Try harder not to have my credit card skimmed. Before I left the lot someone made a phone call to fraudulently charge on my credit card. This was the only place the card had been used in a month and I scratched out the 3 #s on the back so it had to have been from a skimmer on your machines because they knew the code.

Everything went well. Did have a problem with my reservation but it was handle in a proper way and as a customer I was satisfied. The only problem I did have after leaving the place was that the lights on the trailer were not working. Driving at night the lights did not turn on. I yet to hear from the general manager to dispute the problem I had because I had to rent it for 2 days and only needed it for 1 day.

My experience here was not pleasant. Right when i get there, there was no line and there were two workers in he front desk. Both of them were on there phones and chit chatting with one another. One worker called me and said i can help you, and as soon as she calls me over she gets on her phone and looks down. I stood in front of her for a good 2 minutes as she continues to chit chat with her coworker. When i spoke up and asked her if she would help me, her response was "Oh I forgot i called you, i didnt see you there" and then laughed with her coworker. I dont know if these ladies just dont want to work, if thats the case then maybe find another job.

The truck was not accessible for 24/7 pick up; it was in the middle of several vehicles. I ended up going through customer service to check out the truck. The truck was clean but no evidence of being disinfected of COVID-19.

I have been here between 5-10 years. The past couple of years I have always found it clean. Obviously there is trash that appears all of a sudden but I have noticed either someone cleans it up while on their regular rounds or someone is sent up to clean it. Very well run storage property. I regret not taking a picture of the fuel needle because if we had seen it was 1/8 full we would have fueled the truck.A 30 $service fee for gas and all the little hidden costs of the rental was absurd. The company should be up front about the environmental fee, rental tax etc. I will NEVER rent from U-Haul again.

I'll say that y'all had saved our lives by having a truck/tow trailer available and having helped us despite of not having a reservation. Our car was stranded about 130 miles away from home and we need to get it back home. However I'd say keep your cars well maintained and clean. I saw some smudges on the window and was told that the car needed maintenance. Wasn't scared about it but if it broke down on the way back with the car, it would have been a pain and 3.

The storage room assigned to me is up a flight of stairs. I have to lug all my items up and down piece by piece. When I placed the order online I was not informed about the stairs.

It would be even better if the staff treats customers more professionally. I felt i wasn't treated very professionally specially by the guy who i returned the vehicle to and the one at the desk in the evening. The lady at desk in the morning handled me as a customer professionally.

In my two years of having a storage unit at this location I can say that all services rendered and provided were done so in a professional manner. Never had any issues in getting to and from my storage unit. Staff were always helpful they get a 10/10. If carts weren't easily available, a hand truck was provided as an alternative.

It was hell getting them to approve my identification. They should've told me that they needed to verify identity prior to showing up. After having it approved, then they sent me to another number to process it and they asked me for the same info and had to reapprove me for identity. Then the lock to retrieve the key was broken. I arrived on time at 9:30 and then I had to proceed to another location to pick up the vehicle but this took forever. I ended up getting my rental 2 hours late as they had to verify my identity FOR THE THIRD TIME!!!!! This ended up costing me money with the movers I had hired. Worse experience with a rental. I need a huge discount for this absurd experience!!!!

The key people working there were not helpful at all. Just gave me a key and pointed outside and said, “your truck is way back there”... There were like 30 trucks or more. I got to the truck and there was no dolly or furniture pads that I ordered. I had to run around looking for someone to help. They said (very rudely), “you have to get those yourself.” What?!?? Help your customers! That is your job.

I am complaining bitterly that UHAUL takes advantages of me immorally. I rented a trailer for loading a motorcycle however I could not open the back flat bed door due to its tightening, locking metal stick. I was unjustly denied to get a refund when I was told about why to use a rental trailer. It was unacceptable. Again, I was charged unfairly that I decided not to rent a dolly. I changed minds that I purchased the new dolly at my own expense. I demanded that it must be the stupid, unthinkable clerk's neglected mistake and that I must get two full refunds immediately. I am reporting my two complaint incidents to the government authorities recently. I am ordering my bank by forcing two stop payments for refunds. Miscommunication, misinformation and misunderstanding are the major serious issues. The clerks do not follow my clear, simple instructions. They are disqualified and are not well trained how to deal with me and disabled customers. It is the UHAUL's major fault.

Wasn't allowed to get the truck myself, though they said it was an option, because of that I got the truck 15 minutes after the contract time. I returned the truck 15 minutes early and was told "you can go, you will be billed". When I received the bill it said I returned the truck an hour late! The place is shady. If I went into the office to return the truck the bill would have been fine, but I had to rely on a girl who was more interested in hanging out with her friends than checking in my truck properly.

Close down the 1525 Bryant St U-haul location. I originally had this order scheduled for pickup at that location. Granted, I was picking up the truck around the holidays, however, I had the worst experience with the customer facing U-haul reps there. They were entitled, rude, disrespectful and completely unhelpful to me. Almost makes me want to consider using a different truck rental service.

