I waited in line for over 20 minutes without the line moving at all. The man working was obviously a very slow worker. It was also really hot in the building. I eventually just walked up to the counter and gave them my keys without being able to talk to a representative because I did not have time to waste.Harrison S.
Picking up my rental was fine. The parking lot was packed with trucks so it was difficult to drive in. When I returned, it was terrible. AC in the building was either not on, or didn't work. There were two people working but five people in line. I stood in line in a 100 degree room for about 30 minutes as one employee was dealing with a guy disputing his mileage, and the other employee was trying to move trucks around so customers could get into the parking lot. When helped the employee wanted me to back the trailer in between to customer vehicles. I'm pretty good with a trailer but asking someone to back a trailer up in between two customer vehicles is an accident waiting to happen. When I pulled forward so I could reverse into the spot, another vehicle pulled behind me, blocking the spot and preventing me from backing in. I was hopeful the employee would direct some traffic so I could back up but instead he had walked off. I was forced to pull out of the parking lot and renter, but by this time the entrance was completely blocked with trucks. The employee saw me back at the entrance. He was visibly frustrated and threw his towel into another trailer. I tried to explain what happened but he ignored me and started unhooking the trailer. I put my truck in park and got out to talk to him. Again, trying to explain what happened he said â€œIt's fine.â€ He unhooked the trailer and dragged it through the grass, put it down, and walked away. I yelled and asked him if I needed to do anything else and he just gave me a thumbs up and walked away. I totally understand the frustration. It's hot, they're busy, seem understaffed, but your employees shouldn't take their frustrations out on customers.JASON K.

My daughter and I rented a cargo van from this location and we can't say enough about Julie, Patrick and Norvell. These 3 went above and beyond and made our U-Haul experience an awesome one! Julie, checked us in. She was fast, efficient and personable. They were busy but we didn't feel rushed at all. Here's what stuck out to me. I was in a rental car and the tires were low. I asked Julie if she knew of a station close by that had air. Instead of directing me to a station down the road, she told me to pull my car up and use the U-Haul air. To my surprise, Patrick checked the air in all 4 tires and filled them up for me. Now that's what I call customer service! We realized we would need the van longer than we had anticipated. I called and spoke with Patrick. He told me that it wouldn't be a problem and what time I needed to have the van back to avoid being charged extra. We returned the van the next morning. It was extremely busy and Norvell seemed to be by himself but he was still pleasant and personable. If he was stressed, it didn't show. All 3 made our experience unforgettable. somehow a dolly got placed on my order at checkout in Austin, I told the customer service guy that I did not order that and he said he would take it off. I reminded him to make sure he took it off so I don't get charged. I drive to Houston to return the utility van and they mentioned the dolly which has not been returned. They claimed they could not take that off since it was not ordered from there facility. I called the Austin office and nobody answered. After Over half an hour of trying to figure it out I gave up. Hopefully I don't get charge for the dolly. Clerk at the office tonight it's not very friendly. The Houston office was very friendly though.Mauricio P.

The customer service two times was horrible . First time General Norvelle ,was rude cutting me off and they tried to overcharge me for pick up and asking me where did go , also last week he gave me the time out sign while a grown woman was trying to explain myself and was so rude,gave a dirty truck and second Ram truck tire pressure was low twice on the truck brought back when first left and brought back again and Norvelle the GM said," This air should last until tomorrow ".Not knowing where we have to go not caring clearly. Today it was a gentleman with sunglasses inside looking at the gas hand and mileage was correct I only paid for 75 miles and used 58,3 screenshots of gas hand was not full and I put it back where it was the truck mileage before we left was 10 108,9 and I used 10 167,2 ! I was charged for 85 miles but used less and was charged over the price please I was treated poorly both times with a witness with proof I have pictures . I will not use their services again. I will like to be reimbursed for my problems with this location.THOMASINA P.

not a problem with this location...they were very professional and helpful. however, U Haul needs to do a better job of explaining why a reservation for 1 location for a 9:30 pickup wasn't timely communicated to us. we went to the scheduled location at the scheduled time only to learn that we had to go to another location for an 11:00 pickup, when we needed to be well on our way by that time. I understand U Haul is often at the scheduling mercy of people not returning equipment on time or to the right location, but a better communication system with scheduled pick ups could be very helpful...or at least an early warning system if the equipment or time isn't going to work the way it was set up.jack G.

The built-in trailer braking (on the tongue) was in dire need of lubrication and maintenance. The brakes seemed to work well, but were very noisy (the sliding shafts were dry and rusted). The trailer, while a bit old/beaten up worked well overall.KEVIN T.

My negative comments relate to the self storage component. The drop off process for the trailer was fine and the employees were helpful. We were assigned a storage unit on the second floor because that is all that was available. However, there is no elevator. Who in the Hell designs a storage facility with multiple floors and no elevator? And if this is the case, it needs to be very clear that there is no elevator. Extremely disappointing.Menton M.

