACCEPTABLE!! We will be looking for other options for our next rental and I will not be recommending this uhaul site to anyone.Gary S.

I showed up on time to pick up reservation. There were no other customers there at the time and it took almost an hour to get my truck & tow. First the staff seemed like they didn't know I had a reservation despite the scheduled pick up time & date. Next it was not ready to go at all. The man had to get the truck then go around to find a car tow to attach. When I went to place my car on the first time, the tow was broken/not attached properly. Thank goodness the gentleman found someone else to help. I could've sworn I heard the first man say that he had "never done this before" (not sure if that referred to attaching a tow...). They then told me that they needed to find a new car tow. This process added an additional 20+ mins easily. I left feeling uneasy about my safety and if the equipment was properly attached/inspected.AMY S.

The truck was disgusting inside. Tobacco spilled everywhere and the whole cab reaked of cigarettes. There was trash left in the back of the truck as well. I noticed quickly once leaving with the truck that it was driving strange. The axels are completely off kilter and the entire trucks fish tails. I rented a trailer in the middle of the day and they would not let me take the trailer because I did not have trailer wiring. I understand that was the policy. I asked the manager 5 times what I needed to do to cancel the rental agreement. He told me that he would cancel the agreement each time I asked. He said that I would not be charged since I never left the property. The next day I received an email stating that I was charged for the rental. The Bardstown Road location in Louisville needs to get someone that knows what is going on. It seemed very disorganized. Employees were not trained well and they did not seemed to know what to do. We vacated our storage unit 8 days before the end of the paid month and told the staff. Still, we continued to receive emails demanding payment for the following month and threatening liens and other procedures if we didn't pay up. It wasn't until we went back and visited in person, again, that the situation got resolved. Terribke location. Never going to use for storage ever again. Uhaul never vacated me after spending 4 weeks basically calling them and being placed on hold. I can assure you if i have a balance on my record i will be contacting a lawyer because no one at that facility gives a hoot. My original reservation was cancelled because they had no trucks. Rescheduled me and had to stand in a 2 1/2 hr line because they had no trucks. Luckily by that time somebody returned a truck. Every time I went in to make a payment on my storage unit, I waited at least 30 minutes to an hour every time. I waited so long once that the person behind the counter promised he would credit my account $25. But then he had "computer issues" and said that he would credit my card the next day. That credit never came. I mentioned it to someone the next month, and they said they would take care of it, but they didn't. I gave up trying to get it back.
