Went to pick up my rental trailer that I booked 2 weeks previously. I was told it was not available. No one called to give a heads up this was happening. After a discussion with the worker I was able to convince him to let me rent a smaller enclosed trailer for the day that was assigned to be a one way trailer. I rely on these rental to move product from my house to conventions. If I can't move product, I won't be able to sell my goods at the convention, not only loosing income possibilities but I would of forfeit my $200 table fees. Luckily the worker, bent the rules and got me a smaller trailer so I could move most of my goods.

The cost was much higher than most other providers. Most places do not charge mileage and I feel people are being ripped off by uhaul for mileage. What I ended up paying is robbery and I will never rent a van from uhaul ever again.

Ryan Wieler (General Manager) went out of his way to assist me when I brought my concern to him about one of the units that appeared to be a drainage reservoir for water that was in the floor of the storage unit. Ryan quickly addressed the matter and found another storage unit. He was patient and took my concern seriously, which is important to me. Customer service has immensely improved since Ryan, Nic, and their team took over from the previous GM and her team. Despite the issues with the previous GM, the Century St storage facility has always been awesome in terms of convenience and a lot of storage space throughout the many years I have been a customer. So again, thank you Ryan and Nic for everything you have done to help me out. Greatly appreciate it!!

The equipment I picked up was fine and in good condition. However, I was told when booking it with your USA located staffer, that the charge would be $14,95 Cdn. When I picked up the equipment I was told the charge would be $19.99, and that in fact is what I had to pay in order to get it. I felt I had been lied to. Further, anytime I have booked equipment the staff in Canada are polite and considerate. The same cannot be said for USA located staff. They are arrogant, and often rude, as was the person to whom I talked at first, saying to me when I questioned a process, "I guess you work here and I don't." If I have to deal with a USerland owned company, I wish at least I would not have to deal with USer people. They have a lack of manners.

I was given the truck with 13 miles til empty. The fuel policy continues to be ridiculous. Customers should leave with a full tank and return with a full tank, period. Instead, I have stop for gas the minute I leave the lot and ruin my schedule. Also, the transmission on my dc unit likely needs servicing, it struggles to change gears.

Would have preferred my original pick up location. Having to travel 2 hours to get the truck during an already busy moving day was an inconvenience. Cruise control on the truck would have made for a much more comfortable drive.

I was overcharged for my 4 hour truck use on mileage. I was both overcharged for the amount per km itself $1,75 vs the $1,09 I was quoted online plus I overestimated how many KMs I actually drove when I booked but this was not corrected even though I pointed it out at the time of return.

This was an incredibly positive experience for me. One example is that I reserved a dolly with my rental, but left it at the Uhaul place. The $7 was deducted from my invoice when it did not have to be.

Had reservation for 7:30am pickup. Got change to 11am at regent w. When got to regent w they didn't have trailer, got sent back to century where they had a trailer which marker lights didn't work. Very poor experience

Your company is an absolute shambles. Twice I booked a moving van, twice you guaranteed it, and twice you screwed me by not having a truck available. Your employees on the ground are infinitely more capable than those in your corporate offices, and you all should be ashamed. Get bent.

I did not want to pick up truck from this location. Location was tooooooo far, tooooo far, But not matter where I booked a truck. They all reseduled to this location. Its like the only location to pick trucks up in Winnipeg.

It took a long time to get everything going. My reservation was for 10 am and the trailer was stollen so I had to go to another location...this took lots of extra time, kms and fuel that I had to cover to pick up and drop off at seperate locations...so I wasn't happy about this...very stressful day to move I had to pay for a babysitter because I wasn't home in time for my son...

We have an issue. Drove through a rainstorm and water was pouring in up by where the seatbelt is attached to the vehicle as well as through the front firewall. Absolutely soaked inside the vehicle, water running down the seatbelt and onto me. My clothing and shoes were soaked and the floor on the passenger side had a pool of water forming. This is not acceptable and we would like to be contacted regarding this matter.

