The trailer was filled with leaves, branches and dirt inside. We were moving our son out of college and did not have access to a hose or cleaning items. My husband was able to sweep out some of the debris while at the location using their broom, after opening it up after paperwork was done and we were hitched on. It was disappointing, we had to use our son's bedsheets as a floor cover to keep his items from getting full of dirt on the way home. The employees watched my husband cleaning out the trailer the best he could and didn't offer to help or provide any supplies.vivian G.

The van had a big dent on the side it needed a alignment hard pull to the right when driving and in the middle of my driving a low air on left front tire sensor popped on. And the seal around the driver side door was coming off and hanging on the outside of the door.Lisa H.

Vehicle wasn't cleaned before I picked it up. I'm not sure it was checked in at all. For example, I didn't rent a dolly, yet there was one in the back which I presume the last person rented. The back door also couldn't lock. This didn't really matter for my particular use but I was a little concerned I'd be charged for it or for the cleanliness. (I wasn't, however, so no problem there). Having used the location many times, this was the only time I had any issues.Matthew K.

Not the locations fault but I ordered a 20 foot truck and got a 26 foot truck. Still not sure if I paid more or not. The people working at the location were awesome but the vehicle was in really bad shape.Leah M.

Trucks should start with a full tank of gas. A quarter tank is not ok. If I have to fill it up I have to guess how much I'm going to use. If I put too much I end up paying for the next guy's gas at $4 a gallon. If I put too little I'm wasting more of my time filling up again. This is a lose-lose situation for the customer. The only one that wins is UHAUL. Never renting from you guys again if I can avoid it.Kyle M.

The amount of fuel in the vehicle I rented stated it was 1/2 full. It was actually 3/8 full. I took a picture of the milage and gauges and an adjustment was made when I returned the vehicle. Overall, I was pleased with my experience. I have used this location before and will again.James O.
The equipment was fine but the staff can be nonchalant and rude. The guy that initially checked me in (black guy with short hair wearing a beanie cap) was nonchalant but fine. However the guy that checked me out (black guy with dreads who was cleaning and checking in the trucks) was a huge jerk. He tried to tell me I was supposed to wait while he cleaned the truck before he checked me out and that it was part of the process, so â€œrushing him isn't going to help anything.â€ I stated that I had rented there before and no one had started cleaning as part of my checkout. He said, â€œI do my job correctly.â€ He initially sent me inside to checkout and all along he could have checked me out himself. The guy inside with the beanie cap sent me back outside to him (because he was helping someone else,) which is where the encounter happened. Then I was sent back inside for my receipt. Just unnecessary chaos, when I was clear that I wanted to check my truck in and get a receipt. He could have done it and grabbed my receipt. Again, the first guy was fine, he was running around helping multiple people. The second guy has no people skills and is just unprofessional.Shenita D.

From the start there was problems with the equipment. 1. Wrong size, too narrow tow dolly letter k when it should have been a wide dolly letter w. 2. When driving my vehicle off the 1st undersized dolly he forgot to unchain one of the safety chains 3. The correct W dolly had a broken strap which I helped replace with my own tools because the location had minimal tools. 4. When stopped at the exit setup sign the sign was not weighted and the wind blew sign over and in to my RV putting a 4 inch slash down to the base white paint causing difficulties in delivering it as sold to the buyer. 5. The straps came off 3 times during 800 mile trip even after I checked the straps and repositioned them. 6. The third time when I stopped I physically remove the straps, and put them on in a more accurate and proper placement strapping them more securely. 7. At one safety/rest stop, the right turn signal light fixture was missing. 8. The damage to the side of the RV coach would take extensive time and effort and cost which I'm submitting to the local office for payment.ROBERT O.