The sales person that helped me inside was not wearing a mask - it was around her chin. When I commented on this, she rolled her eyes pulled it over her mouth and not nose. She left it there for about 30 seconds and then pulled it back down again. I had to finish the rest of the drawn out checkout process with her mask off which made me very uncomfortable and in unhappy given the pandemic situation. There were plenty of other staff around all of whom were wearing masks, but none of them mentioned anything to this employee (who seemed to be the newest). Presumably the store manager would have noticed and said something to her. The rest of my interactions while there (e.g. the guy who set up my trailer) were pleasant and covid safe.

As situation changed during our move, due to Christmas, and help, we were able to adjust our rental to meet our needs better. All worked out great. People we talked to ok n the phone and return facility were great. The pickup location was a bit sketchy, but that's S.F. going down hill, I will definitely recommend Uhaul to any one moving, reservation was pretty easy, smart phone access to information, rental agreement, ability to update our needs as they changed was great!!

Poor experience with uhaul in general. First booked 1525 bryant online for 3 hours starting 2 pm but wasn't informed by the system that I won't be able to return. Was suggested hundred things to buy while booking and purchased mattress covers but at the location it didn't come up as I have purchased. People at the location weren't wearing masks. Didn't tell me the exact location of parked truck and gas was lower than 3/8. When filling up the truck it was acting up as tank is full. Uhaul sucked badly. Please fix online systems and offline business

I used the mobile app to check in and the fuel level was lower then what was listed, I took a picture of the correct fuel level during check in (as requested by the mobile app) and returned the rental with the correct fuel level, but I was still charged a surcharge to bring the fuel level up to the (incorrect) listed level

We had a confirmed reservation for 7:30am pickup, I confirmed the time at 11pm the night beforehand, when we arrived we were told “it had been rescheduled due to the equipment not being returned yet” - There were 4 other 6x12 trailers in the lot available, but we were told we could not take one due to other reservations prior to ours. Which makes no sense considering I scheduled to be the FIRST pickup of the day, but we agreed to come back at 12:30pm when our equipment was supposed to be returned. When we returned, we waited for our equipment and by 1:30 it had not arrived. The very unhelpful representative finally agreed to call the person who was supposed to be returning the equipment - they said they would be at the location in 15-20 minutes. We waited another hour and finally called the central Uhaul number because the representatives would not tell us anything. THATS WHEN WE WERE TOLD THE PERSON PRIOR TO US CALLED IN 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO EXTEND THEIR RESERVATION WHICH WAS APPROVED. So we were a day and a half late to start a 16+ hour drive with only 2,5 days off from work. The representatives at the locations were rude and unhelpful, and Uhaul's reservations systems allowed an extension on a reservation that the next people were WAITING ON SITE FOR. Better communication, better back up equipment options, better IT systems could have avoided all of our frustrations. We will be buying our own trailer or renting from any other vendor for our next move as a result.

Multiple people in this location waiting several hours for their rentals. Online check in did nothing to speed the process. Rental was not on site and the site did not know it was not there until I arrived to rent it. Spent over 4 hours at the site trying to get my reservation filled. Karen Morales was excellent. She did everything in her power and finally got a replacement authorized and got me on my way.

The desk guy should have told me that the truck has blankets and a dolly. Then I wouldn't have bothered getting 2 dollies and sooo many blankets. Also he should have mentioned that I needed to fold the blankets before returning. Other than that it was great and empowering to take care of my move by myself.

The woman at the register was extremely rude and clearly did not care about helping out the customers. She was on her cell phone while she was talking to me and shoved my paperwork towards me while looking down at her phone. She also had her mask pulled all the way down to where is wasn't covering her nose or mouth. On a different note the gentlemen outside helping us out with the tow dolly were a lot more friendly and attentive. Though they were not aware of how a car should be towed because they advised me to leave my front wheel drive car in neutral and with the e-brake on the entire 400 mile trip. Cars do not turn off while in neutral so essentially they were telling me to leave my car on that entire time. Very frustrating and stressful when you are given wrong information and can potentially be damaging to customers cars. Fortunately I thought that sounded odd so I called with my dad to confirm. He informed me otherwise and I followed his directions.

The booking and checkin experience was terrible , several ping waiting calls with customer support and the folks at the counter were clueless about their own Inventory. Apparently not willing to go beyond what their screen was showing or trying to find a solution, think outside the box. They told they had a truck and I hadn't a truck , then I had one, then hadn't , customer support fixed it in the end.

I received a call as I was driving to pick up a truck I ordered online at 1525 Bryant St., SF when the store informed me the truck is not available and directed me to the Bay Shore location. I waited for an email confirmation but none came. I went to Bay Shore store and the manager told me they were not notified about the change and they have no truck available. Luckily as we were talking one came in that I was able to use. I returned the truck and realized later that I left my jacket in the cab. I called U-Haul help line and they said they will email the store to check and the store will contact me. I have not heard back yet.

add trackers to your trucks to help people who's truck is stolen. and don't send a survey like it was a normal transaction. the whole thing has been incredibly difficult and getting this survey that shows the place my empty truck showed up as the 'drop off location' is in terribly poor taste. have a heart, everything I owned is gone and you're asking if the location was clean? who cares

This place has the worst customer service. There were long lines, even when doing self-check-in you have to wait to pick up your keys inside. Then, you have to roam around the whole lot to find the truck you've been assigned. I was first assigned a truck that wasn't even present on the lot. Do not go here.