Easiest u haul check in check out I have used to date. Typically I have anxiety waiting to hear that my truck is not available, need to drive across the city, rush to have it back in 4 hours because they've double booked etc. Got to century location, checked in within two minutes, truck was there, good for the whole day, keys in hand and gone within five minutes. I appreciate the ease of use of this location and the quick and capable staff. Made the whole day so much easier.

I don't understand why you charged us for 90 miles. We have the starting mileage and if you would have looked at the mileage when we brought it back there is no way it's close to 90 miles!

I am quite upset about my booking experience. I had requested a trailer for pick up at the location closest to my home. However days after I received an email saying I would be picking up the truck at a location 25 minutes from my home. I tried to call uhaul to see if another location (closer to my home) would have a trailer of a different size, however I was put on hold, and then I finally could talk to an agent, the agent said they would be right back and never returned. I kept trying to talk with someone to adjust my order, however none of the locations have a phone number (just the corporate number) and ever time I am waiting on hold and can't speak with someone. This left me having to drive 25 minutes to a pick up location on the other side of my city (even though there were three other closer locations) pick up the truck and waste kilometres driving to my house and back, which ended up costing my more money because I am charged per kilometre. The location and staff at the location was great, but I am not happy with Uhaul over all. I ended up wasting extra, unnecessary driving back and forth from the pick up/drop off location and charged way more then I was wanting to spend, however my hands felt tied because I had the reservation and needed the truck.

Customers were standing in line with no employee in sight. I left and went to another location but ironically this store ended up having the trailer I needed. Returning things were better but I wasn't the only customer who left on my first visit. A small change will yield results for sure.

Tow dolly had a tail light not working and could not be repaired. Tie down straps for toe dolly were bound up and I had to sort it out. I could not properly use the text to do vehicle checkout. There was only on person working in the morning and was not very efficient,

As I was leaving to pickup my uHaul I received a call telling me they had none available. The only thing they had was a bike trailer. I had book this at the beginning of the week and the last minute there telling me nothing is available. I was not happy. I did use the bike trailer because I needed something. Emily the service attendant handled it very well and was cool and calm in spite of me being very upset. I was certainly not pleased with Uhaul cancelling the last minute. I was on a time crunch to get my material to the contractor on time. I come to the understanding that booking with Uhaul is no guarantee that you will get what you booked and that they can cancel on you at the very last minute. I would call that poor quality business and I'd rate them at 1 star as far as guaranteeing a uhaul.

Hard to say. Found pick up staff rude and condescending. Had booked an appliance dolly weeks in advance, went for pick up, staff member basically told me I was out of luck, had to waste my time going to ANOTHER location to get what I had booked for this location. Would I recommend this location? Probably not to be honest. Staff needs serious training in dealing with customers and when something is booked in advance make sure they either have it or call customer. Personally if I owned this location and witnessed what happened to myself yesterday and the ignorance of staff, they would be immediately terminated.

I had a 26 foot truck reserved 2 weeks in advance . When I got there the staff member advised me that the last customer that had it out had yet to return it . I had no time to wait for it's return as I had people waiting to help me move . I told the staff member I could take a 20 footer to hurry things along and help him out . I asked him if it was the same price as the 26 footer and he said yes . I would of expected a discount on something due to the inconvenience. I had reserved the larger truck for a reason . As a result I was not able to complete my move all the same day as expected . I could have made another trip but that would have costed me a lot more money .

When I got the vehicle, I couldn't see the mileage. I wasn't shown ANYTHING about the vehicle - just given the keys. Once I did figure out the mileage is flashed for a second as soon as you start it, I saw that they had the mileage wrong on the contract I signed. I tried calling immediately but was unable to get through directly to the office I had rented from. I spoke to someone at the call centre and she told me she would call and leave a message for them. Nothing. There NEEDS to be a way to call the office directly, once out on the road. I kept trying to call for the next 2 hours. When I finally finished and arrived back, I let them know my concerns. What I found odd is that there were 4 employees just sitting there behind the desk doing nothing. Yet no one could answer the phone or do a vehicle walk-thru with me at the beginning?! Terrible customer service. Would not rent from there again.