Unsatisfactory some of the staff really care nothing about customers or their jobs.I found had the worst attitude no common courtesy.Not friendly at all. The place was not always clean bathroom was really beyond using very unsanitary even at time we are experiencing please fight the this battle with keeping everything wiped down at all times and cost.If some staff members would have a warm greeting to the customers. Josh is the employee of all times he conducts himself as one of the most valuable employees in the business to represent U Haul in every area.He truly express every helpful moment. He should be the operational manager He never stop until his task is complete. Maybe Joe should consider a new training program I have been dealing with center since it was built and moved to where it is today. The service has change and it should go back to old times where it had great Standards,Great Sarvice,and High Values . I will always use U Haul Center . Made a reservation on line at one store location. Service rep. took my info. entered into system, offered me another close by location for tow dolly pick, as she did only storage unit rentals,, no equipment available at her store's location. She was very nice, pleasant to work with, very efficient and well trained. Showed up 30 mins. later to pick up tow dolly only to find out from U haul service rep. that the reservation had been canceled 20 mins. earlier. As I did not request a cancelation, this was more that upsetting to me to have to give the same information again to the U Haul service rep. My time is worth something ! Raining now and rush hr. traffic quickly approaching. Not a good U-Haul day experience to be sure ! Yes I was very pissed off and in a hurry to get my vehicle safely towed off the road back to my home. This was a very negative U-Haul experience for me indeed. Someone dropped the ball on this U-Haul rental experience for me. I should have at least gotten a substantial discount on the rental ! Rental date: 4/5/2022 Thank you for your concern. When returning truck person said he would email receipt for surrendering unit also but never did. Impossible to get uhaul on the line or in chat so don't know if I will be charged another montJonathan M.
Pickup experience was great. However, the after-hours drop-off experience was terrible. The app required an image of the tachometer and gas level, but refused to upload the picture. I ran into another person trying to return a truck and was having the same problem. I tried calling the 800 number, but the estimated wait time was 30 minutes. Insane! Finally I discovered that the website did allow for uploading photos, so I was able to finally get the return process going. Long story short, you REALLY need to fix your app.Michael D.

Despite making (and paying for) a reservation well in advance, my pickup location was changed three times in two days, the size I reserved was â€œunavailableâ€ (even though I saw several that size in the lot), then I was charged for extra mileage b/c I had to drive 40 miles out of my way to pick the truck up! Everyone was very helpful and cordial. I rented a unit "on-line" and when I arrived there was not one of the units available- as I was unable to NOT have one I had to rent a larger unit. I do not hold this location responsible for the problem- it is a CORPORATE issue and they should be held responsible for their technical website processing error. We had a free month rental with our trailer rental. Arrived after hours on 11/4 to move in but checked in online. Door code would not work. There was no lock in our unit as promised. Moved in 11/4 with our own lock, tried to move more items in on 11/10 but there was a facility lock on our door preventing us from accessing the unit. Looked at our online account, it says we are past due but a month has not passed therefore we should not be locked out. Tried calling number posted for after hrs 3x with no answer. Found office unlocked and sliding door still operational. Looked to see if someone was still on site, found no one. Tried calling number again, finally reached someone who said they would try to find someone to come out. Someone did finally arrive but only secured office. Said he couldn't help us access our unit. We are now left with a truckload of belongings and nowhere to store them. This is completely unacceptable behavior!Mark N. | Online Move In

The rating on here really should be separate one for the facility itself and one for the staff. The facility was a 0 for me with the roaches that occurred within the first week. The response to fix this issue could have been much quicker. It's not really a fix but the bug bomb killed off anything that was on the soft bags. Unfortunately, (now I know) with it being an outside unit, this is common. The rating is in no way a reflection on the staff. Terrance and Shaun were also very helpful from the start with reporting the issue. Jeremiah the GM was great once he understood there were roaches and took care of it to the best of his abilities, except it was too late (3-weeks in). The issue with this location is the roaches which appeared in my unit the very first week. I lost several items due to the roaches including memento that were damaged and irreplaceable. The area manager Michelle was supposed to contact me and never did. I am saddened by this experience. The only reason I would not recommend this facility, is the roach problem. The staff, were as helpful as could be with the circumstances. This facility really needs to contract with professional services like Terminex and Orkin. I would have never place my items here had I know there was a roach issue. If you choose to store here, make sure you know there is a roach problem in the outside units and store all your items in air tight plastic bins.TONI B. | Expérience générale

Basically it’s a bait and switch your offer the free month of storage when you rent a trailer and then you get to this place and you’re on the second floor and they don’t tell you there are stairs to get to the second floor when your offer the free storage and they don’t tell you that there’s no elevator to get to the second floor so it just sucks or you can pay like 50 bucks more and then you can go anywhere else and find the same amount storage on the first floor so it just stinksLisa T. | Premières impressions