My schedule for picking up the van was 11:30am. I walked thru the process which was not very intuitive but I got thru. However, as I was supposed to pick up the key at the front desk, the key was no where to be found. The agent called the whole crew at the site and I followed him walking thru different areas and still wasn't able to locate the key. Then I spent 30 mins at the front desk for him to re-do the contract in order to give me another vehicle to use. I got the key of the newly assigned vehicle at 12:45pm. The problem didn't stop there. The check-out app that I needed to ensure there's no scratches or problem with the van STALLED. I wasn't able to go thru the whole check out process. The app didn't allow me to upload pictures because I hit the max. # to be uploaded. There's issue with what they said on the paperwork the fuel level and what I saw the actual fuel level shown on the dashboard. The agent there said don't worry, it would be ok. I returned the vehicle and refuel it at the level I believe was the original. The agent at the return station agreed that he wouldn't charge me for any fuel charges. Next day, I received a receipt showing 19 $- for 4 gallon of fuel. This is just absolutely horrifying experience. Bad service, poor operation, buggy technology, dirty equipment (there is no windshield liquid/water and the windshield was dirty)...

Most everything where's my recent experience at U-Haul went as expected with the exception of one thing. I rented a 10 foot box truck and the check engine light was on. This truck had a gauge which showed whether I was economizing fuel properly or not. Of course because the check engine light was on I know something was wrong with the truck and the gauge clearly was reading and I was not getting the proper amount of miles per gallon because the truck what is not tuned up and running well. I only drove 34 miles but I guarantee you that it costed me more and gas than a well running truck would have and should have. This is the first time that I've ever experienced anything like this and it's just something that hopefully will be better next time. Believe It or Not U-Haul is the easiest place for renting a truck and really the only place that I know of. I think I'm going to stay using U-Haul when I need to. Also I understand it's a great place to work for you young people so think about it.

This was the worst experience I've ever had hands down and you better believe this won't be the only place I'm reaching out about it. every review channel every phone number you have... expect to hear from me. After being told my the van company that we could only have the van till 5 even tho we rented it for the day because "other people needed it" our movers were then 2 hours late (booked by UHaul) and when we got to your "facility" we are told the unit size we reserved not only isn't available but doesn't exist. at which point the dude who was "helping us" called over Wendy who obviously couldn't care less about what was happening even though I had 2 movers waiting that had already completely unloaded our van and STILL she wanted to make us go to the Bryant location to get a Ubox from them instead. The most mismanaged badly run facility i've ever seen. While i was there i heard 2 other people have meltdowns because you guys ruined their reservations and took payment for services you could not provide. whoever the GM is, expect to be hearing from me. I had to pay my movers an extra 120 $to stay another hour since this dumpster fire of a situation took up an hour of the time they were supposed to be moving my stuff into the unit. On top of this nightmare the one locker available was at the top of a pully ladder stacked ontop of another unit. AND IT'S 40 $+ MORE THAN WHAT I RESERVED ONLINE. I expect this price match to be met after this hellfire saga. I have to say the mismanagement of this location is a joke. Your employees are working class people that don't deserve the abuse they get from their customers because of how badly your management runs this location. FIRE HIM.

Elevators out of order. Rodent eating my furniture. No supervision of other customers, not even a guideline, so once I came upon a man clipping his toenails in the aisle. Another time, a customer took every single cart and the staff would do nothing about it. One of my cards never worked, and one of the latches was so warped it took 15 minutes to be locked.

I waited for a very long time for the sole staff available (20 min). I had rented an 8x8x8 storage. She had to unlock the storage first, yet she chose to take care of the next client. After waiting for an additional 10 min, we proceeded to my storage unit. I discovered that a quarter of the unit was occupied by a very large column (2,5 x 3). She mentioned she knew about it and almost insinuated that I should have known; she insisted that it was an 8x8x8. The unit was useless to me as I needed to place 2 large items (a couch and an erg machine). She refused to upgrade me. She refused to help out finding an alternate facility. I eventually had to drive close to 30 miles away to be able to store my items. A terrible experience unlike the one at the Oakland Coliseum's. I will never rent from the Bayshore location ever again.

The facility, like most of the vehicles, is old and looks like it will fall apart at any moment. The app and website are counterintuitive. The patient frontline employees are really the only saving grace. I pity them.

The storage was fine but the truck wasnt I almost killed a man on Friday July 10 with the UHaul truck the brakes were messed up please have your mechanics check the brakes Thank God I didnt hit that man.

It's a terrible facility run by rude and unprofessional people. The employees were always slow and inefficient. There are way to homeless and unstable people lurking around and loitering, so much so that I never felt safe. I moved to another facility nearby and am paying nearly double in order to not have to deal with your facility and employees anymore.

The average rating is because of the elevator, it should be stressed personally to all customers CLOSE ELEVATOR DOORS, that makes for a very long and costly day where you don't can't finish moving.