Not impressed that the vehicle was not clean, both inside and out. I topped up the gas, however your employees still said there was not enough gas. Was dinged almost $25 to have extra gas added. I'm sure your company would not lose money with the gas being short. Not impressed that it's almost double the price than at a gas station. I won't be using your company for rental in the future.

A day before my reservation, I received very confusing communication from U-Haul regarding changed pickup locations as far away as 6,5 hours from my reservation location. After several hours on the phone and multiple transfers to some staff who made me feel that I was inconveniencing them, I finally received a confirmation my reservation would be available where it was originally scheduled. It was stressful. The trailer was great and performed well…..the customer support though, that needs some refinement. Best regards, Greg

What should have been a $60-70 charge turned into 138.91. I was MAJORLY overcharged! When I tried to call the location, I was put into a loop of 35 minutes of a robot telling me options and to keep hitting numbers. Not one of those options was to speak to a person!! I am now on my way into the location to deal with this in person. I am beyond furious

I've repeatedly used the U-Haul on King Edward in Winnipeg for my storage needs when necessary, both as a long term renter (3 years) & more recently for a short term 2 month rental. I've gotten to know the staff very well over the past few years & nearly everything was a first class experience. With this being said, there was a small issue. The rental space I was provided was at the extreme back of the building. This in itself was no problem at all. Staff was beyond accommodating to even get me space, which I appreciated. Notes were made on my account to inform me when a space closer to the front became available. Within days I was informed that a closer 10x10 unit was indeed available & I came down to move. There was a small charge for this service which I believe was $5.64. In addition, although I'd just booked a unit a handful of days prior, rates had suddenly increased & my bill was raised another $12.00. Upon paying these amount I went to get my lock off the other storage locker. I'll add that my unit was empty. The only thing being done was moving my lock to the new unit. Upon arrival I found that the new unit was against a perimeter wall & as such it was not nearly as well lit as the centre units. Making things worse were the bulbs to this units immediate left & right were burned out, making it very difficult to see into. I returned to the front office & rather than make work for the staff changing bulbs, simply asked to return to my old unit until another closer unit more central locker became available. This change was made but despite never moving an object, was informed I was being charged the moving cost as well as having my rent increased. I just moved out on July 31st, spending only 2 months renting the space. The only objects ever place inside was a single storage rack & a storage rack on wheels for objects that never made it to U-Haul. My friend asked me to provide him storage space while in the process of his divorce. One month in to the rental, he & his wife reconciled, but as it happened days into the 2nd month rental, I was stuck with the storage locker for a second month. I'm not asking for a refund of any kind. Simply bringing to your attention that the system as described to me by your very friendly & accommodating staff, prevented them from reversing the moving fee once it was created, not was it capable of changing the rent back to the what it originally was. Other than what amounted to an extra $20 in charges, everything about my experience was fantastic & should I need storage again in the future would not hesitate to return to this branch. I'll also add that the GM at this location helped me out when I found my storage rack on wheels could not fit into the vehicle I was driving, allowed me to return the following day to pick up as it was late in the day when all this occurred. Hours terrible. Doors don't work often, staff competent but not pleasant to deal with. Stuff placed where customers should load, lot is a pain to navigate around equipment. Used for convenience of location only.

I choose this location based on availability of a specific size unit (10x15). Made a reservation and check in date. Was told on arrival that yes i have a reservation but no 10x15 units were available. Given a 10x10 and Invited to return on Monday to inquire about 10x15. I wonder if there is some fine print somewhere that explains that a reservation for a specific size and date doesn't get you those things.

Longer hours for storage locker access would be nice. Like 9pm. But I know it's a security issue. Biometrics face or thumb recognition for access might get around this.

My first storage locker was 5' by 5' by 10' tall. This type of locker should be advertised differently as it is certainly not what I expected or needed.