I rented a mid-sized space on the 2d level. At first I was worried about the access to the 2d floor, but it was perfect for us. Everything about the site was perfect, from security to staff. The women that I meet, who maintained the inside of storage facility was helpful and nice. When I came and went from the building and saw her it was like meeting a long lost friend walking down the street. When I looked at this facility online, the pictures looked like a one story building. It's two levels. When I was given a second story unit, I asked where the elevators were. The response from the employee was, "this building has been open for over 10 years and has never had an elevator! You should know that!" - I am not from the area and was just helping my daughter move. The unit that I was told to move into still had someone's stuff in it, even though the employees thought it was available. They then tried to switch me into a different unit and the same thing happened in that one. Eventually after trying to find an open one for 30 minutes, they realized that none of that type of unit were available at all. How does this even happen? I was actually assigned a unit number and everything, even though someone still had stuff in it. I was given an upper level unit. When I asked where the elevator was located, I was told "this place was built 14 years ago and it has never had an elevator. You should have known that!" When the moving van and movers we hired arrived at the facility, there was no one there to explain that they had lost power and that the facility was closed. We talked to duke power employees who were fixing the broken transponder and they let us know what had happened. I had to pay an additional $600 for the movers to then take my belongings to their Raleigh storage facility to hold until I could find another storage facility. When I called for a refund the next day, no one apologized. I was told, "i had booked the facility for 11-20, if I had just moved in then, this wouldn't have happened." I was very disappointed by the staff's response and lack of empathy. I have received my refund and will not be working with or reccomending u haul in the future.Mary N. | Online Move In

Called ahead to try and update my reservation to a first floor reservation. Was unable to do it over the phone and had problems initially with the first person I spoke to and gave up on getting a first floor storage. Then TraShawn Chambers got involved and had the situation resolved in no time. Very grateful for his assistance and the assistance of the other employee at the time. He also helped and explained how the facility security worked after we triggered the alarm accidentally. Facility condition was clean and move in was quick and easy. It took two months for them to process my move out. In that two months, I was hassled with mail, emails, and phone calls regarding rent that I wasn't responsible for and statements regarding lien on my property (which had been moved out before my one free month was even up). Uhaul support told me they'd contacted the manager three times on my behalf but the issue was not resolved until I got a phone call from a representative asking me when I was going to pay the back rent and fees. The instructions to access the building worked perfectly, but the doors didn't work. Additionally, there was still a lock on my unit when I arrived at at 7:50pm. This is 10 minutes before they close. When I went to the front, they asked me if I had ever been there before. I said no I reserved online. I can only imagine they're supposed to keep track of those with online move-ins to unlock units before tenants arrive. I was told by the employee, "Word of advice, don't arrive 10 minutes before we close." He went and unlocked the lock I said Thank you and he said nothing in return. Additionally, the climate in that side was reading 88 which is outside the range they promise for climate controlled storage. It's supposed to be maintained from 75-85 degrees. Finally, they promise you a free lock in the unit. There was no lock provided. Online process was easy, but this facility is a disaster. The gentleman who helped us check in ("Y" Caldwell) was extremely helpful and positive and polite. The woman who reserved the storage rental over the phone for me reserved one that was half the size of what we needed, and you can imagine our dismay after traveling 5 states! "Y" was very quick to assure us that he would take care of it and fix the situation. He was compassionate to our frustration over the situation and understanding in our apologies that our upset was not directed at him. He worked diligently to find us 2 storage units that were relatively close to each other, took his time to walk us through how to get there, including highlighting a map and providing us with it AND taking us personally there. He took the time to explain that the codes take 24 hours to upload before they stop setting off the alarm, how to enter the codes, the best doors to unload and come through, and what the best locks were for us to get. As we were in the midst of unloading the truck with helpers and movers and figuring out what was going into each unit, "Y" took the time to walk over to us to let us know his shift was ending and to see how we were doing and if there was anything we needed or anything further he could do for us. I asked a few questions about returning the truck while we were still there and their hours and he took the time to not only answer those questions but to just chat and laugh a bit. When I asked about if we needed to extend our storage a bit, he assured me that I could just call him and he would handle it for me. He truly is an exemplary employee who is not only focused on the customer's needs, but clearly on the entire customer experience. He exhibited excellence and, in my humble opinion, deserves a promotion and a raise. (While he was taking care of us, I also watched him help his coworkers with issues and support his manager all without missing a beat.)Christine L. | Premières impressions

Not the best set up in terms of getting things into storage units that are down winding hallways. As there was only one way in or out, it was difficult if multiple people were there at one time moving. I had to wait about 3 minutes for other people to move out of the way to be able to get my stuff in. I needed a small storage unit and a van to move my son out of an apartment until he knows where he's going next. Jarron was the general manager, Jeremiah helped me, and there were at least one or two other people working. They were all incredibly professional and courteous, and incredibly aware of how stressed people are now, because of covid-19. I overheard several phone calls and they were always polite and friendly with those customers, and with the in-person customers they were as well, and offered all the protections (distancing, hand sanitizer, etc) to keep everyone safe. But beyond that, they worked REALLY WELL together as a team. It was obvious that they liked and respected each other, communicated well, and were primarily concerned with making sure the customers got what they wanted.