My sales rep was top notch, helpful but light hearted and professional. The truck was A+, you should offer newer trucks for an additional fee because this truck was new/new and I appreciated it compared to the 20+ times I've rented uhaul before and obviously the norm is â€œseasonedâ€ trucks â€¦â€¦ :)MICHAEL T.

The process was confusing and the staff gave me different information than had been provided by the website. I had made a reservation for a specific unit but when I arrived they said they did not have any of that unit available. Thankfully I was able to get a suitable replacement on site, but my reservation was completely useless and made the process confusing. Also the cashier said that locks weren't provided so I bought one, but then one was in my unit when I opened it. Also I had asked about if I need to give a notice before I intend to vacate and they said I didn't, but then a sign inside the unit said I did need to do that. The process just has left me not very trusting of Uhaul because I cannot seem to get a straight or reliable answer on anything.Colin S. | Premières impressions

The cabin had a little bit of a smell to it. Not gross but not clean. The steering wheel felt flimsy at times. There was a small travel time before I actually felt resistance and then another second before I felt the tires turn.Marcanthony C.

This was the only place that had a truck for us to rent. Original place of pick up for a reserved truck issued us a truck with brake problems and was told, "We've had it checked twice but they did not find a problem." which was not comforting especially with a 155 mole drive ahead. I would recommend ensuring safety of all vehicles and removing the questionable ones from the lot.ERWIN R.

The GM is disrespectful and rude! Hung up on me in the middle of my sentence bc he was mad at Julie for how she set up my delivery to trailer! Will never use them again bc of him! JULIE ON THE OTHER HAND was very kind and understanding and made accommodations for me which I paid, but the GM â€œJuile's bossâ€ as he put it said he makes the decision not her and I needed to return the trailer to that location even though my contract said otherwise, put me on hold for 4-5 mins came back and said I can drop it anywhere and as I was asking if he needed the address he hung the phone up in my ear! He's very bad for business and unprofessional! Should have known with all the negative reviews on that location from Google!KARA P.
I reserved a specific vehicle, at a specific time, from a specific location. The morning of, I found out y'all had changed the location in me to 20 minutes away. When I showed up there to pickup with mobile dispatch at 6am, I was notified during pickup that I needed to come back at 7 when the place opened. I will literally never use UHaul again after two terrible experiences two days in a row. Y'all are the absolute worst.Nicholas M.

Driving experience of this rental ford 20' truck was very bed and rough because of truck maintenance. It was not at all smooth driving. When I finally made it to the final location it was all fine. Just the Online bullshit. I reserved a motorcycle trailer and truck a week in advance. The location that the reservation sent me to apparently didn't have the reservation. So they sent me to another one 15-20 mins way. I arrived to find out they had no idea what i needed. They sent me back to the one which was the one I had originally tried to rent from â€˜they were closest to my house'. Alllegedly they were the only location with a motorcycle trailer in stock, which is funny because the online reservations said they had none available. So after 3 locations, after booking a week in advance, I finally got what I needed to make the short trip to the motorcycle shop. Shouldn't have ever sold my truck. Uhaul is a joke and a half when it comes to customer service. But the north burnett Austin location was perfect in all aspects, they had everything catered to me on point. PSA to u-haul, get your online reservation shit together, I will never use uhaul again, but if the times call for a need, the only reason I will acquire a uhaul is because of the final location being sincere with their customer service. I wasted 1,5 hours trying to acquire a uhaul which happened to be a waste of a time sensitive day. Figure your shit out.Nathaniel A.
Better wages for employees so they want to come to work and work. Or hire more if the location needs it. There is no justification for someone standing in line for 20 minutes to hear there are no rentals available or you missed your reservation time. Also, vehicles should be cleaned right away and no smoking should be allowed in the vehicles. My rental smelled like an ashtray with cigarette ashes everywhere in the cab. The vehicles should be checked routinely. My rental also had no horn. Lastly, asking a customer if they will need the vehicles for more than 6 hours or renting a vehicle and telling that renter they NEED to have it back before closing is rude. If your rates are per block hours, then say it. I as a renter am under the impression that the price is per day. If you want to double dip from each vehicle, then rent them by the hour.ROLAND L.

Everything about this experience was so great! Everyone was super friendly and nice even though I was doing the U-Haul Share so no one had an obligation to interact with me. I was told I would qualify for a free month over the phone with a U-Haul employee and I made sure to call and make a reservation to make sure I qualified. When i actually tried to move in my reservation was nowhere to be found and said there was a stipulation for moving from out of town- this was not stated in the advertisement and on the page that said all you had to do was rent a truck so the experience was very frustrating and inconvenient, since I planned my whole move around this. Had to rent van for another day, un expected expense, because the access hours at the facility were not clearly communicated. I spoke to management and staff about this, they seemed indifferent and the same lack of communication is most likely going to repeat itself again and again, costing customers time and money. SOLUTION: Post accurate access hours at storage entrance and update this locations webpage with hours of availability, including the option for 24-hour access.