I made a reservation for a 10 x 10 I get to the store no 10 x 10 available.!! She tries to give me a smaller unit which was 750 ft.² which I didn't think was big enough at the time. Then she tried to give me a more expensive unit than the 10 x 10. I felt I should've got that unit for the same price I made the reservation for. Not to mention the area where you unload and load the drive-in garage was just unbelievably dirty remind me of an old mechanic shop that never cleaned up. But after making a reservation with someone at U-Haul and I get to the place on the day that was reservation for and they didn't have my unit like the person on the phone said they would. Not a happy customer I don't understand why you guys would take a reservation for a certain unit size and then when I show up not have it. I should be getting a free months rent.

The staff were very friendly and the building seemed quite secure. Unfortunately, there was a leak over my unit which leaked all over my items. I was never notified of a leak, so I didn't realize what happened until I went to my unit to move out. I had my furniture covered in plastic dust covers for the most part but dirty water still made it through some of the seams of the plastic covers. Staff let me know I need to call the insurance company, but I am just overall disappointed in the facility that some of my items were ruined while in storage. I would not store again or recommend to a friend.

Upon check in, explanation was so fast I didn't understand that I had to swipe my card when I go in, or else the alarm will go off when I open my unit (which is what happened). When I got to my unit, it was zip tied and I didn't know how to open it. I went back to the office to ask for help, they told me it just snaps open. I tried it didn't work. I went back again and told them I really needed help, I felt like I was a nuisance to the staff and that they didn't feel like helping. My information was also wrong on the contract, the copy I have has someone else's address and driver's license number on it. I don't know if they changed it, but they never did ask for my licence. This was a very different experience from my first time years ago.

Our experience was very sarisfactory. Eugene was very efficient and accommodating. He supplied us with information even before we thought of inquiring about it. The company's promo rate was very irresistible and the overall surrounding neat and clean considering the nature of the company's service wherein dirt cannot be prevented. We have been regular customers of uhaul and their service never fails. Overall, the service was and is excellent.

Uhaul was very helpful in offering first month free storage. I had lost my job and my home and had to get movers to get my things out a place I lived for 7 years. I had a lot of things and had to get movers 3 times to transport my things to storage. Then when I found a place to live it took 3 times to move things from storage to new place. The whole endeavor was very costly. I could never have done it without U-Haul and their free month offer. I am very grateful to U-Haul for making my life a lot easier at a time when things would definitely have gone a lot worse had they not been there.

The staff had poor customer service skills. Ex. The first day I went in, the person at the front desk was eating bfast and didn't even make eye contact or stop eating the whole time! Another time three staff were sitting around talking and no one stood up or came up to talk to me. They need some customer service training.

Let me copy from my Google review : Awful facility , do not store your stuff here. You will have a difficult time loading and unloading as the loading bays are usually full of junk the staff leaves laying around, or trailers they don't organize in the parking lot blocking entrance. Then you will be battling with other customers for the one or 2 open unloading spots. The carts used to move your stuff to and from your locker suck and are small. The staff will likely not show you how to disable the alarm. If you need in after business hours you will only be able to use a small man door on the far side of the building, after you disarm the alarm, then figure out how to unlock the door (2 different pin pads you must do sequentially in the correct order) again you will not be taught this when you sign up. Then good luck moving anything through the man door with all the junk left around infront of it. Staff are unmotivated and usually ignorant. There's several better options in Winnipeg don't waste your time or money here. I'll give you 1 point to sustain.. there was ONE staff member that was good at his job. Bigger guy with a redish beard. He's the only one I would ever consider dealing with again. Overall this business is embarrassing.

I was apprehensive about self storage but the staff from first contact were reassuring. On arrival the staff were welcoming and answered any questions I had to my satisfaction . I feel quite comfortable with this arrangement and would have no hesitation recommending the Century site.

While the staff were helpful, I ended up with two 5x5 units instead of the 5x10 I had reserved. I had called twice in the last 4 days to make sure that everything was ready, and when I arrived, the locker had a "non-payment" tag on it. I understand some of this is out of your control, but better inventory management (and maybe not promising particular units while occupied), would be helpful to alleviate some of the frustrations.

I wanted to take a last carload of things from moving to put in storage as I will be in a hotel for a while. I took a taxi to storage, swiped my card at loading doors and it said " welcome Eve, access granted" but no doors opened. Called U-Haul and spoke to 'Tamika' but she didn't know what to do and was unable to help me. This not only cost me a lot of time but a lot of money as well for a wasted round trip in a taxi.

My experience with your facility was overall very positive. The only problem came when I moved out and could not find anyone to tell that I was leaving. I went into the office twice but there was nobody behind the counter. I told the person sweeping up but I guess he did not pass on the info. I'm sure he just forgot. When I got the reminder by email, I tried to call twice to notify you but could not get through. I just kept getting put on hold. One time I waited almost 10 minutes then just gave up. I was finally successful on the third try when I was able to talk to someone in person.

There was one time I received attitude from one of the staff members there. I was inside the store before closing and they told me to wait outside but never attended me. I watched them count their till and walk out waiting for them to come attend me. Other than the 1 employee, everyone else at the location has been perflectly splendid to me. I really Appecriate the free 1 month storage offer!

The staff at the site were very helpful. However, the experience with the staff at the call centre was Not helpful. After trying to call the store close to me numerous times it always brought me to the call centre and they could not accurately answer my questions. I got different answers from several different people and when I finally went in to the store in person, they gave me the accurate info.

Mostly good experience. Only issues we had were not having 24 hour access, and 3 times our code/access card was denied despite our account being paid in full. Also find the rates fairly expensive.

The staff puts in a real effort to be helpful but many times this location is understaffed and wait times can be excessive. As well a few times they have had equipment failures and we couldn't get into our location. Frustrating for sure. But overall the staff is very helpful and does their best to be of assistance.

The storage facility is very clean, well lit and the fact that you can park inside to load and unload is a big plus. This is the second time I have used Uhaul and will definitely use again.

unit didn't have a lock inside even though advertised. manager resolved instantly as it was during business hours. access to unit was impossible during the first day, even with calling 1800gouhaul. Issue resolved the next day. Every time I pull up at the loading bays I have to find someone to open them - a minor inconvenience that would be easily solved if said doors were somehow connected to pad outside or if staff were constantly aware of it. I think for the high price compared to other facilities, the experience should be flawless. Probably will stay my 4 weeks and move.

When I came in originally there was a mix up and I was told I would recieve 10 % off my rental unit for like six months to correct the error I spoke with a manager and I received the 10 % for a month or two and that was it. I really don't care about the money (since I just paid it till I didn't need the unit anymore) but I do care about the principal if your company and staff offer a customer something and don't follow threw with it then it makes your company look untrustworthy and I would never recommend u haul to anyone because if that.

In the last year the security system was often down and the rates were going up regularly. Until recently, calls were redirected to the call centre where messages were passed along to the store. I rarely got a call back and subsequently had to call back several times. Time of day didn't seems to matter.

Staff were friendly- but not helpful. See above - might want to change to two questions instead of one. Long wait times in store to pay for monthly storage. It never fails that someone is renting a truck or a locker whenever I am there to pay. Some wait times over 20 minutes. They have a "payment only" sales desk but there is never any staff there to work that desk. No pro-rating of monthly pre-paid rent. For example, I paid Sept.14 by pre-authorized payment for rent valid until October 14, 2020 but we moved out on September 26, 2020.I was told that 2 weeks rent will not be reimbursed. Asked employee at counter and he replied no money back. Why not? The storage locker is empty and available to be rented again effective the morning of Sept. 26, so why can you not refund the pre-paid rent? You have my credit card number, so please refund. Also upon move out, I asked for a receipt to show the pre-authorization of payments will stop. He could not provide me with anything like that. He said it's all in the computer and they will stop because you moved out. He then provided me with a piece of paper from the computer saying Moved Out and a zero balance due. Unable to set up debit card for monthly payments at the onset of the rental term was an inconvenience. Please note: I did not have any problems with the staff. They were always polite. The problems are relating to administration and store policies. Just wanted to clarify that. Merci.
